To re-interate for Dragonstrike's shake (since it's been awhile since I first posted it), here's Ran's general preparations for the day:
Quote:(...) He’d want to do a check up on Kogeki’s Cyborg Prosthetic to see how it was holding up, and ask both Amethyst (Well, reconfirm what see detected, in her case) and Catherine what their senses tell them of what’s to come. For Ran and his partner’s formation outdoors, he’ll have Amethyst and Belladona out on point to do their duty of pest control with their Abilities, while he’s riding Brigid behind them to keep himself nice and warm. The coal powered tortoise has 3 DEX (+ Shell Smash, if necessary) and has Drought/Heat Wave/INFERNO to clear her path of snow, so she’s and her master were hardly going to lag behind the rest of the group!
---------‐----------------------------------
To Lucas: "Then let's get going, lad. As I keep saying, the less time it takes for us to get to the top of this terrible mystery we're embroiled in, the better off we'll be."
-------------------------------------------
Before he could chip in his two cent about how the group should move forward, Amethyst's antsy warning and his Spell Tag acting up distract him, causing him waddle over (on Brigid) to the later and rest an hopefully comforting hand on her back, petting it soothingly as he could.
"There there girl, easy does it. Listen to me. Steady those nerves of yours and be calm. We all know nothing's good lurking up ahead, but we'll be extra careful and prepared now we know how bad it'll be now that ya warned us. Be Alert for danger or deadly premonitions creeping up on us, as always, but don't let it overwhelm ya and scramble your good sense. Be calm, and be in control of yourself. Alright?"
Hopefully the caring gesture and the heat tortoise's warm presence can ease the tension them, if only a little.
While that's happening, Ran would discretely (as he could) take out 'his' Spell Tag and tightly hold it in his grip, holding it up to his face and the out towards the paths ahead to see how it reacts. If it's starting to act up, that could only mean that old crone's friend is in the area, so he might as well see what it'll do out in the open...
After the Dark prophet as has calmed down, he'd get Catherine to double check/follow up on her ill omen for the Route ahead, and then ask the two which path is the safest for the group, and which one is the weirdest. Though not overly reliant on Pokemon for problem solving and guidance, this sort of thing is his girl's specialty, and he trusts their judgement and wants their advisement on this before he makes any choices himself. It's why he got an Absol in the first place for this job, after all (Besides just wanting one period)!
Oh, and Amethyst's Pressure will be used to make Encounters Harder too, and chase away any weaklings along with Belladona's Stench! That too!
- Lucas: "Agreed. Let's get this over and done with so the region doesn't have to worry about any further time distortions." Lucas has a grimly determined expression on his face as he remembers the last time something like this occurred...
- The prosthetic is working fine. No complications as of yet.
- Amethyst is too jittery to run off on her own. The fact that she can't pinpoint the exact cause of her concerns really has her on edge.
Empathy +1: (6)(6)(5)(1)(6*) 4 successes
Brigid's comforting heat and Randolph's reassurances go a long ways towards helping the Absol calm down a little. Amethyst slowly nods in response, still jittery, but noticeably reassured.
- Catherine has the same bad feeling that Amethyst does, but her Abilities aren't strong enough to pinpoint the exact cause right now either. She isn't sure either path is less dangerous/weird than the other.
- There's a *very* slight tug on the Spell Tag in the forward direction, towards the entrance to the caves of Mt. Coronet. Not enough to yank it out of Randolph's hands, but enough for him to notice. Oh, and the text on it is dimly glowing with a faint, slightly spooky light.

Ran breaths a sigh of relief as he sees and feels his ivory partner finding a certain measure of peace and security in his words, and gave her one last good rubbing between/on her shoulder(s). For her part, Brigid presses herself a little closer to her fellow partner, to better convey her caring presence and warmth to them.
"Good girl, Amethyst. Keep those nerves Steeled, and remember this: me and the rest of your partners has ya back through thick and thin, and you never have to face any trouble alone."
The midget man frowns as he studies his 'gifted' Spell Tag, not unsettled but also not pleased by the spooky reactions it giving off, before letting out a small *sigh* and putting it away, before turning back to the rest of the group after getting guidance from his galls.
"Welp, looks like the 'old lady's' friend is camping around the entrance to Coronet, so y'all best prepare yourself for some mischief and malice soon as we get there, unless you prefer to get Frozen in surprise when it creeps up on ya. *Shakes Head* My girls don't have a clear idea what either path holds for us, and I find the idea of us splinting up to be utterly asinine, as that's just Taunting fate and whatever is behind this Articuno awful situation to let us have it like a Mach Punch to the face, so I suppose I agree with the gist of Kee's suggestion. Might take us a bit longer getting to the mountain, but we don't have to worry about tripping up or getting Ambushed in that thick snowfield, and my girls Amethyst and Belladona can help drive off any scrawny little bastards and make the tougher ones think twice before deciding to mess with up. We're on a crunch to get this job done 'fore everything gets worse, but we'll make up for the lost time later once we're out of this Hail and into Coronet, my territory."
That's his two cents on the matter, so he's ready to get on moving whenever, riding on Brigid and having Belladona and Amethyst as his Vanguard/partners of deterrence! Before that, though, he would kindly request that Kee consider bringing out his Vulpix, so their own Drought powers could combine with his coal munching turtle's so that the Hail and Blizzard plaguing the Route might possibly diminish enough so it isn't a problem anymore. If they refuse, he'll be a bit grouchy about it, but with accept their decision with a "Bah!" and carry on.
(Since Me and Phantom have voted to go on the upper path, and Spirit has elected to do his own thing with Kogeki, I think that means the long way it is, unless you want Lucas and Karen to deadlock things!)

