I think the main caveat here is you probably don't know which higher level moves the Rapidash might have unless Iron tells you.

I can only guess most likely, but there are other things I can do than asking to use a move.

In sum: Terra trust and respects everyone's battle prowess, and is perfectly fine/not bothered too much about them taking on certain threats within certain contexts, but he's still rightfully worried about them in this situation due to it being a warzone, and therefore wants to do everything in his power to ensure their well being and safety. You all might say he's overdoing it or taking his job too seriously, but when it is explicitly keeping the group protected and alive to the full extent of his ability (within reason), how could he not?

Well, my dear, if you put it that way - then you're probably right, given that this is indeed a warzone where natives are fighting the King's soldiers it does feel rather reasoned for Terra to take his duty in keeping everyone safe and sound that serious that it may border to 'too serious' if I'm looking at things from my point of view. Maybe it just hit a nerve of mine that he'd go that far to be mad at Shiva for something she wants to do? It's still having a slightly bitter aftertaste to swallow, but since you're ensuring that he has faith in her capabilty and skills that's something that lessens this aftertaste to a good degree. To me it just feels like barely anything of that is seen! Maybe solely Terra and Shiva engaging in a meaningful Encounter of some sort together could help on that, one where she could soft-proof herself towards him as the tough and fierce battler escpecially.
EDIT: Or, now that I think about it, how Genie allowed her to take a flight on her back after their first playdate when she actually does only allow people she considers worthy of such a thing speaks a lot for itself/for Shiva already. ^^

Huh, so the mounts of my Encounter can engage in this battle as well? Now that's cool, but I rather not want to imagine what would occur if my Rapidash would end up defeated. Though this arises a question from my side I'd like to have answered by GM please: Does this indeed mean that I can give orders or small commands to my horse in the means of "Use *name of an attack here*" or "Dodge" as long as it's not a Brawl Move? Would it obey me at all in this particular situation (yes, normally Rapidash has Disobediance, but that's why I state in this particular situation), and would it use my Stats or has it its own pool?

Raphael's orders are set in my mind and I can type them up already, but is it alright if I wait with posting them until you've clarified this to me to have everything in one go?

Yep, you can treat your mount exactly like a Pokemon under your control. I suppose I should tell you its moves: it just has all its moves up to level 25.

Looking at the moves then: Can I ask Rapidash to dodge a foe's move by using Quick Attack - means, use this move not to attack but to evade - or would that count to 'not safely being able to use Brawl Moves'? Probably a weird question, but something that came to my mind now.

You can't use it to Evade, but you can use it if you need to get somewhere in particular very fast. You cannot use it to target a foe and deal damage.

The forum's somewhat super-glitchy at the moment for me, it just consumed a good part of my post and completely denies me access on random intervalls. Well, I'll retype it and then head to bed because this starts to test my patience - Cody's already informed about what he called a 'unique case'.

....Dear, think about it from Terra's perspective, or heck, Shiva's father: Your chara. , instead of doing the logical thing and getting out of danger OR tracking down another member of the group for assistance, is choosing to literally become a soldier/mercenary in a war, in which she has no good stake in, nor the experience of actually being an actual warrior, as opposed to a Pokemon Trainer (Those are two very different things). Nobody in the group has that experience (at least, not until after this Scene), not even Terra practically speaking. Combine that with one of Terra's main objectives in keeping Shiva safe at all costs, and its pretty simple why he would strongly object to her rational to entering the fray like so.

The fact that Terra lets Shiva take her Encounters alone the vast majority of times should speak volumes about how much he trusts her abilities. If he didn't, the man wouldn't leave her side except for the occasional bathroom breaks and sleeping. Genie's friendship with her also shows his trust/respect in her, as if he didn't think she was capable of handling his mischevious dragoness, he wouldn't let them near her outside of battle, let alone have meet and greet play date. Terra's not too obvious with his feelings towards others, but he's hardly subtle about it either if you think about his actions/lack thereof .

As for Genie's flight, I'll reiterate by saying she only lets Terra, people she finds worthy or deserving of respect, or children the boon of riding her. She's still a Dragon type despite her Fairy personality, so she's rather prideful and hardly would demean herself by letting just anyone hitch a flight with her. Not with great consequences and humiliation on their part, anyway....
