[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
(02-28-2020, 04:58 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote:

Ran doesn't have chance to react to seeing Byron, to think about what is so unexpectedly strange about the Gym Leader, or even to his alarm with their sudden presence. No, he had didn't have any time or attention for such things, for the moment he saw it , his mind went blank and a terrible shiver wracked his petite form. There it was, oh by Heatran molten fury, there it was. Black Onix that ruined his, and so many other lives that dark, horrible day, so long ago. Here it was, causing turmoil and wrecking havok with another of its ilk and that marvelous, trechorous titan that was the Blue Steelix, no doubt kin to it too.

For a brief moment, Randolph was paralyzed by this sight, this scene beyond his worst nightmares. So long had he awaited the day he could confront that jet black demon and get his vengeance upon it for all the good, decent, hard working lives it took, but now that it here, just scant paces away, his goal and target seemed impossibly daunting, formidable, and terrifying. What could he, a barely moderately skilled Trainer, do against that beast, let alone two more of them. What could a man like him do.

Then Bryon and his Excadrill got blasted back by the trio of carbon rich snakes, and the answer suddenly became clear to him.

He would save the best damn friend he ever had, and vanquish those fucking monsters.

A cold, ice cold feeling of pristine RAGE befitting a vexed Frosslass filled Randolph, as he ceased his shivering and stood up straight, his eyes now more hard and unforgiving than that diamonized Blue Steelix as he calmly gazed at them, seemingly not paying attention to Lucas (or Kogeki, for that matter) as he charges off towards the rocky snake trio. RAGE, injustice, and a overwhelming sense of responsibility flood into him as he suddenly bursts forward towards Byron until he's right in front of them, a hand deftly reaching down to pluck off Paula's Pokeball and summon her before him in one swift gesture in front of himself, providing a double line of protection for the bruised Leader.

"Alman, we're here to save your scrawny arse. Three of these beasts are too much for even you to handle, so can it with the warnings and let us help ya, or I swear I'll fix that hard head of yours out later with me pickaxe."

Randolph is cool and composed as he said this to Bryon, with just hints of the fury seething away within him present in his tone, not looking away from the Black Onix and Blue Steelix that has caused so much harm to the ones he cared about. As he promised to himself before, recently and ages ago, it wouldn't get away with its crimes ever again. It all ends now.

Paula.....well, I imagine she's gotten used to facing Pokemon exponentially more huge than she is, but I bet she's not too confidant facing down three super-gigantic snakes, no matter the Type Advantage she may or may not have! Never the less, she takes a shaky but firm stance against her enemies, a cute outrage appearing on her delicate little face. She won't let them harm to her Master, and she'll wash them aware before they get the chance!

Paula will be Randolph Pokemon of choice in this Fight, until further notice. Let the battle begin.

Espeon is 100% guarding Rui in this scenario.  He won't let those Dragons get anywhere near her if he can help it. Rui's watching what happens very, very carefully from her position in the back. She may not be a trainer, but she is fairly observant.

Karen takes a few deep breaths and reaches for her pokeballs, muttering under her breath.  "...don't grab the wrong ones this time, Karen..."  Two bright flashes of light later, and her Gastrodon and Nidoqueen both appear, ready to battle!

"I don't think those Dratini are going to leave us alone...they're swimming in some kind of formation..."

Octavia: (3) + 7 + 2 = 12

When Randolph steps in front of Byron, the Diamond Steelix looks him dead in the eyes, their piercing, red gaze seeming to burn with an intense desire to destroy.  And the effect is almost hypnotic and contagious.  Randolph has to force himself to look away from those eyes, lest they burn away at his very sense of self.  Were it not for his incredible bravery in standing up to the beast to save Byron, he might not have been able to look away at all.

The massive, crystalline snake radiates power far beyond that of an ordinary pokemon.  It doesn't seem to be quite as powerful as a Legendary pokemon, but the feeling is similar to what Randolph felt when standing in the presence of the Lake Trio.  This is a being that could crush him in an instant if given the chance.

But Randolph isn't an ordinary trainer.  Not any more.  Not with so much at stake.  He can feel the power of the Azure Flute and Flame Plate pulsing in his bag, encouraging him to push his very limits.  He can do this.

