[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(03-16-2018, 01:06 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: *Happily shrugs* To each their own, I say! I prefer having a central main line up with Pokémon Permenantly on the team (Raphael and Apsis), Regulars (Hanael), and the rest being Pokémon that can be freely swapped in and out as needed (Like Michael (with Lilith/Azrael), Lucifer (with Ao Guang/Azrael), etc.) . Keeps things nice and simple for me to manage Party, Item/TM, and XP wise, and it always ensures I have the right type coverage available! That, and every Pokémon I catch and don't want can be easily converted to profit for me and the group, unless its a favorite or future part of the team of course!

For me,  focusing on using my favorites and Pokémon I KNOW are great/unique is the way to go, rather than have a whole mess of Pokémon I have to look after and constantly renew/grow his bonds with. He and I are having a hard enough time as is making sure everyone gets the training and care they deserve, you know!

Oh, I've got that plenty sorted out already,most of the team members just aren't permanently on the team at all times.  Between Ralts (still needs a lot of work, but he's always on the team anyways), Calam, Swiftfire, Starmie, Grid, and some filler, I've got a solid team setup already that really doesn't need much more work put into it.  Nathan's overall strongest pokemon (including a few not listed here) don't need a whole lot more work (besides Ralts).  That's why I'm not too worried about spreading the exp and having to pick who to use frequently.  I'm not worried about TM stuff much for the most part, and another part of Nathan's character is getting by on what little he has, getting only what he really needs.  With some few exceptions, of course.

I figured trying out this playstyle would be fun, and I do have to say I've been enjoying it a lot.  Give Nathan enough time, and he'll have plenty of viable team compositions to choose from without having several 'weaker' pokemon mixed in.

Humm. To each their own, I guess? But if enjoying a chosen playstyle, it's definitely fine~

Shiva doesn't have the time to train all of her Pokemon and I do rather play and bond with those selected ones, swapping around sometimes on training to try something in battle out with them (like Tropius under the sun), collect XP for a move I'd like them to have (like Furret, he will become another ideal Helping-Hand-User) or because they fill a niche (like Yena, who is getting trained to deal with Ghosts and Ghost Types). Recently, I developed the urge to train and play more with sweet Spritzee...

A good beggining for both of us Phantom! I did forgot Azumarill have learn Infestation. Lets see...

Phantump have 3/6 HP, 2 Pain, and have the effects of Infestation, cant be switch and -1 Defence
Typhon have 2/6 HP, 2 Pain and -1 Defence
Marill have 5/9 HP and 1 Pain
Meowstic have 2/8 HP and 2 Pain

A pretty balance battle to me. Time to change a bit my strategy...

So, to clarify, @Spiritmon, you wouldn't begrudge me if I'd accidently faint your Pokemon in the next Round? I wanted to hold back to prevent this, actually.

Ooh, Percival is out and about! That's both good and bad, since its Steel type moves and Protect are going to be a Pain for Shiva, but Azu can and probably will still blast it with Bubblebeam, if it doesn't fire off an Infestation first to help whittle it down or bait out the Protect.

@Iron

Meanwhile, in Celebi Park, I'm waiting on Emolga and Furrets' reaction to the Flash Ball photo (and how it turns out) before I continue..
