[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

Lol.

Gotta love Mystic Water boosted Hydro Pump and Bubble Beam, right?  Starmie is absolutely brutal whenever it lands blows, SE or not.

Kinda like Black Glasses Night Slashes from Calam, except he has to crit to show his real strength, unlike Starmie.  Crits would just be a nice bonus for the starfish whenever they're possible.

I like the inaccurate moves in Pokerole. They force you to make some interesting decisions.

No kidding.  Trying to get Nathan's stats to the point where he can potentially integrate -3/-4/-5 accuracy moves into triple action rounds.  Thunder would be easy because of Compound Eyes (please tell me this isn't just wishful thinking and I'll be able to teach it to Grid later via TM or tutor.  Thunder is THE defining move of CE Galvantula, after all, not including Sticky Web), and Fire Blast is aided by Flame Charge, and both can also be backed by Agility.  Hypnosis is trickier since Kirlia can't boost his Dex very easily, but that'll be easier to use given time.  Technically usable as the first of 3 actions right now, even.

Inferno and Zap Cannon are the hard ones, since they have a total of -8 at minimum in triple actions, but Agility should help with that a lot if I'm struggling too much.

Yeah Thunder is approved for Galvantula. Write that down so I don't forget.

I personally don't like them, since Dice Pools and how many actions you get per round matter a ton and just makes the route of maxing DEX/Brawl/Channel/Fight all the more necessary if you want to use almost any power moves in the game to maximum effectiveness. However, if factors exist that can mitigate or outright nullify low Accuracy on those moves, or they provide valuable coverage that is otherwise unobtainable, then I'm more than happy to indulge in them! Lucifer and Ao Guang are examples that are quick to spring to mind of the former category, as they have Tailwind + Wide Lens and Rain + Dragon Dance respectively to boost their DEX to bracing levels, while Michael is just happy to have an option to SE Flying and Fire types!

I understand why those moves have such steep dice Penalties, though, since they are supposed to reflect the base games version, and fully accurate + 5 moves are just ridiculous if they are allowed to be spammed ad nasum!

Eh.  It's to be expected.  Orthros was kinda backed into a corner there, as is Starmie, and Dagny isn't the kind of person who pays too much attention to non-threats.

Quick Claw isn't going to help her against Calam, though Tongue  Result of this battle is going to come down to purely dice luck...it's gonna be close.

Well, base pokerole is still different in how much more varied the accuracy pools are, but most of those low accuracy ones do still fall under the standard accuracy rolls, so they're definitely still somewhat at fault...

The fun part is figuring out how to use them, though! Particularly if you don't go with a standard fighter build or have to use them in awkward situations.

That 1 D6 accuracy Thunder in the Sun from Raijin in the Celadon campaign still stings, btw...the paralysis it inflicted was just insult to injury...

Oops, I added 1HP to Orthros after you had already done so on your character sheet. You sure he's not a cat? He should have just lost 3 lives.

Was wondering how long it would take ya to notice Tongue

Good thing it's made basically no difference anyways.
