[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Sooooo...they're not hostile as long as we don't disturb their little community...

...maybe they can be reasoned with after all?  Might be worth a shot.

I'm fairly certain we won't find the mushrooms as tasty as the Kadabra seem to...

Then I'd probably have a tougher/rougher time playing IRL with you then in that case, but that's neither her or there.

Welp, with that Ruin Maniac Kadabra's confirmation of our suspicions, I'm about ready to have my character to just abandon the Kadabra Chambers entirely and ask the Scimitars to put him on the lead to the Weapons, without or without the rest of the group. The only things stopping me from doing that right now is Angie being trapped there, his feelings of rather strongly obligation/dedication to uphold his duty, and just not wanting to abandon Nathan. Their's a line I'll draw with shenanigans in the Skull Ruins, and that's getting my character turned into a Kadabra and possibly mind whammied . I'd rather face a Legendary and have him get mulched instead - at least he gets a fairly epic ending that way.

Currently, I'll leave it to Shiva to negotiate with the Kadabra leader for now, but I'm going to have Terra but in and bluntly ask how to release Angie from the capture net. That's his main priority right now, and if they don't have a satisfactory answer for him, he'll take the matter entirely in his own hands. Then, after trying my damdest to rescue her, I'm getting my character the hell away from the Kadabra Chambers, no matter how OOC or jerkish it is on his part. Like I said, I draw a line at possible transformation, so fair warning everyone.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

I have a feeling the transformation process is probably rather slow, to be honest.  As long as we don't get stuck there, I think we'll be fine...

...I honestly do find it hard to believe that Terra would just outright abandon everyone, tbh...

I dont this situation at the slightest. I think it should be better if we have go straigh though the Legendary Spiritomb thingy. I dislike the puzzle sheganingas where we have to find a clue to free every pokemon. Kindas reminds me of the Seikamater event.

Heart would problably going to help Terra in free Angie, since he know very much how it is loose a companion.

'Death Mushroom' made me laugh, but calling them like that is mean towards these Kadabra. :C

I'm getting to play soft-leader led by curiosity again, yay! \(^o^)/ If you ask the Kadabra Leader something, please try to be kind while still getting your point crystalclear, alright? Maybe don't outright try to intimidate him, only if he's giving himself stubborn. He appearantly forgave Shiva her attempt to unknowingly kidnap one of them, so we should repay that with kindness ourselves It's their territory.

If that Spiritomb was close to being at the same power as a Legendary, it wouldn't have been much better.  The only natural weakness a Spiritomb has is to Fairy type moves, and that's not even guaranteed to work (depending on how strong the Plot Device is).  Fighting a Plot Deviced character is like a puzzle in and of itself in Iron's game.

Besides, we'd still be faced with this conundrum with the Kadabra even if we entered the Barrow proper instead of digging down into the Kadabra Chambers.  The Barrow and its contents were just an obstacle we had to get around or through to reach our destination, a concept that's a huge part of dungeon crawling in general. Be it traps, monsters, mazes...any number of things could impede your progress in a dungeon. And how you decide to solve the problem of getting around/through those obstacles is a big part of the gameplay. Combat isn't always the best solution.

I don't care to take that risk, really, especially given how it's been reported how weird Time works in the Chambers, and the fact that even a 'slow' transformation is terrible in of itself (Say hello to Iron's version of Pokemon - Human Hybrids, everyone!). Add to the fact that we have pretty strong evidence that humans can and have been caught/stuck in that infernal place like Angie long enough for said change, and you can began to see why I'm not eager to go any further in them.

Yeap, it would be MAJORLY OOC , but I'm willing break his character to pieces if it means preserving him the way I intend, even if it means that the group effectively loses out on him or he loses Angie, worst case scenario. If our current quest and the entire fate of Cheshire hinged on exploring the Kadabra Chambers, I'd be slightly more willing to join in on that, but since it really isn't, I'm more willing to go with Options #5 and GTFO.

We'd still be heading into the Kadabra Chambers, and who knows what would have happened in that case.

Thanks, mate!

Fine by me! Terra's going to be gruff but not rude with his request/demand, so if they choose to take offense to that, so be it. Diplomacy is nice, and I most always support it, but I want Angie back, and then I want out of the Kadabra Chambers!

I'm concerned splitting the party in any fashion would end up being way more risky, tbh.

We're in the middle of the Skull Ruins, a place that even the hardiest adventurers avoid.  Going in there alone is almost a death sentence unless you're incredibly capable.  Safety in numbers, as they say.  If we're traveling together as a single group, there's less to fear when we do end up in encounters where everyone participates (which is particularly important for facing Plot Deviced enemies, a point that Lurantis stressed)

If time does work weirdly in the Kadabra Chambers, then there's no telling how long Terra would have to wait for everyone else to resurface.  If at all.  For all we know, there could be a convenient way down to the next layer of the Skull Ruins in the Kadabra Chambers.
