[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Oh dear... All those wild Cottonee in Elanor, Shiva's feeling horrible for them and an urge to free them all from the grasp of that Alienmon increases within her and her own beloved fluffball. These news make her worried about the Sacred Grove.

But the positive news are giving her hope, let her invisible will to battle blaze up to a raging flame.

Heart prepare himself. His gear is ready. The final battle is finally come. Heart make a pray. "Arceus. Creation Trio. Please. Give me and my friends the strength to fight this evil. Arc, Master of Flames, give us victory."

Heart then finally go to the lobby. "So...this is it huh? The final battle. Honestly I never expected in fighting a Creature of space to save a region. Let's survive okay? We have a feast of victory waiting for us."

Heart also buy a few more Pokeballs, 10 more Ultra Ball, with a total of 30.

Terra gave a firm nod to his elite collector of a friend, his expression unchanging but an air of resounding agreement thrumming around him as he replied.

"Yes. Let us win. No matter what"

Saying thus, he turned towards Heart, and reached out with his hands to press something in their own.

When they checked to see what, they'd find it to be none other than a Key Stone. 

Terra calmly shared a look with them that said it all: this is your special weapon to wield against Deoxys. Use it well.

And with that, the sagely monk has finished his preparations. He and everyone was now fully ready for the most epic Fight of their entire lives.

It is now Day 82! The day of Deoxys!

Marco and Martha are in the living room when Nathan wakes up. Both are smiling and holding hands. You haven't seen Martha this happy in 3 years.

He uses his foot to slide a cloth off of the coffee table. Under the cloth is revealed a strange glass machine, with pollen, dust, and tiny feathers floating around inside its cylinder. Occasional lightning bolts are visible within it. Every time the quiet thunder rolls, the straps glow, sending along all the information necessary to learn this epic move.

(Isn't it Day 83?)

Nathan has to blink a few times to register what he's seeing.  "...when did you retrieve that?  That wasn't there last night, was it?"

Speaking of last night, Nathan would have told his mom about the other reason he had to go to the Skull Ruins, the other things that had to be retrieved there beyond Marco.  And thus, it would have boiled down to his role in this resistance against Deoxys.  As the wielder of the Sword, he needs to be up close and personal with the real deal Deoxys Prime.  If all goes well, they'll defeat it and drive it off, hopefully for good.  If not...well, a lot could happen if things don't go so well, so let's not think about that in too much detail.

Nathan checks the Mesprit card to see where the Emotion Pokemon is right now.  Presumably, they're in position, ready to assist in this final fight.  And they're Nathan's trump card to ensure Cosh won't be able to easily backstab the group...Nathan's avoided saying much about Mesprit at all outside of conversations with the group and select individuals he felt he could trust...if all goes according to plan, Cosh won't have planned for there to be a member of the Lake Trio present at the final battle with Deoxys...

But last night, Nathan wasn't going to worry about that beyond having to tell his mom what was going to happen the next day.  He'd much rather spend that time enjoying the company of his family, now whole once more, instead of worrying about the responsibility he can deal with the following day.

The little things in life matter too, after all, as Nathan's parents are so kindly demonstrating in the morning.

(Oh, and I forgot to state this earlier, but Nathan would have registered the male Dratini to one of those colorless Apricorns and sent them to the PC, along with the words, "You'll be safer there than with me, at least for the next little while. Okay?")

In any case, back in the present, Nathan wastes no time teaching his pokemon how to use FLY with the Hidden Machine.  Charizard gets the honor of learning FLY first, then Masq, then Kumo.  Nathan won't teach it to Vibrava for right now.

He will, however, teach it to his recently obtained Seadra!  "To be perfectly honest with you, Seadra, I wasn't able to purchase a Dragon Scale right away.  I needed to spend all of my currently available funds on preparing to deal with the current crisis.  A promise is a promise, though, and I will be getting you a Dragon Scale at the soonest opportunity.  So in the meantime, I'd like to see if you can use this move.  This very powerful, almost Legendary move that I'm sure almost no other member of your species could even dream of utilizing."  It's not every day you get to see a FLYing Seadra, after all.

(Speaking of FLY, what are the details on the souped up version of the move?)

Nathan has a question for his dad before leaving for Cress on the back of Charizard, the FLY HM in hand so that everyone else in the group can teach it to their pokemon as well.  "So, are you going to be joining us in fighting Deoxys Prime in Elanor?  Or will you stay behind and defend a different area?"

