[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
Boarder Round 1

Kee doesn't immediately know what Anderind's ability is because it was already hailing in the first place, as it always is on this Route unless there are outside factors involved.

Not that the hail does anything in the first place while Golduck's on the battlefield, thanks to Cloud Nine.  Oh well.

The boarder blinks in surprise at Kee's elightening statement.  "Wait, really?  This isn't a totally new species of pokemon?  Man, that's like, a total bummer...well, they're still a totally awesome species, at least!  What they're capable of will totally blow you away, dude!"

Anderind skids atop the snow, completely unaffected by the dexterity drop thanks entirely to his snowboard-like tail, having too much fun with its hobby despite the battle going on (similar to Core).  Golduck, meanwhile, takes it a little slower (similar to Kee's pokemon), giving Aya the stink eye all the while (and Aya returns the snooty gaze).

Anderind's skating around the battlefield so quickly, he's able to protect Golduck from incoming attacks!

Wide Guard 1
9 base - 2 = 7
(6)(2)(1)(4)(3)(2)(3)
Dave's side of the battlefield was protected!  Not that it matters when Kee's pokemon aren't attacking right away. Tongue

Golduck still tries to take advantage of this opportunity to attack his rival, however!

Zen Headbutt 1
8* base - 2 = 6
(5)(4)(1)(5)(3)(4)
3 Str + 3 Pow - 3 = 3
(6)(3)(6) Aya takes 2 damage 7/9 HP -1 Pain
(5)(2)(3)

Core's hardcore vibes soon dominate the battlefield, though, becoming louder than the snowstorm.  Golduck raises its hands to its head to try and block out the sound.

Metal Sound 1
(4)(2)(1)(6)(2)(5)(1)(3)(1)
Golduck's Sp. Def is decreased by 2!

A soothing, pink mist covers Kee's side of the battlefield.  It smells like the ocean tide.  Core loves this scent, because it reminds him of home back in Bealbeach.

Aromatic Mist 1
(5)(5)(3)(6)(2)(4)(4)(5)(3)
+1 Def and Sp Def for Core

Anderind suddenly jumps and slams into the deep snow, causing a seismic shockwave that creates rolling waves of the white, fluffy stuff!  Golduck's unfortunate enough to get caught in the blast radius along with Kee's pokemon.  It also covers both Kee and Dave in even more snow.  Dave has to spend an action cleaning the snow off of his goggles, as it's preventing him from watching the battle.

Magnitude (5) 2
8 base - 4 = 4
(6)(4)(2)(2)
4 Str + 5 Pow + STAB - 3/4 = 7/6 D6
(5)(5)(1)(3)(6)(5), (3)
Core takes 4 damage! 3/7 HP -2 Pain
Aya takes 4 damage! 3/9 HP -2 Pain
Golduck takes 4 damage! 4/8 HP -2 Pain

Once Golduck finds its feet again, it tries to do significant damage to the pokemon that very nearly damaged its hearing, quacking angrily.

Aqua Tail 2
8* - 4 - 2 pain - 1 acc = 1
(5)
3 + 3 + STAB - 4 = 3
(5)(3)(6) Core takes 2 damage! 1/7 HP -3 Pain
(6)(2)(1) Core Flinches 2!

Core might be reeling from that Golduck's attack, but Aya certainly isn't!  The snow begins to swirl around her, melting and becoming water as she begins to sing a sweet serenade to put her opponents to sleep...

Sparkling Aria 2
(6)(1)(1) +1 Will, which saves the accuracy roll!  Spend that Will Point!
11 base - 3/1* = 8/10 D6 (+1 on Anderind, -1 on Golduck)
(5)(4)(4)(5)(3)(5)(3)(4), (4)(4)
Golduck takes 7 damage and faints!
Anderind takes 7 damage and faints!

As the snowboarder's pokemon both faint from the Torrential assault, causing big, puffy, snowy explosions as they collapse into unconsciousness, the snowstorm starts to pick up again.  It's kinda hard to see the two comatose pokemon in the deep snow.

Having finally cleaned his goggles off, Dave's left blinking in surprise again.  "Huh?  What just happened, dude?  Where'd my pokemon go?"

Kee defeated Snowboarder Dave!

Wingull Round 2

Amethyst doesn't have to be asked twice to do everything she can to stop this Thunderstorm!  No disobedience check!  She tries to jump at that small bird and catch one of its wings in her mouth to get it out of the sky!

