Terra thinks long and hard about the steep payment cost it would take to Revive a Genesect of his very own, invisibly hemming and hamming over the small details and whether it would be worth it in exchange for weakening his partners. And even if he did go through with the bargain, what would the consequences of that entail?

It was a tough decision, perhaps one of the most difficult ones he's ever made. But in the end.....

".....I accept your bargain to Revive Genesect for me. High price......but well worth it. Here are the Moves of my partners I offer in exchange.......(Insert list from Meta Thread here!)"

....he decides to go through with it. Passing up on getting a Legendary Pokemon was pure stupidity, no matter how weakened or difficult to handle it would be. At worst, he could work with it in private if necessary to better Bond with them, or just unleash them on his enemies and let the primal beast do its own thing.

At the very worst....he'd accept responsibility for it what happens, no matter what.

As for the Shiny Deal......he needs more time to think on that, and a chance to explore the lake to see if he could find it himself first. If he did, then he didn't have to accept her bargain for it!

I suppose that would work, since the Siren is encouraging you to remain nearby and rest up. There's no rush like there would be in more wild parts of the Ruins. You could spend an Encounter looking for shinies and Shiva could look for items.

D O N E
B A R G A I N
L I V E A G A I N

The arm and the various bits of Genesect, aside from the smashed drone, twitch and dance to the Siren's song. The cavern trembles and the water becomes frothy and violent. Moisture seeps into the body parts, thickening with nutrients and minerals absorbed from the roots. Lightning arcs from Syrentide's trident and strikes the Well time and time again. With a sickening lurch, the Genesect parts stumble over the Well and fall inside. The Well becomes a maelstrom of different energy types as Terra's Pokemon are siphoned. Taking their cue from Angie, they seem a little terrified, until the voice of the Siren bids them be silent. Then their terror is visible only in their eyes as they crouch there.

With a horrific squelching, a figure hauls itself from the Well. It lands on a half-submerged island and shakes the mud from its form, revealing a spindly insectoid form with half-developed spikes all over. It's a dark blue, almost black, and water continually drips from the tips of its spikes. It's only two feet tall, in stark contrast to the Genesect you scared off earlier. It looks malnourished, with a shrunken exoskeleton, like it won't weigh anything. However, it's absorbed a little water to create some bulk in critical places.

For an added bonus, a Barnacled Apricorn with specks of gold, akin to a Lure Ball lost at sea for decades, floats up to contain Genesect.

Gotcha! Genesect was caught!
1/1/3
Bug/Water
Water Absorb
5 base HP
Fell Stinger, Water Pulse, Quick Attack, Metal Claw, Screech
Genesect has a +1 Surprise in every ability, and in Brawl.
He won't gain XP like a normal Pokemon. Instead, you can think of clever ways to modify him to learn new moves, which might also change his typing and Plot Device.
Currently, his Plot Device is longevity - if he is KO'd, he'll revive with full HP after one night's rest.
If he's slain by a normal character, he'll come back to life with 1HP and lethal damage.
Other plot deviced traits, both good and bad, may manifest at the GM's unapologetic discretion.

(That....was....awesome! To quote M. Bison: YES, YES! Surprised that it has such low Disobedience, but that just makes things even better! )

Once the Bargain was struck, Terra went almost immediately went on high Alert as the entirety of Slowpoke Well trembled from the POWER the Siren Queen. Every folicle of hair on his body standing on end and a shudder wracked him briefly but strongly as she 'intoned' and began the Revival .

'.....This.......intense. Hope....I don't.....regret my choice."

As her kingdom was whipped up in a chaotic maelstorm by her Will and POWER, he was tensing and readying himself for a world of trouble, his face positively like a slab of cold hard steel for how grave and serious he was taking the Revival. Internally, he was in no way ashamed to admit that he shared in the fright of his Pokemon about the Revival process and their Energy being drained to fuel it, as well as immensely guilty that he was the very cause of their current woe. It was a necessary evil, and part and parcel of The Bargain in order for it to be even possible, but that didn't make it any less horrifying or horrible for them or him.

'....I'm sorry, my friends. Will make this up to you greatly later. I promise.....'

Then, before he knew it, it was done.

Genesect.....his Genesect.....was Revived.

Despite its diminutive size and withered appearance, Terra was in still in awe of it. For no matter what form it took, this Genesect, his Genesect was still a Legend, and lacking Shiva's super Empathy he could feel the unfathomable potential within their navy blue frame. The potential for constant improvement, evolution, and modification. The potential for became a power unrivaled by all but the most elite of beings. The potential.....the sheer potential.....for greatness.

"Arete," Terra breathed, his as he stared upon his Genesect, his Genesect.

Arete. Excellence of any kind. To live up to one's full potential. Growth and adversity personified.

That would be his Genesect's name. None other would be more fitting for them.

The sagely monk was snapped out of his awestruck daze when the mermaid queen Captured and gave him Arete in that nautical Apricorn, with him staring at it in the palm of his hand for but a moment before he turned his to her and did his best to bow to her, eyes closed and head hovering just above Angie's scaly body.

"Thank, Siren Queen, for this boon. I will forever be grateful for what you have given me."

He then looked back up to her, and asked for another boon in a much more revering tone.

"Could you make my Genesect Arete more Loyal? I do not want them to cause.....problems for my friends and allies, if that is possible."