Mom hugs Nathan. "Your dad and I had a talk last night. He's convinced me to let you go, and he'll be there as well. But if you two don't come back...I'll kill you both, understand?"

Mesprit is actually in the Swamp, floating right in front of the portal to Elanor.

The FLY HM is a 5-power charge move. You can charge for two actions instead of just one, if you wish to delay longer. Another Pokemon with FLY or another powerful method of getting in range can still hit you during the charge phase, as can Hurricane and Thunder. However, a regular old Pigeot without the FLY HM still can't get within range as fast as you can keep FLYing away.

Twister, Whirlwind, Sky Uppercut, and Gust can also still hit airborne targets.  (Gust and Twister also double in power in the games when that happens.  But only those two moves specifically)

Alright, time to get going.  One moment, Nathan and his dad are in Trillium...

...and the next, they've arrived in front of the Pokemon Center in Cress City atop their winged mounts.

Nathan strides into the Lobby alongside Gallade, looking confident and prepared, the Sword hanging by his side. And then the next moment, he's found the rest of the group and started chatting with them.  "My dad fetched the item, as requested.  We'll take a moment to teach it to our pokemon...and then we'll be off to our battle with Deoxys.  Everyone's prepared, right?  Deoxys will have cloned itself another 2 or 3 times overnight, so we should expect to be facing greater numbers."

...Heart simple couldnt believe in his eyes. He simple without words at that moment, with such item now in his hands.

A real Key Stone. A item capable of Mega Evolve a Pokemon with a strong bond.

After the adventures he had together with Quetzal, he have a chance of Mega Evolve him when they battle Deoxys...But....

"Terra...I simple dont know what to say...Thank you my friend. But...What about the League? If they find out I am holding such item...they..." Heart grip the Key Stone. "Not to mention...This item should be give to the strongerst member of the team. You or Nathan should be using such item...With his Sword, he could cut in half Deoxys with Gallade attacks..."


He was about to give the Key Stone back, but then he see Terra determination look. Then it snap out. He might orignally think in give to Nathan the Key Stone, but he decided to give Heart the Stone instead. He believe in him. Despite the mistakes Heart did in this journey, Terra give Heart the stone, because he trust in Heart potential. The potential of be a strong person. And a strong person.

He cant betray such feelings Terra is give to him. He let Heart burrow such item, because he believe Heart can be important in this battle. And he will not disapoint him. Not Terra, and of none of his friends.

Heart will not fail this time. He failed once in protect his family. He not loose his second family.

"....Terra. I promise to keep this Key Stone with me. If you burrow such item and giving to me, its because you trust on me...When I first come to Cheshire, I was running away from my past, because I failed to save my family and Clan...But....When I reach this region, I meet so many wonderfull people: Nathan, Ventus, shiva, Valder, Spira and you Terra. I also befriend so many Pokemon who soon became my companions too. You all are more than just friends. You all became precious to me as family." Heart then approach Terra and raise his hand. "Terra. We soon gonna go to our ultimate battle. Problably the final battle. Death was never so much close. We gonna protect everyone, and protect each other back. I make a vow today. In the name of the Creation Trio, Arceus, and my Ancestor, I name you Terra, my brother in Arms. And brother in Arms of the ArcHeart Clan. May your name be remember by the anals of history even after our time. We gonna be brother from now and forever, even if Grinatina cold touch take our lives away. Do you accept this vows?"

Heart gave the same vows to his other friends: Nathan, Shiva and Spira.

The sagely monk just shook his head at their concerns, and countered them calmly. "Will take responsibility if trouble comes you using Key Stone. Don't think League would mind or care about it now, though. Need all help they can get."

He doesn't have anything to say about their doubts, though, and he indeed almost glared at them when they tried to give it back to him. It'd almost qualified as an insult if they did, as that would be like them saying they didn't appreciate his thoughtful aid in the slightest and/or spitefully/disdainfully rejected it. Choosing Heart to wield the Key Stone was a very deliberate choice on his part, and he would not see it be rejected for less that fantastically justified reasons.

When the pun lover recanted his ill perceived inadequacy and promised to take good care of it, he nearly smiled and nodded.....until they declared him their s brother, and asked if he would accept his word.

Immediately, Terra froze, before reeling back so fast you'd think he got whiplash from it. He stared at his friend in complete befuddled surprise, so caught off guard by.....that offer that he hardly could conceive a way to react, other than with jaw dropped like a hungry Gyarados chowing down on Wailmer.

