Quote:And what about normal TMs? If anyone has any unused ones that a Nidoking could use, that'd definitely hold some value.
I've got a Toxic TM that I haven't used yet. Would help with wearing down some of the tougher beasties that aren't part Poison Type, slowly but surely.
I also have that Aqua Jet TM from earlier that I don't particularly need, though whether they have a Nido special enough to use it is another question entirely.

No, they have the normal TM list unless maybe it has to do with Kings or size.

I'd rather not give up the Life Orb if at all possible, but I'm willing to give away the Poison Barb and Soft Sand I got from Giga Magcargo, and Shiva could possibly Tutor the Nidos in several Moves if she would be willing. Their's also our groups Leftovers, but given how HUGE these Pokemon are, I doubt they'd be of much use.
Terra don't have any unused TMs , so he has nothing to offer them there unless the Scims have the ability to Recycle them (And that probably comes with some downsides if they're willing to do so in the first place) .
Honestly, I'm more keen on letting Terra soak up the cost by sacrificing himself into servitude, as it's the simplest solution that's likely to appeal to Nidoking (As a king would always appreciate more strong subjects to defend their kingdom) without going through loops of convincing him to other options. Of course, we could just force Nidoking to draw The Sword by threatening his kingdom with destruction, then utterly screw him over in a coordinated mass Fight against him and then just take it, if all else fails. But I doubt that ANYONE but the Scims in the group would find that idea appealing, for multiple reasons.

Hmm.....I've just had an idea that could help get The Sword , but I'm not sure if it would work or not: Teaching Nidoking and Nidoqueen Fissure, via Tutoring from Shiva with the help of Cosh (Since he 'knows' the Move) . Having a OHKO they normally can't learn at their disposal to fell invanders in one go is pretty potent tool to have, and the Nido rulers likely have plenty of Dice to pull it off consistently , so that could be the very thing needed to get them to give up the Artifact. Of course, that's contingent on whether Shiva is capable of Tutoring Fissure and if the Nidos can learn it (They can in Gen 1, due to Fissure being a TM during then), and it would take at least a couple of days or more to tutor Nidoking/queen, but if it's a viable....

Definitely sounds like a viable option to me (even if it is useless against Flying types). Do we think we have the time to spare, though? That'll probably take 3 or 4 days, assuming average rolls.

We probably don't have the time, unless Shiva/Phantom is willing to stay behind in Nido City all by herself to Tutor them (If she can) while the rest of the group goes searching for the last Artifact for the Scims (As we can't exactly abandon them, since we need to cooperate with them now in order to maximize our chances against Deoxys [And Terra wouldn't approve of leaving them high and dry now]) . Given her fear of Poison types and her especially potent fear of the Nido family.....yeah, I doubt she'd be willing to stick around long enough to teach them royals without someone there to be her anchor. Still, it's an option to explore, none the less, and hey, the group could always come back to Nido City after getting the last Artifact and then spend the time their both Tutoring the royals to get The Sword and prepare themselves for their future Fight.
If the Scimitars are able (and willing) to Recycle TMs, that'd make teaching Nidoking Fissure MUCH easier, but I doubt they do.

Keep in mind that particular function of Recycle also wasn't in the main series games. It was exclusive to PMD. Whether that'd work at all is up to GM discretion.

I can spare one of the crude Soft Sand I got from Tapinch to let Nidoking use it, they can't learn my free TM of Dazzling Gleam though.
Unfortunately, Shiva would never agree to stay behind for tutoring the Nido, that'd be too off-character and too dangerous even with the Shield. But, the assumption that it'd take her 'at least a couple of days' to tutor Fissure to the King is wrong, I've got 15 dice in a Tutor Roll, 12 successes are needed to teach a damaging move, so it'd take me only one or two Encounters unless the rolls end up terrible, especially if Cosh can aid in that. The isdue is that a Pikemon can only be tutored once a day under nornal conditions - though, does the interior of the Skull Ruins with the threat of Deoxy count as 'Normal conditions, @ Iron?
Shiva wants at least Terra to stay with her though for protection if you like to move on, or we can all choose to spend Encounters here.
