"Alright.  Well, if you do think of something, let me know, alright?"

Nathan ponders something for a moment...and comes to a decision.

"...just out of c-curiosity...are you familiar with who Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf are?"

Snivy shakes his head.

Oversized Furret has never ever been here, and is as wonderstruck as you are. Cottonee loves it, and is collecting scents on her fur from everything in the cavern - including a lot of Oddish seeds, whether she likes it or not. She flits between natural wonders and her dancing master.

Furret takes the jar and sweeps it over some of the shadowy tendrils around the big fern. Astonishingly, they persist, creating a tiny moonlight/darkness cycle within the jar.

Other things you might take are frosty pebbles, shed 'pine needles' from Snover, fallen Chingling ribbons or Weavile feathers, and rusty clay.

This close to the Fern, she can see that it has that same pattern of dots sported by the Weavile following her. The Fern is DEFINITELY the source of the sentinel feeling. Now that she thinks about it, and with max Insight, she has felt that feeling in various places within Mt. Sentry - whenever she sees a Furret, a Sentret, a Patrat, even such manmade things as the Shrine and the Candelabra. Those elements barely tickle her sixth sense, but in this place it's almost overwhelming.

The Pokemon all have specific tasks and relevant personalities. Obviously the Weavile guardians are distrustful. The Torterra are generally too busy to take much notice. The smaller Pokemon act peaceably. It's possible few of them have ever seen a human before.

Ventus patrols the cavern, looking for Shedinja. I'm guessing he's too unnerved to venture toward the giant fern at this point. Malphena comes with him, and when she figures out what he's seeking, she gestures with one ghostly tendril on down the tunnel.

She smiles that extra special smile again, and gives Ventus a reassuring swoop. You think she's trying to tell you it will all work out.

There are a few little tunnels that could have once held a frosty Nincada, though.

If you wanted to observe any Pokemon a little bit, you could do that too.

Heart is walking between the Snover in their circle. It seems they are all Ingrained, their own roots meshing with those of the Fern in mutual symbiosis. They inspect Heart as he inspects them - and then some Patrat pop out and start inspecting Heart even more.

Neither species seems to have ever seen a human.

It looks like the Snover had little berries on them recently, but the Patrats' stuffed cheek pouches hint that the berries may have been eaten and are now stored as seeds.

Your own Patrat chatters with the Snover rats, and gains +1 Happiness.

A Bulbasaur crawls up the wall nearby like a gecko. It doesn't seem to have any tasks in mind; it's just making its slow way somewhere.

Ventus was momentarily startled by his screaming banshee's compassionate affections, as he doesn't recall her being the one to initiate such things, that feeling soon faded as he started to fondly chuckle, and returned her gesture by musing her hair with a smile.

"Thank you, Malphena. This sacred place.....well, I'm more than a little out of my element here, truth be told, but with you by my side I feel much more at ease. He he he.....ironic that you of all Ghost types would bring me peace of mind and comfort, but that just shows how surprising you can be, my lovely little spirit...."

Raphael, feeling a little left out of the touching moment and desiring such camaradence themselves, decided to float on over to their father's side and let out a entreating coo, which swiftly earned them his attention and loving carasses, much to their delight!

"Yes, yes, I can't forgot to share some love with my precious child, now can't I? After all, if it wasn't for your presence in my life, I'd be far poor for it, my child....."

Once everyone got their fill of TLC, the sociologist turns towards the tunnel his 'horrifying' little sister had indicated that Shedinja had wandered down, before looking towards her and his cherished cherub with an inquisitive look.

"So Shedinja went further on ahead, hmm? In that case, let's give chase after it, shall we? I'll send a voice message to everyone that we're moving on ahead to set up camp in addition to tracking it down, as I don't want it to forever lag behind it or, Reshirim forbid, let it escape us altogether! That, and the sooner I depart from this local, the sooner I can regain my serenity, and I have the most endurance out of everyone here, so this is nice course of action in my opinion."

Saying that, he then pulls out his phone and records a brief message to all : "My companions, I wish to inform you that I will be going onwards in pursuit of a Shedinja I found earlier, and to set up camp up ahead. Between all my family member and my own fortitude I will be perfectly fine in doing this, so please don't fret over my abscene! If anything befalls me, though, my sister Malphena will rush off to gather and request you aid. Until we reunite, stay safe and well." If all the groups phones don't work/have short range connections, he just take 4 pieces of paper from his satchel and write the same message on them, before giving them to Raphael to give them out to all before returning to their father's side. Regardless, after word has been sent out, the researcher and his flying tag team promptly journeyed down the tunnel that was indicated that Shedinja went down, eager to both find it and escape The Central Fern's domain.....

