[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

I have a question for you: would I miss out on anything if I just watched a playthrough of it on YouTube? I've already have plenty of games in my backlog that need finishing in between studying and Pokerole, so if I could get a similar experience online as I could playing the game myself, its all aces for me!

Forgotten Item, you say? Hmm.....sounds like [Spoilers] to me!

As long as said video series is somewhat thorough about exploring the world, you won't be missing out on anything.  It's not a super long game, and only a handful of the cases were actually semi-difficult to solve.  The strong points are the story and setting, which a video series can definitely showcase.

Big spoilers.  I really liked the reference, though.  It meshed really well with the item's in-game effects in Gen 2.  And it gave the item a tiny amount of lore, too!

As long as said video series is somewhat thorough about exploring the world, you won't be missing out on anything.  It's not a super long game, and only a handful of the cases were actually semi-difficult to solve.  The strong points are the story and setting, which a video series can definitely showcase.

86?! I even didnt know he have that much! Welp we could say he have 89 now in Alola. 90 if you count his now capture Poipole. In other words it would be a difficult opponent. As much I hate the guy, I cant disagree he is a strong trainer with a bunch of strong pokemon. Fer example his disobedient Charizard or Infernape who is capable to use the full power of his ability, Blaze. His Greninja who as capable to use his alternative form as a AshGreninja. And I must confess there is one of my favourite moments in Diamon/Pearl. 

When Grotle was fighting Rhyperior, he somehow eat his Energy Ball by mistake. This somehow increase his grass abilities, and in right moment he learn about this ability he was able to use against Rhyperior. Even loosing (again) I must confess that was a genius kind of strategy he use. He use a few times during the season, but I was a little sad he didnt use that in Kalos from what I could see. Oh, and the was the strategy he use to get rid the Poison Spikes in his last battle against Paul. He order Infernape to use Dig the ground and then burn the arena with Inferno (or it was Heat Wave I dont know now). He burn the Poison Spikes AND cause a huge flame damage against his foe.

And of course a more recent one when he use the tail of Pikachu to predict the next moment Meowstics Future Sight would strike again and use against them. There is not denying Ash its a strong trainer, and he would win some pokemon League by now. Unfortanely the writers is pretty dumb with that stupid idea about: "If he win a pokemon League, his journey to be a Master Pokemon would be end." With is not truth. Becoming Champion of a Region its just only the beggining. There wold still the mission to capture all the species of pokemon in one region. And there is others regions do explore, and capture other pokemons. Be a champion its only the first step.

That 86 is including his alolan pokemon, actually (and excluding 29 of his Tauros)

Important to note that Rhyperior was specifically Tower Tycoon Palmer's Solid Rock Rhyperior. Anime loves beefing up Solid Rock to be more effective, and Palmer could probably give Cynthia a run for her money if he tried! (I mean, he even used her battle theme in Diamond and Pearl...yeah...)

I agree, it would be nice to see Ash winning a Championship for once.  Him doing things like beating Hoenn's Battle Frontier are always welcome sights.

Here's another example of how ludicrously strong Ash is: in that battle against Alain that he lost, Pikachu took down Alain's Tyranitar AND Metagross and then proceeded to heavily damage Megazard X on top of that before going down.  (There was really no reason Ash should have lost the battle at that point, other than the writers saying NO!)

Ash actually doesn't try to 'catch 'em all' anymore, though.  That was something he was trying to do to compete with Gary.  Ever since he finally defeated his rival and the rivalry became more friendly, he focuses more on the individual strengths of the pokemon he already has.  He's certainly doing well on 'see 'em all', though, that's for sure.  Catching them all is more Red's mission while he was traveling across Kanto (which he eventually succeeded at doing, barring Mew)

Please dont remind me that battle against Alain. Everytime I remember that pokemon battle, I have the urge feeling in punch something to make me feel better. And the reason why I give up in watch pokemon XYZ.

Me and I my friend...unfortanely, since the end of the pokemon League in Kalos, I have give up the anime AND all hope of that guy win something. Thats my mantra about the anime of pokemon: "Abandoned all hope anyone who expect to the protagonist win something or have any character development."

They haven't used gotta catch 'em all as a part of the series logo since gen 2, actually.  Yeah, collecting is a big part of the series, but it's not the stated end goal like it used to be originally.

Ash has won plenty of somethings before.  And he's had pleennty of character development (it's completely unrelated to why he keeps losing League tournaments.  If it was related, he would have won most of them by now)

Yeah yeah, I aware about his winnings sometimes in dramatic ways during his battles against Gyms, like the Fairy one and Psychic one I have stated before. And about see all the Legendaries in all generations yara yara. He's still not the same character he used to be back in the original series.  Again, blame the writers.  I'll just leave it at that.
