Valder has Mamoswine out. With his massive strength, he's breaking aside all the stone rubble obstacles that plague Route 05 constantly, refuse from tunneling Pokemon. As Mamoswine charges ahead, Valder spots shiny pinkness. Quite a bit of it, actually. The item appears to be a triple crystal, pink, with rounded bases and pointy tips. It looks like a sharp blow would break this into three crystals.

Mamoswine completely ignores it. But Frogadier, Haunter, and Theo all fight over it.

While the others are on ahead, Heart takes a break. He's tired after training three wild electric Pokemon, so he makes himself a sandwich. A shadow appears over him. He looks up to see a slight man, holding a spear and wearing a breastplate. At his side, a nice sword. His hat is red and has several symbols sewn onto it. When he sees Heart looking at him, he gives a small wave with his off-hand.

Hmmm...well, that's quite the conundrum...

...well, idea number one for retrieving it: let's use Vine Whip again since it has a 20 ft range!

Out comes Yule!  Swiftfire too so he has some flickering fire light to show where that metal object is without being blinded by Starmie's Illuminate.  (Though it's also a cover to give Yule another chance to try and impress Swiftfire)

F-Found some Furret! And not even one, but THREE of them, aww! Will be a perfect distraction and bring her back to her old self.

Huh, and she didn't even know that Mount Sentry's and Cress City's Furret come in slightly differing markings and colorations, almost like they're custom-bred by some person and then released into the wild. This only facinated her more though about these slim and furry Pokemon, the bigger one would probably be some sort of leader of this small hunting pack. This one caught her attention, quickly followed by the one looking like it wore socks! <3

Shiva remains approximately one step away from these three Furret as she takes a seat right there on the ground to be closer and around eyelevel with these three ones. She's mustering them very curiously, head tilted and if the Furret actually take a look at her, they'd find her smiling faintly to them. Definitely not intimidating, but somewhat invitingly. She's also paying close attention to what they seem to speak with one another after their successful hunt, wonder what they were discussing? Does that empathic sense towards Pokemon she has developed tell her more about it?

It also wasn't Shiva who broke the ice with these Furret. It was Marill, giving them a melodic chirp on her own as a greeting! Immediately, Shiva threw an expecting glance over to them. Will they come near her if she holds out her hand for them to sniff on as a greeting from her own side?

Yes, I think that would work. Up comes the vine, now running through the hole in the center of a shiny disc! Your Pokedex scans this and identifies it as a TM for Icy Wind!

The Furret don't appear to be hungry. The leader cocks its head at Marill's chirp, but that's about it. You can reasonably guess they are communicating where to go next, but that's about it.

Ventus gets his wish a few miles down Route 05's tunnel. He's stalking ahead of the others, flinching at every movement, and even summoning a Pokemon a couple times to defend him from shadows or whirling dust. On the third try, he hears a rumbling sound and a few Furret leap overhead from out of a tunnel. Shiva, who is closest to him, moves to intercept those Furret.


But among the forbidden fuzz of Furret, Ventus' sharp insight spots a very different creature. It is stony and slithery, but when it leaves the Furret tunnel, gamboling just as they do, it seems to float in the air like Lilith rather than leaping from stone to stone! It's bigger than the Furret too, being about 8 feet long and proportionally broader. So as it passes, it enlarges the Furret tunnels with the sharp stony scales that run in circular bands along its body.

It has no paws. Its head is blunt, its mouth wide, and it has a long spike of stone over its eyes. Its movements and shape are a bit like a Gyarados, its personality is that of a Furret, but that body - that's obviously an Onix!! A very strange one that flies through the air instead of slithering through the ground.

If Ventus still wasn't suffering shell shock from being Mementoed and focusing half his mental energies in repairing/shoring up his overall stability/sanity, he would have boggled at the extremely odd Onix, mind racing in excitement and fascination at encountering what appeared to be a Detla variant! Think of the research potential! As he is now, though, the only overt reaction on his part was a raised eyebrow and a look of intense yet disspassonate scientific/commonity interest, calmly observing it as he devised the best course of action to approach it. Apsis, on the other hand, look completely befuddle at seeing mini floating rock snake, he vast quantities of anger forgotten for the moment. What? No, just what? She's seen some odd stuff with her master, but this......this takes the Rattatta.

Finally, the researcher nodded his head and pointed at the Oddnix , snapping his giant snake out of its daze as he relayed his orders. "This is a most curious and unique individual of its species, Apsis, so I want it captured if at all possible. To that end, engage it with Wrap first to prevent its escape, before using Acid Spray and Ice Fang to minimize its threat to bare minimum levels. Subdue them my sister, but proceed with caution as well....."

Order: Regardless of Initiative, Apsis will use Wrap to lock the Oddnix down and prevent them from escape, before using Acid Spray and Ice Fang to make it impotent in multiple different way....if the dice don't screw me over again, that is. If Wrap misses, it will be kept being used until it procs, with the sequence being 'moved down' as a result (EX: If Wrap is used twice, Acid Spray will be her 3rd move.) Time to find out what is hidden under this snake's rugged façade.....

Oh. No reaction from these Furret, not even towards her blue fae mouse saying hello? Hummm.... They seem to be busy with their own stuff.

....Well, too bad for them that Shiva has gotten a liking on them already; if she could she'd probably adopt the whole trio to enable them staying together. (But actually, she'd be already happy to get a hold of that one with the white socks.) Now, she definitely won't let them simply escape her presence and interested observing, hmpf. Not as long as she can prevent it!

'Prevent it'... In a swift and barel noticable movement, Shiva summoned Kyuu to her side. The psychic cat yawned and gave her Master a curious look afterwards, wagging her two blue-white tails, Shiva made sure to catch his attention before he'd react to the trio of Furret. She also lowered his voice, not that it was needed though if these three didn't react to Marill's greeting. "Kyuu....", she told him, "please make good use of these eyepatterns you keep covered with your ears. Reveal them, prevent these three Furret from fleeing, capture them, but stay right here by my side. I don't want you to open a battle, please."

Kyuu just blinks, then...learns and uses Mean Look for 0xp on the trio of Furret, simultaneously or one after the other. If all three Furret have Run Away ability, that'd be useless, but I hope that this is not the case!

Do they react to that?
