[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Dizzy nods and prepares himself with Sword Dance.

Infernape, Tropius, Raphael, and Michael move to pillars. They need Stealth checks to get there, but only two successes due to all the cover.
(5)(4)(4)(4)(6)(3)(3)(4)(2)(2)(3)
(5)(6)(4)(6)(4)(6)(5) He was the biggest worry due to his easily spotted size.
(6)(3)(3)(3)(6)(1)(3)(3)
(2)(2)(4)(6)(4)(6)(5)(2)

Those four Pokemon make it into position. Their trainers are close enough to give the command when it is time!

Valder (with Mr. Finder) sneaks to the entrance.
(3)(4)(2)(1)(1)(3)(3)(1)
But when he summons Mamo, the bugs decide he's worthy of attention! That situation will have to be dealt with. Hopefully he can time it with the collapsing of the Yellow Tunnel.

Lucifer, disguised in Hive Gunk and under the tutelage of Nathan, who is leading with those Baashaun Boots, has a very real advantage over the confident Bug Queen. He's nervous about going directly into the lair of such a powerful enemy, but his altitude gives him another advantage.

5 Dex, 3 survival, 2 stealth, 2 tailwind, (2 helping hand), +1 Baashaun, (+2 Calam). Dizzy's greater stealth cancels his lesser dex.
(6)(1)(1)(5)(3)(6) (1)(1)(5)(4)(4)(2) (6)(3)(2) +1 gunk = 6 successes on a less-than-great roll for Lucifer.

Dizzy and Calam nod to each other and leap forward on feline paws to where Nathan directs. As Dark types they are particularly vulnerable to Seikamater, but Calam has enough confidence to inspire Dizzy. It's pretty amazing how much the younger Absol respects the older, scarred one.

(2)(2)(1)(5)(2)(1) (6)(5)(6)(4)(6)(6) (6)(1)(3)(2)(5) +1 = 9 successes for Calam
(3)(2)(3)(3)(2)(6) (2)(5)(3)(5)(3)(1) (5)(6)(6) = 6 successes for Dizzy

Azumarill leads Gustav to a position where they can Bubble the snipers.

(4)(2)(1)(5)(2) - 2 successes (no HH on herself, of course)
(5)(6)(2)(2)(2)(3)(4)(2)(1) (6)(5) = 5 successes

That's all the Helping Hand empowered stealths! Let's see what the bugs think.

Seikamater's Alert is partly plot-deviced. She's just eaten, so that's less dice. You're coming from above, that's less dice. Your scents are masked, which makes this POSSIBLE at all. She senses mostly with her antennae.

She needs less than 6 successes on 10 dice to not notice anyone this Surprise round.

(2)(4)(2)(2)(5)(2)(1)(6)(4)(2) = 4 successes!

Firoke need to get 2 successes to notice Azumarill and 5 to notice Gustav. 3 Dex + 3 Survival + 1 Alert.
(1)(5)(4)(4)(3)(2)(1) = 2 successes.

That was a lot of rolls with only 2 failures! Everyone is now in position. Ventus gives the nod!

Of the 8 captured Pokemon in webs, which ones are getting Air Cutters in the surprise round, and which will get hit with Razor Wind after it's done charging? (It'll be ready to go as action 1 of Round 1!)

Nathan's nervous about directly heading into the lair too.  He's easily in the most dangerous position right now...but he HAS to save Ralts and everyone else...

Nathan waits for the signal from Ventus...then silently gives a signal to Lucifer!  Fingers crossed this will go well...this HAS to work...

Air Cutter!
Accuracy: 7* Dex + 3 Fight + 3 Canalize + 1 Wide Lens = 14 D6 base (the full 14 for the surprise round!  11 Base for the first Air Cutter of the 1st round since we'll go with 3 actions to be on the safe side.  Probably all going to be Air Cutters until everyone's free)
Damage: 2 Power + 3 Strength + STAB - 1 Defense + SE = 5 D6 + 1 Damage
Effect: Crits with 4 successes!
Note: 6+ successes on damage instantly destroys those bonds if we get that lucky!

Air Cutter will target the webs holding Ralts (but of course), Solomon (Power Gem and Hidden Power!), Slurpuff (HAVE to free this one as well), Growlithe (Fire type, even if it isn't as strong as everyone else), and Turiel (Digging power, needs to be recalled ASAP).  If any of these targets are freed, the order of priority for the remaining three will be Zippy, Yena, then Raticate.

Calam will use a Razor Wind on the webs holding ZippyYenaRaticate, (the three that have yet to get hit) Ralts, and Slurpuff (the absolutely necessary two).  Dizzy I technically don't have control over, but if he'll follow the suggestion to follow Calam's lead on this, great!  If any of these targets are freed already, the order of priority for the remaining three will be SolomonGrowlithe, then Turiel.

