Ventus acted in-chara in my view, but do what you like as you are free to make your own choices to the same degree as we are. I'll stay sceptical about the bees choice until proven otherwise, in- and outta-chara.

Concerning food, have you noticed how many and versatile food recources I had Shiva buy? These aren't simply for her as she nor her Pokemon eat much usuallly, Furret and Yena can even hunt their own food during the trip to be independant from her Master providing meals. I assume that everyone stocks up on food for the journey themselves, but apart from me and Heart who already had supplies none did that, or it simply hasn't been mentioned in-game?

Nathan's trying to prep for the worst, not assume what everyone brings is going to suffice, and he tried to work with everyone else when deciding who to loan out to who.  He'll have his usual basic food stores, but he'd feel better about the trip if there's several replenishable food sources (more food is never a bad thing).  I was thinking we had more than plenty for Dragons and Rock/Ground already between 4 Water types, 4 Grass types (and one other Grass user), 2 Fighting types (and one other Fighting user), a Ground type (Mamo doesn't have to use EQ. Mud Bomb is still pretty good too), a Steel type (and 3 other Steel users), an Ice type (and 2 other Ice users), and 3 Fairies.  The Combee wouldn't be THAT much of a detriment.

For reference, I'm referring to the combination of Gustav, Azu, Starmie, Solomon, Yule, Viktor, Cottonee, Michael, Rose, Raphael, Mamo, Lucifer, Calam, Theo, Malphena, and Ralts. That's 16 pokemon to handle those 3 types. I think we would have had them fairly well covered.

We have so many food resources and restocked supplies (I assume, at least) + in a worst case scenario the possibility to hunt down wild Pokemon to keep ourselves feeded as well as Mr. Finder's help and that Black Stone to find our sought out destination realtively quickly when I'm being very carefully optimistic about how things look now, so I silently hope that we won't run out of necessary things unless we'll get trapped down there for reasons and have to wait for Tanuki finding us. But, again, you gave your arguments and we gave ours, the final decision is your call.

Hmm, @Iron, if you'll control him in battle, that means that Shiva can still command the usual two Pokemon, can she? Or does asking him favours include asking him to use this or that move when facing a particular foe?

You can command two of your OT Pokemon as long as you don't ask him for any favors during a battle.

(Well, since Heart took Ventus up on his offer to keep Abaddon, Ven now how a free space in his party line up to be filled by whatever EXCEPT Delta Onix, Zippy, or Princess, which he'll flatly deny hosting on the grounds of his prior reasoning from last night. Figured that they would have ended up choosing Koa, but hey, who can resist playing around with a Wobbufett?)

(As for posting, can't really do that right now as I have work to do, but generally speaking: Ven reacts favorably/curiously to the addition of Inflitrator Absol to the party, he's curious/perplexed by the Sableye Ditto but chooses to keep his comments to himself, and is agreeable to hosting all but Delta Onix/Zippy/Princess if approached by Nathan about hosting another Pokemon. He also approves of Mr. Finder now having meet him.)

I am going to ouright say that Nathan is NOT loaning Grid to Ventus, period.  And he's not even considering loaning him the bees either.  No bugs for him.  Nathan isn't loaning Ventus Ditto either.

Valder gets Starmie so he has a Water type still. No changes there.

Nathan could MAYBE lend Ventus Yule.  But that one point of Disobedience might be a problem if anyone but Shiva or Nathan has him.  Unless Ventus can give Yule tips on how he might catch Swiftfire's attention, maybe?  Then he could probably be convinced to behave himself 100% of the time instead of 50% of the time.

Wait, why the heck not? I understand not sharing the bees, but Ven wouldn't treat the spider poorly at all, and IC + OOC he's literally the best choice to host Ditto due to having Max Insight/Being well researched on them, so I'm just plain confused now.

Ven probably wouldn't use Yule at all, and only have him ready for Nathan to use as necessary if added. He already has Michael as his go to Grass type, so the only thing he'd use Yule for is as a mount maybe.

My character will generally accept a Pokemon on loan from anyone that has extra and willing to part with them/they are not overly Disobedient, but if not he'll just go into the mountain with 5 Slots and keep one open 'just in case'.
