[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

The Reuniclus are slow to move and slow to react, given their linked nature. But as you begin to launch attacks, you can see how powerfully strong this makes them.

Reuniclus Horde Round 1

Cottonee obeys Nathan as she was told. She launches an attack, then floats to Ditto. Under Nathan's direction, she takes more risks and launches more attacks with more precision. Of course, she uses her fae skills sharpened under Shiva to get past the barriers and such.
Giga Drain 1
(5)(3)(1)(1)(5)(4)(3)(5)
(1)(6)(2)(6) Reuniclus C takes 2 dmg 7/9hp -1 pain.

Malphena considers the mobile neural system carefully.
Nasty Plot 1
(2)(3)(5)(3)(5)
+2 Str for Malphena
She observes them from different angles, as though she thinks there is more to them than meets the eye.

Haunter just floats right through the pillars and heaves ho. No strategy, just strength...and precision.
Shadow Ball 1
(5)(4)(1)(3)(4)
5 Str + 3 power +1 STAB -4vit = 5d6+1-1
(2)(6)(4)(2)(5) Reuniclus C takes 3 dmg 4/9hp -2 pain.
CD: (2)

Phantom Force 1
The big tree Pokemon fades out of sight.

Transform 1
Ditto became Tropius, helping the trainers and Pokemon escape the coming devastation.

Tailwind 1
(3)(4)(3)(3)(4)(6) (1)
The pillars break up the battlefield into discrete sections - aboveground, anyway! +2 Dex for Lucifer, Tropius, Malphena, Gustav, and Cottonee fit on this particular area.

Crunch 1 - Lethal
(4)(1)(2)(2)(2)
7d6 dmg, -4 vit = 3d6 -1 cover (for Brawlers) = 2d6 +0
(4)(6) Reuniclus C takes 2 lethal dmg 2/9hp -2 pain.
CD: (4)

Mightyena tears out a huge chunk, which begins sealing off to avoid losing any more liquid. He feels 100% safe from these foes.
The foe doesn't flinch or let go of its allies. They're all together charging an attack.

Eat a berry 1
(4)(1)(3) Shiva speedily chomps down half the Nanab berry and swaps it with Tropius' held item. That'll come in handy later.

Razor Leaf 1
(4)(4)(1)(3)(2)
Can't do any damage without a crit, however.

Once everyone has mounted on Mamoswine, the earth shakes! Three mounts takes care of all six trainers + Cottonee. The ghosts are safe for various reasons, leaving only Mightyena and Gustav as vulnerable allies.

Earthquake
(6)(4)(4)(5)(5)(2)(6)(2) Critical hit.
5 Str + 4 power +1 stab +2 crit -4 vit = 8d6 dmg
(2)(2)(1)(2)(5)(5)(2)(5) Mightyena and Gustav take 3 dmg.
Reuniclus take 2 dmg each.

The one in the middle finally falters. The connection is severed! Psychic energy crackles between the Reuniclus, who let go and transition to their plan B. They all look back to full health, fully inflated as it were, but their aura is noticeably weaker when separated. Reuniclus C maintains 2 lethal damage. 9/9/7/9/9

The Reuniclus close with one trainer apiece, ignoring Mr. Finder. Your Pokemon all move to protect their own trainers (except Cottonee, who looks a little torn).
This setup negates their cover, but the Reflects and Light Screens move and stretch with their bearers.

Bubbles 1
(5)(1)(6)(6)(6)(2)
(5)(4) Reuniclus take 1 dmg 8/8/6/8/8
CD: (4)

Solosis tries to climb out of the backpack, of course, and Nathan grapples it.

Grapple
(2)(1)(3)(2)(1)(6) (5)(5)(4)(1)(4) Nathan puts Solosis in a headlock. Since it's just a head, that's pretty easy to do.