Bite 1
(2)(2)(2)(2)(2)(3)(2)(5)(6)(5)
(6)(4)(3) Wingull takes 2 damage! 1/5 HP -3 Pain
(2)(1)(4)

Wingull is dragged out of the sky and sent crashing into the snow.  It stands, shakes the snow off of its wings, and screeches at the scary feline that brought it down.  And with another flap of its electrified wings, it sends another electrical current at its foe!

Thunder Wave 1
9 base - 2 - 3 = 4
(5)(5)(1)(4)
Amethyst was Paralyzed!

Randolph has his chance now, though.  Great Ball in hand, one good throw is all that could be needed to end this now!  Unfortunately, the snow makes it kinda hard to throw straight since the lack of mobility throws off a person's aim if they aren't particularly dexterous/skilled.

Great Ball 1
1* + 1 + 1 - 2 Act = 1
(5) The pokeball connects despite how difficult the throw was, and Wingull is sucked inside.  But will it stay there, or will it have to be fainted?

Wingull has 6 Will, -3 Pain.  3 dice to resist.  Pressure won't have an effect on captures since the pokemon technically isn't in the Pressure user's immediate presence while in the pokeball.

With the discoveries he nod his head and thanks each of his Pokemon, including giving a pat in the head of the little Ed. "Excelent job everyone. We find a awesome bunch of items. Kogeki approach Izanami and show her the Focus Blast. "This thing will help increase your mood. You lack in some counter moves against Dark Types, so Focus Blast could be a nice adition to your movepool. What you think girl? Feel on a better mood? Lets return and wait for the others to come. I brush your feathers until they return. I know how much you love have your feathers be brush."

Ooh, yes, Nami loves to be buttered up and pampered, particularly if it means she also gets a tool to help her fight her worst nightmare: Dark types.  +1 Happiness for her.

Huuuh, even if it's no totally new species of Pokemon, watching a real Anderind in action is quite the view. It pretty obviously seems to enjoy the current scenario with all the deep snow, hailstones and icy wind. Kee's quiet fascination for the snowboarder-bear only lasts for so long until they shower him in another wave of snow when he just got most of it off his cloathes. How many times will he get much closer than he'd wish for to this powdery white stuff before there'll be that rest-stop again?

Just like Dave Kee has to take off his rimless glasses and clean them off the snow, but this doesn't prevent him from giving Anderind a very sarcastic glance of thanks nor his Pokemon from fighting back. Aya appears rather pleased as Core steps back from taking a good smack from that Golduck, given that now she's really the center of attention: She's singing with her everything as being encouraged too, looking proud and graceful over the realization that her performing was THAT stunning that it knocked those foes out cold. That was a spectacular show she gave today, oh yes it was! ~☆

Kee's the one that (from Aya's viewpoint) catches himself from that amazed stupor first and applauds her, causing her to bow in a graceful and smooth movement. "Well done, truely well done, my dear! Successfully retrived your show and eliminated those who'd disturb it, ya very neatly outdid 'em. Hehehe! ~♡" She lets Kee adjust her fine scarf and with a sweet charming smile accepts an extra-portion of honey-and-sage drops. "You'll get a warm drink later, when we're resting somewhere indoors." Core's still standing, just barely, he's enjoying and soaking up the lovely-smelling mist. Back to leisure he goes.

Now towards Dave, Kee's coming as close until he's directly by his side. He's hiding a sly smile. ( ÒωÓ)✧ "Oh, ya're asking where your 'Mon are... Well, they, may the Tapu's have mercy with 'em, couldn't bear my pretty Primarina's performance and decided to take some hide in the snow. Poor one's will be snowed in in no time with such weather... WHY DON'T YA JOIN 'EM?!" That's the moment Kee's giving the Snowboarder a light push by the soulder to the side to knock him off-balance, but he ends up getting caught in the movement and trips, causing them both to fall face-first into the deep snow. Kee's not very pleased by that in the first moment, but then falls into some joyous laughter. Now they're laying there in the snow, looking like they've been folling around on a happy snowday. (◕‿◕) "Hahahaha! Eh, seriously though, good battle... Shame it came to an end that quickly. Where did ya caught that bear-snowboarder though, around here?"

Ran tensed as his Great Ball wobbled portentously in the snow, his throwing hand bunched up into a fist as he eyed it like it was an ornery Ekans.....until the sweet sound of a successful Capture resounded throughout the field. It was only then did he relax and let out an almost explosive *Sigh* of relief, before he walked over and snatched up his newest partner's  Ball up and peered at it with a satisfied smirk.

