"Type matchups. Safari Zone Pokemon tend to be grass, bug, poison...few big Normal types like Stantler, Tauros, Kangaskhan. If you can find something to counter those, you'll do better. Gear. Repels don't help much. Spend that space on something else. No Pokeballs are allowed in the Zone except your Safari Balls, so you have to pick your items carefully. Can't reduce the weight automagically. Healing items are small and fit in your pack with no problems, but big stuff like cooking gear and tents can be a problem. Some forego a tent entirely and just rely on survival skills. Plenty of natural resources for raw materials."

Nathan thinks out loud for a moment...

"...okay, I think I definitely have a decent enough lineup of pokemon to deal with those types well enough...Fire, Psychic, Fighting, Rock, Flying, maybe Ground...should be able to cherry pick a few from my box for the various wild pokemon...healing hopefully won't be too much of an issue either since Potions are easy to carry and Gallade knows Heal Pulse...Ditto and Calam might be useful to bring too...hmmm...main issue I'm going to have is probably the non-battle related parts...I'm probably going to need some supplies...which definitely means I'm going to need some more cash..."

"...what about the tournament itself?  What do you know about those rules?"

After being spurred on by their repeated trickery and antics, Lapis made relatively short work of Klefki, before he unwound himself around them with a satisfied smirk to allow Brazen to recall them. Guess he's the winner of the endurance competition of their's, hm? Good. Nobody beats him when it comes to tanking and spanking (Save for Angie perhaps, but he doesn't count fellow partners as competion!), so this defeat will teach the little upstart some respect.

Terra has a small grin on his face as he nods to his marvelous serpent, clearly rather relieved and happy that Klefki is taken out, then turns to the Shieldmaiden. No more Heal Blocks or other shenaningans, at least from them!

"One down, one to go. Send out you next Pokemon Brazen. *Beat* .....Please."

Lapis Lazuli is remaining on the field, as why would I forfiet + 2 STR, + 1 Defense and Accuracy?
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Heart whistle. "Pyroar huh? A pretty neat Pokemon indeed! Thats gonna be a interesting battle." Heart looks at D-Onix. "Onix, dont let your guard down even if you have the typing advantage. Lets bring some buffs before engaging in the battle. Lets buff a bit with Tailwind! Then go with Wrap and 2 Rock Slide!"

Tailwind Accuracy: Dex (5) + Fight (4) + Channel (3) - Actions (4) = 8D6
Effect: Increase Dexterity of the user and allies in 2 Stages.

Wrap Accuracy: Dex (5) + Fight (4) + Brawl (3) - Accuracy (2) - Actions (5) = 5D6
Damage: Power (1) + STR (3) = 4D6
Effect: Block and cause 2D6 of dice damage against the foe in each end of the round.

Rock Slide Accuracy: Dex (5) + Fight (4) + Brawl (3) - Accuracy (1) - Actions (6/7) = 5D6/4D6
Damage: Power (3) + STR (3) + STAB (1) + SE (1) = 7D6+1
Effect: D3 chance to Flinch.

Extra Notes: Since D-Onix is equipped with the Everlink Armor, he have +1 in defense, raising his vitality to 6*. If Harden works his vitality going to 7*. Unless of course the foe use a physical damage move. If Harden dont work
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

Cottonee's at 6/7hp, Raichu's at +2 Dext and has suffered 1 damagepoint so far.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shiva can see and feel her black cat panting and trying hard to keep herself on her four paws, but thanks to some encouraging words Purrloin manages to slash the nasty spider to avenge the pain she has suffered! She lets out a triumphant and proud meow and lets Cottonee leap forward to hopefully deal a finishing blow...

...which she spectacularly does with another display of Night Daze!! Shiva could leap for joy over the defeating of Ariados, vivid Cottonee even does accompanied by a melodic chirrup. The next moment, Raichu evens the match due to dealing a finishing blow themselves, forcing the natural fae enthusiast to withdraw Purrloin. "You did very well for your first battle though, dear one..." she tells her fondly through the transparent Ball, "Thank you for your effort and hard work! Enjoy your rest, I'll make sure you'll be healed as soon as possible."

In return for Purrloin - smol baby Eevee appears on the battlefield?! Shiva seems a lot more confident now that Ariados posses no threat anymore, which will hopefully rub off on the only shortly hatched Eevee - she knows that even young Pokemon are able to battle if one does not overdo it right away, young Eevee especially start to playfully fight with their siblings early for training. Cottonee's also there to aid Eevee in his first battle. "Alright, Eevee... That's your debut, please concentrate on my voice, stay alerted and try to not let the big speedy Raichu discourage you! We CAN make it. Cottonee, try sapping Raichu's energy again, before making for a shiny finish. Eevee, your task for now is to aid your partner in her actions, alright?"

------------------------------------------------------------------------

It doesn't really matter how well Eevee scores in the Init Roll as it won't have an influence on his actions. He's holding a Sitrus Berry he's asked to nom if suffering too much pain, that one I gave him right after hatching!

Accuracy Roll Eevee's Helping Hand 1 on Cottonee! A 0xp move for him: 4 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Perform - 3 Actions = 6d6
Accuracy Roll Helping Hand 2 on Cottonee: 4 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Perform - 4 Actions = 5d6
Accuracy Roll Helping Hand 3 on Cottonee: 4 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Perform - 5 Actions = 4d6
Effect: More power, more accuracy.
Secondary Effect: And more determination for Cottonee. This move has +5 Priority.

Cottonee will go for a Giga Drain followed by two Dazzling Gleams. But if she sufferes -2 Pain after the first Giga Drain, she'll use it once more as second Action and then a final Dazzling Gleam. Both share the same Accuracy Roll and both are targeted on Raichu naturally:

Accuracy Roll Attack 1: 4 Dext + 2 Fight + 5 Channel + 2 HelpingHand if successfull - 3 Actions = 10d6 - Pain if applicable
Accuracy Roll Attack 2: 4 Dext + 2 Fight + 5 Channel + 2 HelpingHand if successfull - 4 Actions = 9d6 - Pain if applicable
Accuracy Roll Attack 3: 4 Dext + 2 Fight + 5 Channel + 2 HelpingHand if successfull - 5 Actions = 8d6 - Pain if applicable

Damage Roll Giga Drain: 4*Strength + 3 Power of the move + STAB + held Miracle Seed + 2 HelpingHand if successful = 11d6
Additional notes: Half the damage done if healed.

Damage Roll Dazzling Gleam: 4*Strength + 3 Power of the move + STAB + 2 HelpingHand if successfull = 10d6
Additional notes: Would hit all foes. Debut of the fluffball's move!

Small Cottonee can be such a powerhouse. o.o

"You can use any Pokemon you catch during the 24 hour period. Each battle is 2v2. It's single elimination - just one loss and you're not eligible for any of the three prizes. No items or even held items. Fainting is allowed. No double battles allowed. Very simple battles, really."
