[Game] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure: Celadon City Vandel

Back into the Luxury Ball Poe goes, then!

Hmmm...well then, time for Arbok to not play nice, I imagine.

Reiner raises an eyebrow.  "...so, the doc can battle as well, eh?  Well then, this oughta be interesting...particularly since you decided to try to intimidate Arbok..."

Reiner casually slips a hand into his pocket...

"Arbok, don't let the doc get to you.  The time to strike is now."

...and then Arbok is surrounded by that sphere of sickly, purple light again...and when it bursts...

*hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*

As the eight heads simultaneously hiss at the pokemon that attempted to cow him, Arbok looms over the plague doctor as he does the exact same to her.

Petrify activates, reducing Cathy's Dex by 1!  Arbok's Initiative is also bumped up to 14 from the Mega Boost!

Whether Taylor's heard of the incredibly rare Mega Arbok or not, I don't think Taylor ever expected Reiner to have one!

And said pokemon proceeds to lay into the plague doctor, attempting to immobilize her in some fashion (partially out of spite) with his now freezing cold mawsAll eight of them.

Ice Fang 1-4
Acc: 5* Dex + 5 Fight + 2 Brawl + 1 Coil - 1 Acc - 4/5/6/7 Actions = 8/7/6/5 D6
Dmg: 2 + 6* - 3 = 5 D6
Eff: Flinch (4) and Freeze (2)

And if he manages to Freeze Cathy, can't seem to Flinch/Freeze her for some reason (including if Ice Fang gets Disabled), or gets too frustrated, his remaining actions will instead be...

GUNK SHOT 2-4
Acc: 5* + 5 + 3 + 1 - 2 - 5/6/7 = 7/6/5 D6
Dmg: 6* + 5 + STAB - 3 = 9 D6
Eff: Doesn't matter.

Let's see if Arbok's newfound luck pays off...or if his snake eyes somehow sabotage his best efforts again.  They certainly tried to in the last Round, didn't they?

You are indeed correct, for her eyes totally bug out at the sight of the hissing hyrda, and she struggled hard not to break out in a fit of swearing (Least she teach Hope more naughty words and anger you).

"What that- you have access to Mega Arbok? I thought Arbokites only popped up in Tandor, last time I check, so how in the he-heck did you get your hands one AND a Key Stone! Da-Darn! Cathy, hard defense now! That snake's a real monster now, so treat it exactly like one!.

Unlike their partner, the doc was completely unphased by Arbok's transformation beyond felling a bit more sluggish, simply steppling its hands as they stared him down like a cadaver, ready to be autopsied. So so so, the Mega Arbok is trying to cause them woe woe woe. Tsk tsk, time to invert its wish wish.

Reiner Vs Taylor Round 6!

Immediately, the poisonous python whips forward, all its frosted maws aimed squarely at the dire doctor, who didn't even try to dodge out of the way!

Ice Fang 1
(4)(4)(3)(*1 [Yes, it can be rerolled into a 1....]) (4)(2)(3)(3) Hits!
(3)(*3)(1)(6)(1) Those snake eyes apparently didn't appreciate us taunting them.... Cathy, despite being bitten by multiple freezing cold maws, is unaffected! They look bored, even!
Freeze: (4)(2) Nope
Flinch: (5)(6)(5)(5) The cold seemed to bother them despite it all, though! Flinch!

Confused and a little frustrated, the coiling cobra tries to freeze them solid again!

Ice Fang 2
(4)(5)(1)(1)(1)(2)(3) Still a Hit! Man, even with + 2 Luck Arbok's still gets the snake eyes bad. I mean, it's appropriate, but still...
(1)(4)(5)(6)(3) Cathy takes 3 Damage; 10/13 HP, - 1 Pain. Miasmedics have a Base HP of 10, due to literally being doctors that knows how to maximize their Health.
Freeze: (1)(5) Nope
Flinch: (1)(1)(2)(3) Nope

Recovering from the literal cold shoulder given to them, the masked medic spreads their hands wide, pink energy radiating outwards!

Misty Terrain
(2)(5)(3)(3)(6)(3) (1)(3)(2)
The arena is coated and shrouded in glowing pink mists! All Grounded Pokemon are Immune to ALL Status, including Flinch and other 'Soft' Status! Dragon type attacks can't add their Power to the Move's Base Damage!

Hissing in disgust and annoyance as they felt the rejuvenating fae power permeating the battlefield, the venomous viper instantly started to spew its most vile toxins at the questionable quack in retaliation!

GUNK SHOT
(3)(6)(3)(1)(6)(1) Barely Hits! The snake eyes persists.....
(5)(4)(5) (4)(2)(3) (6)(6)(2) Cathy takes 6 Damage; 4/13 HP, - 2 Pain!

The dire doctor is coated with the corrosive toxins, but in an instant they dispel it all with an aura of glowing pink power!

Heal Pulse
(6)(3)(3)(3)(4)(5) (5)
(5)(6)(5)(5)(4)(4)(6) Cathy recovers 7 HP; 11/13 HP, - 1 Pain; 4 Heal Pulses remaining

The masked medic looked no worse for wear after being target by Mega Arbok's most powerful attack; in fact, they looked better. This REALLY cheeses off the hissing hydra, who proceeded to let out an cacophony of *HISSES!* before rapid firing more extremely caustic blasts of poison bile to take them down!

GUNK SHOT 2
(4)(2)(2)(1)(4)(4) Hits!
(2)(3)(4) (6)(3)(6) (4)(2)(2) Cathy takes 4 Damage; 7/13 HP, - 1 Pain

Though again coated in the noxious, deadly, and putrid fluids once more, the quirky quack did not heal themselves, but instead spread their palms out and started channeling power to them!

