[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

A young man with sparse hair opens the door. He's dressed in a sweater that looks far too thick for him, and he wears glasses. 

"Hello. Do you come bearing collectibles? If so, come in and I'll grab you a soda."

He's got a little mini-meeting room set up in his foyer, with table and chairs and notebooks.

"Yeah, actually.  Gerald, right?"



Nathan looks around the room a little while waiting.  Anything on display in the room, out of curiosity?

"Yes, that's me. What do you bring? Feel free to set any burdens on the table." He fetches a briefcase containing a magnifying glass and loupe.

This room contains a few stoic bronze masks on the walls, a fine carpet from the early League era, and an Elder Unown painted on the floor (it's clearly not correct).

Nathan respectfully refrains from pointing out the obvious errors in the Elder Unown picture.  Though it's definitely grating on him ever so slightly (read: quite a lot) since he's been studying how to read the writing for weeks...

"Nice place you've got here.  But yeah, as you've correctly assumed, admiring the stuff isn't the main reason I'm here.  Got something...expensive.  Something that only a real collector could really appreciate the full value of."

Nathan digs around in his bag for a moment...

...and then sets the Big Bullion with Sarimanok's royal seal on the table.  There's an audible *thud* as he sets it down.

"Not sure how much a magnifying glass will help ya with making sure it's the real deal, but you can take a look if you happen to know something about it that I might not."

"....And stay gone," Terra calmly and quietly said to the Black Dusclops as it faded away, before letting out a huff and going over to give Geine a pat on her back in thanks, to which she tiredly preened at the gesture, before he returned her.


 "Thank you. Now, get some more rest, Genie. We have another important battle tomorrow, and you need to be ready for it."

Once that was settled, the mountain of a man went over to capture his preferred Duskull and sent it off to the PC to get treated, leaving the other Ghost completely unmolested as he followed closely behind Heart. The battle was over and the spirits were pacified in his eyes, so he felt their was no need for any sort of punitive action against them. 


In a way, they were only trying to Survive and defend their territory from trespassers like him, so he couldn't find it within himself to begrudged the lingering spirits here for their actions.

Doesn't mean he had to appreciate when he was a target of their ire/hunger, though. Only accept it, defend himself/his charge as appropriate, and (hopefully) nothing more.

When the collector stumbles onto the trio of Natu, Terra simply hangs back and quietly observes. He isn't interested in catching any of them for himself, and he didn't believe that his friend needed his assistance in catching one, bar maybe a Toxic/Paralysis from his Pokémon to make it easier for them.

Order: Simply have Terra watch and wait for now. He ain't all that interested in owning a Natu unless Heart insists on it, and he doesn't think its necessary for him to help out, so that's it really! He'll be ready to high tail it back to Cress City ASAP, though!

He decide to make a friendly aproach. He dont want to scare the little group of Natu after all the trouble Heart and Terra do to find them. "Good little ones. Sorry if scare you or something like that." Heart put some fancy brioche bread and some slices of fish he have. "The names Heart. ArcHeart. And I searching for a pokemon with Teleportation ability. Is any of you have such move and is willing to get out of this Skull Ruins?"

One of the Natu seems very jumpy. Whenever one of the distant ghosts makes a noise, it flinches.

Empathy: (1)(1)(4)(5) = 1 success

It's too scared to eat your food, though, preferring the safe comfort of the fat maggots.

"Don't be scared. We are not ghost enemies. We have faced and a group of ghosts and a might Dusclops. We come from Cress City a close City from here. We can get you to a safer place without great problems with easy and safe food. You three have my word."

Two of the Natu just hop around, concentrating on their dinner. The skittish Natu shivers at the mention of Dusclops.

Shouldnt I have a roll to see if I have convince the Natu? *Sigh* I dont want to fight but I guess these Natu's dont giving me much choice)

Heart try his last resource. He will not leave this place the chance to get a Natu. At least one of them. Heart remember something: Because of his not grow wings, the Natu fateful to stay on ground to take whatever is there. Heart then makes another move. He talk with the shiver Natu and talk again. "Little one. Dont you tired to be in that little form of yours? About be a bird with tiny wings, and not be able to fly around in the sky? To hunt something better then maggots? I could train you. Train you to become a big, powerfull and wise Xatu. Capable to fly around in the sky, and see the future itself. Not only that, but we and my party we will find and get the Legendary HM-Fly, and make you conqueror the skies itself. How its sounds Natu?"

