[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
@Iron
To not cause trouble, or make Chespin and the wood pokemon upset, Heart decide to play along with the others, making the gestures and medidate like the other Pokemon. Maybe that way he may learn a bit of the magestic of the Eartpower since Chespin it's some kind of Spiritual Leader? If not at least this might please Chespin and make him more volunteer to join with Heart.

Did Heart need to do some kind of medidation roll Iron?

Shiva enters the log gate to the Safari Zone! This place is just full to bursting with Pokemon - the big grazers are easy to see from any distance, like Tauros. The sky is full of birds, and so are the clear bodies of water which dot the beautiful reserve. Bugs, bugs, and more bugs rustle all the plants - so many Bug Pokemon that you have to plan your gathering to avoid them.

Since this area is not managed by humans, there is a larger variety of nature than usual. For example, you see scrubby trees, tall trees, healthy trees, sickly trees, and dead trees that never got chopped up or burned. They make great habitat for Pokemon, or even shelter for humans in a pinch. Some people make crude canoes out of the hollow trees, or fine silver canoes using the flexible bark of certain dying trees. You can also fold it into baskets.

There are also many good sources of cordage. The common ones are the inner bark of trees, and the twisted fibers of Red or White Vulbane. A rare source of cordage is sinew or hides from slain Pokemon.

You might see the ingredients for a few good Held Items, such as Miracle Seed, Silver Powder, Poison Barb, Soft Sand, etc. And herbs for medicines.

A good gatherer can find lots of amazing art supplies, like the ones in the mail-order nature store.

So here's how it works: for each of your encounters, you can give me up to 2 broad categories of craftables you want to find. For example, medicine and art. You can even give me some specific things you'd like to craft. There may be a Survival, Crafting, Medicine, Lore, or Science check to see if you know how to craft that item.
If you were looking for Pokemon instead of supplies, you might tell me what habitats you go to - streams, hollow logs, open plains. Or maybe even a specific Pokemon.

I'll roll 1d6 for aggressive Pokemon first. If it is equal to or less than the Area number, you'll have to deal with some aggressive Pokemon.

Then I'll roll for what you find. I do this by rolling d6's until you roll a number higher than the Area number - a fail. The number of these special successes (Safari Successes?) determines the rarity of what you find. This applies to both Pokemon and items.

So you can see, a higher Area means more dangerous but rarer things. I'll give you an example below for Shiva's first Encounter here.

(3) You bypass Level 1. You had to roll a 1 to fail. You are now in Area 4.
(3) Uh oh! You had to roll a 1-4 to fail, so you failed to avoid aggressive Pokemon. A Scolipede attacked!
(3)(4)(4)(6) - three Safari Successes <= 4. Shiva finds something a little bit rare, in the category of art I assume.

Shiva didn't really spend enough time in Area 1 to find a Mincinno. It's a long, skinny Area on the banks of a river. Hollow trees have been cast across the river, and you can walk through them to get to other Areas. There are shallow pools here but no deep bodies of water. No thick forests, either, since the frequent battles keep any dense vegetation from growing.

Area 4 is more regular in shape. Shiva finds herself on a grassy hill - it's a very gradual slope, but it goes on for a long long time! A couple Whirlipede roll right past, but a Scolipede runs right up to her, spitting venom! You are allowed to run away or battle it or do something more creative, but remember you cannot faint it.

Assuming Shiva isn't killed by Scolipede, she does find something called a Pecha Gall.. It's a mutation by a Pecha Berry bush, causing it to grow a large round woody growth. These often appear to have knobbly faces hidden within them, and they can also be carved like you'd carve wood - if you have a delicate chisel and a steady hand. Bonus points, the juice of the gall is usable as an ingredient in medicines to heal Confusion.

She finds one more thing in Area 4, almost into Area 5. It's a feather, but it's very special. It almost looks like one of Dunseraph's new feathers, but scintillating pink. Or a little like Togekiss down. Anyway, it's perfectly formed, perfectly intact, and unbelievably light. To Shiva, it can be nothing but the feather of an angel! She found it in a scattering of Gloom petals.

Scolipede Round 1

Did Heart need to do some kind of medidation roll Iron?

When Heart makes the gestures, he doesn't feel any answering surge of Earthpower. He can conclude that either you have to be a Pokemon, or you have to understand what Chespin is saying. Chespin doesn't seem to mind that he can see Heart playing along on the sidelines, but they don't make any room for you in the circle of woodland creatures.

At one point, however, Chespin makes a gesture you've heard of in your travels - the Opening of the Third Eye. It's just a hand signal, there's no visible third eye, but it's supposed to let a mystic see more than is visible in light. After doing that, and looking at Heart for a while, Chespin's eyebrows shoot up into his hat and he spares you a smile before continuing his lesson.

Heart accompany for a while the lesson, shooting a eyebrow when Chespin looks to him in the Opening of the Third Eye. He did remember hearing something in his travels. Maybe Chespin have something around Heart mission in guard a Moltres Egg? Or maybe his power he get from Jirachi Wish Tags?

After what appears be a long time, Heart approach Chespin and bow in respect when the meditation session have ended. "I sorry I have interrupt your lesson noble Mystic Leader. My name is Heart and this Trevenant is my companion Viktor. It's nice to meet you. You seen like a strong and also wise Pokemon. I could also be consider a pilgrimage, doing my best to learn more and become a more wise leader. I want to rebuild my long destroyed clan and I want to learn to be a more wise and mercy leader. Your help both in the battles and in teaching me could help me become a better leader."

(5K? unless I haven't properly been keeping track of Spira's money, that would put Spira at -$1875, ouch)
Spira leafs through his wallet and realizes he don't have enough money. "Um, I only have $3,125, is it alright if I put the remainder on a tab?" If the attendant doesn't let him open a tab, he'll go around town, finding a way to make some quick dough.

Brazen: "Good advice. I'm very thankful for the battle and the chance to talk to someone so interesting. Ever thought of working for the League? See, I'm a Shieldmaiden, the traditional warriors of the League. Our job is to defend and protect Trainers and Pokemon in the region. The Shieldmaidens are a ceremonial order, women only, but there are men with our exact same job description and resources. They just aren't decked out in the same ceremonial regalia."

"The most dangerous part of the Safari is called Area Six. It's a smaller area, toward the rear, and contains some higher elevations and denser vegetation. All kinds of dangerous Pokemon in there, from Bouffalant to Nidoking. There are even said to be dragon Pokemon hiding in the waters of Area Six! The dangerous Pokemon correspond to rarer Pokemon, too, because very few trainers ever go there. Most who do are Gym Leaders or trainers with a lot of badges, or high level League authorities."

I won't bother rolling the Pidgey capture, yeah.

Digging Gear: $500.
Super Rod: $10,000. This can catch rare things like Gyarados and Dratini. That price comes with some basic bait, but you can get better bait for $500 per roll.
Food is 0$ still.

Chespin gestures, indicating that you may ask him any questions you have.

Did you bring anything from the past that could be sold as an antique?

Also, there is a pawn shop (Trading Post) in Teazel Valley. You can create a tab there if you leave something as collateral. You could leave your entire collection of Pokeballs (useless in the Safari Zone) as collateral for the $1875, then sell something you catch in the Safari Zone to get them back.

You could also leave a Pokemon as collateral, but that's not very nice and could cost Happiness or Loyalty.