Reflect
(6)(2)(4)(3)(1)(1)(2)
*Bing!* A wide barrier covers Taylor's side of the field as Cathy swept her hands out! - 1 Damage on all Physical Attacks!

Mega Arbok's out of Actions, so Cathy takes the time to channel even more power through their hands once more!

Light Screen
(4)(4)(4)(3)(4)(3)
*Ding!* Another wide barrier covers Taylor's side of the field! - 1 Damage on all Special Attacks!

Cathy recovers 2 HP from its Pitch Black Sludge! 9/13

By the end of the Round, the questionable quack appeared a little worn down, but not really too badly affected by what happened. Meanwhile, the colossal cobra was incensed that he could quickly reap revenge and dominate the doc for the humilation of scaring him, glaring at them with all his many head that promised he'd melt them down, chomp them out, squeeze them tight, whatever it took to ensure that they'd Faint, and not him. He was not going to lose yet ANOTHER battle in a row this week again, so he's pulling out all the stops to take them down!!!

Taylor lets out a *Sigh* of relief, glad her back up plan worked out mostly okay.

"Whew.......glad Cathy managed to stand against that darn Mega Arbok of yours. Using it against me seem almost like cheating, but considering the trickery I pull, I guess fair's fair....."

Current Status:

Cathy: 9/13 HP, - 1 Pain
M-Arbok: Fresh, Coil Boosted; Cursed with increased frequency of Snakes Eyes due to being a snake, apparently, for that's the only explanation I have for why he gets so many of them. I made absolutely sure my dice were luck proofed, so at this point I blame him for being so dang unlucky. Seesh....

Misty Terrain Count: 3
Reflect Count: 3
Light Screen Count: 3

Reiner's chuckling at having surprised Taylor again.  "You're not the only one with new tricks aplenty.  Funny story about that Arbokite, but I got that around the same time Sneasel got that Razor Claw.  That's a story for later, though.  Arbok, brute force!  If we can't cripple 'em, then we'll just have to try and muscle our way through!  Good news, though: they can't seriously cripple you either.  Go all in!  They can't switch, and they're not nearly as strong as you are, so there's no escape!"

*hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*  *hisssss*

That's the sound of all 8 heads spitting acid in Cathy's direction, not the sound of Arbok hissing menacingly!

Acid Spray 1
Acc: 5* + 5 + 3 + 1 - 5 Actions = 9 D6
Dmg: 2 + STAB + 6* - 3 - Light Screen = 6 D6 - 1 Damage
Eff: -2 Strength for Cathy!  Misty Terrain can't ignore this!

GUNK SHOT 2-5!
Acc: 5* + 5 + 3 + 1 - 2 - 6/7/8/9 = 6/5/4/3 D6
Dmg: 6* + 5 + STAB - 3 - Light Screen = 9/11 D6 - 1 Damage
Eff: Doesn't matter.

And because Arbok is grounded, Misty Terrain protects him from statuses too.  No Attract, no Sweet Kiss...nothin'.  It's all raw power and who can outtank the other now.

In following Rounds, Arbok will use Gunk Shot 4 times (8/7/6/5 accuracy).  If Misty Terrain dissipates, then he'll resume using Ice Fang until it's set up again or Ice Fang is Disabled!

And if Gunk Shot ends up Disabled, Arbok will immediately Screech at Cathy in frustration and substitute all following Gunk Shots with Mud Bombs until his most powerful attack isn't Disabled any more!  (Yup, he knows Mud Bomb already.  He's known it since the start of the campaign, actually.  There's just never been a good reason to use it until now...)

Screech
Acc: 13* Base
Eff: -2 Defense

Mud Bomb
Accuracy: Same as Gunk Shot's
Dmg: 6* + 2 - 1* + SE - Light Screen = 7 D6
Eff: -1 Accuracy (3)

It's a barrage of brute forcing!  Bring it on, Doc!

Your old partner pouts as she receives a taste of her medicine, before she lets out a huff and sharply points at Mega Arbok

"I can see than now, yes, and you'll darn well tell me how you got a hold of it! Getting Mega Stones and Key Stones is hard even for a thief like me, so I'm shaking you down for all the details! Enough about that, though! Cathy, show'em why you can't legally practice medicine anymore in Tandor!"

What? Oh dear, you have a bad feeling all of the sudden......

Cathy for her part continues to be utterly unflappable by her opponent's efforts to Intimidate her (Which pisses them off even more, btw), and raises both hands menacingly toward the poisonous python!

Reiner Vs Taylor Round 7!

Acid Spray 1
(2)(*4)(3)(3)(*4)(4)(3)(4)(4) Critical Hit! Quit it with the snake eyes, Arbok!
(1)(5)(3)(3)(2)(6)(3)(2)  Cathy takes 2 Damage; 7/13 HP
Cathy's STR decreases by 2!

The masked medic actually does react as the enervating venom coated them, staggering for a couple of seconds until they pulled themselves straight up and fired off what appeared to be a pulse of energy at the hissing hydra that looked similar to Heal Pulse - save for its coloration, which was a sickly dark pink.

Anti-Heal Pulse/Heal Pulse Delta (Surprise!)
(3)(1)(4)(1)(3)(2) (4)(6)(6)(1) Hits
Damage: #D6 equal to 1/2 current HP of target, rounded up, and ignoring Defense = 8D6 Damage
(4)(3)(5)(4)(6)(1)(4)(2) Arbok takes 4 Damage; 12/16 HP, - 1 Pain! 3 Heal Pulse Charges left

The instant the Move make contact and was absorbed by the slithering serpent, he started to thrash around violently as it foul energies assaulted his internal biology and did its utmost to bring it to ruination. He soon regained control of himself, however, and soon ALL of his eyes were staring at the dire doctor, their gaze downright acidic as his head opened its maw wide and violently vomited all over them!