Patch Round 2

Porygon2 vs Alolan Vulpix remain, the former at 5/7hp due to hail damage and the latter yet untouched.
Right, I also missed to state the CD for Powder Snow.
Porygon2 goes first in Init order and has +2 Dext and +1 Strength.


Whoahw, despite the initial worry and insecurity, the snowy fox did a particularly fine job, she was either lucky or secretly skilled in sending pointy shards of ice at foes. In the end, she was the one who was still standing when her big and scary battle partner had to be recalled into the safety of his Ball - seeing how she instantly avenges this outcome with a well-placed blast of powdery snow was absolutely delighting to see for Shiva. "W....Well done, dear one, very well! You see, I guess we CAN do it, the big scary rhino is defeated! Keep it up like that and great things are to be expected!~" An eager yip from the snowy fox could be heard as she moved her gaze to now face the remaining foe - that weird-looking ducklike one!

"...There are more upgrades on your Porygon2? Well, eh, I'd rejoice to see more, Patch! So, that Mightyena...." *slightly embarrased headscratching* "It's still a Dark Type. I found him as a Poochyena on a Route once... Or he leaped onto the road just the right time, means just when I was following it. A Professor could tell me that it's, well... let's say it has a mutation in its gene pool, causing this alternated appearance? It doesn't seem to cause any disadvatages for him, though. You know, these Masquerain-like wings granting him a unique Ability, Shield Dust! All's a result of a genetic drift. His behaviour matches those of 'normal' Mightyena as far as I noticed." Phew... Shiva had to take a deep breath after having shared all this to Patch. Doing so reminded her only how weird and intriguing it was and how lucky she could consider herself to having bonded with such a unique Pokemon.

A questioning and awaitng gaze from Vulpix brought her mind back to the current battle, and after a mild headshake Shiva caught herself again. "Ah, I'm sorry for having kep you waiting, dear one... Your foe's rather pumped to battle, so let us try to distract him with some dazzling lights? Continue your performance with some more icy shards, and be ready to punish your foe for falling for the rays the moment after they give the appearance of having changed their Type, dear one."

It's still hailing on the battlefield due to Snow Warning Ability, but due to Guard Split Vulpix's at 4 Vitality.

In case Porygon2 changes their Type to anything but Normal and Dark, use Hex as a second Action instead. (Ice Shard remains third Action)

Oo, bringing up the HM is a great tactic. And Natu can sense the sincerity in your voice, that you actually have a lead on that Hidden Machine.

Natu hops up onto your shoulder and gazes dramatically off into the distance. But it hides behind your hair or your head whenever the ghosts howl.

The rugged mountain of a men eased up and returned Basteele's ball to his belt when Heart successfully persuaded the skittish prophet bird, crossing his arms and offering a small smile to the man for his efforts. When they expressed gratitude for his aid, he easily accepted it with a short nod of his head, but looked faintly surprised at them indebting themselves to him, before holding a hand to halt them with a calm expression and a shake of his head. "....No need, friend. Was doing my...duty to guard you, so you don't owe me. …Don't go to dangerous places without a good reason and help, though. Makes my job more.....difficult, and can make your life less long, so please be careful."

He said his last couple of sentences with a faint smile, which was a small and subtle indicator that he was being teasing/jeasting with his advice, and wasn't just trying to put down the collector and/or be a serious stick in the mud for this risky jaunt into the Skull Ruins. Hopefully it wasn't TOO subtle, though, or there he goes again, committing another social blunder....

Terra is swift to agree with their suggestion to vacate the area and return to town ASAP with a nod of his head. The longer they linger here, the greater the chance that MORE malicious Ghosts come to haunt them all, so with their Natu in hand now was a good time to leave.