Byron doesn't quite know what to say to what just happened.  For multiple reasons.  "...Alman?  Er...ah, damn, fine, whatever!  If you're going to stand your ground against this beast, then I guess it doesn't matter what you call me!  Let's just beat this thing into the dirt and keep everyone safe!"  With those words, he promptly summons his Bronzong!  "Looks like collapsing the chamber on top of them is out of the question now, so I guess we're doing this the old fashioned way!"

Odd, but there'll be time to consider what Byron said later!

Lucas summon his Vaporeon, Melissa!  "A few Water moves should wash them right up!  Byron, mind setting up some Rain for us?"

"Are you out of your mind?!  We're in a cave, for crying out loud!"

"Trust me!"

"Bah, fine!  Guess you are out of your mind, given that you charged in to help instead of running like I told you to..."

Diamond Steelix Round 1 Initiatives
D-Steelix: (5) + 14 = 19
Nami: (6) + 9 + 2 = 17 (currently disguised as Milotic, though it doesn't seem to have an effect on the rock snakes)
Coal Onix B: (6) + 9 = 15
Melissa: (6) + 8 = 14
Coal Onix A: (4) + 9 = 13 (this is the one with the chipped horn)
Paula: (4) + 9 = 13
Bronzong: (2) + 6 = 8

Byron tsks when he sees just how ludicrously fast this Steelix is, then offers some quick advice to everyone.  "There's no way we're going to outpace this damn snake, but we can't afford to let it move first every single time!  I'm going to flip everything on its head with a Trick Room!  Plan your orders accordingly!  Take out the Onix first, and we should be able to summon more pokemon to fight this living crystal!  And DO NOT use Fire type moves unless you want this whole damn room to go up in flame!  You handle the offense, and I'll run support for now!"

Omph
. Yes, Ran can indeed feel The Diamond Steelix's caustic gaze and near Legendary presence, even after he pulls his own away from their's, but he won't let it deter him from standing his ground against it. Too much is at stake for him to falter and fail now, and by his hammer, anvil and forge he will take this sonnovabitch and its ilk down!

Byron's reaction to his little declaration raises all sorts of alarm bells within the midget miner as his expression turns very briefly surprised before it firms up again as refocuses on the carbon rich titans as he quickly nods, still not looking away from everyone's foes. Figure out why your best friend doesn't recognize you (and Lucas!) later, deal with that abominable Steelix and its evil kin now.

Randolph has a similar reaction to the Steel tough Leader at Lucas' plans to start a fricking rainstorm in an enclosed and fragile (relatively speaking) cave with, barking out an baffled and alarm reply of "Kyorges große Sintflut , you trying to drown us!? Or cause structural failure of this here cavern via rapid water erosion, you mad lad?!" He does ultimately concede to the boy hero, though, grumbling "What is he thinking? Bah....."  and thinking to himself 'The Steelix and those damn Onix may get us long 'fore the Rain does if it goes on for too long, but that doesn make it any less of a boneheaded idea!' as he readies to issue commands to his dear sea sprite!

Almam's? recommendedcourse of action, on the other hand, gets a much more positive reception from Randolph, as he firmly nods back to them.

"Roger than, Alman! Everyone, I'll have my Paula put one of them Onix to Sleep with her Sing, then have her unleash a Surf and Bubble on the whole lot of them goddamn monsters! Kogeki, if that Milotic (Ran knows it isn't, since its with Rui, but he's not going to give up their game) knows any Sleep Moves, then I strongly recommend you get them to put the faster looking Onix or that Diamond Steelix to Sleep! Lucas, I got no ideas what you can do with that undine of yours besides healing, but whatever you two decide upon doing better be excellent!"

"*Shakes head* Alright, enough blabbing! Let's get to work on these bastards!

Orders: Alright, no small talk from me! Paula will first use a Conditional Will Pointed Sing on Onix B if Kogeki can get Nami to put Onix A to Sleep with Nami ( or on Onix A if Nami can't/won't do that), then utterly drench them snakes with Surf and Bubble. She'll get a Potion if she loses 3 HP or more, and if her Sing Target disappears underground before she can use the Move/shield themselves somehow (IE: They Dig or something), she'll instead set up a Conditional Will Pointed Lucky Chant instead. That's all, so let's dive into the thick of it!!

