Who says Nathan's encounter with Zoroark was a bad one, hm?

Wow, P-Bulbasaur's moveset gets particularly pricey after it evolves...a 20% increase is a lot more when you get to those higher levels, that's for sure.

Hmmm...they can learn Grassy Terrain...interesting...that might pair well with another pokemon (or three) eventually...in any case, that's a move I'm very much interested in for a very particular reason if I can set up something that gets the most out of it...

Me thinks you are overbalancing a bit to make things challenging for us, Iron, but that is just my opinion. Makes me even more glad that I'm not challenging Tanuki until later...

Tanuki is supposed to be the hardest gym leader in the entire region, and Nathan beat her, so she's not unbeatable!

Also, there's another thing to note: Spinda can't use Hypnosis by League rules.  It already used Fake Out, Sucker Punch, Flail, and Feint Attack in Round 1.  That's all it gets in this battle!  And Tanuki doesn't strike me as the sort who breaks her own rules.

That changes things a LOT.

Ah, I had thought she only used Sucker Punch in the previous battle. But you are right! I'll fix this round up.

This should be said when orders are given, but without Hypnosis she should be OK anyway.

Off I go to fix that Round.

Huh, I actually didn't know that at ALL, so with that context its perfectly reasonable for her to have all SORTS of tricks and power up her sleeves! Now I am REALLY going to wait until challenging her, as if she's the hardest, I want to be FULLY and COMPLETELY prepared to take her on!

Dagny is second-hardest! Of course it depends on how your character is built, but of all the gym leaders, those two have the highest XP budgets. Fitting, since they are the capital leaders. Tanuki somewhat handicaps herself by her choice of Pokemon species. There are less cute Normal types who have rather better movesets and HP. Her whole philosophy in life is to prove it's not the Pokemon species, it's the training they've undergone!

Your characters are becoming elite trainers. Notice how handily Chuckles and especially Zamboni were defeated by a Heart who is capable of defeating Dagny.

Creshire is a campaign where you can go wherever you want, and the power levels of each area don't ever change. (though plot hooks may give you hints of where to go, and I'm trying to avoid grinding).

Fun Fact: according to the book, Ace Trainers are the ones that have enough Gym badges to enter the annual League Tournament (of course, they only get the title if they're invited, but almost everyone who gets all 8 gym badges in the canon regions ends up invited since it's so difficult).

Considering Tandor's Elite Trainers don't show up until the post game of Uranium, though...that seems to be a whole 'nother level of pokemon training of its own! Ace/Cool Trainers are a step below those guys. (though Ace Trainers are called Elite Trainers in Japan, interestingly enough)

Tanuki's has become a NPC I like much way too quickly, it's hard to not like her. Thank you for editing things, Iron!

None directly, but eh, one Encounter vs. a special connection to that species for reasons that I'm not spoiling is quite a difference.

*shrugs*  No need to emphasize it every time you bring it up.

Story time will come later tomorrow, as I'm tired and want to tackle that tale with full energy/creativity. Don't want to deprive you of quality content, now would I? Night!