GUNK SHOT
(2)(3)(2)(5)(6)(6) Hits!
(3)(3)(2) (6)(3)(6) (2)(3)(3) Cathy takes 1 Damage; 6/13 HP, - 2 Pain

Unfortunately, their intense distress dampened their attack's effect's significantly, which the quirky quack took full advantage off to restore themselves again!

Heal Pulse
(5)(4)(3)(2)(5)(1)(6)(5) Critical Effect.....if it were an Attack! Still, it works!
(2)(3)(6)(4)(6)(6)(3) Cathy recovers 4 HP; 10/13 HP, - 1 Pain; 2 Heal Pulse Charges left

GUNK SHOT 2
(2)(6)(6)(2)(2) Hit!
(6)(6)(4) (1)(1)(3) (3)(4)(1) Cathy takes 2 Damage; 8/13 HP

Another volley of that vile energy is sent zipping towards the colossal cobra!

Anti Heal Pulse 2
(2)(3)(5)(4)(1)(6)(3)(5) Hit.
(6)(3)(6)(5)(1)(4) Mega Arbok takes 4 Damage; 8/16 HP, - 2 Pain!; 1 Heal Charge Pulse left

GUNK SHOT 3
(6)(6)(4)(6) Hits!
(4)(5)(1) (1)(2)(5) (4)(3)(1) Cathy takes 2 Damage; 6/13 HP; - 2 Pain!

*Whoosh!* A burst of pink light scatters the noxious slime!

Heal Pulse 2
(4)(3)(3)(4)(2)(3) Hit!
(4)(4)(5)(5)(4)(5)(5) Cathy fully recovers their HP! 13/13, No Pain! There's out of Heal Pulse Charges, though, oh no! Something that the venomous viper is keen to recognize, and subsequently he redoubles his assault to capitalize on!

GUNK SHOT 4
(4)(4)(4) Hits!
(5)(6)(3) (2)(5)(1) (6)(6)(1) Cathy takes 3 Damage; 10/13 HP, - 1 Pain! Snakes and Reflect really are stigmying Mega Arbok's offense...

Recognizing they were out of HP juice, the dire doctor decides to finally directly snuff out the hissing hydra's assault by holding a hand and *Snapping* their fingers, eyes aglow with power!

Disable
(3)(1)(4)(6)(1)(1)
Mega Arbok's Gunk Shot is Disabled for 4 Rounds!

Cathy recovers 2 HP from PBS! 12/13 HP, No Pain!

All Counts Drop to 2. Disable Count down to 3

Reiner vs Taylor Round 8!

Knowing that their strongest Move has been locked away tight, the colossal cobra decided to express how livid he was by blowing the masked medic's eardrums out with especially *HIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSES!* from all his heads at full volume!

Screech
(4)(5)(6)(4)(2)(2)(3)
Cathy's Defense decreases by 2!

The questionable quack winces slightly at the deafening racket being caused by his foe, which on top of the effect's of Acid Spray leave him feeling very uncomfortable. However, they don't let it show as they suddenly clasp their hands together stared endearing at the slither serpent, they gaze tunneling straight to their core....

'Captivate'
(5)(3)(4)(1)(6)(2) (5)(4)(4)
Instead of thinking they were cute, Mega Arbok was deeply horrified  at being given affection by Cathy, and his STR decreases by 2 as a result, back down to Base!

Hey, Cathy's a girl! You wouldn't know it from the way they act, but that makes it all the more surprisingly/scary!

The venomous viper opinion is inclined towards 'frightening', for he soon started regurgitating the large quantities of dirt he stored in his body and blasted them at the dire doctor in a desperate attempt to take them down before they did anything unseemly!

Mud Shot
(6)(*3)(2)(4)(2) Hit!
(2)(4)(2)(2)(3) Cathy takes 1 Damage; 11/13 HP, - 1 Pain!
Effect: (2)(*6)(3) Ack, it got in her eyes! - 1 Accuracy!

As the mud splashes almost harmlessly off her, the masked medic clears her eyes the best she could and nodded her head, satisfied with the results of her reverse psychology therapy threatment thus far. Result may very very very, but they usually are scary scary scary! She then clasps her hands together, concentrating deeply to try and recompose herself and numb some the physical weakness she's experience by mentally blocking it off!

Calm Mind
(2)(5)(5)(5)(6)(4) (1)(1)
Cathy's STR and Defense Increase by 1; Net STR and Defense at - 1 now!

Mud Shot 2
(1)(1)(5)(6) Still a Hit!
(3)(3)(4)(2) Cathy takes 1 Damage; 10/13 HP!

Despite feeling slightly better, the questionable quack knew she wasn't going to be dealing all that much Damage to the snake through conventional means (*7 VIT vs *2 STR is a hard wall to surmount), so instead she tries for a more round about method of wearing him down. She does so by first coughing into her fist, before she lets out a loud warbling, beseeching cry!

(5)(3)(3)(2)(2)(5) (2) ......and out from every nook and cranny a swarm of little bugs scurries out and begins to pester and swamp Mega Arbok, whose's looking both irritated again and very harried! Mr. Mime (Who's been watching quietly from the sidelines/a ways away) frowns sharply as he spots all the critters, before shooting you an apologetic look. "So sorry about.....this, Mr. Arendse, but I thought the AV had exterminated all these vermin insects. It appears they've built up an immunity to the insecticide, or have gotten more clever at hiding from the cleaner. I'll rectify this issue ASAP, so again, please forgive our lapse here....."

Infestation!
Damage: STR (*2) + 1 - Vitality (*7) = 1D6 Damage
(6) Arbok takes 1 Damage and is Blocked! 7/16 HP!

Mud Shot 3
(2)(6)(2) Hit!
(3)(1)(3)(2) No Damage!