Oh, I accidently missed that - my bad, I'm sorry for that! (>_<; ) Eh, well; yes, Kee DOES bring out his smol Vulpix upon Ran asking, he's going to keep her gently wrapped up in her cozy blanket as well into his arms and encourages her with dear words and sweets snacks to put her everything into the Drought-Skill she has inherited from her noble and graceful Ninetales-mother.

Neither Lucas nor Karen have any problem with keeping the party together, so the long path it is!
------------------------------------------------------------
The power of two Drought users does indeed clear a small portion of the skies, temporarily ridding the party of their troubles with the blizzard!
Gama and Hime do a short scouting mission, and they return quickly but non worriedly. It doesn't seem like they found any immediate danger on the bridges.
Once the skies are cleared, a handful of wild pokemon peek out of their hiding places in the rocks and tall grass. Looks like there's some rare ones, too! However, most of them seem to be rather shy or scared, and only the most bold ones dare to even attempt to peek at Randolph and his repellent pokemon. The more common, weaker pokemon appear to be ones that are native to Sinnoh as well, unlike the other critters currently coming out of their hidey holes.
1. Snopach
Difficulty: Moderate
Cap: 2
Note: Is lumbering around, mostly confused since it doesn't know why the blizzard suddenly stopped.
2. Drampa
Difficulty: Hard
Cap: 2
Note: Is looking at Stella curiously from its perch on a cliff.
3. Larvesta
Difficulty: Moderate
Cap: 2
Note: Hard to see in the snow due to its white coloration! But that's the only reason it might fit in here, really.
4. Alpico*
Difficulty: Tough
Cap: 2
Note: Was skiing on the lower slopes of the mountain and has currently come to a stop at the edge of the clear weather to stare at the whole party curiously.
5. Excadrill*
Difficulty: Tough
Cap: 2
Note: Just burrowed out of the snow, and is eyeing the party warily.

Ran breathed a sigh of relief when the colourful musician agreed with his plan, pleased that neither he nor the rest of the group would be getting showed in Hail for the time being. Condition were terrible enough as is without everyone and their partners getting pelted by sharp and pointy ice!
He's also inwardly pleased/relieved that his deterrent duo of girls were doing a terrific job keeping the wild riff raff away for the most part as they traveled the upper path, though he doesn't let that ease him in the slightest. After all, 'for the most part' doesn't mean they warded off all of them tundric pests, as evident by the a scant few Tough and/or exotic looking critters popping up from the snow to carefully observe them as the Weather cleared.
Case in point, the bristly blacksmith spotted that peculiar Excadrill* watching him and his partners like a Hawlucha, and after deliberating what to do about it let out a small grunt and quietly spoke to everyone.
"If none of ya mind, I'll take care of the Excadrill* sizing us up. Don't want to chance that mole Digging the ground out beneath us in a Ambush later, and if I catch it maybe we can convince it to help us tunnel our way through to the top of Coronet. No promises, though."
If nobody has any objections, he'll prep himself for the fight by switching out Catherine for Zorn (Abilities and Item being Rough Skin and Rocky Helmet), and directing Brigid to cart him over to it and summon his scaled brute to do battle with it. It's been a little while since they had a chance to tear stuff up, and he still had a promise to them to keep, so what better way to fulfil both than sicc his Dragon on a species of Pokemon they normally prey/compete with?
(Waiting for Zorn's reaction and the Initiatives, if nobody objects to me taking this Encounter!)

Hooray, yay and yesss for Stella and Brigid making it to get rid of the blizzard, even if it may be just temporarly. One thing's for certain though, Kee's smol Vulpix is immediately showered with some extra-fond cuddles and thankful words from him for a job well done!~ "Your dear 'n graceful Ninetales-Mon would be so proud of you if she were to see ya now~~" *cue more sweet talk*
Quote:2. Drampa
Difficulty: Hard

Note: Is looking at Stella curiously from its perch on a cliff.
A few moments later Kee almost trips and falls forward into the snow as a FACE seems to, well, face his firerly fox from atop of a cliff. For a split second he mistakes it for someonelse and questions his sanity/wonders whether this place really isn't heaven or the afterlife, but then it turns out to be the face of a Pokemon. Of a Pokemon he's all too familiar with, though dafaque is THAT gentle giant doing here in Sinnoh??! Either the species has spread without science noticing, or it's connected to that anomalia surrounding Mount Coronet.
Well, whatever it may be, that dragon is staring at Stella. Quite curiously even. Not in the way an aggressive Pokemon about to attack would face an opponent - or do they? He hopefully hasn't done anything to agitate that dragon... Well, for now all Kee does is looking back to meet the dragon's glance, and also encourages Stelle to do so as well. " They're not goin' to attack us, dontcha hide into your blanket like that, dear one, look how gentle that dragon appear to be - RIGHT?" That was adressed to the dragon themselves. "Ya're not here to cause trouble for me, are ya? I am neither... Ya're wondering what's with the blizzard, or...?"

Upon the path, Kogeki notice two certain Pokemon. First, a Snopach from his home region. And second, a Alpico... and seems a odd one...
With that on mind, he approach Lucas and Karen. "I find something odd. Two to be more precise. That mini elephant over there?" He pointed towards Snopach. "It is a fossil Pokemon, Snopach. He doesn't exist anymore, so it makes me wonder why it is here. I gonna check him and maybe ask him join my party. With such rare Ice type could help us pass thought the storm."
"Also, the Pokemon in the mountain is a Alpico, a Ice fairy, from my region again. He looks...stra strange somehow, so can I ask you too to check him? If you could convince him to join me in peace or capture, I would be happy and very grateful. I will compensate you two for that somehow don't worry."
With that said, if they accept, Kogeki begin his approach to the mammoth Pokemon.