Razor Wind!
Accuracy: 8* Dex + 3 Fight + 3 Brawl (according to the book and my notes, now that I look at it again...it's 3 either way and doesn't matter right now, but I might have done it wrong previously...) - 3 Actions (not sure what to tell Calam to do for his other 2 actions...maybe use Night Slash if there are still trapped pokemon?) = 11 D6 for Calam's first action of Round 1
Damage: 5* Strength + 3 Power - 1 Defense = 7 D6
Effect: Crits with 3 successes for both Absol due to Super Luck!

So...here we go.  Music time. (it was a 50-50 between the other four players, so here's both themes!).  Until we see what happens with the Surprise Round and/or the first set of actions in Round 1, I'm not sure what orders should be given, exactly...other than trying to book it instead of directly engaging Seikamater once everyone's free and recalled! Hope everyone's paying enough attention to get everyone recalled. Nathan will probably yell to get everyone's attention if he has to in order to ensure everyone gets recalled ASAP.

Defying The Queen's Will:
 - Battle with Zavok - Sonic Forces (this is that more unique one I mentioned! The boss fights you with a swarm of mechanical bees and is riding atop the 'queen'!)
 - Pokemon Uranium Boss Battle - VS Mewtwo from Pokemon Origins (the good ol' classic)

This is about to get chaotic.

(I'm not exactly sure what should be my Pokémon orders's either, but since Calam/Dizzy have to wait until the First Action of Round 1, Raphael and Michael will be using Rock Smash to topple those Pillars straight on Seika, assuming that we manage to free ALL of our Pokémon. Otherwise (As in not all our Pokémon are freed/would get hit by the Pillars collapse too), Michael will use Stone Edge on Sieka and Raphael will use Air Slash on her in the hopes of Flitching. I'm all for fleeing once we free all our Pokémon and recall them, though, as fighting her if its not necessary is a Bad Idea with captical letters and bolded! )

Calam: (4) + 10 + 2* = 16
Dizzy: (2) + 8 + 2* = 12
Lucifer: (1) + 10* = 11
Gustav: (1) + 6 = 7

Seikamater Surprise Round

Air Cutter
(6)(3)(2)(4)(3)(3) (5)(2)(3)(6)(6)(1) (6)(3)
(1)(2)(6)(4)(4)(4)(3) Raltsweb, Solomonweb, Slurpuffweb, Growlitheweb, and Turielweb take 5 dmg. 2/7hp -2 restrain strength?

The eyes of Seikamater are upon you! A chill runs down your spine and you almost flee right then and there! Nathan loses 1 Will Point.

The Pokemon quail, but the Razor Winds are already charged and it's too late to back out now! The captive Pokemon are struggling against their bonds and against new waves of pheromones from Seikamater! The Bug types are the first to be affected, and then the Psychics soon after.

Bubble
(2)(6)(1)(4)(4)(4) (6)(5)(1) Critical hit.
(2)(2)(5)(6)(3)(1)(6) Firoke all take 4 dmg 3/7hp -2 pain.

More initiatives:
Firoke sentries: (3) + 6 = 9
Seikamater's initiative is always 8
Azumarill: (1) + 5 = 6

(Shouldn't the After You Buff Raphael gave everyone bring them to the top of the Initiative when the battles starts, or are we not counting that due to reasons?)

Round 1

Have more Will points where that came from, queeny!  Nathan's not going to run just yet!  And he will.  Not.  Bow.

In fact, he yells instead.  "Now!  Recall them as soon as they're free!  Resist her influence with everything you have, and don't leave yourselves open!!!"  (that last part is mostly to assure our pokemon that we're here and to warn Dizzy to not try charging another Razor Wind, since that's asking for trouble)

Hopefully everyone can distract Seika enough to keep her from crushing Nathan outright...

Razor Wind!
Accuracy: 14* - 3 = 11
Damage: 5* + 3 - 1 = 7 D6
Effect: 3 success crit!

Night Slash x2 (if there are still trapped pokemon)
Accuracy: 14 - 4/5 = 10/9 D6
Damage: 5* + 3 + STAB + BG - 1 = 9 D6
Effect: Same as Razor Wind!

Air Cutter x3 (as long as there are still trapped pokemon)
Accuracy: 14* - 3/4/5 = 11/10/9
Damage: 5 D6 + 1 damage
Effect: 4 success crit!

Priority list for what order we're freeing everyone in should be the same.  As soon as everyone is free and recalled, we're booking it as long as that's a possibility!  Any leftover actions can also go straight to Evading once everyone is free!

Evade: Dex + Fight + Evade - ? Actions  (Does Wide Lens give this a +1 as well?)

Seikamater Round 1

Razor Wind 1
(4)(4)(3)(5)(4)(4) (3)(2)(1)(3)(6) Critical hit.
(2)(2)(6)(5)(1)(5)(1)(6)(3) The first batch of webs is torn to shreds! Solomon, Slurpuff, Growlithe, Turiel, and yes, Ralts, zoom back to their Pokeballs!