The Reuniclus seem more flexible when separated, but not nearly as strong or focused.
Psychic 1 on Ditto, Misdreavus, Haunter, Gustav, Tropius
4* Dex + 3 Fight + 3* Canalize -2 actions = 8d6
(2)(3)(3)(5)(3)(2)(4)(3)
(2)(3)(5)(2)(5)(5)(5)(5) Crit
(4)(4)(1)(2)(2)(5)(1)
(4)(3)(2)(2)(3)(1)(3)(6)
(6)(2)(2)(4)(3)(1)(5)(3)
3* Str + 3 power +1 STAB
(3)(2)(3)(4), (6) Ditto takes 1 dmg, -1 def as the psychic attack throws him off balance.
(2)(4)(5)(6), (1) Misdreavus takes 3 dmg
(4)(5)(1)(2), (1) Haunter takes 3 dmg
(6)(3)(3), (6) Gustav takes 1 dmg and -1def
(4)(6)(2), (6) Real Tropius takes 2 dmg and -1 def

Giga Drain 2
(1)(4)(3)(6)(2)(5)(1)(4)(1)
(3)(3)(4)(2) Reuniclus A takes 1 dmg 7/9hp
7/8/6/8/8

Since the battle has devolved into five separate ones, Hex will be a stronger strategy, and Ventus correctly recognized this in his orders.
Confuse Ray 2
(4)(6)(3)(2)(6)(2)(6)
Reuniclus B is confused!

Shadow Ball 2
(2)(6)(5)
(4)(6)(5)(4)(6) Reuniclus C takes 5 dmg!
7/8/1/8/8

Where a normal Pokemon would run away, this one does not, as you might expect.

Phantom Force 2
(6)(5)(2)(4)
(5)(1)(5) Reuniclus D takes 2 dmg as the ghost Pokemon begins growing roots out of thin air to choke it.
7/8/1/6/6

Razor Leaf 2
(3)(2)(5)(6)(1)(3)
(6)(4)(6) Reuniclus A takes 2 dmg
5/8/1/6/6

In the columns of pillars, Lucifer finds it is all he can do to maintain his current Tailwind. He does so, but the howling gale he wants falls silent in the strange tunnel unless he keeps working at it.
Tailwind 2
(1)(1)(3)(6)(5)(3)(5)(6)
Tailwind renewed on same targets

Crunch 2
(1)(2)(1)(2) It's a miss - Mightyena bounces off the Barrier as it swings to block him.

Razor Leaf 2
(5)(1)(5)(3)
(5)(2) No damage.

Bubbles 2
(6)(6)(2)(1)
(6)(1) No damage. All the bubbles just pop on the pillars.
(6) However, Reuniclus D loses 1 dex
5/8/1/6D/6

Psychic 2 on Ditto, Misdreavus, Haunter, Gustav, Tropius
4* Dex + 3 Fight + 3* Canalize -3 actions = 7d6 and pain
(4)(6)(1)(2)(3)(5)
(6)(1)(6)(4)(2)(1)(2)
(3)(3)(1)(1) Miss on Haunter
(5)(6)(1)(5)(3)(5)
(5)(4)(5)(5)(3)(1)
(4)(1)(3)(5)(2) Ditto takes 2 dmg 6/9hp
(4)(3), (1) Misdreavus takes 1 dmg 4/8hp -2 pain
(6)(3)(2)(4) Gustav takes 2 dmg 2/8hp -2 pain
(3)(6)(3)(6) Real Tropius takes 2 dmg

You're still corralled into various corners, but the foe is weakening!
Giga Drain 3
(6)(3)(5)(1)(5)(2)
(4)(3)(3)(3) Reuniclus A takes 1 dmg
4/8/1/6D/6

Hex 3

4/3/1/6D/6

Shadow Ball 3
(1)(4)
(4)(4)(4)(2)(4) Reuniclus C faints and will continue to take lethal damage.
4/3/0/6D/6

Phantom Force 3
Bye! If anything, Trevenant finds it easier to sneak around in the echoing chamber. Certain noises are calmed, others are echoed - the result is either silence or harsh disturbance.

Razor Leaf 3
(6)(4)(3)(4)
(4)(5)(3) Reuniclus A takes 1 dmg
3/3/0/6D/6

Tailwind 3
(5)(4)(5)(6)(1)(4)(6)

Crunch 3
(1)(6)(2)
(1)(6)(6)
CD: (1) Reuniclus E takes 2 dmg - not sure if lethal?
3/3/0/6D/4

Natural Gift 3
(2)(6)(3)
(6)(5) Reuniclus E takes 2 dmg from the flung berry.
3/3/0/6D/2

Bubbles 3
(2)(4)
(4)(3) No damage again.

