Great! Everyone seems pumped for the Safari Cup! It's traditional to see a lot of hard hitters and fast action. Plus, usually you can expect a few rampages and disqualifications and hilarious disobedience! Especially in the early rounds. The later rounds are winnowed down to the best trainers of the best.


Heart, you will be facing Bug Catcher Harvey - but he promises he doesn't exclusively use bugs.

Heart nod in agreement. He grab both of his Safari Pokeballs and say a few words. "Hmm, even so, maybe we could begin with something simple I guess. Kanghaskan go!" Heart then bring the Old Kanghaskan to the battlefield. Since Heart have zero idea what the Bug Catcher mean, better have a bulky Pokemon to take care of whatever this guy have store.

He's got a Pikachu - not the Delta version.

Just please, if you disobey my orders and you use Lethal moves like Rampage or Crunch, restraint yourself of any Lethal Damage. Avoid that as much possible."

Since Heart presume Kanghaskan might still mad (and because Dragonstrike mentioned maybe a move she might want to use it to perhaps avoid disobey check) Heart decide to send a different of order. "Kangaskan! If you understand what I mean, use Outraged! 5x! But restrain yourself of any Lethal Damage! No killing on my watch! Do you understand?" Heart was hoping maybe Kangas would instead Kangas disobey him and instead of use Outraged she use Comet Punch. A some kind of psychologic reverse sheganingans. But if she indeed use Outraged, at least she need to restrain herself from Lethal Damage.

Nice.  I noticed that Tangela was listed as only having -1 Pain, though, despite being in -2 Pain range after Uproar.  If that extra Pain wasn't accounted for, then Ancient Power would have missed, and Doduo would have only been at -2 Pain at the end of the battle.  Would that make a difference?

If Doduo B still needs a little time to be healed, though, we'll just swap Doduo B for Doduo C (keeping the hold item the same) and keep going. If Doduo B can be fully healed before the next battle, though, we'll keep her in there.

And Nathan's first pokemon for the Aroma Lady is going to be...

Delta Parasect!  It's probably going to freak the Aroma Lady out a little, to be honest...particularly if it smells weird...

Meanwhile, Gallade's watching Nathan's battles with a lot of interest, obviously.  Just like with Shiva, the crowd's enthusiasm is almost infectious for him.  He's still very stoic despite it, though, a stark contrast from whenever he was in excited crowds previously while he was still a Kirlia.  When Nathan sweeps that Ace Trainer with a single Doduo, he simply nods approvingly, as he has total confidence that Nathan will do well here.

That, and he kinda already knew that would happen, too.

Not sure how closely Belle and Tramp are watching Nathan's battles, if anything else might be distracting Gallade, or if Angela has noticed Nathan and/or Gallade and taken an interest in the young trainer yet, but plenty could still happen under those categories since the tournament has only just started!

Wow, she's speedy.  Even with a (2), it's still 50/50 on whether she actually will outspeed, though, and Paralysis would give Nathan the advantage again...

Well then, let's see if Aroma Lady Beatrice figures out what type D-Parasect is, or if she ends up using Hypnosis on a Grass type (since D-Parasect doesn't look very 'grassy') or a Normal move on a Ghost type (Barrage, Stomp, and Egg Bomb have their benefits too!).

As for Nathan's orders...

"Parasect, if you could please slow that Exeggutor down and attempt to wear it down quickly with your poisonous claws, that'd be great.  Or you could try to outlast it or make it go away, I suppose.  Just don't attempt to put it to Sleep or use Leech Seed since it's immune to both, alright?  This isn't a foe you'll be able to slowly wear down easily, and they might be packing some powerful attacks."

Nathan probably wouldn't complain if D-Parasect decided to use Roar or Draining Kiss, though, since they both have beneficial effects.  Poisoning Exeggutor and using Draining Kiss to stay relatively healthy and attempting to outlast the palm tree wouldn't be so bad either. Shadow Claw wouldn't even be that bad a choice since Exeggutor is a Psychic type and the move is still a strong, high crit attack.  Using Delta Parasect is a risk since (s)he only has 1 Loyalty versus 3 Disobedience, but I hope that it pays off, because I definitely want to test run this pokemon in the cup! Hopefully Delta Parasect wants to win this fight as well and heeds at least some of Nathan's advice!
