[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
....Okay, who's going to claim The Sword now? Nathan, Spira, or possibly someone else? I....well, I would be lying if I didn't want it for Terra, as he is the resident Warrior/Monk of the group (And is the only chara that has actually fought Pokemon), and I've been thinking about whether or not I want to backtrack on my earlier decision. @Dragonstrike , how important is it that Nathan should claim/wield The Sword itself?

I think Nathan could grab the sword. Since he did mentioned interested in grab such item.

Before we discuss who gets the Sword, someone has to pull it out of that stone. Ya know, Sword in the Stone and all that. Only a mighty king can pull it free from where it has been entombed, according to the Dragon Prophecy (as stated by Lurantis).

OOC: of everyone in the group, I'm thinking Nathan is the most likely to be able to pull it out of that rock. He is the only one who has 6 gym badges at the moment, and thus has the right to challenge the Elite 4. He is also of noble descent, which probably doesn't hurt either.

There's also the matter of that funny feeling that Nathan had back in Atheneum, when he was looking at the bust that came after Sarimanok's...

@Dragonstrike, dont forget the profecy Ark ancestor mentioned to Heart: About a sword be the key of the restoration of the ArcHeart Clan, and he is the left member of the ArcHeart clan, so he might be wortly try in take the sword out.

From my understanding, Spirit, the Sword is unrelated to the Archeart clan.

Or destroy the stone with a well placed ROCK SMASH and grab the Sword from the rubble, as even if it's Plot Deviced HM Move would deal SE Damage to it (Stone is Rock), and therefore bypass protections entirely unless Iron just outright nulls any way to get it outside of 'You must pull it out.'

Another interpretation of Mighty King could be a more literal one: Terra is both mighty, and as a descendant of a line of merchants he could in some way be considered of noble/kingly blood. Same thing applies for Heart, given his whole family history.

Well, that feeling doesn't necessarily mean he'll become the king, though the possibility is very likely present.

I don't know.....it's time like this I wish the Artifacts were a bit less possesive of their wielder, as it WOULD be nice if we could have swapped around our Plot Devices between us and save us all the bickering over who gets what and all that. Oh well, tis the nature of them, I suppose.

Given the nature of the situation, we probably need to hear the whole Dragon Prophecy to fully understand what the intention is (though I can't ignore the obvious references to Caliburn/Excalibur and King Arthur). I doubt the sword will be as easy to grab as using Rock Smash, though. This is the weapon once wielded by Sarimanok, after all.

Yeah, I doubt ROCK SMASH plan will work too hot, but it was just an example I presented as to how to get around pulling it out. Never know if spitballed ideas might fly or not, until you try them! For instance, another method to freeing it could be having Quetzal try to EAT the rock holding The Sword, if ROCK SMASHING it don't work.

Where can we hear the full story, then? In the Nidoran town, or somewhere else? If we can't, then we'll have to blindly try to determine who CAN pull the sword out (After we decide who gets it/gets the first go at it)

We'll have to ask around about the Dragon Prophecy. Maybe the Nidoran might know something.

Okay, guess we'll do just that! Just in case, though, does everyone know about the Dragon Prophecy, or is that something only Nathan knows? Also, the group hasn't ENTERED Nidoran City yet, so we don't know exactly what their reaction will be to us, good or bad. That'll probably have to be handled delicately by Shiva and/or Terra.
