If you can't figure out a way to get it out, I'd just let Cosh have a go at it and swallow that bitter pill if he gets it free. Better for our allies to have it so we have MUCH better chances of beating Deoxys, than not and not imo.

If you/Nathan can't find a way to get it out, but refuse to let the only people who haven't tried to get at it, you're literally giving the entire group a massive disadvantage against Deoxys that could screw over the entirety of Cheshire. Which I imagine is something NO ONE wants, most especially Nathan, since it's his home. So, again, if he can't get the Sword out, then let the Scims try their luck, damn it. Should they too fail, then we can say we tried everything we could to get at it, and just wash our hands of The Sword and leave it to continue to gather dust.

*Sighs* No, but I think I need one, at any rate. This whole Sword business has left me feeling negative and defeated on a whole despite me trying to be cheerful about, so I'm not exactly in the right mood to play the game now. Maybe after a few days I'll feel better, or at least be able to handle it all better.

Either way, I was just stopping by before turning in for the night, all I wanted to state is that Shiva wouldn't have leadership-feelings towards the one who gets the Sword regardless who it'll be in the end because according to her they are one group and equally important, noms half of the nori Spira made herself before feeding it to her Pokemon (it lacks rice) and being extremely spooked and fearful towards that huge Nidoking....king as it could potentially break more than one bone within the blink of an eye, she goes hiding behind the Shield and eyes that king while going all shaky and jumpy.

...okay, so...anyone else have any ideas of what we could trade Nidoking for the Sword? Because now would be a good time to voice them.

@Dragonstrike, I have a few ideas. I still have the Houndoom Fang to cause Flinch on foes, and could be useful to him to give Flinch in every strike. We could also offer Heart Metal Tag who is capable of repel ghost of the Gastly line who could be useful to protect them against this kind of Pokemon. Or even the Miracle Rood who could give him access to Grass Knot, who could give Nidoking a advantage against Water-types, his main weakness. I could also raise my Earthpower again, and together with someone who have at least 1 poin of Earthpower, I could try make a circle of protection in their Kingdom. Since this is one of the advantages of the Earthpower in Level 7.

Well, Terra has the Poison Barb he got from 'defeating' Giga Tentacruel, or the Life Orb he has, but I doubt that either/both would be fitting compensation for The Sword given the power it has. One possible solution is my chara trade himself and his Pokemon services to them in exchange for it (or its use until its brought back), as he'd be willing to make such a grand sacrifice for the cause, but that would effectively remove me from the game if it worked (And leave the rest of his Pokemon in PC Limbo). I'd still do it, mind you, as I want the group to be able to succeed and win over all else , and Terra's whole existence is basically is 'Bodyguard Protector Enabler', so if that's what it takes....