Moves:

Sing
Accuracy: Cute (*4) + Contest (3) + Perform (3) - 5 Accu. - 2 Actions = 3D6 Base Dice
Effect: Known!
Note: Lucky Chant has an Base Dice Pool of 7D6 Dice

Surf
Accuracy: 9D6 Base Pool  - 4 Actions = 5D6 Base Dice
Damage: SPE (3) + 3 + STAB = 7D6 Base Damage (Don't know if its SE on the Onix/Steelix or not, no if Rain support and etc. will actually come)
Effect: AoE (Not sure how much Damage it'll do to Nami and Brozong, but it won't hurt Melissa if she has Water Absorb)

Bubble
Accuracy: 3D6 Base Dice
Damage: 6D6 Base Damage
Effect: Spread, *Lower Defense 1 [1]*

Kogeki heard the orders loud and clear. "Understood Byron. I will set up some defenses first. I get the feeling this gonna be one hell of a battle."

Kogeki also heard Rans strategy orders. "Alright! Leave that serpent to us.'' Nami perks up her tail, showing her determination to put those serpents into deep sleep.

Shadow Dragonair Round 1 Initatives

Dragonair: (5) + 10 = 15

Octavia: (3) + 7 + 2 = 12
Dratini x5: (3) + 8 = 11
Nidoqueen: (1) + 8 = 9
Aspid: (3) + 6 = 9
Astoria: (1) + 7 = 8

As long as Rui's safe, sound and guarded by this special Espeon, Kee's going to be fine and delighted and focus most of his attention on the horde of dragons ahead - 'most' instead of 'all' since he prefers to leave a backdoor open and switch to protecting her shall all else fail. He's a man who keeps his word and SO HE WILL !!1!1!

When Karen summoned her nice big Nidoqueen, Kee gives her a worried glance and opts to issue a warning: "Karen-dear, be mindful 'bout those dragon possibly knowin' how to sweep your poisonous queen by 'ngulfing themselves or their tail in water, 'kay? 'Kay!"

And upon Rui voicing her feeling that the batch of Dratini won't just stay there and observe things, he gives them a serious and determined glance, and Octavia chosses to hiss at them AS WELL. "Ohoooo, so ya want some too, smol 'n nice Dratini, huh? Well then COME 'N GET SOME, but dontcha whine 'bout me bein' the aggressor...~ Anywae, Karen, Scizor, do as ya wish but I'm gonna concentrate on knockin' out Dagonair FIRST!"

Kee's going to gamble that these dragons know more physical than special moves and lets his faeeveelution go directly info offensive mode instead of summoning a sparkling Light Screen.
"Let 'em see stars my dearest and go robbin' Dragonair of their vigor in tha most flirty way possible; though be mindful 'bout 'em summoning 'nother tornado an' disarm 'em with yar voice in case, also react 'corrdingly shall they boost 'emselves!~" And now for his precious Absol's debut: "Dontcha fear that shadowy dragon Astoria, if ya listen to mah voice and make good use of all those nasty tricks ya know we'll get throught this nice 'n smoothly !~~ Taunt that dragon, use their rage 'GAINST 'em, then protect yarself from this rage! Got it?~~ Good, I'm countin' on ya!!~"

What he also asks his two battlers to do but doesn't say aloud and instead shows them via gestures, is seeking cover from Dragonair's and Dratini's attacks behind the stalagmites in this cave. Both a Sylveon and an Absol are relatively small, so I hope they grant Full cover?

Furthermore, A Super Potion is reserved for both shall they fall to 2 or 1HP.

Shadow Dragonair Round 1

Dragonair begins pulling shadows from every corner of the room as its black aura flares into existence.  Frightening shapes of all kinds emerge from the darkness, grasping at Dragonair's prey, all while the Dragon's red gaze stares at them with violent intent.  Those affected by the move can't help but begin to panic, twisting and turning in every direction as they try to fend off the darkness approaching them.

Octavia, Scizor, Aspid, and Nidoqueen became Confused!

Scizor pulls the Totter Orb out of his bag and holds it aloft!  It begins to glow with a strange light, banishing the shadows!

...and then Scizor crushes it with his claw, blasting the Dragons with a wave of energy that dazes them all in one move!

Octavia follows Kee's orders to the letter.  Kee tosses her a small bell that she playfully bats around, and its ringing echoes around the cavern, bringing everyone besides the Dragons back to their senses.

Octavia and her allies are no longer statused!

The Dratini all whip up mini Twisters of their own.  Individually, they mean very little.  Together, they create a perfect storm that tears through the opposition almost effortlessly!  Each one targets three random pokemon in the party.

