Terra's gonna be tangling with that Giant Tentacruel tentacles then with Sari and Oinari, as he wants nothing else to suffer its venomous sting! He's all amped up for battle, so let's get right on into the thick of it!

The Giant Tentacruel guards a little passage past an underwater lake.

Numel: (4)
Frillish: (1)
Dittumarill: (1)

Numel is half-buried in the dust which permeates this area. A little dribble of hot lava pours down his side and into the dust, solidifying it instantly.
Definitely a Pokemon worthy of Ambush.

(3)(5)(2)(4)(5)(3) (4)(5)(6)

Numel's 5 Survival + 2 Insight + 0 Alert
(6)(5)(3)(4)(1)(1) (5)

Loyalty: (3)(4)

Bubble 0 on Spira and Numel
(3)(6)(6)(6)(1)(4) (2)(2)(4)(4)(2)(1) (1)(6) Critical hit.
(4)(3)(3), (4) Spira takes 2 dmg Numel takes 3 dmg 21/24hp - 1 pain
Dex -1

Awakened, Numel shifts and rocks the cavern and sends everyone sprawling. The shockwaves are so strong even the slightly floating Frillish is hit. Spira falls but takes no damage, but the Pokemon are hurled against walls.
Earthquake 1
(5)(1)(1)(4)(4)(4) (6)(5)(2) Critical hit
7 Str + 4 power +1 stab -5 vit = 7d6+2 = 9d6
(5)(5)(3)(4)(6)(3) (5)(3)(1) Frillish and Dittomarill take 5 dmg 4/9hp -2 pain

Bubble 1
(5)(1)(1)(2)(3)(5) (5)
(4) Numel takes 3 dmg 18/24hp -1 pain

Rain Dance 1
(3)(3)(4)(6)
Water from the Slowpoke Well above collects and moisturizes the cavern. It doesn't actually begin to rain, but it does hamper Numel's fire attacks and buff the water attacks.

Numel doesn't like that and bellows again.
Earthquake 2
(1)(4)(3)(4)(4)(3) (5)(3)
(6)(6)(4)(2)(5)(2) Frillish and Ditto faint.

Seeing only one foe before him, Numel hups himself to his feet and moves battlefields. Takes his third action.

He doesn't stop, and tromps right over Spira.
Double-Edge 4

Duosion: (6)
Emolga: (2) + 11 = 13
Golbat: (2) + 5 Dex + 5 Survival = 12

Alright, let's do what we usually do and try to limit what this Golbat can do!  We'll increase Nathan's Canalize stat to 4 for 18 exp!  The urge to fight is too strong!

More of the same from Duosion!

Duosion:

FLASH 1
Acc: 15 - 5 = 10 D6
Eff: -3 Acc for Golbat

Reflect 2
Acc: 15 - 6 = 9 D6
Eff: -1 damage from non-ranged moves

Psywave 3-5
Acc: 15 - 7/8/9 = 8/7/6 D6
Dmg: 6 D6

Reminder: Duosion has 5* Defense due to her Eviolite

Time for Emolga to really show what he can do!

Emolga:

Nuzzle 1
Acc: 15 - 5 = 10
Dmg: 1 + 5 + STAB + SE = 7 D6 base + 1 damage
Eff: Paralyzes Golbat! (-2 Dex, so it stacks with FLASH!)

Then once Golbat's paralyzed, Emolga begins zipping around at incredible speeds, striking Golbat with spheres of electricity!

Electro Ball 2-5 (learned for 26 exp!)
Acc: 15 - 6/7/8/9 = 9/8/7/6
Dmg: 2 + 3 Dex advantage + 5 + STAB + SE = 11 D6 base + 1 damage

If Emolga or Duosion accumulate 4 or more damage during the fight, then Nathan will use a (Super) Potion Orchid to heal them (Potion if they accumulate exactly 4 damage, Super Potion if they accumulate more than 4 damage).
Reply
"Oof... Damn." Spira uses his other Super Potion on himself (Back to 10/10!) "Go, Toya and Hida, Toya, Disable, then Bind and Shadow Punch three times, Hida, Yawn, then Smog, Rock Slide and Ancient Power twice!"

