[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Dark Thing Round 2

Wide Guard 1
(4)(2)(5)(6)(3)(5) (6)(4)(1)
The team is protected, even in the darkness!

Growth 1
(6)(2)(2)(1)(5)(2)
+1 Str

Rose charges up a mighty Rock Smash, but goes sailing right through the creature. You see her fire here and there, but she's mostly invisible to you.

Growl 1
(5)(2)(2)(3)(2)(6)
-1 offense for the Dark Thing

Mikey has some trouble anticipating the movements of the Dark Thing, indicating it is Dark type. But Mind Reader isn't a true psychic attack. It's more about anticipating your foe's movements by whatever means possible.
Mind Reader 1
(3)(1)(2)(5)(5)(2) (1)(6)(1)
+2 dice forthcoming

You sense the darkness swirling and gathering around the pointy thing behind the Dark Slowbro. A lot of force is waiting to be unleashed.

Gothitelle is surrounded by the force of the Shield, but she can't make her Telekinesis lock on for some reason. Likewise, Arachnautilus' questing spell-tendrils find no purchase. Even Foresight fails to identify the creature.

Yawn 1
(3)(1)(5)(4)(2)(5) (3)
One more Frillish/Jellicent accounted for next turn.
Wide Guard 2
(2)(3)(3)(3)(2)(4)
Doublade darts between the invisible party members, using his Earthpower to locate and protect them.

Pixie and Whimsicott also fail in their actions against the target, while the darkness whispers, "FUTILITY!'

Mikey, however, predicted what would happen and transforms his action into an Evasion should he be targeted.

"READY? HERE I COME.... FROM OVER HERE....NO, OVER HERE!"

The darkness unfolds to wrap ethereal black ribbons around Infernape. Grating, rotating teeth latch down too. Wide Guard is completely ineffective against this attack.
Phantom Force 2 on Rose.
(1)(2)(3)(5)(4)(6) (3)(4)(6) Crit
(1)(2)(5)(5)(2)(4) (4) Rose takes 4 dmg
CD: (3)

Dark Spell 2
(1)(3) You hear Arachnautilus swearing vehemently. "We have to stop it ASAP! Its power is growing!

Foresight 2 - I'll say the darkness doesn't impact Foresight, since it's part of what you're trying to identify.
(2)(5)(4)(6)
To Toya's ghost sight, this is an ethereal Shellder of pure black shell, with Mimikyu-style tentacles protruding from its maw. It looks almost like a Slowking's Shellder.

Smog 2
(5)(2)(1)
This can't do damage, but the thing is Poisoned.

Blast Burn 3
(3)(3)(6)(5)
(6)(3)(1)(5)(5)(5) (1)(4)(4) Dark Shellder takes 5 dmg.
"YOU DARE???"

Faint Attack 3
Auto hit
(4) Dark/Ghost Shellder takes 1 dmg 6 total

Dazzling Gleam 3
(1)(4)(4)(1)
(5)(4)(1)(4)(6) Dark Shellder takes 5 dmg 11 total. It's showing signs of pain now, in that its scrabbling and teeth-grinding sound slower.

Mikey is trying to follow orders in the confusion when his master can't see. It's clear he's supposed to use either Mind Reader or Spore, and decides he has a chance of Spore working.
Spore 3
(2)(1)(4) The penultimate Frillish falls asleep.

The dark thing has gathered more power! It vanishes from sight again.

Every attack automatically misses, and Mikey can't use Mind Reader.

Phantom Force 4 on Rose
(4)(6)(4)(4)(5)(4) (2) Crit
(5)(6)(6)(5)(3)(5) (3)(4)(6) Rose faints. In unconsciousness, her flame burns brightly enough to actually illuminate the scene, and you wish it didn't. Now everyone can see the horrid blackness, the smooth immaculate shell, the glaring eyes, the carpet of spikes, the neurotoxins dripping from a forest of razor sharp teeth.
You can see the beast has grown bigger and stronger, too, though it's moving a bit more slowly. It is also raging, due to a few cracks in its shell where a black gas is leaking out.

Rock Smash goes right through.

Faint Attack 4
(5) 1 more damage. 12 total.

Spore 4
(4)(4)
The last Frillish winks out, but thanks to Rose's Blaze the darkness penalty won't go up.

The Dark Thing has reached maximum power, charging and unleashing Phantom Force all in one go!

Phantom Force 5 on Whimsicott
(6)(4)(2)(2)(4)(4)
(5)(2)(1)(1)(1)(1) (5)(3) I guess my good luck had to end somewhere. Whimsicott just shudders as the ghost phases through her, but doesn't take any actual damage.
CD: (5)

Poison: (1)(1)(4)(2)
The spiral Shellder appears on the far side of Whimsicott. It shudders once, then vomits up more toxic darkness from its maw. Half-disintegrated portions of its fragile inner surface slide in the slime. The darkness begins slowly fading, revealing first Rose, then the sleeping bodies of the Frillish and Jellicent, then the remnants of Dazzling Gleam. Dark Shellder faints.

Lastly, you see the glass walls revealed, and Posei & Gustav & Co tapping on the glass and pointing excitedly. They're swimming in naturally-dark waters and they couldn't be more delighted to show you what they've found. Unfortunately, it's not visible from the angle within the dark glass spheres.

There's lots of sunken treasure down here, though! In the glass spheres and the tunnels connecting to the sunken ships, you find a medchest containing 5 Revive, 10 Potions, 5 Super Potions, 1 Hyper Potion. There are also thousands and thousands of Pokedollar worth of seaborn treasure, anything that might wash up from the subterranean streams that now feed the Well after the cataclysmic battle. Jewelry, amulets, golden religious symbols, coins, valuable old tools. A set of gold teeth. A golden eye. Archaeological artifacts from every era. Gold, gold, and more gold! But nowhere any sign of a Hauberk.

All the gold together is worth a startling $200,000!

The Scimitars don't take a share of the monetary loot or healing supplies, but they do test a lot of the old items to see if they have any additional properties.

You want XP? Have some XP!

Each share of the fight is 18XP.

Up top, Nathan has mostly just seen the two super large Slowbro at work in their mechanical city. He's determined that almost all of it was scavenged, and probably not by Slowbro. The Slowbro just kind of took it over - all the ones you see in the water or islands are bigger and stronger than usual.

What Pokeball is Terra using on the Slowbro? (Which is slowly shrinking in size and becoming pink. You think it might revert to a normal Slowpoke if left alone).

(Terra will use a plain Pokeball, after Mikey has used Stun Spore on it and he himself makes it hold the Toxic Orb long enough for them to become Poisoned [Before giving it back to Mikey]. Let's thoroughly Status this Dark Thing just in case, yes? If the ball breaks, then he'll just let the Slowpoke die from Toxic Poisoning with a heavy heart, as he can't really take any chances/be merciful with them after what he saw of it.)

"And thats teach you!" Heart said to the creatures when they finally fall. "Guys, you dont mind if I take one Revive?" Hearing no objection, Heart proceed to take a Revive. He didn't use any of those items

I okay with Potions for now, so the rest of the items can be shared by everyone.

I up for following Posei and Gustav. Unless everyone wants to rest after such difficulty battle?

"I actually need this the most," Spira picks up the Hyper Potion, "So, if you don't mind..." he adds it to his inventory.
Concerning the gold, is it bullion/something that'd have to be sold for its value, or something that could easily be used in place of pokedollars? If the former, then Spira has no problems with Terra holding on to the gold (provided he mentions IC that he'd be the best choice for selling off that gold), if the latter is the case, then let's go ahead and split that dough up!