Order: Have a moment with Malphena and Raphael, before going after Shedinja while informing the group of his decision/plans! He both really want the chance to study/capture Shedinja and really doesn't want to linger in this place, so this approach kill multiple birds with one stone! Of course he'll be alone, but he's made up of enough stern stuff to take it.....I hope!

Phones don't work here. Sending a Pokemon to Bill's PC seems to be the only signal that gets through.

Malphena puts out another tendril, not to bar your way, but to tell you not to worry, not to be too anxious or hasty.

Also, Raphael is bobbing at your shoulder, seeming to be asking permission to explore the cavern (possibly after delivering the messages?). He knows you are eager to leave, though, and doesn't seem like he'll be upset if you and he need to move on .

Then written messages it will be!

The admitidly antsy researcher grasped her tendril, giving them an thankful smile for as he rubbed it. "......For me, its hard not to always be on guard or wary, especially in such a....place like this, but I'm trying for everyone's sake. I would rather move on than get to worked up here, though, but I promise that I'll be quite calm, meticulous, and careful as I go, Malphena."

His archangel's request to explore the cavern came as a bit of a surprise to Ven, and caused a look of apprehension to flash across his face, before he let out a small sigh and nodded his head. "You have my permission to explore this place however long you wish after you deliever those messages, my child. However, I will still be going on ahead with Malphena and Lucifer, so when you are finished go to Shiva's side, as I don't want you trailing after me alone and she could use your support. Is that alright, my child?

Order: Still going on ahead, but letting Raphael explore the place all they want with orders to go and stay with Shiva until the group catches up to him, while he summons Lucifer in their place. Just because he doesn't want to stick around doesn't mean he'll deny his child the chance!

When Raphael returns after the cavern encounter, he has +1 Happiness, unless Shiva screws it up somehow. (just kidding, Phantom)

Raphael relishes the feeling of guardianship inside the fern room. To him, it's a very neutral guardianship, neither good nor evil. Just...watchful.

Now that Shiva has arrived and followed that calling head-first and with gusto, the Central Fern somewhat turned completely silent, and so did the screams and pleads to follow the call within her.

She stared up to this wonder of nature.
It stared back at her.
It SMILED BACK at her, it READS her, it was silently saying 'welcome. I'm glad you came.' to her - either that, or Shiva has gone completely mad and the feels have drowned her.

She didn't make a move now that she arrived. She simply....soaks up all the emotions she can detect and handle just like dearest Cottonee did with the scents, her unconscious mind seemed to know how much she could 'take' to not be overwhelmed. She knows this protective feeling, indeed, but before she came here, she would have never believed that THIS was the source of all. How miraculous... Who needs the surface when it's so peaceful down here? No nightmares from up there linger down here. No issues, no problems. In this rare opportunity, Shiva experiences pure happiness for only a few moments, but these moments were more sweet that she could have imagined.

Only when Cottonee oftly landed on her head and let a small cloud of Oddish seed rain down on her and Furret chirped at her and offered her her glas jar back, Shiva perked up and returned from that slight stupor, and with a expression of FLARING AMAZEMENT she accepted her glass jar back. This shadowy circle thing in there.... A look back at the Central Fern, then at the jar, then at Furret, and Shiva understood. ".....Furret........ You're a genius. Thank you....from my whole heart.... I dunno HOW you did that, but you deserve everything you could ask for for this stunt." What this light-and-dark-circle means, she has no idea, but this was like the ULTIMATE SOUVENIR she could get. Hopefully she can ever find out the meaning behind that 'thing', and hopefully it doesn't escape/vaporate/whatever when Shiva opens the jar to mist it daily. Does it...have to do with that Pokemon that possibly bears that marking? Which one, she's not yet sure though.

Now then... snow was a rarity for her, so she's all up for a light walk through it, in totaly she probably didn't make more than 100meter (definitely not 'exploring'). But what she did, was a snowangel. ^^ She doesn't mind the snow on her Cloak and hair, at best it's only adding to her joy.

Along the way, she indeed collected all the mentioned things: A few of these frosty pebbles to add them to the jar, a few of the 'needles' from Snower, wonderful Weavile feathers (simply by comparing their size and texture, Shiva was able to determine whether they're from a male or a female exemplar), and a few of these Chingling ribbons. About that rusty claw she pondered, but by all means she has no idea what this stuff does here, so out of curiosity she takes it too. It all gets safely packed away. I also forgot to ask, are these Chingling on the Central Fern 'normal' Chingling or *Chingling like those from the Horde Encounter?

Next: Reacting to Raphael to scew things up, and having Shiva 'awake' from this trance to prepare us for moving on.
