Oh. Respectfully and partly in apology, Shiva bowed again to this Slowking. Can't do that often enough, and it just shows respect to this particular exemplar in her view! Respect that it rightfully deserves. "That means that I - we - will see when being there, I'll surely think back to you shall I meet the presence of this 'one', wise Slowking. I thank thee again for your shared quotes." She doesn't have more to ask, and perks up in newly awoken hope and determination to march on - to the stone! Haaah, now that they're close and there are Apricorns, her eager has received a new spark that fueled her.

Ventus' deeply disappointed and resigned stare was met with her own calm and even........lightly compassionate look before she smiles softly to him and looks back to Slowking before them. If her love does not desire to be changed (for reasons she can actually understand, given he has shared the trigger for his paranoia and fear of the arcane) and chooses to keep his point, she - and everyonelse - do have to accept this, whether they agree or not. She certainly does, even if she doesn't do so at once and will need a bit of time to process this. But she expresses this acceptance by whispering a dear "Whatever happens or happens not, Ven.... Know that nothing can change the fact that I'll stay yours and by your side. Please....don't leave my side after this change."

Nathan's been taking some careful notes on what Slowking has been saying as well.  (Note to self: evolving a Slowpoke into Slowking near Atheneum likely imparts knowledge of the original contents of 'The Gauntlet' and a limited ability to speak via quoting the text.)

"...doesn't sound like the author included any information on what exactly is guarding Atheneum, nor what exact capabilities he or she gained from the Gauntlet.  We do know that Atheneum holds enough knowledge to found a kingdom, possibly more on topics that are a near unsolvable mystery.  We also know that whatever the Gauntlet does to those who heed its call, it supposedly...'breaks their limits'.  And it's related to Earthpower, which makes a great deal of sense, I suppose...repeated references to Elder, Legend, Time...I would think that suggests there's definitely a Legendary involved...which again, makes sense if there's a Relic Stone involved in all of this...and the Stone is related to the Gauntlet in some way...we also know the Gauntlet isn't what tests those who pass this way, it's the Guardians of Atheneum that do...which makes sense, considering Bridge said Atheneum has the power to judge those who seek it, and that's in line with what the author of the text is saying..."

Intuitively, she lets her head hang a little in worry and misery, but only a few moments later she perks up again and mets him with an understanding smile. Him honestly trying is the most he can do, and she greatly appreciates it. 'Please....don't let all this drive a sharp wedge of untrust and lost familiarity between us.......' is what rings within her mind.

He does, but he also remains rather withdrawn despite the contact. After hearing what The Gauntlet was and his girlfriend acceptance of it and all that came with it, he wasn't in the mood for much socializing. Which coming from the resident sociologist and first empath, was saying something.

"There's no evidence to show that picture at the Sentry Shrine is related.  If you remember what the old man said, though, Earthpower is present in basically everything, so it's no surprise that there are particularly strong sources of it hidden away."