Again unmolested by the mud, Cathy lets out a giggle of delight before she waltz right up, pulls Mega Arbok down somehow, and gives his main mouth a nice big old:

Draining Kiss!
(4)(4)(1)(3)(3)(4) Hits!
Damage: 1D6 Damage
(4) Mega Arbok takes 1 Damage; 6/16 HP
Cathy recovers 1 HP; 11/13 HP!

The hissing hydra reels back in shock, disgust, and pure horror at forcibly being french kissed by the dire doctor, but he's soon pulled back down again for another:

Draining Kiss 2!
(1)(2)(4)(4)(4)(5) Hits! Poor Arbok....
(4) Mega Arbok takes 1 Damage; 5/16 HP!

Cathy recovers 1 HP, and enjoyed herself thoroughly too! 11/12 HP, No Pain!

Cathy fully recovers her HP with her PBS!

Infestation: (5)(5) Mega Arbok takes 2 Damage; 3/16 HP!

All Field Move Counts down to 1; Disable down to 2; Block down 3

Reiner vs Taylor Round 9!

By this point, a humorous yet dastardly routine has been established by Cathy and Mega Arbok: the later tries to frantically shake off the former and repeatedly vomits gooey dirt on them to dissaude them from kissing him, oh Dragon Gods no, while the former persists with her forceful affections and is seemingly spurred on by the later's resistance!

Mud Shot 1
(3)(2)(6)(2)(*6)(4) Hits!
(3)(2)(*4)(1) Cathy takes 1 Damage; 12/13 HP. Those snake eyes.....

Draining Kissu~ 1 !
(5)(3)(1)(1)(6)(5) (6)(4)(6) Critical Smooch! Still only one Damage, though, thankfully.
(2) No Damage too, double thankfully!

Mud Shot 2
(2)(2)(5)(1)(2) Hits!
(1)(6)(4)(2) Cathy takes 2 Damage; 10/13 HP, - 1 Pain!

Draining Kissu~ 2!
(5)(4)(2)(1)(1) (1)(5) Hits!
(1) No Damage!

Mud Shot 3
(5)(1)(2)(3) Hits!
(4)(1)(1)(4) Cathy takes 1 Damage; 9/13 HP!

Draining Kissu~ 3!
(3)(5)(5)(2)(4)(1) Hit!
(3) No Damage!

Mud Shot 4
(3)(6)(2) Hit!
(6)(6)(2)(4) Cathy takes 3 Damage; 6/13 HP, - 2 Pain!

Draining Kissu~ 4!
(4)(5)(2)(2)
(6) Mega Arbok takes 1 Damage; 2/16 HP!
Cathy recovers 1 HP; 7/13 HP, - 1 Pain!

Draining Kissu~ 5!
(4)(5)(6)(3) Hits!
(5) Mega Arboks takes 1 Damage; 1/16 HP, - 3 Pain!!!
Cathy recovers 1 HP; 8/12 HP, No Pain!

Cathy recovers 2 HP from her PBS; 10/12 HP!

Infestation: (2)(2) No Damage!

Light Screen, Reflect, and Misty Terrain fade away! Disable count drops to 1; Block count decreases to 2.

Reiner Vs Taylor Round 10!!

With all her protection now gone, Mega Arbok siezes the opportunity with great motivation, all his maws coated in frost once more as they poise to return all the sugar he's been given as Painfully as possible.

Ice Fang 1!
(2)(5)(3)(3)(5)(5)(5) Hits!!
(4)(2)(3)(4) Cathy takes 2 Damage; 6/13 HP, - 2 Pain!
Freeze: (4)(5) Nope
Flinch: (2)(3)(4)(*2) Also Nope....

Undaunted by her wards finally dissipating, she continues to try and smooch into placidity, as he's down on the ropes and that means she's not going to let up now!

Draining Kissu~ 1!
(2)(3)(3)(1)(2)(6) (6)(3) Hits! Will this be the end of Arbok?!
(6) With a forceful shove, Cathy pins Mega Arbok to the ground and sucks away the last of his vim and vigor before pulling away, looking content as Felicia with a bowl of milk as she gazed down on the snake with a smile, who promptly de-transforms and now looked all shriveled up like his discarded skins. He's been knocked out stone cold, by a woman's vampiric charm.....
Oh, and Cathy recovers 1 HP; 7/13 HP, - 1 Pain. That too!

In contrast to her previous behavior up until this point, the quirky quack crouches down to fully inspect Arbok to ascertain and fully confirm he's Fainted, and after doing so she closes her eyes and gives herself a proud nod. A job job job, well done on the mob mob mob!

She then happily proceed to use the rest of the Round to renew her wards, as well swiping her hand out in sudden motions here and there, all the while warbling and jaunty tune!

Misty Terrain
(6)(1)(6)(6)(1)(3) (4)(3)(2)
Misty Terrain renewed!

Reflect
(6)(5)(3)(4)(3)(6) (1)(1)
Reflect renewed!

Light Screen
(6)(1)(1)(1)(4)(6) (5)
Light Screen renewed!

Toxic Spikes
(1)(6)(1)(5)(5)(1)
Toxic Spikes are scattered throughout your side of the field!

Cathy recovers 2 HP from her PBS; 9/13 HP!

All the bugs Blocking Arbok quickly retreat and hide back whence they came, leaving Mr. Mime yet again frowning and apologetic.

Taylor.......well, she has the biggest shit eating grin on her face that she invariably trying to hide, due to the fact she was using her hand to restrain her laughter at such an upset victory!

"'Muscle our way through,' eh? Well, you sure tried your darnest to do that, but it appears my doc has diagnosed your snake Fainted instead. Guess there was.....pffft......no escaping her treatment for him, pffft heh heh heh!"

