[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

"I respect that. Few win against me, but you are doing great so far, to defeat Lairon and quite likely Bronzong."

Dagny switches to Delta Porygon, just to show it.

Porygon: (4) +4 = 8, it'll go first.

Heart was holding together then begin to make the strategy. "Rose, be careful. The Porygon Dagny problably have Conversion and Conversion 2 in their arsenal. Conversion let him became the same typing of the foe, and Conversion 2 let him became a type who resist or even is imune against of the foe. We need finish this the mostly quick way possible. First of all you need use your move Close Combat. With a little luck we may able to cause serious damage against Delta Porygon. Then he will problably use Conversion 2 to became some typing to resist or became imune to your fighting moves. If he by chance use Conversion 2, we shall use Flame Wheel two times against Porygon. If you not feel he use Conversion 2, use Mach Punch two times. More than ever we need strategy! And If the first flame wheel makes it seem it resists fire, use close combat" (Spend another will point to ignored pain)

Close Combat Acuracy: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Brawl (3) - Actions (3) - Pain (1) = 6d6

Damage: Power (5) + STR (3) + STAB (1) + Black Belt (1) + SE (1) = 10d6+1
Notes: Reduce -1 Vit

If Delta Porygon use Conversion 2 Flame Wheel:

Flame Wheel Acuracy 1: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Brawl (3) - Actions (4) - Pain (1) = 5d6
Flame Wheel Acuracy 1: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Brawl (3) - Actions (5) - Pain (1) = 4d6
Damage: Power (2) + STR (3) + STAB (1) = 6d6
Notes: 1 Burn Dice

If Conversion 2 be not used:

Mach Punch Acuracy 1: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Brawl (3) - Actions (4) - Pain (1) = 5d6
Mach Punch Acuracy 2: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Brawl (3) - Actions (5) - Pain (1) = 4d6
Damage: Power (2) + STR (3) + STAB (1) + Black Belt (1) + Maybe SE (1) = 7d6 or 7d6+1
Notes: Priority Move
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

Gym Leader Dagny vs Heart Round 6

Porygon crawls forward on tank treads, not floating for now. As Rose approaches for Close Combat, Porygon crawls right onto her! She begins wincing as the tank treads bind on her over and over.

Gear Grind
8 brawl -2 actions -2 acc = 4/3 dice
(6)(5)(3)(6)
(2)(5)(5)
3 Str + 2 power +1 STAB +1 Technician -3 vit = 4d6 dmg.
(4)(2)(4)(2)
(6)(3)(4)(1) Rose takes 2 dmg 3/7hp -2 pain. (That's from both attacks, each doing 1).

Close Combat 1
(2)(2)(2)(4)(1)(1) Miss! Rose is already a little too close to hit Porygon.

Mach Punch 2
(6)(4)(5)(1)(2)
(6)(3) Porygon takes 2 dmg 6/8hp -1 pain

Mach Punch 3
(6)(3)(2)(5)
(5)(5) Porygon takes 3 dmg 3/8hp -2 pain

Both Pokemon have 3 hp! Porygon goes first.

Dagny whispers an order to Porygon and settles back into her wheelchair, clearly very tired.

"Don't worry too much about your odds of winning, though.  Yes, she's prepared, experienced, and doesn't hold back much, but she'll give you a fair battle.  You'll do just fine.  With Drain Punch, Pancham is going to be sturdier than he looks and hitting like a truck.  With Blaze, Braixen will be burning holes in her Steel types should you play him correctly.  Marill's Bubblebeam should do wonders against her anti-fire pokemon.  You get to bring a full team of 6 with you, use 3 of them, and use one item per round of combat.  No wound healing items like Potions, though a held Sitrus Berry would be fine.  Oh, and Lethal damage is allowed if it helps you win somehow.  Used that to my advantage to set half of her Excadrill on fire with a Flamethrower.  Made it easier to take down."

From what I saw she play an equal game of attrition and precisely checking her opponents, so the key to defeating her is continually putting pressure on her so she hardly has time to recover and muster up a sufficient counter. Debilitating her Pokémon would also work well to undermine her, but from what I saw she equally capable of doing it to yours as well, so keep that in mind and a Status Healing Item handy just in case!"

All the advice concerning one of the things that'll make the day tomorrow a day full of events is thankfully noted by her, and now that Ven was back, her spirit innerly got lifted. But...there was something within this advice that she disagreed with, actually. Being told what Pokemon were the optimal choice and why from natural battlers was helpful and nice, but...she hasn't been asked once whether she hasn't made her own thoughts about this already. If she wouldn't have just seen how well her grassy sauropod and magical fox harmonize with one another to an extend where it feels hard to break through this combo, she'd certainly feel more bad/sad about this, well knowing that this would be counterproductive - which would only complicate things more. For now, she doesn't feel capable of speaking it out and disagree openly, so she just keeps it for herself. Maybe tomorrow she would, in the privacy of the dorm, she'll think about things later then.