Phantom Force 4
(4)(6)
(6)(4)(1) Reuniclus D takes 2 dmg
3/3/0/4D/2

4 Reuniclus are at -2 pain. One is dying.
You can move to go help someone else if you succeed on an Alert check at -2. This is to figure out where they are in the cacophony, with no visibility between pillars.

Valder is on Mamo, Shiva is on Tropius, Nathan is on Ditto, I'm not sure which mounts Ventus and Heart are on but if you share a mount you don't need to travel.

"Gustav return now! You already did a good job!" Heart return the cannon pokemon. "Koa! Release your claws and show your fury!" Koa came ready to shread those Reuniclus to pieces. "Alright. Koa, use Dragon Dance, then go ahead with your new move, Assurance 2x! Viktor! Prepare to use Phantom Force 2x! (Give me strength to that attack finish them @PhantomUnderYourDesk!) and prepare to use again if necessary!"

Dragon Dance Accuracy: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Perfomance (0) - Actions (3) = 3d6
Effect: Raise STR and Dex

Assurance Accuracy: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Brawl (3) - Actions (4/5) = 5d6/4d6
Damage: Power (2) + STR (3) + SE (1) = 5d6+1
Effect: If the user receive damage, add 2 Damage Dice in the move pool. It will work very well with these Earthquakes. Dont forget the Razor Claw who is equiped with Koa who have 1D6 chance to flinch. Each hit.
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

"...I don't think you want to die, do you, Solosis? It's much safer for you here than it is anywhere else, so you're staying...right...here....stop...squirming.  I will KO you myself if I have to, so please save us both the trouble.  These are...not...who you should be following..."

Alright, Solosis is accounted for currently.  Though it does mean Nathan can't let go of it and thus can't use anything that would require hands...

"Cottonee, Ditto, keep chipping away at that Reuniclus!  It's almost down!  Solosis...stop squirming...I will hit you if you start attacking!  I don't want to, but I will!"

Presumably, Tropius Ditto is also not as far off the ground now that the Earthquake has stopped.  Ya know, just in case Ditto faints and reverts to being a plain ol' Ditto.

Giga Drain x3 again!
Accuracy: 5 Dex + 3 Fight + 3 Canalize - 3/4/5 Actions = 8/7/6 D6
Damage: 3 + 4 + STAB - 4 Defense - LS = 4 D6
Effect: HP drain!
Note: Infiltrator still putting in work!
Note 2: Bet Cottonee never expected she'd ever be moving that quickly when the Tailwind was up, either (7* Dex ahoy!)!

Razor Leaf x2!
Accuracy: 11 base - 1 Pain - 2/3 Actions - 1 Accuracy = 7/6 D6
Damage: 7 base - 4 Defense - LS = 3 D6 - 1 Damage
Effect: Crits with 4 successes!

If Solosis starts attacking, Nathan's gonna Strike it until it either stops or faints!  And if it escapes his grip, he'll attempt to Grapple it again instead!
Accuracy: 11 base - 2/3 Actions = 9/8 D6
Strike Damage: 4 Strength + 1 Power - 2 Defense = 3 D6 (ouch.  That's a lot, coming from a Strike)
Grapple Effect: Same as before!

And if Solosis is still hostile after Reuniclus A has fainted, then Cottonee can also join in on fainting it with her leftover attacks!

Ventus had a grin that almost dripped with pure malice when the combined assault of the group shattered the dug in defenses of those soulless green blobs, but that quickly reversed itself into a scowl of equal caliber when they somehow pulled off a full party Recover and patched themselves up, before they splintered off to deal with the group individually.  He was sorely tempted to start swearing vehemently in Japanesse at that turn of event and the fact that both Malphena and Lucifer were having a rough time than expect against those psychic menaces, but he managed to swallow such explosive rage and neatly dissembled it. Now was not the time for such Outrage, but instead cold deliberate action. He kept that in mind as bellowed out his next orders to his family members above the din of battle, his tone of voice filled with a cold, seething, and almost hallow fury towards the Reunicli.

