[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
Alexis looks kinda confused that Kogeki's wagering so little against her, but she just shrugs.  She really just wants to battle.  The amount being wagered doesn't really matter to her.

She frowns when Kogeki wants to make it a Full Battle, though.  "Unfortunately, I don't have a full team of 6 pokemon with me at the moment.  I like to train a few select pokemon until they're tough as nails!  I don't bring others along just so there's no distractions.  The Exp. Share that I got awhile back helps a lot with that, too!  I'll tell ya what: you use however many pokemon you wish.  Feel free to forfeit at any time!  If you forfeit or I beat all 6 of your pokemon, I win!~  If you beat all of my pokemon, though, you win!  Sound fair?"

When it's time for battle, she sends out...

...a Luxio and a Rapidash!

While Kogeki sends out...

[Image: latest?cb=20160816202520][Image: latest?cb=20160816122935]

Alexis looks surprised.  "...some kind of crab and fish pokemon?  Okay, wasn't expecting that..."

Aspido is snapping his claws in an intimidating way at Alexis's pokemon.  Particularly that Rapidash.  He's not paying the Luxio much mind.

Luxio, however, is snarling at Susano'o.

Initiatives
Aspido: (6) + 9 = 15
Susano'o: (3) + 11 = 14
Luxio: (3) + 10 = 13
Rapidash: (1) + 11 = 12

"Hmph.  Just fight, ya wimp."

This (probably drunk) Roughneck doesn't seem very keen on laying down some rules beforehand! He immediately sends out two pokemon!

[Image: Spr_4d_454_m.png][Image: Spr_4d_042_m.png]

Well, who does Kee send out in response? Poison types or no, Octavia definitely wants in on this action!
Reply
Ohhhhh, a completely lawless and free battle~? Well, that's fine too, not a hair of Kee is impressed by that. Quite the opposite actually! "Just.... Just shut the freakin' hell up", is all that Roughneck's receiving as a response.

Seeing how his blue faeeveelution is absolutely afraid of the poisonous traits of the foes - Dwelling by his side even inside of Roxie's Gym must have toughened her or such - Kee's all up to let her participate. "Just cuz you're weak to toxins doesn't mean you have to fear 'em, that's the right attitude, Octavia - SHOW HIM, make dad proud." The second choice of Pokemon is overjoyed to be sent out again and immediately starts to chatter at full blast: 'BattlebattlebattlebattleBATTLEBATTLEEEEE! You've got one minute from NOW on!!!' It's obviously Mercury, after the thankless defeat he had to suffer at the lake, he seems to be even MORE eager to show off his skills. Poisonous Pokemon? So what?!

Init Bonus is 7 for Chatot and 9* for Octavia due to her visible claws.

Teacher Jolene Round 1

Meditite starts by buffing...her ally!

Swagger 1
3 Tough + 4 Contest + 2 Intimidate - 2 = 7 D6
(5)(1)(3)(4)(6)(5)(4)
+3 Strength for Bibarel due to Simple!
Bibarel became Confused, but then ate her Persim Berry!

"As you can see, class, using certain moves in combination with certain items or Abilities can prove to be quite effective!  With the right strategies, even a weaker pokemon can topple strong foes!"

Lotus isn't having any of that, though!

Seed Bomb 1
(4)(1)(3)(2)
Bibarel has 3 Defense and Insight
(5)(6)(1) Bibarel takes 3 damage! 4/7 HP -1 Pain

Shellos flings some mud from the playground at the cross legged pokemon!

Mud Slap 1
(6)(1)(3)(6)(6)(2)
Meditite also has 3 Defense and Insight
(4)(3) Meditite takes 1 damage 5/6 HP
-1 Accuracy for Meditite

Bibarel's turn to attack!  Chomp!

Hyper Fang 1
2 Dex + 3 Fight + 3 Brawl - 2 Act - 1 Pain = 4 D6
(6)(2)(2)(1)
5* Strength + 3 Pow + STAB - 2 Defense = 7 D6
(5)(6)(3)(2)(5)(2)(1) Shellos takes 3 damage! 3/6 HP -2 Pain
(4)

Back to the top of the initiative, Meditite's now fighting directly!

