[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Sure.  Same conditions as before.  Seviper was asleep and paralyzed when it was KOed (total of -7 Will).  Floatzel was going to be paralyzed with Grid's Thunder Wave before attempting to capture it (total of -6 Will).  Was initially going to throw 2 pokeballs and 1 great ball (in that order) at each (total of 4 pokeballs and 2 great balls).

Given that Seviper looked like it had more Vitality than a usual Seviper (had 5, standard Seviper has a max of 4), yeah, I'm interested in catching both of them.

Back to the present!

To Bill: "Gotcha, Bill.  I'll let ya know when we're done with Juni.  And I need to talk with ya about something later, just so you know. If we need anything else from you, we'll let you know."

To Thrawn: "Well, if we come up with a story, it needs to also account for you also being missing for three years, Detective, and your Arcanine was traveling with us during that time.  If we tell the truth, Bill will probably vouch for us, I think.  As for crimes..."

Nathan starts listing off instances of criminal activity that he knows or suspects are related to the Scimitars.

- "We know why Juni attacked us.  She did it to keep us quiet about attacking my dad in the Ruins.  And I can guarantee I do not want to be shy about saying that to somebody in charge now since I don't have to worry about causing a paradox, nor do I think the League will take that lightly, given that he's a rather well known trainer and his disappearance is an incredibly serious case, even if the specifics of it are on the down low.  At the very least, the claim that it was my dad that they attacked would get the police's attention, I imagine.  Though we'd probably have to approach the claim carefully if we weren't telling them about the time travel. If we use that claim in this case at all...*sigh*...at the very least, I'm going to be telling Dagny and possibly even Tanuki about this. If he was on League business, they're going to want to know what happened."

- "There's also a case currently open concerning someone who attempted to break into a building, but didn't use any pokemon, even while they were being arrested.  They're probably related to the Scimitars if I had to guess, and Dagny's keeping me updated on that case for...personal reasons.  Last update she sent me was right before we got to Bill's place, which was earlier...today (Nathan had to hesitate to think about when exactly that was because of time travel shenanigans). I'm waiting to hear back from her about more of the specifics."

- "We've also been attacked by Scimitars before.  A few of them tried to kidnap Shiva awhile back, and Dagny can vouch for us on that front.  She was the one who alerted me to the attack, and two others who were traveling with us previously encountered a few other Scimitars that were monitoring what was going on remotely and alerted Dagny to their actions.  Scimitars thought it'd be funny to literally commit the crime right under Tanuki's nose during the Little Cup."

"Despite their claims that they aren't a criminal organization, they're doing a lot of stuff that's breaking the law."

*Flashback Continued!*

The clever trainer's rather demonstrative explanation of what an Arcanine is elicited an "Oh......" from the sagely monk, followed by him abashedly rubbing the back of his head and nodding back. Well, now he feels a bit more stupid and embarrassed about his ignorance, especially since it could have been easily avoided if he'd just asked Thrawn what Pokemon his Fire doggie was beforehand. Guess that's what he gets for being quiet around the detective, huh.....

Descriptions of the rare Pokemon manage to mollify him, though, as he quietly nodded along with the boy's words until they got to Moltres, which lit his interest on fire you could say, as he leaned forward with a none to subtly surprised and impressed by what he heard.

"Moltres is a Legendary Fire Pokemon? And Heart got one as an Egg? Became its caretaker? That is..........that is fortunateBigA great honor. It is.....wow."

For a moment, Terra was rendered speechless by just how awesome it was for the pun lover to receive a Legendary Pokemon to raise and care for, but he slowly recovered, his expression firming up with both pride and seriousness. As for the short story, the rugged wanderer more or less listens with rapt attention, looking keenly interested as Nathan described everything with concise but crisp detail, clearly wanting to know more about the wonderous situation.

"So that is what happened. *Smiles* You did well, Nathan, Shiva, Heart. Took care of egg eaters, became Egg's protectors, and....work to make their future bright and happy.  Very proud of you all, my friends. *Expression hardens*....But sounds like you all have big responsibility for them too. Especially Heart. Hm......*Nods*.....will do everything I can to help you, then. Promise. For my friends and Eggs, it is least I can do, so don't........hesitate to ask. Understand?"

