After Shiva explains that Gothitelle is still in training, he still wants to battle. "You see, I am an astronomer! My name is Potts. I just love how Gothitelle understand the stars better than anyone. And they're not even comet Pokemon! If you're interested in stargazing too, I'd still like to battle you."

Clauncher snaps his claw in rapid succession. He's ready to try to end this in one go again!

Clauncher begins glowing! The silhouette of his body begins to shrink...no, wait, that's his claw growing bigger! It grows until the claw alone dwarfs Clauncher's previous size. Clauncher sinks into the sand under the weight of the huge appendage, too large to easily cart along. He no longer clacks the claw, but you can hear bubbling chemical sounds coming from inside it. The transformation completes with the Pokemon bending backward against the weight of the claw.

On every day divisible by 7 (day 56, day 63, day 70, etc), Clawitzer sheds a claw. The cooked meat is worth $900 as a prized ingredient. However, it's very bitter if not prepared properly, so you need 3 successes on a cooking roll to get this money.

(Okay, I think the Shadow Pokemon conversation has progressed enough that I have an idea of what Nathan's morning might be like.  So...jumping forward a bit to the morning of Day 50...)

The next morning, Nathan's...in an okay mood.  Not great, not dismal...just okay.  Forthright was being as cuddly as always, and it was really comforting.

...

...he'd been thinking a lot about various topics last night, so it takes him a moment to fully wake.

Kirlia had been doing some thinking the previous night too.

In fact, he'd actually stayed up later than Nathan doing so.  He'd gone into Nathan's journal and rather furiously crossed out that one set of lines that Nathan had written underneath all that text on N.  No way it would be readable now...everything is put neatly back where Kirlia had found it afterwards, though.

He'd also been thinking a little on how to help Nathan...and he came to a decision...

When Nathan finally wakes up, he finds Kirlia...staring at the Neverstone.  Intently.

Nathan blinks, rubs his eyes...is he seeing things?

...

...nope, still there...

He's hesitant to ask, but..."...Kirlia?  Why are you...?"

Kirlia turns his head to look at Nathan...closes his eyes...recalls and shares the memory of the vision of Nathan walking with him as a Ralts...

...he doesn't care what form he's in, as long as he's with Nathan.  As long as Nathan still cares.  And if Mesprit wants a Ralts to break the barrier, then so be it.  One less thing for Nathan to worry about, if Mesprit is awake and able to do what it pleases instead of being trapped in a prison of its own making.

...and maybe Kirlia needs some time to reflect, too.  Yesterday, he'd not done what Nathan asked him to do...maybe spending some time as a Ralts again would be good for him.

Nathan stares at the scene for another moment...

"...are you sure you want to try that?  It'd be...a lot of hard work to get back to where we are now, you know..."

Kirlia turns to look at Nathan...and smiles.  He doesn't care, and it won't take them long to regain that strength.  He's almost certain of that.  Besides, one of the things that Nathan had been thinking about...what strength is...Kirlia thinks he has an idea of what it means for Nathan...

"...we'll try it later then...let me just...get ready for the day..."

They don't Teleport back to Vapor Falls immediately.  Nathan needs to make some preparations first, get himself ready for what might come...

First off, he swaps some pokemon around in his party.  Out go Charmeleon, Porygon-Z, and Pulse, and in come Calam, Ditto, and Grid.

Second, Nathan and Kirlia spend some time playing with Forthright.  Nathan might be boxing her later today, so spending some time with her sounds like a good idea.  Starmie adds some entertainment value with some dazzling lights!  ...maybe a little too dazzling, though, as Starmie seems to be using Confuse Ray on Kirlia!  Oh dear!  It gets a good chuckle out of Forthright, though.  Calam's quietly observing, gnawing on some Dry Food while he does so.  It's relaxing, seeing the young cloud enjoying herself...but he can feel the weight of what Nathan and Kirlia are about to attempt, so he's psyching himself up, too.

Encounter 1 is a Training Session for Forthright, Calam, and Starmie!  Starmie then learns Confuse Ray for 22 exp!

After that's done, Nathan swaps his party around slightly again.  Forthright and Starmie get deposited in the PC in exchange for Swiftfire and Solomon.  And once that's done, Nathan and Kirlia head outside...and Teleport to Vapor Falls.

Everyone seems to have gone about their own business today, so it seems like the group wasn't going to be heading to Cress City today...maybe tomorrow...

...today is the last easy chance for Nathan to reach Mesprit with his own pokemon, though, in that case...best make it count...

When Heart see Gustav finish off the Nidorina he was about to say something. But then Clauncher shiny and began to change form. Heart not able to say anything. Until the transformation finally subdue, and Gustav finally evolves to his new form, as a powerfull and pride Clawtizer! Heart wasnt able to say anything...then he did a happy scream and hug the now almight Clawtizer the best way he possible! "AWESOME! SIMPLE AWESOME! YOU FINALLY EVOLVE GUSTAV! I almost cant believe! You look a lot of stronger now my friend! Cant wait to tell the others about that." Then Heart look a bit concern about the weigh of the big canon in Gustav hand now. "Do you need any help Gustav?" Say Heart worry about his pokemon.

Clawitzer has to work really hard to move at any speed on land, but he will soon learn to travel by firing off Water Pulses and traveling in the opposite direction!

....Oh. It's just Gothitelle having caught the attention of an....wait a moment, of an astronomer?! Now this caught Shiva's attention. "Oh well, hi then!~ Now look at that, Lilith, someoneelse than me is fascinated by you! How sweet, haha. I-I can totally agree with the sentiment on their understanding of the stars and reading in them." 'Comet Pokemon' reminds her on something, in particular on her astral rock, Comite - but it's currently not with her. Maybe she'd show him later, depends.

"O-Oh, I can have you battle two other Psychic Types of mine then, followed by two Fairy Types! You can stay out and watch, alright, Lilith?"

In an instant and graceful handwave, Kyuu is summoned to the scene/found battlefield, and Helios is gestured to please step forward and side the psychic kitten! I promised to find a battle where Helios can participate, and here's a chance for Kyuu to battle among a Psychic Type that controls his powers.

Vapor Falls...the hiding place of Mesprit, the Being and Sealer of Emotion...Nathan and Kirlia quickly and quietly make their way behind the Falls (still getting a bit wet on the way in, but eh), with Calam leading the way once more...

...time to pay Mesprit's cavern a visit, and see if all is the same as before...
