[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
*One Last Flashback*

Nathan just sighs again in response to Terra.  He doesn't have any more to say in the current moment.  He doesn't necessarily have a problem with understanding wanting to protect everyone, or wanting to get stronger so you can possibly compete with a Legend...it's mostly other points he's trying to stress...

*Flashback End*

------------------------------------

*Back to the present!*

Now that Nathan has a little more cash on hand, it's probably about time that he made a return trip to the Shelter for Disobedient Pokemon.  Both to check on Pyroar and to inquire about Sceptile. It could be a good opportunity to show Director North how far Charizard has come as well!

Dragalge sells right away for that price.

Vileplume are mostly UNpopular here in the land of the Sunstone, but a few people do want them as novelties. So it was harder to find a trader, but the price went up. You can get $2500 each.

Elanor is a good town for finding a Pokedoll collector. There's a poster on the Pokemon Center's bulletin board asking if anyone wants to trade Pokedolls - just come see Pokemaniac Stevedore in the town square anytime from 10 to 2.

XP moves can be tutored by these guys.

Lapis and Mawile can't learn Frost Breath since they have tiny delicate mouths, but the rest can.

Sid teaches Ice Shard to Primal Glaceon by having it skate around trying to hit him on the move.

The newborn Fairies will accept marshmallows if their momma looks like it's OK.

Foreman Fortescue is a bald, intimidating man in his own right. He doesn't look too impressed with Cottonee and Gloom "...though, being Grass types, yeah that's good..."

He's a lot more impressed with Primal Glaceon, who looks like he could handle darn near anything. Bulky, fluffy, and with giant snowshoe paws... yeah that's perfect in his opinion.

"Alright. Here's the deal, take it or leave it. If you find a Sunstone, you keep it and that's your payment, plus you get a lunchpail meal made by Cookie. Otherwise you get paid $2500. If anyone on your watch gets hurt, you're fired. You need to bring six Pokemon with you. Just wipe out any Pokemon that looks the least bit aggressive. Don't beat around the bush. Here's your mining helmet, which you can keep, and a Potion."

You hop into a strange little buggy and rumble down the ramp into the pit mine with a group of six miners. You stop and they lead you into a side tunnel.

"Need someone to wipe out this stupid Sudowoodo that's blocking the path. The thing loves Sunstones even though he's not a real Grass-type. Get him, Shiva!"

The miners like Shiva more than the sullen Terra, even though Terra is more akin to them in personality.

The battlefield glitters with shiny ore! Everywhere you look, shinies.

Pyroar is very very slow to improve. There's a Shelter worker in there now, petting him and calling him a big ol' softie, but he still won't let the other disobedient Shelter Pokemon near him. North says they have been introducing him to Pokemon without any Disobedience at all and he likes that better.

Like Togepi, Sceptile is also ready to be adopted today. He's not kept here, he's kept in a League quarters, but he can be brought here if there's serious interest.

Introducing Pyroar to Obedient pokemon sounds like a the way to go, yeah.  And in that line of thinking, there's something I'd like to try: reintroducing Charizard to Pyroar.  Pyroar probably knows him from when he was still a Disobedient Charmeleon, so maybe the success story will help.

And yep, there's serious interest in adopting that Sceptile.  Nathan just needs to meet the lizard properly first.

Hm....the Vileplume's price are not high as I expected them too, but I'll still sell them all! Terra makes a total of $19500 Poke from selling Pokemon, cha-ching!

Sweet! Guess Anubi learns Extreme Speed too! Now he too can reach LUDICROUS SPEEDS like Nathan's Pokemon!

Ah drat, I was hoping that a pair could learn FB, but oh well. At least that saves me some Poke! In that case, I'll teach Melly, Edmundi, Posei, and Seismitoad FB for a total of $7000 Poke then! Pricey, but now all his partners that needed coverage have it now, which is especially good for the Electric Fenrir and the swamp toad!

(...)

Dense as he could be, Terra could easily tell when a person had a less than favorable opinion of another (Mostly from ample experience on being the receiving end of said looks), and steps forward by Shiva's side with a stern frown on his face, summoning his Shiny Diggersby and crossing his arms. He doesn't say anything to the man, but the messages he's sending should be clear: Don't underestimate his friend, and if Shiva and her Pokemon are not tough enough in his opinion, then he and his own will more than make up for it.

(No Intimidation is being made, just want to comment on it is all!)

Regarding the deal itself, that gets a simple nod from him, followed by a quick question: "If we find anything other than Sun Stone, what do we do with it? Keep it, or give it up?" Afterwards, he quickly pockets the Potion, and puts the miner's hat on after a little difficulty. He was not used to wearing headgear, but if the foreman was giving it to them, it must be a good idea to put it on.