.....Honestly, you don't what's more humiliating: Taylor throwing your words right back into your face while chortling over what happened, or the fact that your tanky Mega Arbok somehow had the rug pulled out from under him by a relatively weak doctor Pokemon, whom you didn't even know its species. And whom, despite all the abuse she's suffered, looks almost perfectly fine from fiercely tussling with a fricken giant hissing monster of a snake.

One's things for certain, though: the Doc certainly brought it on, alright.

Current Status:

Cathy: 9/13 HP, Net - 1 STR and Defense (Acid Spray and Screech Debuff - Calm Mind Buff), Out of Heal Pulse/Anti Heal Pulses, - 1 Pain
Arbok: Fainted, and in need of lots of comfort and support after the trauma it experience in this battle. However, his Loyalty towards you actually increases to 6, as he now fully understands and deeply sympathizes with the burdens/woes you have due to all the women in your life, and through that connection your bond deepens beyond the norm..... (Don't worry about him loving Reiner, though; Its more or a really good friendship at this point; You can also sorta understand him now without a translator, so yay?)

He also gains a whopping + 3 Luck from me personally, as he both deserves and needs it after all that. Not much of a consolation prize, but it's something. By Arceas.......what is up with Arbok.

Count for Everything is 3.

Reiner vs Taylor Round 11.....let's just hope that turns out better than the last string of them.

Reiner just face palms.  "...well, it's good to see you're still as energetic as alway...ya know, though, I was really gunning for Arbok to win this one because that's the third or fourth battle in a row that he's lost this week...*sigh*...honestly, he seems to be the most unlucky one here...first all those Psychic types he was having trouble with, then all the bugs, then the Dragons, then that Tsareena with its somehow stupidly effective Stomps...it's been a bad week for Arbok...can ya blame me for wanting to cheer him on a little when it looked like he had the advantage?"

He recalls the snake and looks over at the little green birdie.  "...ya doing okay over there, lil' one?"  Given he'd just used a giant, really angry snake, that might have been rather scary for her.  The good news, however, is that Arbok was 100% not focused on the pokemon watching the battle, so maybe it's fine.

Maybe.  I hope so, anyways...

In any case, Reiner will reassure Hope that she doesn't have to worry about Arbok being a predator that might eat her either and that he would protect her from Arbok if need be...or maybe given how clumsy Arbok's battle was, maybe Hope thinks she could actually take him herself if she had to.  Either way, Hope shouldn't have to be scared.

------------------------

So, once that's dealt with, moving on from that humiliation that happened somehow...

Reiner holds up an Ultra Ball.  "Guess I need to pull out the big guns now.  Contrary to what you might be thinking, this one's not a Dragon.  This one was actually a gift from my boss for...added protection.  And he does not disappoint.  I might not know what kind of pokemon Cathy is...but I think Arbok's definitely shown me what type I'm dealing with.  And this is a perfect job for..."

One Ultra Ball spinning onto the field later, and a massive, 7 foot tall, armored pokemon appears on the battlefield.  The horn that adorns his helmet may be the most defining feature, but Taylor can probably also tell at a glance that the armor seems to have no easily exploitable gaps in it.  And as he's summoned, he declares that his name is...

"Rhyxemplar!"

Reiner immediately starts to follow up with orders as Taylor wonders what the heck she's looking at.  "Rhyxemplar, that doc just managed to take out Arbok.  Treat them with..."

Rhyxemplar isn't looking at Cathy, though.

He's looking at Taylor with narrowed eyes. Getting a read on her. Trying to determine something. Something about it seems...off to him, but the way she carries herself is almost like the way a...

And that's when it hits Rhyxemplar.

A moment later after that realization, his eyes narrow further at Taylor, and he yanks off his horn, pointing it challengingly at her, his polished armor gleaming in the light!  +4 Dex from an auto Rock Polish and Knightly Zealotry!  His initiative bonus is now +12!

While what he was originally saying was cut off by Rhyxemplar's dramatic gesture (which probably baffles Taylor somewhat at first), Reiner quickly follows up after the knight's issued his challenge.  "...ah.  Well, alright then...guess that means I don't have to elaborate any further.  Fast and furious, Rhyxemplar.  No need to overdo it just yet."

He complies immediately (provided Cathy doesn't forfeit)!  That doc may not be a Dragon, but if a Dragon Tamer is opposing his liege, Rhyxemplar.  Will.  Not.  Back.  Down.  And he will not give them the chance to play any tricks unless they can somehow survive this:

Gear Grind EX x5!
Acc: 9* Dex! + 5 Fgt + 2 Brawl + 1 Wide Lens - 2 Acc - 5/6/7/8/9 Actions = 10/9/8/7/6 D6
Dmg: 2 Pow + 4 Str + STAB - 2* Def + SE - Reflect = 5 D6 per hit (If  4-5 of these connect and even a 20-25 D6 damage pool total can't KO her, I'll be seriously impressed)
Eff: multi action.  Cathy can't dodge 'em all, right?  Not that she's been dodging anything anyways...

Taylor smug jollity dampens when see hears and is reminded about Arbok's.....less than stellar battle performance during the Flower Festival, and wince in sympathy.

"Omph. Yeah......snake boy has had a rough break this week. Or more like this whole week has been bending him over and breaking them over its knee, eh? *Coughs* .....Sorry about that. Hmm....tell ya what, after this match you can revive him, and I'll let him go to town on my team. Tell my partners to hold back secretly, so he can vent his frustrations and starting feeling better without be wiser. Wouldn't be the first time they've taken one on the chin to cheer up a team mate, *Expression darkens briefly* and I know how bad of a funk a Dragon, so it wouldn't be a big deal for us, partner. *Shrugs* Unless you don't want to, of course. So.....how about it?"

Wow. How.......generous of her. Usually Trainers don't offer to let another one willing trample all over them, least of all someone like her, but considering how raw of a deal Arbok's gotten, you assume she's motivated enough to do such a masochistic thing for his sake. Good.....?

