[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
(06-15-2019, 09:12 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: I had a scene ready, but I in no mood to write it so all I do is throw a potion on Nagi and keep Gama in the field. Since Leftovers don't heal outside of battle (again, have mentioned that earlier) other healing methods will need to be done.

Initiatives
Gama: (2) + 9 = 11
Nagi: (2) + 9 = 11
Snover Swarm B: (1) + 8 = 9

Go ahead and send Kogeki's orders for his pokemon.  I'll be rolling the three parts of this battle separately from each other.

Hidden Power, Psywave, Nightshade and Peck from Nagi and Gunk Shot, Night Slash, Hidden Power and Quick Attack from Gama.

Edit: Attacks will be focused to the enemy with less HP.

Snover Swarm B Round 1

Gama's swimming in the lake since he's too big to stand on the shore with Kogeki and Nagi.

Much to the Snovers' surprise, Nagi is the first one to move, not the nimble Gama!  Fire rains from the sky on one of the poor snowy trees!

Hidden Power Fire 1
(5)(5)(3)(6)(3)(2)(2)
The Snover have 3 Defense and Insight
(6)(2)(1)(6)(6) Snover E takes 5 damage! 1/6 HP -3 Pain
The weather changes to Sunny! (Kogeki's battlefield only)

Gama aims to faint one of them before they can even move!

Gunk Shot 1
(4)(6)(4)(4)(1) Gama became Poison type!
(3)(5)(3)(2)(6)(4) Snover E takes 4 damage and faints!
(4)(6)(4) Snover E was Poisoned!

Snovers' turn!  They pair together and blow some snow towards their targets!  The Snover only have 2 Special, so they can only hit 2 targets at a time with their Spread moves. They're prioritizing attacking those directly involved in the combat, so Kogeki's safe from this damage for now.

Powder Snow x3 1
(6)(6)(1)(6)(2)(4)(3)
(6)(5)(3)(6)(6)(5)(5)
(6)(4)(4)(4)(6)(5)(5) Hit 3 times, crit twice
2 Spe + 2 Pow + STAB - 3 Sp Def = 2 D6
(5)(3)
(6)(1)(1)(2)
(6)(5)(1)(3)
Nagi takes 1 damage 6/7 HP
Gama takes 3 damage 5/8 HP -1 Pain
Can't be Frozen due to the bright sunlight.

Gama's turn, and he's gonna make sure another one of those Snover gets a beating in preparation for another attack!  He leaps out of the water, dashes past one of the Snover, clips the tree with a quick and straight slashing attack, then dives back into the lake!

Night Slash 2
(6)(2)(6)(5) Gama became Dark type!
(6)(3)(4)(5) Snover F takes 3 damage 3/6 HP -2 Pain

Nagi fires a sine wave shaped beam of psychic energy at one of the weakened Snover.

Psywave 2
(4)(3)(4)(3)
(5)(2) Snover F takes 1 damage 2/6 HP -2 Pain

Snovers' turn again, and now they're firing a whirlwind of leaves at their targets!

Razor Leaf x3 2
(6)(1)
(4)(2)(5)(1)
(5)(2)(3)(1) Hit 3 times
2 Str + 2 Pow + STAB - 2 = 3 D6
(6)(6)(2)
(4)(2)(1)
(4)(2)(1)
Gama takes 4 damage! 1/8 HP -3 Pain
Nagi takes 1 damage 5/7 HP -1 Pain

The Snover then rapidly throw chunks of ice afterwards before anyone can react, targeting Gama first!

Ice Shard x3 3
(5)
(6)(3)(1)
(2)(6)(2) Hit 3 times again

(4)(3)(1)
Gama takes 1 damage and faints!
(5)(2)(6)
(3)(1)(4)
Nagi takes 1 damage 4/7 HP -1 Pain

Nagi is doing his best to fight back, but he doesn't have many strong moves besides his Hidden Power.

Night Shade 3
(6)(4)
(5)(4) Snover F takes 2 damage and faints!

Peck 4
Nagi doesn't have enough dice to perform this action in Action slot 4 in the first place (8 base - 8 Act = 0), but he's going to try anyways because the situation is desperate (and also because having too few accuracy dice needs to have some kind of downside to prevent the system from being exploited without repercussion by both players and NPCs alike)
(4) Nope, that misses.

Which means that the Snover targeted by the attack dodges out of the way, and Nagi might end up falling in the lake after he hurtles past! Gonna need 3+ successes on an Athletics check for that to not happen.

