[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
Two Empathy checks versus a group Will resistance for the Snover.

Octavia: (3)(1)(4)(5)(4)(1)(2)(3) - 1 because the wind is blowing it away from the Snover = 1 success
Karen: (6)(3)(5)(2)(4)(3)(2)(4)(2)(2)(4)(4)(6) 7 successes.  The Snover have 7 Will, so they need to ace their roll to resist.
Snover: (2)(5)(4)(5)(3)(3)(2) 3 successes.

While the wind makes Octavia's fairy dust entirely ineffective, Karen running out and claiming she and her friends don't want to fight causes the Snover to hesitate right before they would have started attacking (as they interpreted Octavia's action as an attack).

The Snover look at each other and discuss something.  One of them steps forward and makes a 'come here' gesture with one of its arms.  They want to see who the newcomers' friends are.

Ran's not coming forward; in fact, he'll retreat towards the previous room, just to avoid interaction with the Snovers. He doesn't trust them, nor has faith in Kee's/Karen's plan (nor agrees with the wee lass' statement, since he very much wanted to fight the mobile christmas trees, and so won't make himself a lair out of him), so he's doing as he promised earlier and backing out. That's the best you'll be getting out of the bristly blacksmith, and nobody is going to dissuade him of his course of action.

Eh. Kee facepalms (-‸ლ) when things go array once more, and makes a mental note of not having the faeeveelution wave her ribbons around as that could be misinterpreted by wild Pokemon easily. She backs off and yelps a bit as the Snover were only moments away from attacking, and goes hiding behind Karen in fear over being turned into a Glaceon against will. Now the roles have been reserved, Octavia's asking Karen to protect her.

Encouraged by the Snover's curiosity(?), colorful musician eventually showing himself, and the moment he does the Sylveon leaps into his open arms and receives a soothing "You weren't harmed, so calm down again, will ya?". To show that he does not mean any harm neither, he's coming forward in the same universal-pacific-palms- up gesture Karen just displayed and lets Octavia wrapping a ribbon around her arm to express that they belong together. She herself receives an approving pat on the shoulder and a praising "Well done. (・ω<)☆"

The Snover carefully eye three trainers who revealed themselves, then turn and appear to discuss something, the wind and hail howling around both parties all the meanwhile.  After several minutes of this, they nod in unison, and the one that's apparently the 'leader' steps forward.  It raises its arms above its head, trying to look taller, then points to the group and mimes punching something.  It then points to the hallway with the sunset glow, and the whole group of Snover move so the three trainers can pass.

-----------------------------------------

Randolph, meanwhile, has retreated back into the corridors all on his lonesome.  While it kept the Snover from detecting him, he can't tell what's going on in the 'stage' room now.  The wind and hail howl around him, preventing him from seeing or hearing what's happening there.  Aside from the snowstorm, the corridor is quiet.

Well, in that case ), once the dwarven craftsman realizes he's not going to get ANY intel about the 'Stage' Room, he opts to instead to investigate/try to investigate the room beyond the first pair of doors the group with Brigid and Catherine flanking his front/back. He's FAR too stubborn and unwilling to submit himself to Kee's/Karen's peaceful approach after making such a strong point about his own stance (nor acknowledge the merits of their own approach thereof, no matter how sparing and grudging said acknowledgement is), so he's going to forge his own path through B4 and do things HIS way, and he'll let nothing put him out, like a Brigid's indomitable INFERNOS! NOTHING!

Here's hoping Ran doesn't end up die trying in his solo investigations, the silly, arrogant man.....

*crrrrrreeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaak*

The door to that room swings open on rusty hinges, as if it hasn't been moved in a long, long time.  Again, a stark contrast to the ones found earlier in the Snowpoint Temple.  Beyond it is a room that appears to be a dead end.

*rolls*

Inside the room is a chest, worn by age and cold.  Randolph is currently standing in the doorway.

Upon discovering the room was an apparent dead end, Ran has to resist the urge to facepalm and let out a nasty curse. Well, so much for his grand plans for solo-exploration....

*Sighs* Well, nothing else to it, he supposes. He'll investigate all he can from this room, before relocating to the stairs/entrance. Hopefully he'll find SOMETHING of interest, either to his investigations or in general....

How Ran Investigates the Room:

1st: Have Catherine scout it out and cast Powder Snow EVERYWHERE while she does, just in case some baddies are lurking in Stealth. What you don't know CAN hurt you, and the midget man was going to take NO chances with this floor from what he's seen of it and the rest of the Temple, no matter how paranoid it makes him!
2nd: If the room checks out clear, Ran will enter and explore the room himself (Having Brigid melting any patches of ice that may/may not have formed from Catherine's Powder Snowing), and start searching for clues or other stuff with Puck and Diam (Likehidden passages). This floor was like a dungeon, so he was going to treat it as such: full of danger, traps, and secrets galore!
3rd: Request Catherine open up and check/retrieve the contents of the Old Chest, with Stymph ready on stand by to swoop on in to rescue/Cover the gelid gal from danger, should it turn out to be trapped. Ran will be right in the entrance of the room with the doors to it flug wide open BEFORE ordering Catherine to check the chest out, just in case doing so would trigger a trap on the whole room and therefore he could escape from it ASAP!

That'll be it for preparations, so time to get exploring!

Powder Snow doesn't reveal anything, as the room is rather barren aside from the chest.

As soon as Randolph and Brigid walk into the room, though, they trigger a trap that the blacksmith hadn't spotted!  Two sets of icicles drop from the ceiling!

Icicle Crash Trap
(1)(6)(5)(1)(5)
(3)(6)(1)(5)(3) 2 hits, one on Randolph, one on Brigid
6 - 1/4 - NVE = 5/2 D6
(2)(2)(5)(3)(4) Randolph takes 2 damage 4/6 HP -1 Pain
(6)(5) Brigid takes 1 damage

*rolls*

Checking the room for hidden passages turns up nothing except a barren room.  The chest (which is wooden) is also frozen shut.

(If Randolph had entered this room by himself, btw, he would have fainted from how well I rolled for that trap's damage)