"My sister, continue to Hex your given opponent , and don't stop until their is no trace of life left within the empty vessel. Brother, continued supporting the same Pokémon with Tailwinds, but stop doing so if Malphena falls to her opponent and instead finish what she started with repeated Bites. They are weak, Malphena , so finish them and end their horrific, twisted, and miserble excuses of life that these Scimitars bastardized into existence. Let this be the only mercy we show them. "

Order: Malphena will be using Hex 3 times per round on her target, and Lucifer will use Tailwind 4 Times per Round, with orders to switch to using Bite on them instead to finish them off. He will also swiftly swoop in to help savage Malphena's Reni if at least 1 other Reni falls besides them. Neither will stop attacking it until its dead, since Ven will not tolerate leaving such threats alive after they tried to brainwash the group and do who knows WHAT to them, and he considers it a form of mercy to free them from their hollow, empty, and almost entirely 'selfless' excuse that can barely be called life. Time to break out the germ x and sanitize the Reunicli, mates.

Moves:

Hex
Accuracy: *11D6 Dice - 2 Pain - 3/4/5 Actions = 6/5/4D6 Dice
Damage: 7D6 Damage, unless the first 2 Attacks Crit.
Effect: None.

Tailwind
Accuracy: 12D6 Base Dice - 4/5/6/7 Actions = 8/7/6/5D6 Dice
Effect: Known

Bite
Accuracy: Same as Tailwind
Damage: STR (4) + 2 + SE - Reflect/Light Screen - Vitality (3) = 3D6 Damage Dice
Effect: *Flitch 3*

Reuniclus Horde Round 2

Alright, let's see...
Yena's at -1 Pain, 5/8hp. Same penalty for Tropius, 6/10hp and -1 Defense.
'My' Reuniclus is at 2hp -2 Pain, and protected by Light Screen and Reflect, but both of my Pokemon act before it can do.

Only barely Shiva managed to watch as Yena obeyed and outright sank his razorsharp canine-teeth into one of the Reuniclus' body, did he manage to reach the actual Pokemon beneath all that green jelly? She didn't know as she intuitively janked her head and gaze away from the scene, causing her to be distracted from the ongoing battle for only a moment. However.......the fact that she couldn't hear nor feel a real reaction from the psychic blob (she expected....a cry at least....) brought her back, made her daring to take a careful look: The attacked Reuni just continued with what it was doing. Or preparing. It....didn't care...?

That WRATH within her received another fueling spark. Once more she was directly reminded that these precious Psychic Types were nothing more than a soulless husk, their own will has been obliterated, they were dead already...

....but why in pure Reshiram's holy truth was she still feeling this deep SORROW for them then?

She didn't quite understand right away, but there was no time to deal with that now. She luckily managed to pick her Tropius' intact Nanab Berry, but the fine taste of it didn't do a thing to cheer her up. The earth shaking one second later and her butterwolfly yelping over not being able to avoid being hit caused her to fully concentrate on bringing the foes down again and ignore the few more tears that she couldn't held back.

With fright she noticed that the foes somehow managed to recover themselves after the chain has been broken, but this also caught her interest... How did they do that?! She knew the species is known for being the strongest in psychic power when being linked with others of their kind, but...patching themselves up upon being de-linked.....?
Didn't matter though, they were coming and it's not yet over! D: Seems like now they aimed to target each of them one by one. As 'her' Reunuclus came closer than it should, Yena took a protective stance in front of Shiva and Mr. Finder on Tropius, dangerously baring his teeth at it. It didn't seem to react. "C........ C-Cottonee, please stick were you are! I'm...getting along, don't forfeit my previous order to you now just because they're coming for us in one now! Yena...*another toneless sob*... FAINT IT! Defeat it, knock it out, crunch it between your teeth and TEAR IT APART AND BRING DOWN YOUR PREY AFTERWARDS! Just...end it....feed on it then if you like. You, Tropius... aid him with a few gusts of wind. Let us just finish things..."

----------------------
Orders for this Round: Just fainting 'my' Reuniclus, 2 points of damage are needed unless it somehow pulls off a Recover before. No lethal Crunches this time and Shiva is not cruel, she will stop attacking the moment Reuniclus goes down. However, Yena has received direct orders to kill and devour (lick up its remains?) it once it is KO. If Tropius has still actions left then and the others are still battling, I'm all down to help, although the chance that Shiva will succeed on the Alert -2 Check are not too high, depending which other Stats are rolled out. Still worth trying, though!