When it seems like everyone of them has said their part, Shiva does cast a glance over to Ven, one that seems to be questioning, like if she struggles to understand something. It was only short, but if he was paying attention, her certainly noticed, before she switched the topic. "Oh... Eh, if you people desire to speak about history and stuff, I'd rather...head into our room to rest and cool down from the day, Ven... If that's fine. Don't, well, leave me waiting too long, okay?"

Mechanics:
Alright, if that's the case, I won't stress the issue and force Shiva being in something that feels out of place in-chara and feels like hinder Ventus in his questioning. Though, this means that she will ask how the conversation went at the earliest opportunity.
I'll head back to bed and rest now.

"I'll meet you at the GPC, Ventus. Still a little tired, and I'd rather not walk all the way back. Charmeleon, Forthright, in your pokeball and apricorn please."

Nathan will be waiting in the lobby with Forthright and Kirlia. Charmeleon goes to the PC for the time being.

Kirlia uses Teleport!  *blip*

Nathan will be waiting in the lobby with Forthright and Kirlia.  Charmeleon goes to the PC for the time being.

Ventus gives the young and ever so slightly weary boy a nod of his head, saying as they did so: "Alright then, Nathan! I will not to tarry too long here if I can help it, so hopefully we'll reunite again in short order! Oh, and if you could grab me some coffee while you wait, that would be lovely!" He then watched as he and Kirlia Teleport straight to the Center, looking liking the friendly, charming, and caring person that his companions know him as, when in fact he was carefully and meticulously planning how to 'broach' the topic of their upcoming discussion with utmost serious concern.......

That was, until he just caught as sense of disquiet from Shiva after he lowered his guard/stopped focusing so intently on Nathan. The researcher turned towards his mystical friend as she voiced her own choice regarding his upcoming 'discussion' with the boy (Which was much to his liking, though he carefully concealed that from her so as not to give the wrong impression) with a curious and concerned look, and walked forward to place a hand on her shoulder. "My dear, is something cast a dour pale your thoughts? Moments ago you were perfectly bright and cheerful, but now you seemed......troubled and uncomfortable. *Looks thoughtful for a moment, before it comes to him* .......Is the cause of this negative change in your mood either mine of Nathan comments on your team for your upcoming battle with Dagney? If so, I sincerely apologize for imposing my own consideration without first asking whether or not you already had an ideal strategy in mind. While I want nothing more than to support you in any way I can, I must remember not to let my aid become negative by being it becoming overbearing or exclusionary....."

After he finished his subdued by none the less heartfelt apology, the sociologist suddenly blinked a couple times, until a look of faint surprise arched across his face. "Oh, I almost forgot! Here you go," Ventus said as he flicked his wrist,  palming Plusle's and Minun's Pokeballs from.....somewhere, and handed them over to her with a almost bashful look as he rubbed the back of his head. "Plusle and Minun worked up to quite a feverous festiveness cheering Nathan on, so I imagine they enjoyed themselves thoroughly and got some decent exercise too!"

The empath then unexpected pressed close and gave his most blessed friend a nice, warm, and comforting hug, telling her in his gentlest, most compassionate tone of voice: "Worry not, my dearest friend. I'll restrain myself so that I neither conflict nor blather with Nathan senselessly, so our discussion over history should be a none to lengthy and pleasant affair that will keep either of us all night, and keep me abscent in bed. Until then, I wish you a good night, and traquils dreams should I arrive after you slumber."

Having said this, Ventus detached from her and slowly made his way back to the Center, pondering how he blessed he was to have a truly wonderous friend like Shiva care for him so, and steeling himself for 'historical conversation' with the young scholar.....

Order: Comfort/Apologize to Shiva, return her Plusle and Minun to her care (Which should auto transport back to her PC in due time!), and bid her farewell as he makes his way to the Center. I'll let Nathan initiate the 'discussion' , as no doubt he needs some time to prepare himself as well to weather the man known as Ventus!

Coffee for Ventus?  Check.

Journal?  Triple check.

Mental preparation?

...

...half a check.  Nathan has a fairly good idea of what it is Ventus is going to ask about...

...it's not a topic he really wants to speak about, but Ventus was going to hound him if he didn't say something...

...

...he's also somewhat worried about how Kirlia might react...

...

...just what exactly was he going to say?  Hmmm...

-----------------------------

Upon Ventus's arrival, the ever inquisitive empath would notice two things.