Following Kee's lead, everyone is currently hiding behind a stalactite, which provides half cover from the Twisters.  It can't fully nullify the damage in this case, however, as the winds strike their targets from all sides.

The stalagmites everyone was hiding behind are destroyed by the gale, their pieces scattered across the whole room by the sheer force of the wind.  Those rocks seem to be incredibly fragile...

By some freak twist of luck, Octavia isn't hit a single time by the buffeting winds, unfortunately for everyone else.  Aspid, who's rather...displeased with that outcome, decides to whip up some winds of his own!  Freezing cold ones!

Astoria is a little surprised by the sudden nickname, but she nods and follows orders, however reluctantly.  She's not sure if this plan will work, but she supposes it's worth a shot.  She's also a bit of a trickster, so these orders are right up her alley.

Astoria immediately follows up the Taunt with more tricksy gestures meant to mess with her target's expectations.

Given how effective Shadow moves have constantly been throughout this whole journey, Kee's probably surprised the attack had significantly less of an effect on Dragonair than it did on the Dratini.  He's just learned that Shadow moves are Not Very Effective against Shadow Pokemon, but Super Effective against all others.  It's similar to Nuclear type moves, but not quite as devastating.

Mere moments later, the Shadow Dragonair performs the exact same move, striking all 4 of the pokemon currently standing against it with a tornado of dark energy.

Dragonair then suddenly begins to rapidly shed its skin.  It shakes itself out of its daze, leaving the old skin floating on the surface of the water.

If the Cover still existed, then Octavia would have had to come out from behind it to attack with this next move.  Regardless, she approaches the edge of the water to give the Dragonair a big, friendly hug with her ribbons!  No harm meant here, right?

Nope!  Psych!

(4)(2)(2) One of the Dratini is no longer Confused.

Dragonair is furious, staring angrily at Octavia and Kee in particular.

Rui calls for Scizor to retreat and looks uncertainly at both the pokeball containing Milotic and Milotic, unsure who she should ask to fight next.

Karen gasps when each of her pokemon faint to the Dragons' onslaught, recalling them into their pokeballs and scrambling to pick out two more.  "No no no...that didn't go how I wanted it to at all...!"

Diamond Steelix Round 1

Steelix bellows, and Randolph gets a glimpse of the true reason the pokemon holds such violent intent.

A black aura flare to life around the giant, crystal snake, and the sparkle of its hide dims.  All that remains of that light is a dull glimmer amid the shadows that now surround the Steelix.

The two Coal Onix both roar in response to Steelix's cry.  They seem to be following orders, or are being manipulated by the Steelix if the power of that gaze was any indication.

Randolph doesn't have long to consider what that might mean though, as the Diamond Steelix quickly burrows into the ceiling of the room, leaving a trail of dull diamond dust in its wake...

...only to immediately come crashing down on Byron's Bronzong from above in one of the most brutal, reckless attacks that the trainers present have ever seen.  Steelix rams the bell pokemon with its entire shadow covered body weight, an attack that would almost surely harm the attacker just as much as the target, but the Steelix comes out of it completely unscathed.

Paula sings a soothing song, hoping to calm the raging beast.  She may have only just met Randolph, but after seeing how he leaped to defend what sounds like a close friend of his, she's confident she's in safe hands, the Soothe Bell she's holding ringing softly as she thinks about everything that's happened and what it means.  She gains +1 Happiness and Loyalty and begins to glow as she sings.  The light grows brighter and brighter, bigger and bigger as she sings a song to banish the darkness from these pokemon's hearts.  It sounds oddly familiar to Randolph...

Sing 1
(5)(3)(1)
Onix A falls asleep!

By the time Paula has finished singing her song, she's no longer a small Selkid.  She's grown several feet taller in an instant, and what appears to be trident shaped jewelry adorns her head and tail, a gold collar adorning her neck.  Her hairstyle has become even more wave-like (and the red bow is still affixed in it), and the colors of the ocean now decorate her entire body.

Congratulations!  Paula has evolved into Syrentide!  Her Base HP is now 6, and her current HP is 8/9.

Byron continues the battle as if nothing has happened, focusing on the task at hand.  "Alright, here we go!  Make the most of this opportunity while you can!"

Trick Room 1
2 + 4 + 4 + 1 Wide Lens - 2 - 1 Pain = 8
(5)(4)(6)(5)(3)(3)(6)(6)
The room's dimensions become twisted!  The Initiative Order is reversed, and Trainer actions now occur before Pokemon actions!