Several minutes passed as the mountain of a men stood paralyzed by Heart's vow.....and he shook his head. Slowly at first, before it picked up to a moderate speed as he appeared uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable.

"....No. No. No no no. Can.....can not accept, Heart. Can not I'm.....sorry, but I can not."

.......Oh.

A uncomfortable silence descended between them as he rejected his friend's offer, before he hesitantly and....sadly explained himself.

"......Heart, you are my friend. One of closest friend. Done many good and great things for me, as I have for you. No doubt exist of....Strength and realness of our friendship. But. .....But do not consider you a brother. Not now. Not yet. Only three I consider my brother. Shiranui (His Hariyama), Ventus, and......Nathan. Both taught me many, many things. Gave....new purpose and perspective on my life. Changed my life. Saved my life. All that, once, twice....many times."

*Adverts Gaze*

"Brothers.....siblings....they are special to me, like no other. Even more special than my mama and papa. Cherish and respect them, so so much. Not.....able to say how, more. So special....can't consider others my sibling. Not easily. ....I'm sorry, Heart. But that is that."

Once more, silence. This time, Terra had nothing else to say - in fact, he retreated from the elite collector, taking a short distance away and beside Shiva. Right now.....he didn't want to be around them right now. Not because their vow offended him, but because he felt horrible rejecting it, and wanted to spare him his presence for the time being. Surprisingly thoughtful of him.....but then again, he's been improving in his social skills, and screwing the Poocheyena on them was so familiar to him he had the motions of 'fixing' it the way he knew how.


....Oh dear. This ain't a good development. Especially now of all times.

Nathan's arrival is meet by a firm but welcoming nod from Terra, and the news Marco got FLY from them never brought a smile to his face as he readily concented to teaching all the Pokemon he though could learn it: Genie and Angie. Both Dragon were thrilled learning yet another HM, but each in their own ways. The Dragonfly Princess seemed to bask in the POWER of the enhanced flight granted by the True Hidden Machine, a mischevious smirk plastered across her face as she thought of all sorts of new tricks she could pull off with it.......such as instantly zipping over to conjure a bucket's load of sand right over Nathan and back to her former position in less than a second, smiling oh so innocently as the boy soon got a nice expoliation. The urge to laugh was immense, but she resisted it. No, she'd savor this trick in satisfying silence, for she had AT LAST got her revenge on the irksome little boy. May this be a merciful lesson to never demean her like he did ever again. Otherwise, she'll have to get more creative with her punishments....~

Angie, meanwhile, was plain and simply childishly OVERJOYED, so much so she somehow managed to scoop both her papa and Nate Drake up in a hug and nuzzled them with pure, innocent affection. For Genie, learning FLY was just a excellent tool in her arsenal of tricks and traps, but for the supreme seraph serpent, a true Flying Type that Evolved due to her desires to one day truly soar through the skies......it was a BIG dream come true. Suffice to say, she was one VERY happy Dragon, and she wanted to share her good Grace with all! To the point of being a detriment, really - it took a lot of convincing from Terra to get her to let them go and retreat back underground (no matter how much enjoyed her cuddles, he was on a mission he couldn't involve her in), but thankfully neither man were really harmed by her it all, with only their clothing suffering some ruffling from the exchange.

In addition to his Dragons, Terra also tried to see if Arete could learn FLY, out of sheer curiosity if they could and a weird gut feeling he had. Whether or not it would work as she is now.....

Finally, the sagely monk nodded to the scholarly trainer's query, quickly outlining all the supplies he bought as well as the team he was bring to the battle:

"Wait." Before Terra could somehow run away or something else he heard Heart talk with him...he was with a strange mix of feelings, but when Terra see him, he could only a acceptance smile...a bit sad, but at the same time a acceptance one...like he imagine Terra would refuse.

"I understand my friend. *Sigh* I the one who should apologize. Ask such thing, in the moment of our final battle, this was not the best time in say such things. I imagine if there was a time to ask such thing...But I understand and respect your decision."

"But, can you blame me for trying? If something happens, I don't want to have regrets. I still consider you a great friend Terra, no matter what. Refusing or accept don't change that in any way."

He gave Terra a punch in his shoulder. "So, cheer up big guy. I not bad or anything. I actually relief you are been honest with me, and thank you for that again. Just don't die okay? I still want to fight you when this all over. Gustav is inching to fight Lovely. He wants to see who among them is the best Water-type."