(Willing to spend Faint Attack from Oinari [2], Fake Tears from Pixie [2], Body Slam from Posei [6], and Heavy Slam from Edmundi [Should be 5, given how heavy he is] in order for the 15 Energy necessary to raise their Loyalty from 1 -> 3 [5 Energy for 1 Point to 2 , 10 Energy for 2nd to get to 3 Loyalty. Is that acceptable?)

Syrentide sings a beguiling song, strong enough to ensnare even young Legends. She shackles Genesect to you, and teaches you the tune to control him.

Nathan watches in silence as everyone makes their bargains with Mega Syrentide (though whether Nathan knows that name atm is up for debate).  He's thinking hard about what's been said.

About what this pokemon could do.

About what it could cost.

In the end, he shakes his head.

He doesn't want to put his own pokemon through this experience.  He's got other ways to reach his goals.  They might not necessarily be better, and they're almost certainly going to be slower, but...they aren't going to alter what defines each pokemon.  Won't take away pieces of themselves.

As much as he'd like to fix his dad NOW, he just can't see himself removing pieces of what makes each individual unique.

...besides, he's also not sure his dad would be very...approving of such methods.

EDIT: It doesn't keep the thought from crossing his mind that he could possibly save Machamp with Mega Syrentide's help, though...not that it does him any good right now, given he has no idea what the Kadabra did with his dad's prized Fighting type after...

...

...he might have to ask his dad about this later...

To Terra: (@Lord Windos)

Once the stuff concerning the Genesect is done, Nathan sighs and walks up to the mountain of a man.

"...I hope you know what you're doing, Terra.  You're playing a very dangerous game, reviving a Genesect.  I'll tell you what I know of the species in more detail later.  Hopefully it will help with raising them right.  But be warned..."

Nathan looks back at the Scims, then back to Terra, and follows up with a discreet, quiet warning.

"...you're not the first one looking to create such a creature. Nor will you be the last."

Nathan backs away and leaves it at that for now.

What does Syrentide do for Kelda and Cosh (the two that Nathan would have the closest eye on), out of curiosity?

Those two both get Apricorns, which they put on their belts. Kelda's is Yellow and Cosh's is Blue. This gives them each 7 balls on their belts.

The steely brawler takes especial care to memorize and Perform said controlling/restraining tune that the siren queen taught him, as the last thing he wants is to forget the very thing that not only his partners paid yet another high price to gain, but was necessary to keep the baby Legend from creating an accidental/not so accidental disaster. Arte was still young and notably far less aggressive and strong than his genetic progenitor, but he didn't want to take any chances with them. He learned long and short ago to never underestimate what a Pokemon can possibly do, and that goes EXPONENTIALLY more when it comes to Legends and similarly mighty beings like Primals.

Once she was finished teaching him, Terra gave her another bow and offered his thanks again.

"Thank you again for your boon, Siren Queen. Have only one last thing to ask of you: do you have any.......advice, for me to care for Arete? Want to....do right by them and raise them well, and you are a wise Water type that made them, so....do you and could you give me Insight?"

After that last exchange is concluded, the rugged wanderer bids another thanks to The Wish Maker and his leave to explore her domain, and gestures/pats to Angie to lower to one of the islands so he could get off and start searching the place for some specific Shiny Pokemon he's coveted and searched for quite awhile. Before he did that, though, two things occured:

- He went around to comfort his partners after what they suffered on his account, giving them hugs and whispering to them: "I'm so, so sorry for what happened to you. I promise I will make it up to you, and that you will never have to experience that again. Please forgive me." He then returns them all but Mikey and Angie (obviously) to give them rest from the ordeal they went through. The shroombro is a robust man, and can rebound from almost anything at lightning speed, and he figures that having a Grass type would be helpful in combing the area for the Pokemon he seeks. Also, Shedinja gets sent back to the PC to make place for Arete, if necessary (As I'm not sure if a Legendary can be forced into the PC, even one as weak as Arete). The baby Legend also gets Terra's Silver Powder to hold, as he would want to power up Fell Stinger so that it can actually perform its intended function a little better.
- Nathan intercepts and gives them their sad and dire sounding warning, which only served to magnify how guilty and bad about his Bargains with the siren queen, his head tilting downwards and hair shadowing his solemn expression as he thought about what his friend said.

He then let out his own heavy *Sigh....* and placed a hand on the young intellectual's shoulder, and slowly shook his head, looking ashamed but resolute.

".....No. I don't. Made.....Bargain out of desire, not wisdom. Desire to empower myself.....so I could protect everything I care about. ....And the desire to have a Legend to call mine own. Wishes I made were selfish, and my partner paid terrible price for them. I will always be.....filled with guilt and shame for what I put them through. That is the price I pay. Now, and forever."

His grip tightens.

"....But. But I don't regret it. Arete will help me. Help everyone. Help make sure we all Survive.....challenges ahead. Will make sure he is taken care of, and protect him from all harm, until he can defend himself. That I promise, to me, you, and Ven. Promise.

*Shakes head*

"Don't know all what to do myself. But I have you. You, and everyone else. If I mess up, you and our friends will help me. That is what I believe. *Stares straight into their eyes* Thank you, Nathan. For being such a good friend."

He then lets them go, slightly nodding back to them as they issued their the whispered part of their warning, the negativity fading away from his features and leaving only a severe seriousness behind. If what they said was the case, then he had yet another responsibility now: take care not to repeat the mistakes of his 'predecessors', and prevent the same mistakes or abused of his own 'successor' . Heavy was the burden he now carried, but he was a strong man. He would handle it.
