[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

"Yes, I know where I can sell these jewels. Jewels don't depreciate, even cheap gimcrackery like this. Enjoy your book and your wonderfully variously scented Spritzee!"

---

"I don't have anything on my Finding schedule that is worth as much to me as this trek is! Just a few missing Meowth and such. Let me know a day in advance so I can prepare. You can pay the 2500$ when we set out. If I may suggest, it would be far easier to just grab a book and bring it back here with you."

"Determine where an object is from just by smell? I can if I have ever been to that location before. Otherwise I'd have to go on a trek to find a matching location. With a corresponding price increase."

"Well then, humor me for a moment, please..."

Nathan reaches into his bag...

...and sets the metal finger he found oh so long ago on the table.

"...and tell me where I found this item.  You've probably been to where I found it already."

Quote:Meanwhile, Ventus is currently sulking around Corsage like a right proper citzen, all gloom and doom and badaboom! Since Ventus and I are stuck Encounter wise until after the not-date (Probably just going to have a solo Training Session with Azrael, like a game of Marco Polo to help her overcome their blindness by sound), I want that sequence of events to be kickstarted in a timely manner, so that love between mine and Phantom's character can bloom at long last!

Ventus skulks past Chuckles' gym, glaring as he remembers an unpleasant time he had there. Suddenly, the doors open and a gigantic Haunter appears bearing a hapless male trainer. It tosses him out the door onto the steps, and a dark voice emanates from the dark interior of the antique gym. "Don't come back....until you've learned to present a proper challenge."
The ancient doors close again. But Haunter suddenly comes phasing back through, bearing an unconscious Misdreavus which is dropped atop its trainer.

The youngster dusts himself off and recalls Misdreavus sadly. "I really need to find a stone for you, my one and only ghostie. You're still too small to go against those Haunter and Mismagius. Machoke is big enough, but can't get hold of those ghosties...Snorlax couldn't be any bigger, but all his best moves are ineffective...well, it's gonna be a long grind of training I guess, Misdreavus!"

Heart was impress. He didnt expect both of his pokemon would be defeat like that. Heart pick up Rose and Koa. Koa give a intense glare against Cottonee almost saying: You might be a fairy, but next time I gonna beat you! Talking about rivality. "You two make a great battle. You too Koa. You was able to give a good battle against two fairies. I very proud of you." Then Heart pat the head of the little dragon. "You did your best too Rose. You resist even after the wounds you receive from Braixen. Its already incredible you was able to survive against them. You two deserve a good rest." Then Heart return both of his pokemons to their pokeballs.

After that he look to Shiva with a smile. "I guess the battle do not over yet. Its a very balance match between us. I beat four of your pokemons: Azumarill, Meowstic, Cherubi and Braixen. And you beat three of my pokemons: Phantump, Infernape and Axew. And all my others pokemons is wound after the others battles. I might not survive the next round. You make a incredible turn of tabble in our battle. Should we continue? I ready to continue. The battle its not lost until you last pokemon fall.

"A test, eh? No pay, I guess? Well, as long as it doesn't help you with anything..."

Mr. Finder snorts at the metal finger, and again. He places it on his lap, under his booth, and concentrates.

"I smell water...running water. And campfires. And some flowers. Onion? No way. Bro- no. El- no. I'll get it. Ra- uh uh. Trilliums? Trilliums! Ah, that gives the game away, doesn't it. This was found near Trillium Town. The campfires could be Mount Molten, I guess. Or perhaps further along the river, on that easterly road there. The delightful one where poison is forbidden. Pretty good, right?"

"OH? Hm. No, there's something else." He lifts it and sniffs it again.

"Before that, it was subjected to a powerful natural attack. I want to say a Solarbeam. And I smell burning rubber or plastic, and ash. There was more steel around, too. A LOT of steel. A suit of armor? No, larger even than that. More like a car or a train or something. That's my guess. So maybe a train on Route 01?"

"Close enough.  Found it on Route 01, in a berry bush near Trillium.  There were a few campsites nearby, and Mt. Molten in the distance, but there's also the ash field."

Back in the bag the metal finger goes.

"Quite impressive you picked all that up, really.  I've been carrying that around for...almost two months now."

Nathan looks at Shiva.  "Alright, I'm convinced.  I'm inclined to agree with Mr. Finder here that bringing an old book to him would probably be a better idea.  Less conspicuous."

Hmmm...

"One more question, though.  If you were to get lost in the tunnels of Mt. Sentry, would you be able to find your way out?  What we're looking for is probably going to be deep, deep in the heart of the mountain.  And the paths through the interior are never the same day to day."