Though he didn't and wouldn't ever make a Pledge, Terra none the less still desired to support his friend's own efforts to care for those priceless newborns to be. Simply that, and nothing much else.

"The fact that your dad was well-known to the League is a great point in our favor. I need access to a computer ASAP. Juni did hint that she knows someone at the League level, though. This is interesting...two cold cases meeting. That might help, honestly."

"Dagny, the same Ms. Dagny who runs the Stair City Gym in 2014? She won't mind leveling the playing field with a few white lies, I think. But she will always be meticulous and sure she has no chance of getting caught in one. Tanuki I don't know."

I'll flash forward to Dagny's update so you have it:

"Nathan. More info on the possible Scimitar case. The perp definitely came from west of Cress. Cameras caught them. Porygon thinks the source is that Almanac building in the cliffs. Perp isn't talking and will be hiring a big shot lawyer. No ID on him, but Porygon found a cache that we're going through later if lawyers don't stop us."

"Yup, the very same Dagny.  She's still Stair's Gym Leader, wheelchair and Delta Porygon and all.  She could probably help us with nailing the Scimitar base in Wineberry, too, which is hidden underneath the statue in the middle of town and has at least one alternative entrance in other locations there.  As for Tanuki...she's the current Gym Leader of Cress.  She's young and a more recent addition, but she's dedicated to what she does.  Since this involves stuff that's been happening in Cress, she's probably going to be interested in at least hearing about it, even though a lot of it happened before she took the position of Gym Leader.  After all, there's a lot of problems going on in her city, the city she loves, right now. I'm not sure she has a lot of concrete evidence that could help with this case, but she'll probably want to know about what's going on anyways."

When does Nathan get that call, exactly?

In any case, his immediate, quick response to her is: "Alright.  By the way, you're going to want to listen carefully, Dagny, because we just bagged a Scimitar leader who goes by the name Juni.  How we captured her is a long story, but we're bringing her in.  A lot of loose ends are getting tied together, apparently, and we might be able to knock out multiple birds with a single stone."

He gets the call before you guys go anywhere.

"Ah. I assume you have a plan, then?" You can hear her typing.
"Ah. Ahh. Hm, make sure you have rock solid evidence. No, no, don't worry about it, we'll handle it. Tell me your plan."

"We're currently working on figuring out what evidence to leverage against her.  There's an old case from three years ago that involved a man getting attacked at the Skull Ruins by Scimitars and a large group of trainers, including a Detective Thrawn, getting assaulted and/or kidnapped by the same group in an attempt to keep them from looking into that attack at the Ruins.  Juni lead that group of Scimitars.  And we happen to know some rather important details about that case that weren't known three years ago, and Detective Thrawn is with us as well.  Again, long story, and I'm not comfortable with sharing much of it out in the open in the middle of Route 13, but some of that information could put her in incredibly hot water.  We've also interrogated Juni and one of her grunts about a lot of different things and have recorded and written evidence of what they both said, which includes two accounts of there definitely being a Scimitar base hidden in those Almanac Labs.  Strings of criminal activity from Scimitars recently don't look favorably on her since she's a part of that same organization.  My pokemon and I getting attacked in Wineberry, an attempted kidnapping on Shiva, the recent attempted break-in, the Scimitar hideout underneath Wineberry...and I'm sure that's not even everything they've done recently.  We've also got all of Juni's very unhappy pokemon captive and a currently intact gauntlet that we literally took off of her arm, but the thing's wired to self destruct just like the ones those Scimitars that tried to kidnap Shiva had.  I'm not sure if it will explode or not, but the explosive probably still needs to be disarmed sooner rather than later."

"In short, there's a lot we could potentially leverage against her.  But the situation is...complicated, to say the least, mostly because of how we captured her in the first place.  Thrawn's trying to help us figure out what we are and aren't going to say."

Nathan puts his 'dex away for now.  "That was Dagny, Detective.  Seems the culprit of that recent break-in was caught on camera approaching from the west, which happens to be where Almanac's labs are on the Cress Cliffs.  Both Juni and the grunt Terra interrogated said there were plans to hide a Scimitar base in there.  Dagny's looking into Juni right now if the amount of typing she was doing is any indication.  She wants me to call her back once we've figured out what we're doing."
