[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

"Tch looks like we'll have to do some damage to make it easier to catch" Spira tries to catch up with it (I'll use 6 of my current exp to increase Spira's Athletics to 1, and pursuit would now be 7D6) and sends out Toya if he's able to catch up. Toya use Bind to block it while we attempt to catch it."

Bind:
Accuracy: Dex+Fight+Brawl-2= 11D6
Damage: Strength+1= 4D6
Notes: block; 2D6 damage at the end of each round, lasts 4 rounds
Special: Reapplied in 4 rounds if the Chansey isn't caught

Crafting plushies out of my Cottonee's fluff to sell, gift or keep doesn't take an Encounter, I usually slipped that in anywhere where there's enough time for Shiva or combined it with one or two of her Pokemon training for themselves and you agreed to it by rolling for the result. Can we keep that up or do you want to change it as well?

Quote:Gloom doesn't act afraid of you, but it doesn't attack if you're not bringing out a Pokemon. He shakes his head about the Rangers healing him, but he acts realllly interested in the first aid kit. He stretches his little arms out and waggles them in its direction.

Gloom does reach its arms out to take some of your berries and gobble them hungrily, which I imagine makes Shiva's adrenaline spike even more. Gloom lets its drool dissolve the berries.

Oh it certainly does, Shiva can feel her heart throbbing and that flee-or-fight-issue kicking in from the adnrealine flooding her body more and more. It's a halfway a miracle that she has choosen to stay herself and interact with that Gloom so kindly, but due to the circumstances and her current Willpower (for my chara 5 WillPoints are a lot) she makes a fine job to keep calm. Any unease or fear will probably show and likely turn things around drastically here, Shiva can't afford to let that happen - given she has put on the gloves she has gotten from Almanac which alloweded her to even hold her smol Skrelp without risk, she should be just fine while letting Gloom take some berries from her hand.

A rather quizzical and honestly suprised expression flashes over her as the Weed Pokemon negates her question whether the Rangers have healed them. "No...? Well then, lil' one, mind to tell and describe to me who or what has healed you? It's day, and your wounds look too recently healed to have done that yourself via Moonlight. A choir of Lucky Chants to the heaven though...?" She looks at Gloom with interest and a light smile when mentioning that. "Ah, and sure you can investigate the first aid kit!~" ^o^ *handing it over* "But don't use anything of it please, haha! That's only for emergencies."

---------------------------
Now I wonder whether for 100+XP a Pokemon can be thaught to hold and use human medicine like Potions and such.

Fishing - 3

(5)(6)(3)(2)(5)(2) (5)(2) = 5 successes.

You fish up a Politoed. Its antenna droops, but the Pokemon is very perky!

Politoed became poisoned and lost 2 hp. 7/9hp

Safari Zone - Heart 3

You enter Zone 5!

Aggro: (3) QUACK! QUACK! An angry Golduck is waddling toward you. Its gem is glowing.

Rarity: (1)(3)(6) - 2 Safari Successes. You find a calm Mareep - a useful Pokemon, but not too rare. It's just nibbling on grass right now, on a little hill above Golduck's pond.

Delta Parasect Round 0

Stealth:
(2)(4)(2)(3)(6)(1) (4)(1)(6)(5)(5)
(3)(4)(6)(5)(4)(2) (1)(6)(6)(3)(6)
(2)(1)(5)(4)(2)(1) (3)(1)(2)(4)(4)
Listen: (6)(1)(1)(1)(5)(2) (3)(6)

Normally you can't squeeze a trainer action in on a stealth mission, but since Parasect is asleep I will give you one single action right before it wakes up.

Thunder Wave 1
(2)(3)(1)(5)(6)(1) (2)(6)(4)(5)(3)(3)
Delta Parasect was paralyzed!

Confusion 1
(3)(2)(5)(6)(5)(6) (3)(1)(3)(4)(1)(5) Critical hit, but Parasect also has some cover so it cancels out.
(5)(3)(2)(3) Parasect takes 1 dmg
Confusion: (6) Nailed it.

Safari Ball: (6)(2)(5)(6) v (3)(4)(1)
The pale body of the Pokemon is absorbed into the Pokeball first, swirling like a wisp of fog. Little glowing threadlike roots remain. Then the mushroom cap is also converted to data and stored within the capture net.

Gotcha! Delta Parasect was caught!
Typing is Ghost/Grass
2/1/3
Effect Spore
Base HP is 4 as normal.
Cross Poison, Stun Spore, Poison Powder, Rage Powder, Psybeam
Lovely Kiss (replaces Spore). Just use Canalize for accuracy as we normally do.
Leech Seed (replacing Leech Life)
Shadow Claw (replacing Slash)
Draining Kiss (replacing Scratch)
Roar

Moves not yet learned:
Curse (replacing Fury Cutter)
Heal Block (replacing Aromatherapy)
Infestation: 20XP
Gastro Acid: 10XP

Golduck will let you leave if you don't pursue Mareep.

You've had three Encounters now, so you have to decide: are you going to make camp now, or keep searching as you grow tired?

You'll automatically get 2 more Encounters tomorrow before the Cup ends.

"Aw, be very careful. Poor Chansey...at least it can't get away now, as much as it would probably like to."

She also tosses a ball before you Bind it.

It breaks.

Bind 1
(6)(5)(2)(3)(4)(4) (6)(6)(5)(5)(2) Critical hit.
Chansey Evades but cannot possibly succeed.
(3) No damage. Chansey was trapped!

Spira Safari Ball 1
(6)(2)(2)(2) v (5)(1)(5)(4)(6)(5) (6)(6)(5)(1)
That ball shatters for sure.

Growl 2
(6)(4)(6)(1)
-1 Str for you guys.

Angela Safari Ball 2
(6)(1)(1)(4) v (1)(4)(5)(6)(4)(6) (5)(2)(1)(5)

Crafting something easy and safe, like fluff, while watching your Pokemon, is OK. Anything involving a knife or fire, not so much.

Gloom spots your angel feather, and points to that.

Yeah, a Pokemon using human medicine would be an expensive Surprise, but possible!

Nice.  That worked beautifully.

This encounter isn't quite over yet, though.

Nathan heads over to the tree where Arbok and Juliet are currently, looking up at the snake pokemon.  "You feeling better now, Arbok?  I've removed the creepy Parasect from the area, so if that's what was wrong, it should be safe to come down now.  Not sure if there are any more in the area, though.  If ya want, I could get you outta here and away from whatever other creepy pokemon might be around, too.  I wouldn't mind bringing ya along since you seem like a nice enough snake.  And I'm sure that you'd be a wonderful addition to my party of pokemon.  So, what do ya say?"

Maybe Nathan and Juliets' actions will be enough to convince Arbok to join?  They did just help him out without a second thought, after all.