Seikamater SKREEEEEEEEEEEES! The very walls shake! The Firoke on the walls open fire!

Razor Wind 2
10* dice -2 actions
(1)(5)(5)(6)(1)(2)(5)(5)
(6)(5)(3)(1)(1)(2)(6)(4)(4) Zippy, Yena, and Raticate's webs take 5 dmg! They appear instantly in their temporary owners' hands.

Seikamater begins to drool a foul-smelling liquid. She goes running toward the wall of her lair and ascends it like a demon, leaving sticky strands as she goes and pumping her wings for balance. Wherever her face turns, Pokemon and trainers freeze in fear and find their Will deserting them.

The Firoke sentries are first to respond to her call!

Heat Wave A&B
10 dice -2 pain -1 acc
(1)(1)(6)(5)(5)(1)(1) It barely hits.
3 Str + 3 power +1 STAB -3 vit = 4d6
(3)(1)(1)(6)
Burn: (3)
Lucifer makes a daring dive behind the bulk of Seikamater to make sure the sentries can't target him with Heat Wave! Calam and Dizzy come pouncing out through the flames in unison, leaping up to escape the pit which will soon be filled with a hail of sharp rocks!

Bubble 1 (initiatives revised somewhat this time thanks to After You)
9 dice -3 actions = 6d6
(5)(6)(2)(2)(5)(4)
(6)(3)(6) The Firoke take 3 dmg and faint.

As Calam reaches the lip of the cavern, Seikamater rears back, clinging to the cliff with Her rear legs and snapping with Her front claws! He Evades the claws, but tiny Tricwe, Durant, Smore, and other half-formed, mutated bugs appear and instantly cover every wound She inflicts! They gnaw relentlessly. To look upon them is to be sickened. To confront Seikamater in Her fury is to be thrown prostate before her, your mind a pretzel of pheromones and unworthiness!

Evade: (2)(5)(4)(1)(2)(4)(2)(2) Not a crit despite Super Luck.

Calam is hit with a Legendary Bug-type attack! He's sent sprawling in pain, sores blossoming all over his body, muscles trembling. When he tries to get up, the full measure of the attack has unfurled, and he passes out. His muscle and fat starts to dwindle before your eyes until you can count his ribs and see his cheekbones in sharp relief. Even his horn droops.

Calam takes (6*)+1 = 2 points of Plot Device Damage. Brought instantly to 1 hp, then 0hp + 1 point of Lethal damage.
(Wide Lens is only for moves)

Boosted by After You and, for some, a Tailwind, Gustav and Azumarill can flee! Tropius, Michael, Raphael, and Rose stand ready at the pillars, urging everyone on!

Next She goes for Lucifer, a flying type she hates!

He gets an evasion chance: 12* dice -4 actions. Needs a crit.
(1)(1)(5)(6)(5)(4)(3)(2)

As Lucifer flees, wings extended to their fullest, Seikamater glances his way and a storm brews in his path.
He is struck by Thunder, a bolt blazing from all the yellow parts of Seikamater combined into one!

Much like Calam, he's sent spinning. When he lands, it looks like he's lost most of his fur, but he's conscious.
Lucifer takes 1 points of Plot Device damage thanks to his typing. He's at 1hp and he will take lethal damage after an hour.

Lucifer and Calam are unconscious or maimed but (barely) free of Seikamater's Palace. She is on the wall of said Palace, screeching and preparing more lethal attacks. Ventus worries she could be preparing a devastating Legendary spread move like he has seen Silverfish use.

The bugs between the Palace and the Yellow Tunnel are awake and alerted to you, but most are still carrying out the tasks assigned to them. The situation is getting worse, though, because Yanma are zipping back and forth dropping new reinforcements!

The majority of the insects are the three Tandor bugs.

Round 2
All 8 captive pokemon have been recalled!  Time to run, everyone!!

Nathan IMMEDIATELY recalls Calam and Lucifer!!!  He'll have to treat those wounds later!!!  Swiftfire is sent out and Nathan's mounted her faster than anyone can blink!

"We'll be on our merry way now, Seikamater.  I hope we never have to see each other ever again.  Dizzy, let's get out of here as fast as we possibly can!" (that should tell him to flee with Quick Attack!)

Nathan runs as soon as he's recalled both injured pokemon (Calam first, obviously) and told Dizzy to do the same.  He has no intention to fight Seikamater if it can be avoided, and he'd much rather be close to opponents he can actually fight if he has to do battle.

Quick Attack!  (Should only need the 1 action to escape!)
Accuracy: 7* + 3 + 3 = 13 D6 (if it matters. Not trying to actually hit anything accurately, just using the move)
Damage: Irrelevant for once!
Effect: +1 Priority and double your top speed for the duration of the move!  Seika can't catch targets moving at 120+ kmph!  They'll be long gone and out of range before she can react!

Time to go meet up with Valder and Mr. Finder by those lesser bugs! Hopefully there aren't too many of them so far...