One: Nathan is...strangely unreadable right now.  Even Kirlia is having a hard time figuring out what exactly Nathan is thinking and feeling...

Two: Nathan waits for Ventus to notice him, and then wordlessly starts heading to one of the back rooms, journal in hand and held VERY tightly.  He's also got the requested coffee in hand.

Assuming Ventus follows, Nathan sets the coffee on the back room's table, then takes a seat on the opposite end (he's slouching in the chair, trying to stay loose and rekax. He's still holding his journal super tightly as well), and waits for Ventus to make the first move...Nathan doesn't want to make ANY wrong assumptions here and say something he shouldn't have...

As was customary, Ventus first swept the private room for any bugs/listening devices with a casualness that suggested this was routine for the man by now, before he sat on his side of the table, reaching over and grabbing the hotsteaming cup of coffee that Nathan thankfully provided him. He then took a nice long drag of it, savoring the richness of the roast and getting his fill of caffine until he set the cup down on the table with a *clink!*

"Ahhhhhh.......After a long day's work, nothing beats coffee to rejuvenate the weary soul. A shame you are not partial to the beverage, but to each their own, I suppose."

The researcher obviously noticed the total lack on emotional feedback coming from the young scholar, but from little Kirlia could glean beyond his own impressive mental defense he was neither bothered or frustrated by this. In fact, he seemed peachy, smiling kindly and patiently at the boy with no hint of malice or duplicity behind it.

How odd....One would think denying the empath his main form of reading and being stonewalled from the get go would have provoked some form of reaction ......

Until one realized a few crucial details, that is.

The sociologist's empathy was an intergarl part of him, yes, and a massive source of Insight towards others intent, emotions, and thoughts, but it was by no means his only one.

Having a deep, rich, and extensive background in Psychology, Sociology, Behavioral Sciences, and Pokémon Handling, Ventus knew how to read almost anybody with a chilling degree of accuracy.  Doubly so if he was familiar with the person in question.

Nathan's defensive, apprehensive body language, their quiet, tensed breathing, their forcibly sprawled out posture, the movement and dilation of their eyes.....and much more. All of these little tells that most would ignore or overlook were detected by the researcher, as he took it all in in a frightingly amount of time, casually and almost languidly dissecting them with their scrutinizing gaze.

The boy did his best to hide their feelings, but it was ultimately fruitless; Ventus Zackarieh could read him like an open book.

Normally they would abstain from doing such.....intrusive extrospective analysis of others, but given Nathan natural stubbornness and uncanny ability to shut down/ignore anything he deamed undesirable or uncomfortable, they could make an exception in this case.

Silence. Pure and utter silence. It dragged on without end, with Ventus perfectly content to let it reign for however long they wished.

He could wait.

The sweep of the room confirms one thing for Nathan: Ventus definitely isn't intending to ask about a very savory topic in the slightest...

...

...worrying.

Despite that, though, Nathan refuses to let slip a single word that he doesn't have to.

Almost any other topic, and he wouldn't be acting this way...

"...personally, I find the flavor too strong for my liking."

Quiet silence.

...broken by one question: "What do you know already?"

No specification, no emotion...Nathan's testing the waters.  No need to disturb it with ripples if it's calm...

Ventus shrugged at their opinion, not finding it offensive or particularly inflammatory. "If that you main problem with the beverage, I do know how to concoct several milder brews that stimulate the sense without overwhelming them. That is, if you would like to try them some time."

Then, Nathan finally asks the just the question he was looking for. 'Not a direct statement he knows about them, but its damning all the same.'

His smile seemed to grow ever so slightly wider as he carefully choose his own words.

"Many things, Nathan. I'm not an historian, but I do know how to pull scatter pieces of information together, read between the lines and infer meaning not found to cursory glance....."

The empath then tilted his head, and gazed deeply in their eyes, his own kindly and sharp, like a knife hidden in velvet.

".....and it hasn't escaped my notice you've been rather evasive about a certain set of topics."

"Celebi. The Relic Stone. Orre."

Ven listen them out idly, three fingers raised for each.

"You possess a comprehensive wealth of knowledge about them all, among other things. You answer all question pertaining them to a sastifactory degree.....but you seem rather......selective of what information you give.

"You closely guard your words, subtely divert away interest into deeper probing of these topics, reinterating the same data in new ways to avoid having to say or reveal too much.....all ways to avoid elaborating on a subject, or showing only a narrow slice of it. All indicative that you know something else connected to all of them, but don't wish to spoil the surprise, so to speak."

He then steeples his fingers together, and calmly, peacefully rests his head on them.

"Care to enlightment about these details you've been obscuring, Nathan? Or I could take a wild guess, if you are uninclined to say anything right now."

Silence.
