I could maybe do that I guess, though Nathan would expect somebody to capture it in a modern pokeball and keep the Rapidash for themselves if he did. Another option if we need a mount is I could also just retrieve Swiftfire/Yule with the PTC and our Ditto can Transform into the mounts as needed.
Thanks for considering! I'd prefer that particular Rapidash used in my Encounter as my mount for sentimetal and personal reasons than one provided by Nathan, I would surely capture it for that sake: Though it may already belongs to a soldier from the Eastern Suns so dunno whether that's an option at all unless that soldier has been defeated/killed by an enemy soldier or Hitmonlee already.

You could also try to pull Terra and Spira to us three so that we can lurch further back all together. Why delay actually?

Based on the information presented, it seems like I could potentially yank Hitmonlee, Farfetch'd...anyone we interact with in some sort of significant way (though it's probably harder to do with more fragile threads, I imagine, particularly if they aren't directly connected to Nathan). This is...very weird in a certain way, I have to say.
I could delay this lurch so we could get our bearings straight. Or I could just let it take the 5 of us to the next destination so that we're all out of that war zone sooner rather than later. Hmmm...
Hitmonlee and Farfetch'd are valid targets. Actually I'm not sure if Terra intended to capture him or release him or what.
You will, by default, yank Spira and Terra with you to the next stop, since you're bonded comparatively thoroughly in the eyes of the Sphere. (and it keeps the party together).

Why delay actually?
The horse belong's to Sarimanok's army in general rather than any particular person (which is why Shiva was able to ride them in the first place). And even if it is captured in a primitive apricorn pokeball, 'being a thief' is totally possible if you get far enough away from the apricorn it's registered to (this was possible even in 1925 if apricorns were the capture technology was what was used to capture the pokemon. In 2017, however, most registration info is a lot more secure with better MSC tech). And I think getting yanked to another time definitely qualifies as being far enough away.
Apricorn based Pokeballs are still a recent invention in Sarimanok's time, though, and there's a LOT of Rapidash in his army. Odds are decent that they aren't all registered to a pokeball.
I do also kinda have to finagle a reason that Nathan would try and yank the Rapidash's thread to try and bring 'em along, tbh...might have to think for a little bit about that if I'm going to do it...
To get our bearings. To potentially do anything else we might need to in that time before packing up and heading to the next destination. To try and get some rest before getting lurched again (we just all went through 3 encounters, so we're going to start getting very exhausted if we don't rest soon). Those are a couple reasons I can think of in favor of delaying the lurch.

I think he might have been waiting for everyone to get back together, maybe? In any case, I have a good feeling the duck is coming along with us. Wouldn't want to leave 'em there after just saving their life, right? Plus, Terra's still holding them, and it looks young and probably a little scared, so I think it's reasonable for Nathan to yank 'em along.

Terra kept Farfetch'd mainly because he feels responsible for it after saving it's life, but has not caught them yet since he we as too busy finding the others, and just in case they might want it instead. Most likely it will end up his to be sold later in future, though, once he gets a chance to really talk with/look over them.
Still on phone, so don't expect posts from me soon.

One could reason it with pure curiosity and wondering why there's a fine thread to a Rapidash from the Eastern Suns, add in the personal connection Nathan has to the Ponyta Line from home (why leave it behind?) and mix it all with Gallade having kept an eye open for the rest of the group = so possibly he has managed to spot Shiva somewhere in the battle on a Rapidash or riding a Rapidash in general in this scenery - and we have a way!~ ^^ That in a more elaborated way would at least be the reasoning I'd choose. I'd really would like to have this Rapidash to further ride on it's back through time
Or one can use the sheer logical reasoning, which is another mount to have on hand: We're a group of 5 and one more never hurts. Maybe it's even carrying some healing items or other loot with itself. As said, it may be useful later and in case one is hurt or similar, so why not take on that chance?

Getting our bearings does indeed sound like a good reason to delay, don't want to leave our tent and stuff behind! But I was understanding that this Lurch happened when we all were about to move on, so maybe we've gathered everything off-screen already? Depends on @ Iron's ruling and saying. *stares into their direction questioningly* I've also somewhat stopped counting Encounters during these timetravel shenanigans because it grew a tad bit obscure for me personally. Though it actually itches me to find out where we're landing and why, so I'd rather follow that Lurch now than later.

Nathan's also going to be wondering why the heck Shiva's connected to a warrior from the plains on top of a Rapidash. He doesn't need either to necessarily ask questions. Gallade could have possibly spotted Shiva, I suppose. Thinking about it...I have a vague idea of how Nathan might reason it, actually. Definitely going to consider that...
It might be obscure, but we still start to tire after every 3 encounters we do. They don't necessarily have to be throughout the course of a normal day. It's very important we keep track of how exhausted our characters are, just like when we were in Mt. Sentry. 1925 encounters were number 3 and 4 of Day 69, and we've gone through 3 in 500 AD during Day 69B. Iron's idea of splitting the 'days' by when we take a proper 8 hour rest is a good to way to keep track of when the number of encounters we can take without becoming exhausted has reset. If we take another set of encounters after this battle scene, we'll all be operating with a -1 Exhaustion penalty on everything.
Given the Lurch is happening immediately after we've finished our encounters in a battle and before we've all met back up, I don't think we had time to set up a tent or anything, so I think that shouldn't be a concern.

I assume you always have your tent with you, since it's portable. Why leave it?
This lurch happened before the skirmish even ended!

I do have one question concerning that: would we end up back in the middle of that battle if Nathan delayed the lurch?

Yes. It will be easier to escape now, though, since there are a lot of fainted people around.
