Looks like Nathan's going on a hunting trip with Ventus after all without much coercion! All there's left to do is have Ven bring up the idea in Galvantula's/maybe Calam's company (He IS basically a supped up version of a mountain lion), and soon everything remotely carnivorous Pokémon will be voicing their opinions for wild game! He he he!

Calam doesn't really have a preference.  He's fine with anything, and his opinion of Ventus is rather mixed too (Calam can sense and manipulate natural 'magics', so...).  If he were to get any fresh meat, it'd probably be fish, as Absol are very feline.

Grid...hmmm...bugs are in a weird spot.  Weedle and Caterpie and such are suuuper common...but unlike Magikarp, they don't take a monumental dedication to raise into a half decent pokemon that someone would actually want, so that definitely still makes Nathan squeemish...

Also, no need to smirk.  That's why I asked Iron about Charmeleon's reaction in the first place.  Though it seems 'food' trumped any reaction to Ventus's 'professional opinion', so that's probably a good thing...

Hey, concerning that I actually had an idea today, @Lord Windos... Actually, Shiva is in possession of a Pokemon that'd enjoy going on a hunting trip with Ventus + his Pokemon: That special Poochyena. Yes I know, they're omnivorus and Shiva usually does feed him the usual, but some fresh meat or simply the joy of hunting prey (with Apsis) would surely benefit this little butterwolfly. Not constantly hunting maybe, but as a special event or reward for behaving it'd surely do him well. Plus, I'd rejoice to try the 20xp-suprise I've spent on him out practically.

As long as it's for food and it's within a Pokemon's nature to hunt, she'd have nothing against it, and given she's not a native of this region she'd probably even let Ven hunt fresh meat for himself if he explains the issue and desire to her (still baffled and a bit concerned to some degree, however). But she would not want to have a bite off, lol. So maybe at some point, it'd be fun to see these two heading out into the forest, find prey for Apsis and Yena (or let prey find them), battle it until fainting, then have their Pokemon dine on it while enjoying one another's company? @Iron, would that be a thing for a customized Encounter, maybe?

He's intent on making sure ALL Pokémon all given the most optimal, effective, and naturalistic care possible/when possible, so he's willing to arrange hunting trips with multiple Pokémon as some sort of pseudo Training session (if they are only hunting weak ones, that is; larger ones probably count as an Encounter) for them all.

My character would also be pleasantly surprised by her acceptance of his habits, but would likely just stick to Magikarp/Common Water Pokémon nobody would miss and fish to fulfill his meat cravings! Regardless, hunting trips sound oh so exciting to share with everyone else, and I would be glad to make it a semi-regular thing for all of us to do!

I think it'd be cool if it'd indeed be an Encounter instead of a Training Session, preferably for our two charas at first as Ven and Nathan already have shared one or two Encounter so far while I can't remember that Ven and Shiva ever did *surpressed sob* - given that she's a child of the big city who does have an interest in nature nevertheless and he's the Pokemon Sociologist with experience in field research, it'd even be interesting in-chara, some sort of a 'new experience' for her to see Pokemon hunting not on the TV Screen/in books but in real, where Ventus could share his sentiments about why he's feeding his Pokemon the way he does.

Naturalistic care is good, I'd let Braixen try hunting his food too, but better not as he might see Ventus as prey due to his hate for him. Yum.