Reversed Initiative Order
Bronzong: (2) + 6 = 8
Paula: (4) + 9 = 13
Coal Onix A: (4) + 9 = 13 (this is the one with the chipped horn)
Melissa: (6) + 8 = 14
Coal Onix B: (6) + 9 = 15
Nami: (6) + 9 + 2 = 17
D-Steelix: (5) + 14 = 19

Byron wastes no time with his next order.  "Alright, you heard the crazy kid, Bronzong!  Rain Dance!  Don't expect it to work since we're indoors, but I guess we're doing it anyways!"

Bronzong rings its bell, and its eyes begin to glow as it calls upon its dimension shifting powers to change the weather.  Nothing happens for a moment...

Rain Dance 2
2 + 5 + 3 + 1 - 1 - 4 = 6
(6)(5)(5)(1)(2)(6)
It began to Rain!

Byron can't believe it!  He wasn't expecting this to work at all, and the only reason he tried it is because Randolph's reaction implied that it might!  "Wh-what the...?  What the hell is going on here?  First that aura, and now this?!  And here I thought this was going to be a simple job..."

Paula sings her siren's song again, this time channeling her newly strengthened power over the oceans and water to gather the rainfall into a vast wave that comes crashing down on everything around her.  Randolph feels his bag start to heat up, and pillars of flame erupt around the trainers, protecting them from the wave of water before evaporating into steam!

The pokemon on the battlefield aren't so lucky, obviously.

Surf 2
(4)(2)(3)(4)(2)
7 + 1 Rain - 3/4/6 (+ QE) = 5/4/2 (+ 2)

Bronzong takes 1 damage.  4/9 HP -2 Pain
Both Onix take 4 damage! 30/34 HP -1 Pain
Nami takes 2 damage! 5/8 HP -1 Pain
It doesn't affect Melissa due to Water Absorb...
The water hits the Diamond Steelix, but it washes right over its slick, crystalline skin, dealing no damage at all!

That dreadful Onix that ruined Randolph's life all those years ago is sleeping through it all, though.  It almost looks...peaceful.

Wake Up A 2
(6)(3)(3)(2) 1/5 successes accumulated

Lucas blinks when he sees the Steelix is completely unaffected by Water type moves.  "What the heck...?  Ah, no matter.  Take care of those Onix first, Melissa!"

Melissa lazily yawns again, and without moving from the spot where she's lounging, manages to somehow summon another wave of water, though this one is more controlled and gathers up a lot more dirt and rocks than Paula's attack did.

The second Onix is still snoozing away, but not for long...

Wake Up B 2
(6)(4)(3)(6) 6/5
Onix B wakes up!

Nami Flinches 2

The Diamond Steelix roars again, but the shadows instead take spiked shapes that jut out from the ground instead of surrounding it.  The spikes prick and skewer all who oppose this near Legendary Shadow Pokemon's might!

Shadow Rave 2

Melissa takes 1 damage 7/8 HP
Paula takes 2 damage 6/9 HP -2 Pain
Nami takes 2 damage 3/8 HP -2 Pain

Randolph uses a Potion on Paula! 9/9 HP
Kogeki uses a Super Potion on Nami! 8/8 HP

"Bronzong, we need to limit that thing's actions as much as possible!  Daze it, or we're gonna be as flat as steel plating!"

Bronzong's eyes glow once more as its bell once again rings, this time much more loudly.  Steelix cringes as the loud noise threatens to damage its hearing and disorient it slightly.  Its malicious gaze is still fixed squarely on Randolph and Byron, however.

Confuse Ray 3
10 + 1 WL - 6 - 2 = 3
(6)(4)(2)
Diamond Steelix became Confused!

Paula begins singing a quieter tune, not quite a lullaby, but soothing enough to calm the trainers who hear it.  She casually blows bubbles in the direction of her opponents as she sings.

Bubble 3
(5)(1)(3)

Looks like the Coal Onix that started all of this isn't going to wake up any time soon...

Wake Up A 3
(4)(3)(1)(1) 2/5 Successes
Zzzzzzzz....

Lucas decides to take a calculated risk.  "Slow them down, Melissa!  The fewer actions they get, the better off we'll be, regardless of the Trick Room!"

