[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(04-15-2019, 07:40 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: .....When he gets a text from Nathan that neatly reminds him of their arrangement, and their willingness to finally initiate it! Immediately Terra texts them back with a simple 'Okay. Meet you there.' , and then headed over to the Pokemon Center to meet up with the boy. He had his arms crossed and himself stoically composed, but their was faints hints of anticipation and excitement lurking in his features and eyes as he regarded his friend in a serious but somehow amiable manner.

"It is time for our battle, Nathan? Are you ready?"

A simple reaffirmatory question, but the rugged wanderer's tone was ever so slightly laced with hope and eagerness.

"...well, I think I am.  Still not sure if one of my pokemon is, though (Terra knows the one Nathan's talking about).  I haven't talked to them about it yet, so...yeah, need to do that before we start...let's go find a battlefield outside of town."

It makes sense that her abilities would interact with the MSC in basically all electronics. Keep her Pokeball'd near any PCs, please! When you get back, maybe I could borrow her? But I think you should take her into the ruins, boss! It's definitely worth a try, but I'll warn you that amplifiers have never worked in the past. There's strange things going on down there, more than just the load of rock they call a ceiling."

"Maybe we can arrange something, but she is only a baby, even though she already knows how to use Thunder for some reason.  No, I'm not joking.  A baby, currently 4 inch tall electric mouse pokemon can use one of the most Lethal moves a Pokemon possibly could and has an obscene amount of electrical strength to back it up.  I'm very, very glad that she didn't decide to try shocking my pokemon or me for fun, because that would have totally hurt.  A lot.  Even if her amplification abilities don't work, she'd at least be a strong fighter.  I did discover that giving her some MSC to hold can boost her abilities as if she was holding a Magnet.  But yeah, definitely going to keep her in her pokeball around sensitive electronics.  The fact that my pokedex was registering entries for wild pokemon I hadn't even caught yet was kinda weird in and of itself.  Honestly, I was wondering if her abilities might be or could be made strong enough to make the Scimitars' gauntlets start malfunctioning..."

"...yeah, a lot going on in that place.  More stuff than I'd care to list, to be honest...the vines and the crown wearing Claydol were more than enough of an indicator of that by themselves...I'm hoping we can find what we need in there quickly and then get the heck out of there, but I just have this feeling that we're going to be running into a lot more than we might be expecting...if we find my dad in there, though, he could probably help us..."

"Just about any device that moves Pokemon power as data is going to use MSC, so it might work! But boss, you must be careful about your expectations going into that place. Your father might not... be in the best shape."

Pyre: (2)(5)(4)(3)(4)(2) (5)(4)(3)

I can't emphasize this enough, but a pyre is a giant bonfire. It cannot be built inside.

Nathan can see the pyre through Heart's window overlooking the vacant lot behind the Pokemon Center, where Nurse Joy gave you permission to build it.

Of all places to run into one... tears well up as memories of that day, the day that he last talked with her, rush forth; "Leigh, don't do it, it was sealed away 401 years ago for a reason!" "Don't worry, Spira, I'll show that Spiritomb can be tamed!", as the memories flood forward, he remembers her smile, how happy she always was; That's what drew me to you, how you always seemed happy, no matter what happened, even though I knew that we wouldn't be allowed to be together as long as we were co-workers, feelings for you had arisen, thankfully, they were mutual. "When I mentioned the Spiritomb attack, Howl said to be careful in the ruins, does that possibly mean Spiritomb also make their homes in those ruins as well?" Spira consults the Pokedex to see what it says about Spiritomb, mainly, their habitat in Creshire.

All Spiritomb known in Creshire use a keystone of King Sarimanok's palace, or a shard of a gravestone from the Barrow Downs, as the base of their forms. The spirits making up Spiritomb are usually ancient warriors, either Mamo tribesmen, Sarimanok's soldiers, or the League members who finally brought him down. This makes most Spiritomb around 700 years old.

These keystones can hold varying numbers of spirits, with plateaus at certain numbers such as the famous 108. It's very easy to go from 107 to 108 spirits, but it's really hard to reach 109. Then it's easy to get 110 and so on until the next plateau. Each plateau gives the Spiritomb a new burst of power.

Any Spiritomb is very rare due to the low population of the world at the time - pretty hard to get 108 spirits. Of the handful that's been known throughout history, all were originally found in the Skull Ruins, though a few have been sealed away in other places.

Clawitzer learns Aqua Jet, an impressive feat for such a bulky Pokemon.

Metang learns Bullet Punch, floating after Sid happily now that it knows some real moves.

"This HM is shared between researchers. We make sure to always pass it along to someone who can make use of it and take good care of it. I think it was Bo who originally found it somewhere."

Minicorn straps into the Hidden Machine and learns Flash! I'm sure if there was a Flash machine in Uranium, Minicorn could learn it.

"The Ruins contain Ghost and Psychic Pokemon, so your butterwolfly will do very well. Bring Awakenings and have them handy at all times. And don't forget that a Pokemon who cannot be killed might still be captured. Those two types can certainly beguile even the strongest trainer, but I'm not sure to prep for them. The legendary Helm, hidden somewhere in the Ruins, was said to block such intrusions."

With that done Heart make a quick stop in the Pokemon Center to make rearange in his party. He also send a message to Spira/@Mikaruge108:

Are you ready? My party is ready to battle against ya. When you ready just meet me.

Heart then wait him outside of the Pokemon Center.

When Spira receives the message he sends one back saying

I'm already at the Pokemon Center. Double Battle, no fainting, only held items allowed.

Once Heart arrives, Spira greets him, and then and goes to an area better suited for battle.
