[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
The discussion of mythicals and legendaries probably belongs in a new thread, unless you're discussing Creshire's in particular.

I'm going to leave Super Fang the way I ruled it in that last battle, because I want this Chapter to feel very powerful and speedy. So I don't mind if the balance errs on the side of strong. If it seems to be a problem, I'll apply Windos' nerf as I find that very reasonable.

You can expect elite trainers to use it, but Campers and folks like that won't be using it much since they're used to fighting low HP opponents.

And that's that, all the arguments for and against have already been made!

The bad news: Gonna be busy the next several days so I might not get to your posts for a while. Maybe tonight. We had a really productive posting streak yesterday though, so I'm not too worried!

*Facepalm* And that translation not gonna say anything about the lost interpretation of the translators to translate "Surprise Attack" and still keep the error for other generation. Lets leave at that.

Thats makes sense. Maybe with such short arms he could never really punch things.

To chip in me two cents, Sucker Punch is also an English saying/turn of phrase that roughly means 'Being taken off guard by something (Most commonly being attacked, but it can be metaphorical as well)', so in a way its translation is entirely fitting, if confusing and misleading if someone isn't aware of the saying's deep meanings. Could have been clarified by the Move text stating its a surprise attack of some sort, though, but I believe its a bit too late for that by now.

Eh, that's okay, as that just gives us all plenty of free time to work on other things, and like you said we DO have our super posting days! Hope your business is fun and/or not too hard on you, mate!

Have a question Iron: Is it possible for Anubi to safely/not Lethally Paralyze/Burn Dragalge after its Fainted with Force Palm/Blaze Kick? Assuming I recall him to dispel his Nasty Plot buff and try/fail to capture Dragalge the first time and that clears their Defense Debuffs, would a Held Back Force Palm (STR + 2 + 1 - 1 IF - 5 Vitality = 3D6 - 1 Damage, Halved for both Moves?) always deal zero damage but eventually Paralyze/Burning the venomous drake? If not, could Terra use Bastion and have them cast Wide Guard on itself and Dragalge, THEN have Anubi apply Force Palm Paralysis, THEN Blaze Kick Burn 2?

I want to stack as many Status on the Dragon as possible for Pokeball Captures, as I know their kind has HIGH Will Scores for capture, and I don't think Terra would object to doing that if it means he can capture it and then get it healed ASAP upon it going to the Pokemon Center.

That plan doesn't quite work because you can't Hold Back a move to 0 dmg, and Protect moves negate bonus effects if they negate all damage dice.

If you don't mind a risk of applying Lethal damage, you could just smack it around dealing 0 or 1 dmg each time. It will usually be 0 dmg because of the ineffectiveness. Kind of a jerk move to the Pokemon though.

Welp, that's why I asked!

I don't mind doing that, but Terra would (He's distinctly not a jerk/overly pragmatic, unlike me), so I guess their will be no smacking Dragalge beyond Fainting it. Oh well!

Oh, and I don't think a failed capture should count as recalling a Pokemon, otherwise you'd lose Confusion when you did that.

Huh....didn't think about that. Thanks for pointing that out, mate!

That Dragalge (Definately waiting to sell outside of TV.....does Nathan still have the contact details of the Poison Trainer he got the Monkey Knot from? He'd probably bite at a Ulti-Poison type like it!) + the Crawdaunt together completely pay off the Super Rod + Bait and then some (Plus the Pokeballs spent on them!), so that means I can now keep the Swolturtle without feeling pressured into selling it later to recoup costs! Yay! Hopefully it won't feel too sore over getting thrashed and the treated as a pin cushion, but if so then their's Disobedence Camp/hard work for that.

Uh...maybe?  That's not something that I thought would come up again, to be honest...it was originally a one-time idea I had so I could trade Skorupi and Zubat (plus some cash) for a Destiny Knot to give to Shiva.

Specifically, that character was a Poison type Breeder as I recall, and he looks the part, too.  There's all kinds of people in Stair.

At the very least, Terra could ask Nathan were the best place to sell a Dragalge would be (He wouldn't know/remember about Shiva's Skelp), which could lead him to sell it there/to Poison Breeder later on. Hmm, or maybe in Arrowroot or Elanor, depending on the majority type of Pokemon lurking there...decisions decisions.

Dragalge is sorta a special Pokemon, as it gets plenty of Water Moves that can bypass a Steel type's Defenses against its STABs, while being utter Fairy bane too. Ice, Ground (Partially), Psychic, and other Dragons still give it cain, though, but it's a great Pokemon that uses the most of its Typing! Plus, Dragon Tail can just force out bad match ups and forcibly end a Round in its favor, so that's more goodness for it too!
