[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

I wouldn't automatically assume Screech will even work against the Prime.  If I had to hypothesize based on what we've seen and heard so far, they probably have several, if not all, of the traits of the clones combined, regardless of the forme they take.  The Defense Forme Clones were immune to all debuffs that weren't at least partially Plot Deviced.

Deoxys Prime, unlike the clones, is 100% Legendary.  It'll almost certainly take more than a normal attack to do anything of any value to it in any capacity.

Nah, instead of trying to debuff Deoxys Prime, buffing on our side feels more efficient, since Cosh can move those around with the Hauberk and we don't know whether Deoxys Prime can be debuffed in the first place.

I wanted to bring up a Prankster-Tailwind for our side indeed, just need to figure out who to send out alongside Whimsi.

Hmm then I have a new plan. I have over 100 on Doublade now. I could unlock the bonus of +2 damage and +2 defense to give us another mon to help us in the fight. Heart will might be a target, but hey, we kinda already taking risks here fighting against Deoxys Prime. I can set Wide Guard as much times I can and then summon Gustav and Honckrow to deliver dark type moves since both have dark type boost items, and one of them have a spread Dark Pulse. Quetzal and Percival is also options to bring up, since they resist psychic and can cause Flinch in Deoxys Prime, or at least in the clones we fight
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

That '3rd mon' trick only works if Heart isn't issuing Doublade orders if I'm understanding that correctly.  And against a Legendary, trying to directly fight it is just asking for trouble, methinks.  If Heart goes down, then we lose control of all of his pokemon, too.

Remember that Wide Guard also doesn't reduce PD damage at all.

Okay, Iron... I've got a question about that manoeuver Terra tried to pull off with Rage Powder, indicated here:
Quote:(...)Arete will be cleaning up the Defense Forms and then Attack with Fury Cutter, and I'll have Dunny use Rage Powder and have him try to lead the Attack Form on a merry chase doing his best to Evade their Attacks (Or ideally have the Shield on them), and maybe try and see if he can't bait them into attacking the Defense Forms by positioning himself around them. Friendly fire could be a thing we can exploit, after all!(...)

And here:
Quote:Rage Powder 1
(4)(6)(4)(5)(2)(2) (6)(4)(1)
There's a hummmm and Attack Deoxys appears in front of the little ghost, neither showing any fear.
Trying to bait Deoxys into hitting a Defense clone is a BRILLIANT idea but Terra doesn't have enough Insight to pull it off.

I kinda want to try this out if it's possible, you see. Thing is, is Shiva with her 6 points in Insight able to pull that act off believably, how high are the chances that she'll succeed, will you roll to determine success or failure? Can the Clones and Prime Deoxys be fooled like that at all? And how would it look like in the order of Actions, Rage Powder --> Clone A attacks ---> Target attempts to evade and if successful, Clone B or even Prime will be hit by Clone A's attack? It doesn't need an Extra Action or such to get close enough to Clone B/Prime to have them within range of Clone A's attack, does it?

EDIT: What's with Marco also, will he participate in this fight with us as well?

I'm about 99.9% confident that he is.  Deoxys made this personal, after all.

Weird question, @Iron, but could a pseudo STABed move from a Surprise like Meowstic's be powered up by the Sword?

No, it has to be real STAB.

Marco will definitely be involved, but I'm not sure yet what I can do with him that will actually be mechanically helpful. He's certainly capable of helping with the clones a bit, or buffing your team, or simply being ready to heal. If you want to buff his mons with the Sword, he can send out whichever mon is most helpful.

Shiva has plenty of insight to pull off a trick like that. You know Rage Powder works on clones. Hasn't been tested on Prime yet. Speed Deoxys outspeeds all priority except the Helm. Attack Deoxys rolled a natural 5 on initiative so it'll probably go after Nathan, chances are.
It won't take any extra unusual actions or Shiva-rolls, just an Evasion.

Hmm, I have a better plan. I been doing a few calculations and discover the fact that Quetzal Iron has more damage than Crunch. 11D6 to be more precise in his Mega Form. I could also unlock Bounce to make him immune to certain damage since the move make use fly to the sky.

What bring a question @Iron, what is the base power of Fly and it's full effects? Along with the fact of make a Pokemon Fly outside of battles.

I'll answer this since Iron already did so when we got the HM originally.  It's similar to standard Fly, but has two key differences:
- It's a 5 Power move
- It's still a Charge move with a semi-invulnerable state, but you can optionally spend two actions charging it to make yourself a hard to hit target for longer.  (i.e. the move can be Charged for either one or two actions at your discretion)

As the move is a Flying type move, however, I don't expect it will do much to Deoxys Prime without the Sword.
