[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

No, she's not quite that kind of character...hmmm...

I'll think of something eventually.  Won't be stalled for too long.  I should hopefully have a good idea by tomorrow afternoon at the latest...

What about Rhea? That's the name of the Greek Goddess that represents Motherhood, Fertility, and Generations, and is associated with the a sacred mountain called Ida. Given that Furret's motherliness and ties to Mt. Sentry, that's a rather fitting name in my books, by its only a suggestion!

I'll keep that in mind.  Thanks!

I don't even know whether Shiva actually knows about Nathan's second name, but for convenience I'll simply say that she caught it up from him sometime. The chances that she asks Nathan about this are good actually, but I'm not yet sure when and how to approach him with this as it's as Ven and Windos said, a sensitive topic.

Shiva's own second name is still secret apart from the hint that it starts with an 'A', simply because there's no need for the group to adress her so formerly. Authority figures can do so, though. Spoiler, the name can be interpreted two ways.

Well, that sounds like a fight I can get behind, especially since its good/easy practice for Malphena to demonstrate her Ghostly might! Don't want to engage them yet until Phantom makes a return and decideds on what Shiva wants to do in response. Ven would like to fight and capture them for more profit/keep them if they know Dig, but if his girlfriend rather befriend or avoid them altogether, so be it! If we end up doing the former, we still have to decide how to split up the Marowack between, so I'll just wait for now~

I'll state in my next post in GameThread what I'd like to do!~ Huh, I hoped to battle some major Ghost Type so that Yena can have some action, but I'll adapt accordingly.

Hmmm...okay, a couple more mechanical questions, @Iron.  And a couple notes for everyone else, I guess.

1: Follow Me and Spotlight's wording says attacks will target the user/target of the move for a turn. That's slightly different wording than scene and round.  The book defines a turn as a single set of actions from every participant in the battle, too.  Not really a question, but I wanted to make sure we have the effects of the move clearly defined.  (and not as powerful as I initially thought now that I've looked at it in a bit more detail)  The question is if we're sticking with that for how the move works.  I don't really see any reason not to, though, tbh...

2: Baton Pass.  What's it's Accuracy Roll since we're probably not going to use the current Will score for it?  A standard Canalize one?  Also...Pokerole Batone Pass works veeerrry differently from main series games Baton Pass, passing only positive increases to Traits (say, Furret uses Amnesia, gets hit by Leer, then Baton Passes, she would pass Amnesia but not Leer)...but in turn preventing the user from increasing those traits again for the remainder of the scene.  Whereas the games' Baton Pass lacks that final drawback, can pass many, many, many different effects other than just stat increases/decreases (things like Aqua Ring, Ingrain, Confusion, Leech Seed...almost all temporary effects that can be cured/lost by switching)...I assume we're going to stick with the book with this one for simplicity, though?

3: Rest.  Book doesn't say it heals statuses like it does in the games, though that's probably due to the 'can be suffering from multiple statuses' thing that Pokerole does.  Also says the user has to sleep for 2 entire Rounds from start to finish...which probably doesn't include the Round you use the move, I imagine.  This isn't a practical move in battle at all unless you have Snore, Sleep Talk, or items/moves/abilities than can heal Sleep immediately, as you leave yourself completely vulnerable otherwise.  Having access to a Complete Heal at all times is nice outside of battle though, I guess...this really is reminiscent of how ridiculously powerful a Sleep status is in a realistic scenario...4

I've already asked for the Accuracy Roll of Baton Pass at some point rather early, been told that it's indeed Channel.

Page 377 of this thread, right?  Yeah, that sounded vague to me, so that's why I'm asking again.  *shrug*

1. A turn is pretty much the same thing as a round. Spotlight/Follow Me will last until I post "Battle Girl Round 2" or whatever.

2. Keep it like the book. Channel is fine. I also considered Perform, but Channel/Canalize is simpler.

3. Yeah, there's no easy way to fix how messed up Sleep is, just consider the move an out-of-combat ability in most cases.

That matches with what I was thinking, good that it's clarified now. It'll become useful for a particular thing I wanted to try out with Spritzee and Furret in a battle together at some point.

I have a question, @Iron: It feels to me that nothing speaks against departing into Mount Sentry in the morning instead of in the afternoon on the next in-game Day. Ventus managed to make enough cash, I'm not sure about whether the others are read though or have unfinished business. Shiva still needs to bring back the book Mr. Finder kept overnights in order to get her Trainer's Card back, but I guess she simply could do that shortly before departure as it'll won't take longer than like, 5 minutes. She'd get up with Ventus, head to the Violet Tent, get that book, bring it back with Helios' help, then head to the Center to swap for a team for the trip down into Mount Sentry.

The question is whether Mr. Finder is fine with that as well, as in-chara Shiva agreed 'afternoon' with him?