Hope hops around to face you, looking at you with calmly and with concern, and lets out a sad little *chirp.....*
Yes.... Feel Bad.......For Purple Dragon Snake. He Tried So Hard To Win Over Sweet Nasty, But Got Smooched To Faint. Sweet Nasty Fought In No Good Way Too, So That Make It Extra Bad....
Huh......looks like your fears were unfounded. Seems like everyone is sympathizing with the poor reptile. Hurray?

===

The thief extraordinaire's eyes widened in alarm as she took in what appeared to be an knightly and provocative Rhyperior, but not because of its weird and archaic appearance. No, it was due to the fact that she was able to tell in an instant that A). It was agile to the extreme, and faster than HER, B). Impossibly sturdy and a formidable threat, C) Could and would trample and skewer over her entire team if he was not stopped, and D). Cathy was so so so screwed. That, and his whole attitude towards.....it just screamed 'You are my lord and master's rival, so I will do everything I can to destroy you and crush hope for victory. There will be no reprieve, and their will no mercy.'

He was a.....intimidating and thoroughly unnerving presence for her, to put it simply. Cathy wasn't faring much better either, as her eye were all bugged out and comically wide as she just listlessly stared at the metal beast, realizing with no small amount of anxiety and dread that he would be her next opponent. Oh dears, it is as she fears. She's all out of luck, all out of puck, so all's that left is fuck. Oh well, oh well.....

Still, Taylor got a grip on herself and grit her teeth as she did her best to cooly and calmly return the metal kaiju's challenge with a smirk, before redirecting her attention at you.

"Geesh, your boss sure knows how to make one heck of a mean monster, partner. I'd call it unfair for such a titan to exist, let alone sick on me, buuuuut then there's Hope, who's WAY worse than he is but we all still love her, so I guess its okay. Not for my girl Cathy, though. She's buttered and toasted. As is the rest of my team, if I can't find some way to make that Delta Rhyperior of yours bend a knee."
Huh? .....Hey! ............I Confused How To Feel About Grandmommy's Words.
She lets out a grim chuckle to punctuate her remark as she shakes her head, before she widens her stance and bears a savage grin at you.

"Still, doesn't mean we're going to give you this match. Oh, heck no. To paraphrase Dylan Thomas, 'Do not go gentle into that good night, challenges should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Do not go gentle into that good night.' Heh Heh....good words to live by, I say."

At that declaration, the dire doctor instantly perked up and fixed Rhyxemplar with a glare, and got ready to fight. Her partner was right, she would not go gently in the night. Her job was not yet done, so there was still time for fun.

"Cathy, enough tanking. Dodge most of this brute's attacks, and leave him something to remember you by."

Reiner vs Taylor Round 11!

One moment, Rhyxemplar was standing in front of you, and the next he appeared in front of Cathy, large and heavily indented balls of steel in each hand as he prepared to turn her into fairy floss. Your will would be done. Your foes would be undone

The masked medic, meanwhile, did her level best to dodge the first few blows of the lord protector's zealous assault, before standing firm and attempted to weather his last few attacks in the hopes of retaliating against him. She. would. not. go. gently!

Gear Grind EX's Damage Rolls
(1)(4)(5)(5)(1)
(5)(6)(4)(6)(2) Cathy takes 6 Damage; 3/13 HP, - 2 Pain!

The metal beast suddenly releases the questionable quack and lets out a low grunt of exertion, odd steel spheres gone as unable to keep them manifest for his assault any longer. She staggers away, her cloak now in tatters in some places and threadbare in others, and nearly collapses, but she with a great big heave of breath she straightened herself up and glared back defiantly to her bane. Was that the best you got, you sorry lot?!

'Captivate'
Accuracy: DEX + Fight + Allure - 2 Pain - 8 Action = 3D6 Dice
(3)(4)(5)
Rhyxemplar can't help but be stricken impressed by this fae creature's spirit, so much so it humbles him and lowers his STR by 2!

Her eyes then suddenly glowed, and she shot both her hands out, clenching one into a fist and pulling it towards her, while the other push further still with palm wide!

Skill Swap
(6)(1)(2)(4)
Cathy and Rhyxemplar Abilities are now Swapped for the rest of the Encounter!

With her latest deed done, the dire doctor let her arms fall back to her side, feeling thoroughly tenderized yet strangely more durable than any time in her life. What a change.....how strange.

For the ironclad dinoknight, he suddenly felt more vulnerable, and equally inexplicably know more about the healing arts than he'd ever dream of before. What? ....Oh. This sorcery again.... Just like with that insane Gardevour. Joy.

Your old partner was still grinning like Ridia, looking and feeling immensely pleased her gambit payed off.

"Gotcha. Now, I have a better chance of beating that knight than nil. With that said......Cathy is done . She's done all you could, and I don't see her being able to keep going toe to toe with Delta Rhyperior. *Looks over them* You her that, doc? Time for you to take a break."

The mask medic nearly tripped over herself as she slumped in relief at not having to go another round with that cold iron brute, and meandered her way off the battlefield to a cushioned mat......and promptly let herself face plant into, asleep. She had undergone an gargantuan amount of strain taking and healing off Damage, so she frankly needed some rest before she could resume her duties. God Xerneas, what tough fights.....

Taylor wastes no time sending out her next Pokemon, silent grinning as they materialized, for her next partner needed no introduction.

A sparkling purple and mighty Kingdra greeted, and you instantly knew who he was: Jeff, one of your, Weavile's, and Kingdra's old friend. My, how he has grown.

Unfortunately, the same for them, who didn't react to your presence at all save for trumpeting a battle cry, before hopping forward to confront Rhyxmeplar! You also notice that the air in the room has suddenly become exponentially more humid, causing you to start get uncomfortably hot and your protector to grimace and scowl. Damp Triggered.