In the mines proper and up against Sudowoodo, he simply motions for his lucky lagomorph to go forth and conquer, to which they happily comply, spring forward to confront the false plant while making boxing motions with their ears! Time to undermine this fellow!

(Ready to begin when you are!)

It's very okay from Shiva's side, she'd even encourage them to accepts the sweets.

Oh... To say that Shiva was not a tad bit....she's not that sure how to call that feeling, 'intimidated' is too strong. 'Awed' leads into the wrong direction. Maybe 'cowed'? ...Yes, that matches it! She's trying hard to not figuratively shrink in size and keep stoic eye contact with him, she makes a mental note of better not try anything that provides even the slightest chance to make him mad, yikes. >o<

She listens to the deal with attention and then salutes confidently. "Good deal, Mr. Fortescue! Consider the spoken contract signed with my name. I've got six capable Pokemon with me already that are eager to deal with anything that hinders our work, please just tell me which ones you need to be wiped out and we'll get to it!!" She puts the mining helmet on and packs the Potion away. Yay for even more medicine.

As soon as he's out of earshot, Shiva discreetly turns towards Terra, a sly smile on her face. "Hey, psst, Terra, listen... If we could collect 2 exemplars of Sunstones, that's perfect for me, you see? More isn't really needed, so once we've found that amount let's try to take cash or something different as payment, alright? Hehe..." Primal Glaceon also receives some appreciating strokes over his icy head for 'helping' Shiva being hired. "Well done, dear one. Oh no, don't give me that confused look, you DID convince him to let me join on the trip to the mines!~"

Shiva can relatively easily pick up that miners....eh, like her? She's a bit thrown off-track by that and very unsure whether this is a good thing or not, but she'll just take it as a positive and helpful thing for now. Maybe the miners don't see female company all that often, if there are any attempts or advances the natural fae enthusiast will show them her intimidating and prickly trait beneath the cute and delicate appearance. That, and she's taken and loyal.

It only needed the word of Foreman Fortescue and Shiva leaps very boldly into action!! Her movements never loose their graceful hint though. "Understood, I'll take care of that Sudowoodo and teach it to not get into our way ever again! Come on, Gloom, that'll be your first real battle under my care, let us try out some of the 'skills' you've acquired yesterday night...! Oh, Glaceon, you of course can stay out, please keep yourself ready to jump in and continue the fight shall Gloom get into trouble. Nononono, stay concentrated, don't try to let those BEAUTIFUL glittering ore distract you, we will investigate it afterwards, promise!" Shiva herself is enraptured~ by this shiny surrounding actually, but her will is stronger today. After all, sunstones are at stake, aaaahhhhh!!

Mechanics:
Ready to start the battle with Terra against Sudowoodo with Gloom as my choice! Primal Glaceon stays out but doesn't actively participate in the fight for now.

"I just got off the phone with the League. Sceptile will show up in our PC in a bit."

Pyroar won't go near Charizard. He knows that species too well, and Charizard's appearance is scary.

"Everything in this area is the property of Mergoba Sunshine Mineral Rights, Inc, so you'll have to give up anything you find. But maybe we can work out a deal for the item. It all depends."

Everyone looks comfortable and admiring around Diggersby, and you see several (non-shiny) down below. The other predominate Pokemon is Machop.

There are a few female miners and plenty of female Pokemon.

Gloom: (3) +4 Dex + 3 survival = 10
Diggersby: (3) + 7 = 10
Sudowood: (1) + 3 + 3 = 7

The forman's replay gets another nods from the steely brawler, followed by one last question: "Does that include Pokemon, if we catch them?" Have to cover all the bases in a business transaction, you know!

During the battle proper, Terra's orders are simple, quick and straight to the point.

"Diggersby, Hammer Arm Sudowoodo. Hard. Do not stop, until it is Fainted."

The burrowing bunny is naturally eager to follow through with them, hopping towards the petrified Pokemon with both ears cocked backwards and ready to unleash some pummeling punches with them! He was always happy to dispose of vexsome Rock types, and the admiration from the 'audience' just makes the job all the more fun and rewarding!

Orders: Four Hammer Arms a Round for Shiny Diggersby, as between it and Gloom, it really doesn't need to set up to reduce the faux sapling into rumble. Who will catch it or not can be decided later, if at all! Just smash smash smash!

Move

Hammer Arm
Accuracy: 12D6 Base Dice - 1 Accuracy - 4/5/6/7 Actions = 7/6/5/4D6 Dice
Damage: STR (5) + 4 + SE = 9D6 + 1 Base Damage
Effect: Lower User's DEX by 1 after first use, which would makes its latter Accu Rolls *5/*4/*3D6 Dice