Toya
Disable
Accuracy: Dex(5*)+Fight(5)+Canalize(4)-Actions(5)= 9D6
Notes: Target cannot perform the last move it used, lasts four rounds

Bind
Accuracy: Dex(5*)+Fight(5)+Brawl(4)-Penalty(2)-Actions(5)= 6D6
Damage: Strength(4)+1= 5D6
Notes: Block, deal (2) damage at the end of each Round, lasts 4 rounds

Shadow Punch A/B/C
Accuracy: Dex(5*)+Fight(5)+Brawl(4)-Actions(5)= 7/6/5 D6
Damage: Strength(4)+STAB(1)+2= 7D6
Notes: Never Fail, Fist-Based

Hida
Yawn
Accuracy: Dex(5*)+Fight(5)+Canalize(4)-Actions(5)= 9D6
Notes: Puts target to sleep if they're not swapped out by the end of the round

Smog:
Accuracy: Dex(5*)+Fight(5)+Canalize(4)-Penalty(3)-Actions(5)= 5D6
Damage: Strength(4)+1= 5D6-NVE(1)
Notes: Poison (4)

Rock Slide
Accuracy: Dex(5*)+Fight(5)+Canalize(4)-Penalty(1)-Actions(5)= 6D6
Damage: Strength(4)+STAB(1)+2= 7D6
Notes: Spread Move, Flinch (3)

Ancient Power A/B
Accuracy: Dex(5*)+Fight(5)+Canalize(4)-Actions(5)= 6/5D6
Damage: Strength(4)+STAB(1)+2= 7D6
Notes: All Stats up (1)

Pumped and emboldened by the competitive energy that charged the air, Terra and his partners wasted no time marching forward to confront the great tentacled behemoth, giving it a harsh glare as he raised a fist towards it and clenched it, a clear sign of challenge.

"You will fall, Tentacruel. Sari, show them no mercy. Oinari, Fake Tears and Extransensories. Break them down."

Orders: Sari has 'Do Anything You Want!' orders, while Oinari will weaken the Giant Tentacruel with Fake Tears before giving them heck of a headache with 4 Extrasensories! Sari will get a Potion when she loses 2 more HP (she's currently at 10/12 HP), and Oinari is Illusioned as Big Genesect. Time to deliver a mental thrashing to the ginormous jellyfish!

If anyone of his Pokemon Faints, he'll draw his Long Sword and join the fight, Strike slashing it as many times as the Fainted Pokemon had Actions left (IE: If they had three Actions before they Fainted, Terra would Strike them three times), more or less acting mechanically as a living set of Conditional Orders. He's that gung ho from The Eye's influence, and wants to maintain pressure on the jelly and reduce aggro on his remaining partner. How you handle this (or not) is up to you ultimately, though.

Moves:

Oinari: 5 Actions - Fake Tears (- 2 Defense on Target), and Extrasensory X 4 (STR [*4] + 3 + SE = 7D6 + 1 Base Damage, 1D6 Chance to Flinch)
Dice Pools: Perform (13D6) and Channel (15D6), both accounting for her + 1 DEX

No damage (nor HP recovery) from Leech Life, actually!  It's a Contact move, so Reflect would affect it and nullify the damage entirely!

Duosion can't help but be simultaneously terrified and smug during that battle.  They can take it!  But what if it tries to eat her?  Nah, it'll be fine!  ATTACK!!

Yeah, this whole dual personality thing is going to be quite something, apparently...

Emolga's breathing heavily after that battle.  Phew, he's not moved that fast in a long, long time...he's feeling accomplished, though!  Giant, 15 foot tall bat pokemon?  No problem, right?

Nathan gathers up that Silver Powder carefully.  While it has the same effect as the Itching Powder sold in Cress City, it's probably far more valuable due to being the real deal item made by certain bug pokemon.

...which makes Nathan wonder where this Golbat got it from.

Well, a mystery for another time, probably.  Nathan will leave Golbat where it is.  It probably wouldn't like the surface, and he doesn't really have any need to catch a massive Golbat.

Another battle down. And closer and closer to the Sword we get...

[u]Giant Numel Round 2[u]

Yawn 1
(3)(6)(3)(1)(2)(1) (1)(6)(3)
Numel got drowsy... you think. It's hard to tell.

Disable 1
(2)(1)(1)(6)(6)(6) (4)(4)(5)
Double Edge was disabled!

Earthquake 1
(6)(4)(1)(6)(5)(4) (2)(1)(3) Critical
(1)(1)(2)(5)(4)(3) (4)(5)(5) Hida takes 6 dmg 4/10hp -2 pain

Numel doesn't seem to notice that Toya isn't affected, until he receives a Bind next turn.

Smog 2
(3)(3)(1) Miss. There's too much loose earth everywhere, including between Magcargo's own fire and stone.

Bind 2
(2)(3)(5)(1)(3)(4)
(1) No damage, but Numel was bound with ghostly power.

Earthquake 2
(5)(2)(2)(2)(5)(1) (4)(6)
(5)(4)(4)(4)(1)(6) (4) Hida faints.

Shadow Punch 3
(1)(3)(5)(3)(2)(5) (6)
(3) No damage

Earthquake 3
Wait, what? Numel seems to be figuring it out.

Shadow Punch 4
(4)(4)(5)(3)(4)(6)
(4)(1)(4) Numel takes 2 dmg 12/24 -2 pain

Flame Burst 4
(2)(6)(3)(5)(5)(5)

The fireball hits Toya and scatters to the ends of his gloves, giving him a spooky ghostlight appearance.