Jeff's Initiative: (1) Going second by a long shot.

"...well, Arbok HAS needed a proper way to vent his frustrations this whole week...not sure if we have time, though...hmmm...I'll think about it.  If we do that, though, I don't expect he'd let up on Cathy.  At all.  He'd want to make sure it's a slow, painful experience for her.  Eye for an eye, and all that."

-----------------------

Moving the focus back to the battle, though...

When Jeff comes out, Rhyxemplar moves the primary focus of his challenging gaze from Taylor to the sea dragon!  Aha!  He knew it!  She is a Dragon Tamer after all!

And due to that sorceress's diabolical tricks, there's only one way he thinks he'll be slaying this Dragon...

"...so, I should probably elaborate a little on Rhyxemplar's behavior...nothing personal, Jeff, but..."

The attack comes before Reiner can finish said explanation, though.  Rhyxemplar.  Means.  Business.

Horn Drill
Acc: 9* + 5 + 2 + WL - 7 + 2 Single Action = 12 D6
Dmg: Instant KO

After Rhyxemplar has used the attack, Reiner manages to finish what he was saying.  "...Rhyxemplar really doesn't like Dragons.  He's fine with allied Dragons, but when they're opponents, he doesn't hold back."

Taylor didn't have anything to say back to you, so....

Reiner vs Taylor Round 12!

Before Rhyxemplar could even get his horn lance revved up, Jeff launches himself at the metal kaiju at a breakneck pace, a corona of thick water surrounding him as he surged forward!

Aqua Jet EX 1!

(*6)(3)(5)(3)(5)(4) Rhyxemplar takes 5 Damage; 7/12 HP, - 1 Pain!

Potent as the Lord of the Sea's blow was, it was nothing compared to the heavy metal beast's, who'd have been diligently powering up his next attack, his horn spinning at truly astonishing speeds as he took aim at the Dragon, and then rammed it into the their underbelly!

HORN DRILL
(1)(4)(5)(1)(5) (6)(4)(3)(3)(1) (...)
Jeff stomach horribly deforms as the drill causes it to implode inward, before he's spun around at insane speeds and launched right out of the arena and into a pile of wrecked gym equipment. Everyone hears a weak bugling noise coming from him for a few seconds afterwards as he tries to lean back up, before he falls back over unconscious.

The lord protector grimly smiles beneath his helm, and raises his lance horn up into the air in stoic triumph over the superior seahourse. The enemy Dragon has been slained, and the rouge's scheme has been unraveled. His lord and master has bee protected. His will has been done.

As for the thief extraordinare......she less that pleased at the outcome of the Round, as she glowers at you with an irritated and disappointed scowl.

".....You know, I didn't think you'd resort to Horn Drill to defeat Jeff, since I didn't think you'd stoop so low as to use an OHKO that take all the challenge out of a Fight, and throws it right into a blender. I have plenty Egg on my face now for assuming that, huh? Hilarious, isn't it. You know what's also funny? I told Jeff not to use his biggest trick against your Delta Rhyperior, as I thought it was a bit too unfair for our duel, and I wanted to give you a break after Cathy played doctor on your monsters. Heh heh......looked how that turned out for me, eh? Heh heh heh..."

She lets out a bit of bitter laughter, before she pulls out a Premier Ball, and gives you a smile that was not the least bit friendly and sent chills down your spine.

"Welp, if you're going to be like that, I guess two can play that game. If you've think you've been through the worst of my conniving and trickery, you've seen nothing yet. Kyle, give them hell. "

Your old and currently incensed partner tosses the P.B. with a vengeance, hitting the arena with a loud *BRAK!* and summoning a Klefki! At first glance he doesn't look any different per usual standards of his species, but your gut was telling you the little key chain was harboring great and arcane power. Plus, you know Taylor wouldn't send out a Pokemon weak to Rhyxemplar unless she had some nasty way to counter him, so regardless you knew that they weren't going to be a pushover.

On the bright side, this Fairy seemed perfectly pleasant and not the least bit weird or overly serious, giving his opponent and you a friendly smile and a *Jiggle!*, before bouncing forward to face the lord protector without a care in the world. Oh boy, what fun he'll have with his foe, and he hopes they have fun too! Let's have a good game, everyone!

I'd say this warrants a music change now, in that case!

The (self proclaimed) Thief Extroardinaire: Field of Hopes and Dreams Drum and Base Remix by NyxTheShield

"In my defense, I didn't teach him the move, nor did I actually tell Rhyxemplar to use Horn Drill.  There's actually not much I can do to stop Rhyxemplar once he sees an enemy Dragon, and he probably would have used it anyways even if I told him otherwise.  The way the boss raised him, he has no qualms with using the move if he feels he can get away with it.  That was before he evolved, though.  After evolving, he actually developed a bit of an aversion to using Horn Drill because it wasn't working out for him.  But as soon as he sees an actual Dragon?  *snap*  It's like a switch is flipped, and all of his qualms with attempting to use the move go out the window.  He takes his job seriously, particularly when enemy Dragons are involved."  Reiner shrugs.  "In any case, you won't be seeing any more OHKOes from my side.  I'll formally apologize to Jeff after the battle.  Interesting to see that he also picked up a move that Kingdra can't normally learn as a species, though.  Definitely looking to seeing what else he's learned later."  Even as...unfriendly as Taylor is right now, Reiner's still playing it cool.

Reiner raises an eyebrow when Taylor sounds out another Fairy.  And not only that, but one that can act as a substitute for thieves tools, too.  Interesting.  Not surprising, but interesting.  He does have to wonder where Taylor got 'em, though...

"Stand your ground, Rhyxemplar.  Watch that pokemon carefully.  No Lethal damage."

