Nathan makes one comment since he was examining the pictures as well: "Good luck with that, then. Genesect's not a pokemon you can just find information on lying around."

Shiva has ignored the worked-in stone figures of Primal and Fossil Pokemon as she was way more busy to muster the Gauntlet and glue on the psychic forcefield seperating her from the dilapidated shack (reference to the place in Cress City where the sell/buy/trade Trading Cards intended?), so she completely missed any discussion about these.
Also, if both Absols look pleasant any worry of the Reuniclus that were formerly behind them having followed them can be taken as unwarranted? Maybe the Pillar has ascended again to close the entrance/cover the staircase again in order to prevent any unwanted guests.... Hopefully.

As Ventus approaches the FIGHT ME! statue, his fellow party members fade away in his sight. The little Zen statue uncurls and grows! It reddens and comes aflame, a much-oversized Darmanitan, burly and very much alive.
As you hover your hand over Lucifer's Pokeball, little chains wrap themselves around your other 5 Pokeballs. And when you move your hand to Malphena's, the chains on her ball retreat and wrap around Lucifer's Pokeball instead.

Far past the point of being anymore unnerved and displeased by the blatently supernatural happening, Ventus accepted his apparent isolation from the rest of the group without nary an aplomb (besides his frown deepening) as he began his Trail. The phenomena of the chains, however, did cause him to quirk an eyebrow to quirk , before he looked towards the now fully revitalized Darmanitan with an awfully calm and deadpan expression.
"A one on one duel? I've seldom been partial to having my options limited in most any situation, but then again I seldom find myself in a mythical place with protections and rules intricate as the ones in Antheneum, so I suppose this is par for the course."
With that dryly said and the newly gained Knowledge he would only be allowed one Pokémon, he put away both Malphena's AND Lucifer's Pokeballs, and instead flicked out his wrist to deposit Abaddon's in it, ready to send it out against the Large Darmintan.
"Of course, that only means I will have to adapt and preval regardless, now does it? I'm ready to begin when you are, Guardian."
Order: Since this seems to be a 1V1 Situation, I will be using Abaddon (Wobbuffet) for this fight, who is holding a Sitrus Berry. Any other 'rules' I need to be aware of Iron, before Ven sends out his blue demon and the Initiatives are rolled?

Sources of Power for Valder
Valder tries to understand why there's a Bisharp carved here. He has Theo out and tries to survey the surroundings as much as possible.

Your backpack is chained too; no additional items. Abaddon's Sitrus Berry looks like it will work. Though no voice intrudes inside your head like it did for Shiva, you get the sense from this Pokemon's stance that this will be a fight to the KO. No other rules!
Abaddon: (4) + 6 = 10
Darmanitan: (2) + 3 dex + 2 = 7

'To the first that fall, the loser, and the last to stand the victor. No support, other than what is brought to the battlefield. Tsk.....a true test of mettle, rather than of skill or strategy. Not ideal......but as I said, I will adapt and persevere,' Ventus thought to himself as he nodded his head and tossed out Abaddon's Pokeball, letting out the blue demon in a burst as blinding light as they quickly sized up their burly ape of an opponent and prepared themselves for one heck of a beating! Given it small but highly select movepool, however, that is exactly what he wanted! Time to use this Darmanitan's Strength against it!
Seeing the confidence welling up from his child nearly caused him to smile slight, but he repressed and instead began issuing order in a calm, all too deliberate tone of voice, his gaze now firmly entrenched on his opponent. "Abaddon, give Darmanitan a stunning demonstration of how adorable you can be, before readying yourself to weather all the abuse you can take from them. Observe what they are capable of, then strike back with full force, my child."
Orders: Abaddon will use Charm with a Willpoint spend on it to make dang certain it sticks, followed by 2 Counter, 2 Mirror Coats, or some combination there of. More or less, if they use physical attacks Wobbuffet will use Counter as appropriate, and will substitute with Mirror Coat instead if they try to get checky and throw in a special move. Abaddon will automatically use their Berry when their HP fall by 3 points or more. Let's see if that flaming ape has what it takes to wear the punching bag Pokémon out?
Moves:
Charm
Accuracy: 8D6 Base Dice + 1 Success from a Willpoints - 3 Actions = 5D6 + 1 Dice
Effect: - 2 STR on the Target.
Counter/Mirror Coat
Accuracy: 9D6 - 4/5 Actions = 5/4D6 Dice
Damage: Varies
Effect: None.

