Well that's surprised me. Its a different change of scenario for a Pokemon movie (since almost every time we see movies based in new legendaries coming to games). The design of the Pokemons looks promising, and the story interesting. Being good or bad I gonna watch anyway.

Still looking forward for a movie about Skull Ruins and Celadon City though :3 It's a difficult dream to make happen but a guy can dream right?

As someone who's actually played that game, I do wonder how far they're going to take the story, tbh...

The reveal of the trailer itself didn't really surprise me since we've known they've been making the movie for awhile, though.  What was surprising to me was definitely the designs of the pokemon...and some of the...*ahem*...'creative liberties' they took with some of the characters (some of them are vastly different in some ways from how they were portrayed in the game).

Well that's because they always make changes in movies based in games. But there always the fear of be a bad movie. We have a long historic of movie based in videogames be terrible *Looking at Mario Bros movie and street fighter the final battle* But when I watch the movie of Prince of Persia I discover it is possible. So, there always hope. Any movie who I don't need to see the dumb face of Ash Ketchum it's already a positive point.

Yeah, but this one looks like it's shaping up to be a decent portrayal of the game in movie form, at least.  Maybe because there's less material they have to integrate to stay true to the spirit of the game.

When a movie deviates from its source material too much, that's when the series' fanbase becomes disappointed.  *stares at Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief*

You know, there is something who was bothering me for quite awhile: What is the humans in the Pokemon world eat? Its a dumb question but the fundamentals: Humans eat both meat and vegetables. So where they eat the meat? From the Pokemon.

If you think about it, it's a very dark thought since pokemon is in general sentient beings, even more smart then humans. So, the thought of people...eat their Pokemon friends is very much dark.

A salad of Cottonee leafs? Pignite burn with cheese? Sushi of Milotic? Legs of Mudkip? That might be a huge protest or people who don't eat meat in any way. Maybe even great portion of the people are vegetarian?

Or maybe the industry in the pokemon world evolve so much they made a artificial meat who can substitute real meat, because Pokemon is more or less like the animals in our world like dogs, cats and hamsters. But animals with super powers like control fire or shoot electric energy from their tails.

And if they not that answer, than maybe there is real life animals there like real cows or Chicken since I remember see some real world animals in the most oldest episodes of the anime who show normal fish and real birds. But if there is those real life animals, where are they? Is their extinct by the population of Pokemon and predatory hunt of humanity? Or they created in cativary to serve as a substitute food?

In summary: The Pokemon world have a hide dark story. Or a story who do not make sense. If anyone could have a better explanation, I would like to hear it.

And the worse thing about that it's because I love the Percy Jackson Saga. Read almost all books, and buy the second saga. My disappointed was great. And they even dare to make that garbage of movie from the Sea of Monsters. I feel offended. Even more that monstrous Chronos in that movie. What a piece of terrible special effects.

The REAL Chronos is a more sinister and cunning foe who could manipulate everyone around Percy. And even when everyone think Chronos lost a battle, the writer broke completely the expectation and make a plot twist who changed the life of Percy Jackson, his friends, and even the so called "Great Profecy". Rick Riordan indeed know how to make a great book.

Wish I the movie could be better instead of a huge disappointing. And I say both movies.

It's canon in Iron's world that humans do eat pokemkon meat (Sinnohese lore from the Canalave Library also states this was the case long ago, before pokeballs were invented).  However, most Creshireans eat synthetic stuff instead of the real deal (and feed their meat eating pokemon the same if they get meat instead of pokefood of some variety) due to the region's near universal respect for pokemon as individuals and companions.

Of course, there are exceptions to that respect...namely Almanac and the Scimitars...and the occassional traveler from different regions...

Fruit, veggies, all sort of grain and co. can be grown and harvested all normally like in our world, Mistralton City in Unova for example is said to grow vegetabes and export them by cargo plane. Miltank and related Pokemon give milk for dairy products, Combee and some other Pokemon produce or gather consumable honey.

The dilemma of meat and people butchering their Pokemon Friends for food can be conveyed to the real world where things aren't much different: Humans eat meat and kill animals for that while at the same time animals can be the closest and best friends of people (think of a loyal dog for example or a cat that comforts you on a bad day by purring while stroking her) It's pretty controversial and a personal decision whether to engage in this or not or partly, but maybe in the Pokemon World there are similar things like farms or places who breed and keep cattle, chickens and so on for the purpose of them becoming food for the people in the end, instead of cattle it's Miltank and Tauros and instead of chicken Farfetch'd for example. They're said to taste well even in canon!~

Soy products like tofu are maybe a bigger thing in the Pokemon World than in ours, given I don't think they've got animals like we have, Pokemon inhabit the world and dominate their ecosystem.

Currently scientists are developing and researching the growth of lab-grown-meat, which is - as the name might imply - produced synthetically without animals having to die for it: Particular cells are taken from an animal from which eventually grows to, well, meat in a lab. It's an expensive process still but promising in the longshot. I'd believe such a thing to be possible or even done in the Pokemon World too.

Given how advanced some of the tech in the pokemon universes are, I have no doubt synthetic meat is a thing.