Confusion 2
3 Dex + 3 Fight + 2 Channel - 4 - 1 Acc = 3 D6
(3)(1)(1) Miss!  That mud in her eyes is screwing up her concentration quite badly!

Poison Sting 2
(3)(6)
(1) Nope
(1)(6)(4) Meditite was Poisoned!

Earth Power 2
(6)(6)
(5)(3)(2)(5) Bibarel takes 2 damage! 2/7 HP -2 Pain
(6) -1 Sp. Defense for Bibarel!

Bibarel's still got a hit or two left in her, though!

Tackle 2
8 - 4 - 2 = 2
(2)(6)
(6)(2)(1)(5)(3)(3) Lotus takes 2 damage! 5/7 HP -1 Pain

Meditite tries to use a third action!

Force Palm 3
3 + 3 + 2 - 6 - 1 = 1
(4)
4* Strength + 2 Pow + STAB - 2 = 5 D6
(5)(5)(1)(4)(1) Shellos takes 2 damage! 1/6 HP -3 Pain
(5)(3)(5)

Bibarel tries to curl up defensively, hoping she'll be able to survive the next Round.

Defense Curl 3
3 + 3 + 3 - 6 - 2 = 1
(1) Nope, she's too stressed and pained to curl up properly!

(3) Meditite takes 1 damage from Poison. 4/6 HP -1 Pain

Lotus is in a pretty good position here, though Shellos isn't looking so hot.  It's a 2v2 battle, though, so there's no opportunities to switch anyone out!

Notes: Half damage dealt rounded down restored as HP, Big Root adds +1 to that

Shellos
Ancient Power
Accuracy: Dex(2)+Fight(3)+Channel(3)+SA(2)-Pain(3)= 7D6
Damage: Special(4)+2= 6D6

Teacher Jolene Round 2

"When you're pokemon start to feel a little winded, they should probably be taking it a little more slowly, class.  Pushing them too hard can be quite dangerous if not handled carefully."

Meditite goes for a Psychic attack, hoping to put that rose off balance, if not outright KO her!

Confusion 1
8 - 1 - 2 = 5
(5)(4)(5)(5)(2)
2 Spe + 2 Pow + STAB - 2 + SE = 3 D6 + 1
(3)(4)(2) Lotus takes 2 damage! 3/7 HP -2 Pain
(5) Nope

Lotus and Shellos retaliate with their best single attacks!

Giga Drain
(6)(4)(1)(2)(3)(5)
(6)(5)(5)(4)(1) Meditite takes 4 damage and faints!
Lotus recovers 3 HP! 6/7 HP No Pain

Ancient Power
(5)(4)(3)(3)(5)(4)(5) The stones that rise from the ground are extra huge and are loaded with excess ancient energy!  That's a critical hit!
(6)(5)(3)(6)(5)(5) Bibarel takes 5 damage and faints!
(6) +1 to Shellos's Strength, Special, Defense, Special Defense, and Dexterity!

Filled with all that powerful energy from such a mighty blow, Shellos starts to glow!  It gets brighter and brighter and brighter...

The class and Teacher Jolene all gasp in unison as it doesn't appear to stop!

What?  Shellos is evolving!  Press B on the Pokedex to cancel, or do nothing and let the scene play out!

Karen lets Shellos evolve

The evolutionary light continues to get brighter and brighter...

...and then it takes on a...darker, black color for a brief moment.  The rocks left behind in Ancient Power's wake crackle with that same dark energy simultaneously.  But the bright light of evolution is more prominent, and once again shines through the darkness after mere moments as the dark energy fades away.

After what feels like an eternity of waiting...the pokemon that stands before everyone is no longer Shellos.

Congratulations!  Shellos has evolved into Gastrodon!  2/7 HP -2 Pain

Gastrodon's Hidden Power increases to 2 Base Power and now increases Defense and Special Defense by 2 when used!

Gastrodon learns Sludge and gets Poison as a third type!

Wait, what?  What just happened?  Something's not quite right here...should a Gastrodon be oozing that much purple liquid?

Gastrodon is leaving quite the mess on the battlefield, getting that purple liquid everywhere.

Gastrodon's Hidden Power can now be triggered when he's either:
a) Hit by a contact move
b) Experiencing -2 or more Pain

Well, this is certainly an interesting/weird development...
