[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(07-22-2018, 10:13 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: I personally don't think their is much of a problem with HP and Defense being tied together so long both players and DM can handle that issue, but at the same time I wouldn't mind seeing a system where High Vit. character could exist without becoming immediate stone walls to those with puny STR or not a lot of ways to chip away at it. Hopefully whatever you cook up works out well, and I'd be happy to be the ginny pig and test it out once you get everything drawn up and finalized!

Tieing S.Def to Insight would be a nice idea in your campaign, as it would give INS an actual mechanic use in Combat besides the odd Move Roll, rather than being relegated to Alert Rolls, RPing , Out of Battle Tasks, or Befriending Pokémon. I wouldn't want it in this campaign, however, as that would more or less give my character a MASSIVE achilles heel that I would have no way of preparing for. He's already weak to Sleep , Confusion, Ambushes, and can't hope to do anything with Wild Pokémon but Fight them unless they want to follow along with needing to be convinced, so I don't want to add 'Special Attacks' to that list.

Appreciate the input!  I'll have to do a little brainstorming.  Hmmm...

Whoops. I've been 100% sure that an Expert Belt grants +1 autodamage as that's what made me instant-choose that one over a any other item in the list of the Relic Library, but it does indeed seem to grant +1 dice on the Damage Roll instead. ...Damn. But given that's what I'm already used to, it's more natural to me to grant outright more damage and Shiva as the only one not highly invested in battling does greatly benefit from it, could it please remain to grant autodamage instead of an additional dice?

I also missed to state that Yena's protected by Shield Dust although I knew it, I'm sorry for that. Means that Dragon Breath doesn't paralyze him. Mind if you can roll out that Crunch 3 after Dragon Breath and Facade, Iron? It only has 1 dice in Accuracy due to Pain, but only one of the 3 Dice of Damage (after substracting Vitality) needs to succeed to force neat Flygon out of battle and save him from being badly poisoned. And, em, would Lucky Chant also prevent the damage from poison or doesn't it proc there? Oh, and I like how you just copied the flavour text I've given in my battle instructions for this Round. ^^

But given that Mikey already took aim at my butterwolfly and he only needs to hit on a Mach Punch to defeat him, forfeiting anyway after this Round sounds still like a good idea, @Lord Windos. Especially since I wanted to further train Yena to hopefully be ready for Corsage Port the next in-game Day. But I'd still like to wait to reply to that in GameThread until the edits to the Round are made, alright?

To be fair, the wording of the text in the book isn't entirely clear.  The graphics in it are mostly error free, though, so I tend to trust them a lot more than potential errors in the text.  *stares at Shell Smash*

Personally, I'm not sure the Expert Belt should be buffed to always doing +1 damage. That'd be...really, really strong, and it wouldn't really accurately reflect what the item does in the games. Mystic Water and the other type enhancing items also have the same unclear text as the Expert Belt in the book.

Shiva would greatly benefit from that though and I mostly took that Belt to help her keeping up with the natural and strong battlers of the group, but as a compromise to keep it dealing +1 damage I won't use that Belt on every battle - only Boss and Gym Battles. Living stoicly off the Corebook is also boring, imagination and self-interpretation! I'll also note, mark and circle how my Expert Belt exactly works so that GM doesn't have to worry about it.

Probably, but would it be any cheaper than a Potion? Maybe that'd be a good idea for a wild herb.

We'll do 1 RP XP for Heart. Nidorino wasn't challenged at all.

Shiva's Expert Belt can stay as +1 on supereffective attacks. What did everyone else get from the Relic Library? Amulet Coin is already very good - I'll add that it may increase monetary gain outside of battle at GM's discretion. Mega Stones are fine as-is.

I also appreciate more made-up plants being introduced as we progress.

Besides, have you already edited the last Round of the Introductory Battle?
EDIT: Oh yes, you did. Lolz, I'm sorry Desert Princess!

I think I'll wait what @Lord Windos says about it and whether he edits his post or not before I reply, but I'm fine with with fainting Flygon because of 'SLAYING THE DRAGON', but forfeiting the battle then as Yena won't stand a chance againts Mikey.

Ventus got an Amulet Coin, but since he's out of the game, its effectively non existent or impactful at this point. Ah well.