"Delta Wingull, Sie sind jetzt in meinem Stromnetz. Und durch Funken und Kabel werden wir durch ALLES, was uns widersteht, Strom geben!"
Translation: Delta Wingull, you're on my electric grid now. And by spark and cable we'll power through ANYTHING that resists us!

With that said and a chuckle, he sends them off to his PC to get healed (along with Stymph, replacing her with his Salandit Kee so thoughtful surprised him with), and paced over to Amethyst to treat her Paralysis with a Paralyze Heal and pat her on the head.

"*Heals Amethyst* There we go. You should be all better now. *Proudly* And nicely done, Amethyst. Told ya that it'd be sweet and easy, for a fine hunter like yourself. Feeling good now, girl?"

He'd await her response, before patting the doom bringer one last time and walked away, motioning for her to follow after him.

"Well, let's get on back to the group and the rest stop, 'fore the other nasty Weather 'round here turns us into mummies. Keep ya eyes and senses sharp for trouble and that lady's 'friend' too, lest they take us unawares when we don't want them to...."

Boarder Dave laughs too after both he and Kee fall in the snow.  And he continues chuckling as Kee asks about where he caught the Anderind.  "Oh yeah, I totally caught them on the slopes of Mt. Coronet.  Like, seriously, I've been seeing all kinds of weird pokemon around here lately.  Maybe that has something to do with this completely rad blizzard?  Oh, yeah, and before I forget, I guess I owe ya some green, don't I?"

Dave digs through his pockets and gives Kee $1000 for winning the battle.  Core, Aya, and Kee all get 4 exp.

--------------------------------------

Amethyst shakes her body like a dog as she tries to keep the snow out of her fur.  She looks Ran in the eyes, her own purple peepers shining amid all the white.  She looks much more relaxed now.  And is that a small smile? +1 Happiness for Amethyst.

--------------------------------------------

Karen comes back with the Delibird that was scrounging around in the snow earlier in her arms and a smile on her face.  "Look everyone, I made a new friend!  They're so warm and cuddly!  I think I could hug them for hours on end!"

She gives the Delibird a squeeze, and it hugs her back, seemingly making an honest effort to help her stay warm.

And it seems to be surprisingly effective, too.  Karen doesn't look to be feeling chilly at all now.

Karen got 3 exp from the Delibird encounter.

---------------------------------------------

And with that, everyone's encounters have been wrapped up!  The party regroups just in time to see the silhouette of a cabin through the blizzard and the upcoming treeline.  Lucas eagerly points it out.  "That's the rest stop!  We'll have to go through some tall grass to get there since there's no back door, but my party's still in good condition!  I'll hold off any wild pokemon that approach us while you guys make a beeline for the cabin.  Sound good to all of you?"

There's been no signs of whatever caused the blizzard so far. Whatever it is, it probably isn't around here.

Kogeki think for a few seconds about Lucas words then said. "Sounds like a plan to me. But let me bring a extra help in case we get a ambush. This place looks like a place for a ambush, and after be ambushed by Geodude, Flying Pokemon, Primal Rampardos, Sneasel, Snover, Unow, Sandslash and Primal Mega Abomasnow, I prefer have a minimum protection."

Kogeki then summon Izanami (In Cocancer form to not scary everyone) and Gama, who not lost time and get himself invisible thanks to his camouflage move. "That move do wonders in sneak attacks. Now we can go. A ninja always get prepared." He then look to his own cyber arm. "Well...most of the time at least." He then follow the path to rest after so many difficult battles.

WHOOOOOO free cash!~~ Kee's not going to say no to that, into his pocket it goes to spent on nice stuff or services later on. He too has a bit of a hard time to stop chuckling along with Dave, but the snowstorm's mercilessly blowing his cheer away soon as it reminds him on how F#CKING COLD it actual is; and now he's even covered in more snow. On the other hand, there's the smallest hidden smile on Kee as it's a totally new experience to him who has been living in warmer places ever where there's no real winter.

