Everything concerning Shiva's first shift as Volunteer Ranger feels properly wrapped up, so I'll continue if that's okay. Am having a mechanical/scenical question though, wasn't it said that Area 6 is completely surrounded by Area 5 and one may run into a Suprise Encounter if passing Area 5 to reach Area 6? I haven't seen that being rolled or applied when Spira went there, maybe it's been forgotten. My third shifts will take place there and Nathan's going there next too, so it may be a thing.

Soon after having bid goodbye to the forfeiting Trainer Shiva resumes to scout the area a bit - she, Primal Glaceon and Lilith will do so from below while Raphael has darted back into the sky to do so from above. Per usual the benelovent archangel is asked to give Shiva an early warning in case he spots something that seems off or dangerous. Things have become real just few hours ago but it's already visible that the natural fae enthusiast takes her given duties rather seriously!

As soon as a Ranger comes to take over from her, she'll give a short report on what has happened during her watch and then kindly excuse herself. The downtime's used for gathering as already done.

Area No.5 is the one she has signed up next for - this Level is a bit special for her as it's 1. as farest as Shiva would dare to advance into the Safari Zone all alone and 2. the border between Area 4 and 5 marks the place she has found that precious angel's feather. She remembers the exact spot where she has found it and will revisit it during downtime to see if she or her Pokemon can't find any hints where in Reshiram's name this extraordinaire feather comes from and whether it has anything to do with the Gloom petals she found the feather scattered among. That, and she'll check the bases or nearby trees in hopes to gather more neat (Pokemon-)feathers and/or hair alongside the much-sought Spring Sawsbuc antler. Can Nightshade as her currently only Grass Type actually help on that? In short, once more Art Category.

Dragalge Round 2

Force Palm 1
(2)(6)(1)(2)(6)(2)
(4)(1)(5)(1)(3)(4) (4)
Paralysis: (6)(3)(6) Dragalge was paralyzed and faints.

This big Pokemon was worth 10XP.
10 Will, -5, -1
Pokeball: (1)(3) v (3)(2)(1)(4) Breaks
(4)(4) v (2)(4)(5)(4) Breaks
Great Ball: (4)(6)(5)(4) v (2)(2)(3)(5)

Gotcha! Dragalge was caught!

0/0/5
Poison Touch
6 base HP as normal
Dragon Tail, Twister, Smokescreen, Poison Tail, Water Pulse, Toxic, Aqua Tail, Sludge Bomb, Dragon Pulse

Here's an example of a Pokemon worth more than 10k just for its species alone, despite the disobedience. Since it has many useful moves you could get 12k for it outside of Teazel Valley.

Safari Zone - Nathan 2

I suppose we could make the Noctowl Pellet a 1-power Natural Gift with either Flying Type (Noctowl) or Ghost Type (It's full of the bones of dead rodent Pokemon). Can't decide which.

Bypassing Area 5: (6) Congrats.

Aggression: (2) Hoo boy! It's an Arbok, which actually seems to be fleeing from something. When it sees Nathan, it attacks in a panic.

Rarity: (4)(5)(5)(2)(1)(4) still goin' (5)(6). 7 Safari successes!! Well, Nathan had a certain parasitic, saprophytic Pokemon in mind... it's possible he was looking among decaying logs. That's where he sees a little blue light emanating from a knothole! Inside, a pair of blue eyes glows in the dark, though the Pokemon seems to be asleep. The gills of the mushroom on this bug Pokemon's back are glowing with spooky phosphorescent light, and the back of the cap is translucent enough to see this light. Yep, it's the Delta Parasect!

Heart casually strides after the fleeing group of eggs, throwing Pokeballs at it on the go. He's just that much faster than it.

Safari Ball: (5)(4)(4)(3) v (6)(4)

Gotcha! Exeggcute was caught!
0/1/0
Barrage, Uproar, Hypnosis, Leech Seed, Bullet Seed, Confusion

That's just worth 2XP.

Hmmmm...well, I guess we can just think on that for now.  Like the theme of it being a Ghost Natural Gift, but Flying is arguably more useful for a Ground type, even if it is really weak...

Attacks in a panic, you say?  What gender is said Arbok, because that's going to affect my orders significantly! An Attract might be able to help calm the snake down if it's male! Or I could also put it to sleep with Hypnosis and not attack it while it's snoozing to try and calm it down that way, I suppose...

And holy moly, I actually find a Delta Parasect without having to wait until nighttime?!  Sweet!  Better deal with Arbok first, though!

"Hmm. Well, alright. Let me circle around, and on the count of three we'll both rush in."

Off she goes.

"One...two..........three!"

What's the plan?

Safari Zone - Shiva 2

Yeah, I'm supposed to roll an Aggressive Pokemon check to reach Area 6, and you have to get a 6 to avoid it. Guess Spira automatically rolls a 6. I also went back for Nathan and actually did roll a 6, so he doesn't have to fight 3 Pokemon at once now.

If you already have a full Encounter in Area 5, you don't have to worry about it on the way to 6.

Aggression: (4)
While investigating the feather's location, a Gloom happens along! It's not missing any petals, per se, but there are some wounds that look recently healed with human medicine. It immediately takes up a battle stance.

If Gloom doesn't kill you, here's what you find:
Rarity: (6) Nothing! You find the fairly common Urlat bush, which can be used to make UltraSnax. You have enough for 3 Snax. Nighsthade finds those; guess she's hungry.

Perfect!  Here comes Juliet again with an Attract!  Supplemented by Nathan saying, "Whoa whoa whoa!  Slow down there, Arbok!  We don't need to fight!  Maybe we can help!"  Maybe that lack of immediate aggression in response to being attacked will help calm Arbok down a little?

If that doesn't deliver an adequate message, though, then Juliet will follow up with a Hypnosis to try and make Arbok stop attacking!

Attract 1~
Acc: 6* + 4 + 4* - 2 Actions = 12 D6
Effect: Arbok becomes infatuated! Hopefully that helps dissuade Arbok from attacking the random passerby!

Hypnosis 2 (Juliet) (if Arbok doesn't stop attacking after Juliet attempts to use Attract)
Acc: 6* + 4 + 3 - 4 Accruacy - 3 Actions = 6 D6
Effect: Sleepy time again!

Gallade's at the ready as well, ready to use a Hypnosis of his own to try and calm Arbok down if Juliet's doesn't work!

Hypnosis 1 (Gallade)
Acc: 9 base after innate inaccuracy (not sure if he'll have an action penalty or not)
Effect: Same as Juliet's!

Arbok isn't quite a Dragon, but he is in the Dragon egg group!  Let's see if Nathan can tame him...since Arbok is scared rather than angry, that should be doable, right?

...and ya know what, I think it's also about time I increased Nathan's Empathy to 3 for 12 exp! Just in case that might help here, but also to better reflect some of his character traits.

Oh, and as a reminder: Juliet is holding the Eviolite, so she currently has 4* Defense.
