[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(09-03-2018, 07:13 AM)Spiritmon Wrote: (Before I forget @Dragonstrike)

Heart before anything ask something to Nathan. "Nathan, could you teach some of my pokemons the HM Rock Smash? Some of them might make good use of such move: Alola Geodude and Ambipom. They still dont learn that move, and that could be useful."

OOC Note: Sure, but ask at a different time/non-public place instead of in the pokemon center's lobby, please.

Note 2: Iron assumed that Ambipom learned ROCK SMASH already back at Ancestor Cave already if I read things correctly.  I'm cool with that if you want to add it to his movepool because of that since he's obedient, though. (I've already added it to my own notes, in fact)

Note 3: So...I think A-Geodude should be able to learn ROCK SMASH? It's not on the list on Bulbapedia, though, because it's not a TM in Gen 7 at all. (Which means the only gen 7 pokemon that can learn Rock Smash are the ones that learn it via leveling up/evolve from a pokemon introduced in a prior generation that can learn it). Need some input from @Iron on this one.

Hmmm...Nathan's got quite a few options as far as pokemon somewhat better suited for aquatic adventures go, thinking about it...

1. Carvanha
2. Solomon
3. Starmie
4. Chinchou
5. Anorith (Fun fact: Armaldo can also swim)
6. Solosis? (They can survive anywhere, so why not underwater?)
7. Snivy? (Some snakes can swim)
8. Ditto

(And everyonelse) I'm not feeling very well today, somewhat nauseous, weak and downcast, so I guess I'd rather rest for today instead of typing up responses here at the virtual game table. I'm sorry... Maybe at evening (after my time) I might feel better to throw out one reply or so, we'll see. Just wanted to let you know.

Oh my.....I hope you get MUCH better and very quickly, my dear. Its never good to so under the weather, so take care for the rest of the day, alright?

(09-03-2018, 09:12 AM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: One more thing... I'm sorry for objecting, but why did you brought that up Dragon, and more importantly: WHY did you agree to that Windos, when you knew that I wanted to spend the rest of Day with Terra to discuss various things and bond a little/get to know him and Genie more, all in a longer RP scene initiated by going Berry Foraging together? I expressed that here in MetaThread and look/looked forward to it, and you know that. I don't wish for that to be interrupted or cut down, or anything, that'd be...neither very nice, nor enjoyable in- AND outta-chara, and it'd go against what's hoped to achieve via all that discussing and talking with him. (which is, frankly, spending some quality time with him)

….I'm not usually one to be firm, but I'll say you are completely overreacting, Phantom. I was just going to see Anorith and react a tadbit with it via Terra/Melly, before waiting on you to agree to come with Terra, and let you kick things off the way you envision - Only would take one post on my part, at most. Anorith's debut will not be such a time killer that it would majorly delay our moment, so I don't know WHY you are getting so aggressive about it. Calm down, please.

4. As Iron also said, everyone can always flash forward to stuff after this meeting if they wish, now that all the exp/inventory affecting stuff has been handled.

As Dragonstrike said, its also a way to get Terra/Heart from thinking about the events of Ancestor Cave, and there's literally nothing stopping us from just starting our Encounter, so all the more reason not to get worked up into a frenzy.

Terra only has Lovely for underwater exploration/travels, but they're so big and beautiful that it balances out somewhat!

Yeap, knew that Anorith could swim, as its based on ancient shrimp IRL. Could have easily been Water/Rock instead of Bug/Rock, though it would have ended up Defensively poorer for it.

If Apsis can swim well in big bodies of water, so can Snivy, especially since they are actually strong against the element as opposed to neutral.

Speaking of Pokémon, how's the honeybees, Rhea, and your other less often used Pokémon doing? Princess should be getting close to evolve, especially after her exploration of Antheneum.

Their HA is also Swift Swim.  Might be weak to water due to that Rock typing, but Anorith and Armaldo might be the only Rock types that don't mind getting wet as much as other ones.  Still can't learn any of the Water HMs, but Armaldo probably wouldn't be completely crippled (as far as Brawl based moves go) by a SURF suddenly swamping the battelfield like some other land based pokemon.