Yena
Accuracy Roll Crunch 1: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3*Brawl - 1 Pain - 2 Actions = 5d6
Accuracy Roll Crunch 2: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3*Brawl - 1 Pain - 3 Actions = 4d6
Damage Roll: 3 Strength + 3 Power of the move + 1 STAB = 7d6, the SE-autodamage is nullyfied by Reflect.
Additional notes: 1 CD to lower its Defense by 1.

Tropius
Accuracy Roll Gust 1: 5* Dext if Lucifer pulls off that Tailwind + 2 Fight + 4 Channel - 1 Pain - 3 Actions = 7d6
Accuracy Roll Gust 2: 5* Dext if Lucifer pulls off that Tailwind + 2 Fight + 4 Channel - 1 Pain - 4 Actions = 6d6
Accuracy Roll Gust 3: 5* Dext if Lucifer pulls off that Tailwind + 2 Fight + 4 Channel - 1 Pain - 5 Actions = 5d6
Damage Roll: 3 Strength + 2 Power of the move + 1 STAB = 6d6 -1 autodamage due to Light Screen
Additional notes: None, just more wind. All my moves except 2nd Crunch are having Crit Chance, cool.

Haunter uses Shadow Ball. If it's a possible thing he could focus less on which foe to attack and instead focus on highr power, or something.
He'll try two per round, although, if there's a weak enemy he'll attempt a third one to finish it off.

EQ once. Twice if it doesn't directly look as though allies will faint due to it.

(Sorry for being l8 as always, had this ready yesterday but forgot you have to press that cheeky [Post Reply] button Angel )
Reply
The way to focus on higher power is to go for a crit, with less dice. Meaning Haunter should use max 2 Shadow Balls.

Mamo can declare two actions and forfeit the second one if it looks like allies will suffer for it.

Reuniclus Horde Round 2

Nathan continues to struggle with Solosis and eventually has to knock it out.

3/3/0/4D/2

Giga Drain 1
(2)(3)(5)(6)(5)(6)(1)(4) Critical.
(4)(5)(1)(5)(6)(6) Reuniclus A faints.

0/3/0/4D/2

Hex 1
(6)(2)(2)(5)(2)(2)
(3)(5)(2)(5)(2)(3)(6) Reuniclus B takes 3 dmg and faints.

0/0/0/4D/2

Since Heart and Valder are both on Mamo, Haunter goes for D.

Shadow Ball 1
(6)(3)(4)(4)(1)
(6)(6)(4)(6)(3) Reuniclus D takes 4 dmg and faints.

The remaining Reuniclus is under Shiva/Tropius.

Crunch 1
(6)(5)(3)(1)(1)
(6)(3)(2) Reuniclus takes 1 dmg 1/9hp -3 pain.

Gust 1
(4)(5)(1)(6)(1)
(5)(4) Reuniclus faints! That's all of them, before they can act.

Malphena kills one. Yena kills another. A third is dying of lethal damage. 2 Reuniclus and 1 Solosis are KO'd normally.

Dizzy cautiously comes out and takes one of the transmitters in his jaws. He carefully bites off the power source and keeps the rest. He looks to the group, advising them to break these transmitters too.

Mr. Finder: "Ugh, this place reeks of them. I think there are more elsewhere, mostly behind us. They smell like they have transmitters too. But the smell of that black stone is very strong! To me, that is. We're almost there. One more mile."

The sociologist couldn't help but Smile once more in grim, almost maniacal glee as the Reuniclus started to drop like flies, jumping down from off Mamo as he strode forward to open his arms and embrace brother Malphena and Lucifer, who were equally swiftly to fly back over to their master's/brother's side to make sure all was well with him to.

"Oh, my siblings......I'm so relieved you're okay after that tense battle. And Malphena.....excellent job in dispatching some of those.....those.....mockeries of life that the Scimitars dared to manufactor and bring into fruition. Hopefully now they can rest peacefully in the here after, free from the mortal coil that has so been cruelly maligned against them. Be proud of what you've accomplished, my sister...."