For his part, Rhyxemplar just brandishes his horn, ready to give this Steel/Fairy type what for!  He's not out of this fight yet!

Drill Run x5!
Acc: 16 + 1 WL - 1 Acc - 1 Pain - 5/6/7/8/9 Actions = 10/9/8/7/6 D6
Dmg: 3 Pow + 2* Str + STAB - 3 Def? + SE = 3 D6 + 1 Damage
Eff: High crit!

However, that's only his base set of actions, as Rhyxemplar's craftier than just spamming Drill Run ever since that incident with Metagross earlier this week.
- If that Klefki uses Magnet Rise, he'll swap his uses of Drill Run for Iron Tail, ending with a Ball Bearing Blaster on action 4/5! (depending on if he thinks he can get off a fifth damaging action off or not)
- If Klefki uses Torment, he'll alternate between Drill Run and Iron Tail, ending with a BBB on action 4/5! (same conditions)
- And if Klefki uses both Magnet Rise and Torment, the action order will swap to the following as appropriate:

Let's see how Kyle intends to survive through this barrage of drilling and slamming...none of these moves can be Imprisoned by Klefki, and Rhyxemplar isn't all that worried about not being able to have at least a chance of hitting these keys, and standard Klefki don't have a lot to hit Steel types with other than Astonish, Foul Play, and Thief, so you can definitely call me and Reiner curious.

Taylor scoffs at you, not looking the least bit impressed or mollified, giving you a glare so deadpan you could fry an omelet on it.

"Don't try selling me that crap, partner, 'cause I ain't buying none of it. You could have told your brute not to use it, and I'd bet he'd listen to you, if his servile and zealous attitude is any indication. While we may be crooks using every advantage we can get, we are supposed have a friendly duel, not a no holds bar beatdown. And using or letting Horn Drill or any other OHKO is not and never a friendly Move to whip out and chunk a person's Pokemon.  So zip it and cram it with the excuses, for I'm not in the mood for them right now."

Yeouch. She's pretty Krabby right now, but who wouldn't be seeing their Pokemon instantly taken out, with no chance of recourse?

She doesn't say anything else to you for now, but does bark out her orders to Kyle, smile back in place and dripping with viciousness.

"Kyle? Float, then Total Lockdown on that Delta Rhyperior. Screw him up, down, over, and through. I want them so blighted, not even Cathy couldn't fix them without a day's worth of care.

The key bearer looked startled by his master's orders, his many keys rattling their shock at that command, given how costly and drastic was, but never the less they regained their calm and gave her a cutely serious nod, before turning back to Rhyxemplar. Sorry friend, but what his master says, goes.

Before the metal kaiju could react, the thief's tool crackled with energy!

Magnet Rise

The lord protector, anticipating such trickery, change his plan of action, spinning around to nail the key chain with his great big:

A loud racket was generated as the fae keybearer was sent flying back, looking severely rattled for the heavy metal behemoth's clubbing. Never the less they sprang back forward with pep in their bounce, smilingly widely at them.....

....before his eyes lite up with Power.

FAIRY LOCK EX

(2)(2)(5)(5)(6) (5)(4)(*6)
In an instant, a MASSIVE pink glowing star shaped magical seal appear in front of Rhyxemplar, before it embraced him, scorching and binding into his armor that causes him to cry out in shock. Rhyxemplar is Blocked. His Steel type and all his Steel types Moves are Locked Away and Unavailable for Four Rounds. He will be treated as a Pure Ground type in terms of Defenses and Offenses.

At that moment, all his armor lost its Steel luster and turned a faded grey, and he staggered and fell to one knee, bracing himself off the ground with one arm. He was panting and sweating, his eyes shrunken inward as he tried to pull himself together after such a powerful Move. He....he felt so weak and vulnerable, and he knew an integral part of him had been denied to him. W-Wh.....what sort of sorcery was this

Across the arena, Taylor wildly swayed and for a moment collapsed into a heap on the group, but she let out a *Growl* and got to her feet, look and feeling haggered and utterly terrible.

"Not......going.......to........falter. Must.......stay........strong!"

You could hear her mumble this to herself in a wispy yet guttural tone, weak but still containing considerable amount of guts.

Yikes. That Move was fierce-some, but it had one heck of a drawback.

Since all his Steel type Moves have been Locked Away/Unavailable, Rhyxemplar can not do any more Actions this Round.

Kyle himself seemed to agreed with the above sentiment, as he looked back worriedly at his master, before slowly turning back to his foe with solemn determination. His master was okay, and she gave him orders, so he must carry them out.

What followed was a series of Actions that seemed to heap more salt on the metal kaiju's wounds.

Switcheroo

Rhyxemplar's Defense decreases by 2!

Torment
(3)(3)(5)(3)(5)(3)
Rhyxemplar can not use any of the same Moves he used in the last Round.

Rhyxemplar loses 2 HP from 'his' Pitch Black Sludge; 5/12 HP, - 2 Pain!

With that chaste and apologetic kiss, the Round concludes without fanfare, with Kyle looking spiffy, Rhyxemplar looking like hell, and Taylor looking like she went out on a bender for four nights without sleep. The later still had enough energy to give you a weak smirk, before she started wheezing.

"Heh.......Heh.......Heh.........How.......does........it.........feel..........having..........an......unfair........Move........used.........on.........your..........Pokemon...........partner. .....Nasty stuff, that Fairy Lock EX is. Nasty stuff...

Current Status:

Kyle: 6/7 HP, Magnet Rise Buff, Holding Wide Lens
Rhyxemplar: 3/13 HP, - 2 STR and Defense, Steel type and Steel type Moves Locked Away/Unavaliable (For 3 More Rounds), Holding Pitch Black Sludge, - 2 Pain, Has Healer for his Ability.