Snivy'd probably be a lot better at it after evolving into Serperior, though.  Snivy and Servine don't exactly look like super strong swimmers since they aren't as long and sinuous.

- Definitely need to see more of those bees soon.  I'm also hoping Princess will be evolving soon.  Her movepool is going to be kinda meh since she and Zippy haven't accumulated a ton of exp, but she'll at least have Fell Stinger, Destiny Bond, and Confuse Ray to work with, as well as get Fury Cutter for dirt cheap.

- We'll be seeing a lot more of Rhea (and Carvanha) very, very soon, so don't worry about her too much Wink

- Masq has been chillin'.  Need to introduce him to Juliet at some point.  That oughta be quite a hoot.  Or a chirp, I guess?

- Porygon-Z and Pulse oughta be gettin' up to shenanigans with Trick at some point.

- Definitely gonna be pullin' out Emolga soon.  Shinx oughta make an appearance soon as well.

- One of the other things on my list for the day is 'fuse Beldum into Metang'

- D?-Tropius should be showin' up sometime soon as well.  And Solosis.

- Yule's still a slow but steady work in progress. Milk Drink would still be an amazing move to get for obvious reasons.

- Then there's D-Hippopotas, Vibrava, Cranidos, D-Forretress, Chinchou...not entirely sure what to do with all of them yet, but I'll think of something eventually, I'm sure.

Any of the Water/Rock types also wouldn't made getting drenched either, and Lileep/Cradilly is basically anti-Water with Storm Drain , but your point still stands about SURF! That be a real pisser to go through if you aren't prepared....

Fair enough assessment on Snivy, but they might be light weight enough to just float on the water easily.

- I'm worried if Princess might want to pull an Ash's Butterfree and go off to start her own colony with Zippy after evolving, but hopefully that won't be a problem.

- Its strange that Porygon hasn't been seen in awhile, given how close they were to Nathan around the beginning of the adventure. Guess they've been edged out by Grid, Solomon, and Calam, eh?

- ...My my, you have a lot of Pokémon in your backlog. I prefer having a rather small but highly trained selection to draw upon, as its less XP and party management that way. To each their own, though!

- Particularly since Iron commented to me in a PM that it basically turns the battlefield into a swimming pool when used, unlike standard Surf.  Makes using pokemon that have trouble swimming really, really difficult.

- Princess has 3 Happiness and 4 Loyalty towards Nathan, and Zippy was the first pokemon in the campaign to reach 5 in both.  At the very least, they'll always be friends at this point, I think.

- It's been a little more difficult since it evolved into Porygon-Z, but I still want to work it in there somewhere.  Taking advantage of the more mischievous antics with Pulse will have its benefits, and Porygon-Z does still have its interest in Nathan's research stuff...I think...besides, I've still got plenty of Conversion shenanigans I want to mess with. And Download is really, really friggin' good.

- I've got a sufficiently trained selection too (Gallade, Calam, Swiftfire, Grid, Starmie, Charmeleon, Orthros, Snivy, Shinx to a degree, Chinchou, D-Hippopotas to a degree...).  That's why I'm not worried too much about spreading the exp too thin.

I'm... I'm sorry if I've been harsh and overreacted... If it's indeed only taking little time/one post or so, then it's reasoned to say that I've overdone it, I do tend to get protective over things that mean something to me, but I guess in this case I've crossed a line. I was, well, worried that things would get delayed or distracted too much, and I'd dislike it a lot if that'd happen.

Now though, upon seeing that things are different than I feared, I beg pardon for that blunder... Apologies accepted? Please?

Thank you for the 'get well soon', Windos... *hugs dearly* I'm doing a little better now, at least good enough to distract myself online a little before going back to bed. Means, I'll get to typing up some response(s) then.

Ah, one more thing that caught my eye, Iron: What Stats did you roll out here, if I may ask? If it's Survival+Nature, it'd be one more dice in my case due to 3 Survival + 3 Nature. Does that change something about the Berry Shiva has found?

Tanukizoon does indeed receive a Sitrus Berry with the hope to find another, but the next time it might be a different one.