Darmanitan Round 1
(...)
The battlefield is covered in ashes, but Abaddon's rubbery skin is perfectly clean!
Ventus could barely conceal his wince as the Large Darmanitan did it utmost to pound his child into a fleshly addition to all stone mural on the floor, sending out several silent prayers of thanks to his patron diety at how fortunate the first Round of his Trail turned out. The Flames of Truth were not with the almost overpowering Fire type as expected, and thank Reshirim for that!
Abaddon himself was hardly unscathed with his tussle with the flaming ape, given that the extent of his injuries required chopping down on his Sitrus, but seeing the much more belegured state of his opponent he knew they suffered much more than he did! You can wail on him all you like, but all you'll get in the end is plenty of bruises for your trouble!
Secretly, the researcher was quite relieved that his blue demon still remained steadfast in the face of such brute force leveled against him, as that allowed him to issue his next set order with a much less heavy heart yet still steeled heart. "My child, ready yourself for a pyric victory, and continuing rallying against the abuse this Darmanitan is heaping upon you. Prevent them from taking you down with all your might and soul, but make it so that they go down with you if they succeed."
Order: Abaddon will be using Encore then Destiny Bond, with a Willpoint being spent on each to make sure they land, and one more Counters/Mirror Coats to hopefully KO the ape or help them do the job themselves! Ven will be left with 1 Will point after this, and he's going to be quite exhausted, but I want to make sure that if Abaddon falls in battle, at least I will damn well try make sure Darmanitan can't win either!
Moves:
Encore
Accuracy: 8D6 Base Dice + 1 Willpoint - 1 Pain - 3 Actions = 4D6 + 1 Dice
Effect: Known
Destiny Bond
Accuracy: 9D6 Dice + 1 Willpoint - 1 Pain - 4 Actions = 3D6 + 1 Dice
Effect: Known
Counter/Mirror Coat
Accuracy: 9D6 Base Dice - 1 Pain - 5 Actions = 3D6 Dice
Damage: 6D6 Damage for both Fire Punch and Flare Blitz
Effect: None

Darmanitan Round 2
Encore 1
(4)(6)(2)(1) (6*)
Darmanitan was locked in!
Fire Punch 1
(4)(3)(3)(4)(4)(5)
(6)(6)(5)(5) Abaddon takes 4 dmg 2/9hp
Destiny Bond 2
(6)(2)(1) (6*)
Abaddon is trying to take his foe down with him!
A tactic this particular Pokemon doesn't mind much.
Flare Blitz 2
(3)(4)(2)(6)
(4)(5)(5)(5)
Recoil just for fun: (4)(2)(3)(3)
Abaddon faints!
Darmanitan turns into a statue and starts glowing.
Ventus finds himself back in....reality, I guess you could call it. He's standing on the steps, which are healing from the effects of the battle. The statues touched by Ventus, Shiva, and Nathan are glowing! Three Apricorns spring open, and three Klefki fly over to the riddle-solvers.
The other two statues fade away - those answers weren't right! All the humans have reappeared on the steps at the same time, and time flows "normally" again.
Just one statue left, and one Apricorn!
Heart's answer to his riddle was pretty good, but it didn't account for one of the clauses of the riddle at all, so I couldn't accept it.
GJ to Nathan and Shiva!
Is Shiva still approaching the final statue?
