[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Oof.  Just oof.  Shiva's little group is in pretty bad shape now thanks to them getting mobbed by maybe about 16 rodents.  That was a LOT of damage...

@Spiritmon, we still have an encounter left in the day.  I don't think we've even set up any kind of camp yet, considering we're in the Skull Ruins.  Something like that is going to take some careful preparation, just like when we were in the swamp, so it's not likely to be something that can be easily assumed to have been set up already. We might have an assumed meeting point once we finish investigating the area for entrances to the Kadabra Chambers (as that's the current goal), but that's probably about it for now.

And on that note...ya might want to check and see what's beyond the statue before turning around and leaving.

@Iron

Regarding my latest post in the Game Thread, I'd like to amend them partially by saying that Terra uses an Antidote on Angie prior to ROCK SMASHING the gates, if he has the time/opportunity. Bad Poison is no joke, so he'd get it treated ASAP if he could!

Gah......I'm NOT looking forward to meeting whatever 'Power' those Mismaguis serve, or facing other Pokemon that hold similar intelligence/resourcefulness that could waylay the group. Now I'm just glad that Terra took what ended up to be a relatively easy path, and spared himself a lot of pain (relatively speaking), unlike everyone else's hellish first impressions with the Skull Ruins.

Don't get me wrong, I'm having fun with it all, but if we're having THIS much trouble early on, I'm dreading what sort of fiendish disaster are in store for us deeper....

Quite frankly, Nathan's path has been relatively easy so far by comparison as well.  Sure, Charizard took enough Lethal damage to inflict -2 Pain on him, but that was all that happened.  Facing a single enemy isn't particularly challenging if you approach it with a sound strategy in mind.

Shiva and Spira have had it the roughest so far.  Large swarms of pokemon are never to be underestimated, particularly when they're large swarms of fast pokemon.

If there's anything this first set of encounters in the Ruins should teach all of us, it's to not underestimate what it throws at us. To treat everything as if it is a serious threat until proven otherwise, even if it doesn't seem to be that dangerous at first glance. Because no matter how confident you think you are that everything will be fine, bad luck and risky decisions can and will cause you more harm than good in the long run in a place like this.

Oh boy, a Pokemon that knows Sketch! That certainly is ripe for abuse and/or power gaming! Teach it Spore to be a cripplier, Shell Smash/Quiver Dance to sweep, Recovery Moves to tank, Heal Pulse/Wide Guard/Swagger/Tailwind/After You/etc.. to do team support, or even hugely powerful Moves likes OHKO, Super Fang, Earthquake, Eruptions, Nuclear Moves.....I could go on. The sky and Iron's tolerance for shenanigans is the limit when it comes to what Sketch can copy, so think carefully on what you want the rat artist to copy into its memory when you get the chance to use it (if ever)!

Welp, is everyone done with their Encounters? If they are, then its time to regroup with Terra, so he can bust those doors down with everyone backing him up!

Dear, you're forgetting that I don't enjoy powergaming at all. ^_^; No, not done with my Encounter yet either, not fully.

As long as nothing else comes up before Spira, Nathan, and Shiva reach the Barrow that Terra and Heart have reached, then yeah, we're done with the second encounter.

Biggest obstacle I can think of is that Shiva might have to navigate the darkness somehow.

Dear, I'm only bringing up what I think is helpful advice, and you know my thoughts/outlook when it comes to gaming is competitive and optimizing. If you don't want to take any of my suggestions, then I won't mind at all! Heck, its not like you're going to be using that radical rodent anytime soon (or ever, possibly), so we don't have to worry about it for awhile!

Alrightly, I can wait patiently for you and everyone else. Its not like it's something I'm unused to by this point, eh?