Dex + Survival + Athletics: (6)(4)(3)(1)(5)(2) 3 successes.  Nagi doesn't fall in the lake this time, thankfully, avoiding damaging himself really badly with his botched physical attack. (There won't always be a chance to recover from a failed Luck Die, just so you're aware. Pushing your dice pools too low invites a larger risk of consequences, something which most trainers want to avoid when said consequences can be incredibly dangerous in the wrong situations. Like right now, for example. Fire type next to water? That can only end well if things go horribly wrong, right?)

(6) No Poison damage this Round.

Snover E is fainted and Poisoned
Snover F is fainted
Snover G and H are at 6/6 HP
3 Rounds of Sunny Weather Remain for Kogeki's battle.

As a reminder for everyone, there are no encounters on the trip back from the Lake, so quick and easy healing and safety aren't far away once these Snover are dealt with.  We're not in a dungeon at the moment, after all.

Well, Phantom's character probably doesn't know that yet, but it'll become apparent to him soon enough.  Snowpoint isn't far from the Lakefront, and is certainly visible from there after leaving the vicinity of the Lake proper.

Kogeki simple throw a potion who restored his HP back to restore 7/7 (you forgot he is holding Leftovers. Again). He thinks what to do..."Guess I have no choice then. Sneasel! Come out!"

Kogeki then summon a Sneasel, but this one seems...odd to say the least. For starter, Nagi when see the presence of Sneasel, he chitter in dislikes towards the black cat(and not because the cat is dark type).

Second, the Sneasel have almost a ghostly presence, and a feminist pose and a natural vanity.

Dragonstrike might be aware why I chose this Pokemon, so I will quiet for now. Let's just say it's not the same Sneasel Kogeki capture.

Wheeee, civilization and warm places. He may not get that this is Snopoint City automatically - yes he dwelled in several regions, but Sinnoh isn't among them. Still, there are townsigns and people to ask what this place is, so he'll still find out quickly.

Bless all deities from every region for finally being out of this miserable and freaking cold cave. He kinda wants to dislike and avoid this place now with a particular emphasis, but his curiosity what he may end up reeling inif he sinks his rod into this icy lake is hindering this. BUT, he makes a mental not of if revisiting, then he'll do so prepared.

Ugh, and now it's even beginning to hail! ( ̄ヘ ̄) Fortuna seems to hate him today. Or, maybe not completely as They at least alerted him about these vivid pine trees when he was observing the snowy landscape.

Octavia immediately took a heartfelt leap to place herself in-between these mean foe Pokemon with waving and sparkling ribbons, doesn't matter whether these aren't dragons. They wanna mess with Master, they have to get across HER first, hmmmmppppffff! The parrot perching on his head starts to flap his wings and scream out an eager 'Battlebattlebattle, lemme defeat them in under a minute, lemme deal with them, ping~' as he takes off into the air, where he proceeds to chatter and chitter with avid joy.

"You wanna mess with me, heh?", unknown trainer barks at them, "You've chosen the wrong target, you're at the wrong place at the wrong time. That may be your turf, but right now I'm NOT in the mood to play with you." He takes a moment to give every Snover a glance just as cold like the snow covering them. "Let us deal with them fast and painless then."

Init Bonus is 3 Dext + 2 Survival + 2 Alert = 7 for Mercury, and 9*for Octavia due to her featuring visible claws - usually a Sylveon would keep them retracted like a cat.

Half of the Snover are male, half are female.  This applies to all 3 groups.

If I forget/misremember something, remind me and I will correct it if necessary.  No need to be grouchy about it.  In the case of Leftovers, it's also fine to say 'Nagi's Leftovers restored 1 HP' in your next post in the game thread (and that also goes for any end of Round effect I forget).

Given the context clues, yes, I know why you chose to use Sneasel.

The Potion combined with the Leftovers fully restores Nagi's HP, but keep in mind that's the second Potion you've used on him today.

Battle B Round 2 Initiatives
Sneasel: (6) + 9 + 2 = 17
Nagi: 11
Snover Swarm B: 9

A question before we set to the next battle, how many female and male Snover is around Kogeki? Female have a white low section and male a dark one according to the Bulbapedia

Karen is shivering, not from the cold, though, "I don't wanna do this, but it seems like its bite time..."
She tosses a ball and a Mightyena comes out! "Do what ya do best, just don't take things too far this time. Keep in mind Thunder Fang might not be as effective on these."