I'll leave Lucifer's and Malphena's reaction to Ven's post battle affections to be described by Iron, as I'm still not too sure about their general reaction to killing stuff.

Beyond that, Ventus was quick enough to pick up on what Dizzy was doing with the fainted/dead Reunicli, and goes over to assist them in destroying the transmitters. Ven , however, held off on killing the rest of the blobs for  now, as he instead glanced over in Nathan's direction to see his own take on the post battle carnage. Due to their.....myriad conflicts over the sancitity of Pokémon life, he wasn't too keen on potentially starting any nasty arguments with the boy for now, especially after all the drama they've been through over it by this point and the fact that beingl deep down underground with the enemy chasing their tail was hardly the place for arguments...

Upon hearing Mr. Finder's assessment, the researcher's expression became almost apprehensive and definitely guarded, until finally he let out a long *Siiiiigh* and nodded his head.

"Then we need to press on, and began exploring and securing Antheneum from the imminent Scimitar incursion after we......deal with the rest of the Reunucli. Be on guard, everyone. We are getting closer to our goal, and I expect the danger we are in will only excalate as we grow nearer to it...."

Only when it was 100% clear that all of the Psychic Blobs have been dealt with, Shiva pats her Tropius' back and gestures him to please land. He obeyed, and swiftly Shiva (followed by Mr. Finder) leaped off his back, only to almost immediately fell on her knees and flung her arms around her Mightyena's strong neck, nuzzling his black shaggy fur and burrying her face in it as now the didn't manage anymore to hold these bitter tears back. She strictly avoided to even take a brief look at the now....also physically dead Reuniclus, ignored that some of their green jellylike overcoat was still dripping from her butterwolfly's jaws.

Now, as the wrath faded and they have defeated the foes, she allowed herself to weep as much as needed, to accept this sorrow she was feeling. Her toneless sobs barely echoed in the cavern. Now, she also believed to understand where it came from.
Yena was slightly confused over what may be wrong and why his leader was so upset and aghast now, as he has loyally followed her orders. But, a-anyway, he let her cuddle his neck as much as she wanted, as much as needed, even leaned a bit into her as he let out a high-pitched howl of victory over the whole scenery.

Shiva stopped in living out her misery as something gently nudged her by the shoulder and slowly turned her head to the source of it - it was her most dearest fluffball, looking proud like nothing that she has successfully fulfilled her task of obeying Nathan's command and showed these foes how little she cares about screens and such! That, and she hasn't even suffered a hit, hah! But now that she was facing the teary face of her much beloved Master, she didn't understand a thing anymore and was immediately worried of what has happened. One moment later, she ended up in an almost bone-breaking hug of her Master, which she...gladly returned with a delighted chirp; doesn't matter what was wrong, Shiva needed comfort and Cottonee was all willing to give as much of it as her fluff can contain! Soon, she felt a little better, and seemingly found her voice back as she was wipping away some last tears from her eyes with the sleeve of her cloak. "You....*sob* you all did great. In the end, our foes are down, and we....... we............ c-could at least..... end one's misery.... No, Yena, you did nothing wrong. I gave you orders, and you fulfilled them, you rather deserve praise for doing so. It's just.... I....... No. L-let us not....dwell on it right now, alright? We're... almost there.... Atheneum waits. So close........"

With these last words, she eventually found the strength to getup on her feet again - CAREFULLY. Her stance was still a little weak, but she'll catch herself again soon concerning this. One last pet over Yena's forehead and Shiva allowed her gaze to find the others - she still looked horrible, but she had to overplay it. She HAD TO keep herself strong now.

Quickly, her gaze met Dizzy, and with interest she watched what he was doing. However, by NO MEANS IN RESHIRAM'S NAME will Shiva even get CLOSE to corpses of Pokemon species she actually likes, so "Yena... You saw what Dizzy did there with the transmitters? Yes? Great. Please, go around and do the same ton every Reuniclus you manage to find......"

Rather expressionless and stoic, she took Mr. Finder's pleasant news of only one mile seperating them now from the stone, same with Ventus' words of being on guard. Only a slight nod was given to both before she recalled Tropius into his Ball (not after cuddling his head as reward for a job well done) and turned to hike down the rest of the tunnel, closer to the destination.