"*cough* Ah, so ya too are callin' this blizzard a particularly stronge one, do ya? Got it, got it..." *thoughtful and ominous experssion as he brushes some ice crystals outta his dark-blonde hair, but the hiddens smile's still there* "Well, it doesn't 'maybe' have somethin' to do with the increased number of strange 'n curious Pokemon 'round, it 'CERT'NLY' has. Too much strange occurances around, too much that it's a natural phenomena, I don't b'live in coincidences...." Having patted off most snow from his coat, Kee gives dave a compassionate pat on the back as a goodybe then. "Well, guess I gotta get goin' then or else I'll become vivid snowman at last - been great to heat up a lil' by fightin your treasured Pokemon, take good care of that special Anderind and may the slopes be free of stones to step over for ya; sayonara, goodbye and auf wiederseh'n, may our paths cross once again sometime!~" And off Kee and his own dear Pokemon are, eager to get back to the others.

Boooiiiii, THAT'S a sight that makes Kee's heart almost skip a beat, it's sheer and plain ADORABLE as heck. A bit of him wishes to go and hug Karen and her new Delibird right here and right now and protect those two from any cruelness of the world with his own life if necessary, but he immediately stops himself from giving in to that as it'd be weirda nd at worst creep her out. But he can't help but to smile suprisingly lovely and give Delibird a gentle pat on the head. "The cutest of friends you made there, aww!~~ Take good care of one another, will ya?~~♡"

*GAAASP*, the promised reststop's coming into view?! That's what Kee has been waiting for, that's the destination where warmth and comfort are waiting to be enjoyed, let'sa bee-line there as fast as we ccccaaaaannnnnn!~ "Sounds good, sounds prefect, get a move on, let's get going, MUST REACH THAT CABIN!!1!1!!!" Octavia would run in circles out of joy and delight if she woudn't be safe and sound within her Friend Ball right now.

Uhm, but that cabin... Does it look like it's occupied, how busy is it, are there people around? Does it look like a Healing Machine can be expected there...? Pleasepleaseplease let there be one.

Lucas politely declines Kogeki's assistance.  "I've got this.  I'm not Champion for nothing, after all.  Besides, you guys are starting to look a little worn out.  Least I can do is make sure we all get to the rest house safely."

Indeed, everyone in the group is starting to look a little tired, and it's beginning to get dark.  Lucas is looking a little Exhausted too, but he's also a seasoned adventurer, so it's not as readily apparent for him.

Lucas summons his Torterra and Togekiss, and the Champion gets to work on ushering everyone through the Tall Grass, fighting off any aggressive wild pokemon that dare come close.  Not even Ice types seem to faze Turk the Torterra, as he proceeds to tank blow after blow regardless of what type his opponent is and what moves they attempt to use.  Samuel the Togekiss, meanwhile, spends a lot of time redirecting other wild pokemon's attention, using a large variety of coverage moves to 'persuade' them to leave the group alone.

The wild pokemon don't seem to stop coming, but Lucas insists that everyone continue on and fights them off by himself while everybody else makes a run for the cabin.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The cabin itself is a simple place.  It's tidy, has a few spare rooms, and is run by a kind old man.  There's a sign out front that says 'Travelers are welcome to rest their feet here for a night.' The cabin's not very busy right now due to the lack of travelers on Route 216 caused by the blizzard. No healing machine, but the old man who runs the place doesn't need one, relying less on technology and more on his own natural talents.

Not much eventful happens between the final rush to the cabin and the time everyone takes to rest.

The old man who runs the place gives everyone a simple greeting, shows them where the spare rooms are, and gets to work on making some warm food.

Lucas shows up an hour and a half later after everyone else.  There were a lot of wild pokemon out there.  "I had a gut feeling there'd be too many for you guys to handle.  Something seems to be riling them up.  From the look of things, most of Route 216's wild pokemon are gathered around here.  Maybe it's due to whatever's causing this mysterious blizzard?  I'd bet that it is."

Everyone's able to get a full 8 hour rest at the cabin, and everyone is fully healed overnight.  The wild pokemon seem to be inclined to stay in the grass and leave the cabin alone, and the blizzard continues to make a racket outside of the cabin the entire night.

--------------------------------------------------------------

It is now Day 4.  Reminder that everyone gets a daily will point and has to select their abilities for the day since it's been awhile.

And when everyone wakes up, it's dark outside.  The blizzard's still howling out there, and it doesn't look like the sun has risen yet.

The old man who keeps the grounds mostly minds his own business while everyone goes about their morning preparations.  Lucas gathers the group together for a brief meeting before they continue on their way.  "We don't know what's out there exactly.  Make sure you're prepared.  If you have any changes to make to your team, I'd do so now before we head out. This Route's normally pretty busy, but...well, I can't say I've ever seen this cabin so empty before. I'm surprised the groundskeeper is even still here."