In a moment where Furret was distracted something, maybe food, maybe watching what Gothitelle does to learn more about 'shoplifting', Shiva hands that stuff the furry Pokemon has collected over in a swift movement, only now she actually realized that these are jewels... Furret certainly deserves a reward for having collected such cool stuff.

Then she hugs that book closely, feeling like she made the deal of the day, despite haven't even traded Druddigon over yet! The two hours in between pinning up the trade request and meeting with people interested in trading have not passed yet, by far not. "I WILL ENJOY THAT BOOK, THANK YOU!~" <3

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah. Not having to give an exact date for hirering Mr. Finder to find the Secret Library for 'em does a fine job to relive any worries Shiva might have silently had, though nothing of that is visible on the outside than an impercible sigh of relievement and a stroke over her big Furret's soft head. "Thank you... In that case, I'll see whether I can't burrow an old book from the secondhand bookstore for an hour or so on the day before we want to head into Mount Sentry, then I'll swiftly come to you with it for the scent. Alright?"

Once Nathan has finished his own questioning/testing of Mr. Finder's skills, Shiva will ask him of his thoughts about the hirering (EDIT: Already done), then ask Mr. Finder where to sign or how to make a definite deal.
In her view, she doesn't see anything wrong about the hirering.

At Nathan's agreement, shiva delightfully puts the tips of her finger to a roof in front of herself, smiling coyly over that pleasant outcome. "Great, I guess that settles it!~ Please save a bit of your money then, Nathan, as I'd like the cost be shared between all of us fair unless you're really blank. In return for me getting a book for the scent, could you please inform Valder and Heart about this deal? I'll meet Ven today anyway, so then I could....tell him as well."

*sigh*

"I still don't really know how much I can contribute, but I'll try and save some, yes.  And yes, I'll tell Valder and Heart later (I guess that's another reason Nathan will be waiting in the PC's lobby later.  That works out nicely!).  I need to speak with you after this about one more thing before we go about our separate business here, though."

The empath winced sympathetically as the seemingly hapless Youngster was brusquely 'escorted' out of Chuckle's haunt house of a Gym, as he all to keenly remember the various maladies the stern man inflicted upon him and Nathan. Contrary to one might expect, th Overgrown Haunter didn't phase him at all when he saw it,  as the swift trouncing and containment of two he now owns and suffering under its torture inured him to such fright. That, and he knew the Ghost didn't and wouldn't bear him any ill will or try to surprise him (or so he hoped), so that helped too!

Hearing the kid bemoan his wanting Strength/capabilities among his team, and seeing his Misdreavus further sparked his interest, as he was looking for a well trained and relatively tame Ghost type himself to re-fortify his assault against Chandelure with Valder's own rad Haunter (For they were indeed awesome in Ven's eyes!).

'Hmm....if the boy desires more power to magnify his chance of victory against Chuckles in the future, perhaps he would be tractable for a deal of sorts? I have plenty to offer that he's need of, especially in Pokemon to bolster his team once he trains with them or sells them himself for whatever he desires, and I feel that Misdreavus hold untapped potential I could harness under my care. ...Yes, I believe I'll go forward and present my offer.....'

With that thought in mind, Ventus glides forward toward the boy, his foot steps hardly giving off a murmur, until he was right in front of him, hands clasped together, bowed slightly forward, and with a gracious/kind/sympathetic smile on his face (all of it geniune too).

"My, I see Chuckles continues to live up to his reputation. I knew he was as serious and no nonsense as one could possibly be, but I didn't imagine he would treat failed challengers so....firmly. Considering suffered under his challenged myself and barely scrapped on through with my Arbok, you have my deepest condolences. In fact, I'm willing to rendor considerable aid to helping overcoming him.....if you agree to my terms and conditions for it, that is. Sympathetic as I may be towards your plight, I'm not exactly in the position to offer help without some compensation....."

The sociologist pauses for a moment for effect and to catch him breath, before smoothly transitioning to his proposal.

"I'm willing to hand over to you the sum of $4000 Poke in both money and Rare Items, and trade two highly experience yet Disobedient Haunter and a Tangrowth in exchange for your Misdreavus. I have need of a well trained and tempered Ghost type on my team, and you need more capital and more type diverse and strong Pokemon to fill out your team, so I believe this is more than a fair trade. Do you agree to these terms, my friend?"

Order: Trade over all the specified goods for that Misdreavus!
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