Melissa lazily flicks her tail, and the small gust it creates turns into a frigid wind of surprising strength.  It's the first damaging move that's been used that actually has a chance to affect the Diamond Steelix.

Icy Wind 3

Both Onix take 3 damage! 20/34 HP -1 Pain
Steelix takes 0 damage.
-1 Dexterity for all three.  Onix B now moves before Melissa, and Onix A moves before Paula.
Melissa recovers 1 HP as her Shell Bell rings! 8/8

Onix B burrows underground!  Where it's going to pop out, only Arceus knows!

Charging Dig B 3

Nami finally recovers from her Flinch.  She continues following Kogeki's orders to the letter, likely a welcome change for the ninja.

Light Screen 3
(4)(1)(1) Derp.  That's a failed Light Screen, however.  *shrug*

The Diamond Steelix closes its eyes and begins to focus.  Its crystal skin begins to glow with a bright light as it concentrates, and all the little flecks of diamond dust begin to do the same.  Nobody present except Randolph recognizes what this move is, as they have never seen a pokemon do anything like this ever before.

And then all the little flecks of diamond dust begin to spin around the room like a vicious Sandstorm as Steelix roars again, mixing with larger shards of valuable diamond that chip off of Steelix's body.  The little shards cause innumerable small cuts to the trainers' pokemon, and the ones that hit the user itself only seem to harden its already tough looking skin further.  The trainers themselves have to get down on the ground, lest the attack damage them too.  In Randolph's specific case, Paula stands in front of her trainer and shields him using her new height and bulk, taking the brunt of the damage meant for him head on.

D-Steelix's Defense increases by 2!

The diamond dust and Steelix's skin stop glowing once the attack finishes, but the snake's dim sparkles are now also coated in an almost metallic sheen.  Breaking its Defense looks like it's going to be almost impossible.

"Ack!  What the heck kind of move was that?!  We need to finish these Onix off quickly so that Steelix doesn't have time to squish us!  Melissa, blast them!"

Melissa's suddenly wide awake, no longer yawning like she almost always seems to be.  For once, she seems to be taking this situation seriously, something that she didn't even do when she and Lucas were facing Cynthia in the video records that Randolph watched.  She takes a deep breath, and a massive quantity of water is fired at one of the Onix soon afterwards, her Shell Bell ringing like crazy when the attack connects!!!

Nami takes 3 damage and faints!

Melissa's starting to get exhausted, and not in a sleepy way.  She hasn't been in a battle this difficult in a long, long, long time...

Water Gun 5
13 - 10 - 2 = 1
(1)  ...and it shows, as she completely misses this last ditch effort to get in just a little more damage.

Steelix closes its eyes and focuses again, but this time, only a few larger chunks of diamond leftover from its earlier attack begin to glow.  And they continue to glow even after Steelix opens its eyes again and affixes its gaze on its primary targets once more.

Stealth Rock 5
5 + 5 + 5 - 10 - 2 = 3
(5)(2)(3)
Pointed diamonds float around the battlefield!  All pokemon take 1 damage upon switching in, and 1 additional point of damage for every Type they have weak to Rock!

Byron recalls his Bronzong, and Lucas recalls Melissa.  Both of them ready another pokeball each.

"Not bad, kid.  Guess the rain was a decent call after all."

"And it's dampened the coal, too.  It should be safe to use Fire moves as long as it's raining."

"How the heck did you know that was going to work at all, though?"

"Long story.  I'll tell you after the battle.  This isn't anywhere near over yet!"

Paula's exhausted, barely standing only because she evolved at the very last minute.  She's got a smile on her face regardless, though. Smile

Kogeki release a worried sight. "She will sure be piss off when she awake. She always get fainted...Must remember to buy some proteins to her to have better defenses..."

Also, is that move from Steelix a Temtem reference? I remember a Temtem who use Diamond Storm.

"Susano'o, come out now!" Kogeki summon his samurai fish, and waste no time and Mega Evo him!

Seeing the new and improved Paula standing taller than ever despite the abuse she endured, Ran squanders no time at all whipping out a Max Potion and using it on her, restoring the queen of the sea to Full HP! He's quite astonished that his once smol siren had Evolved on him (As he had no idea she was capable of Evolution in the first place), but like his best friend he doesn't let hinder his ironclad focus on everyone titanic struggle against the giga rock serpents!

"Paula, hang in their lass! Keep showing them monsters you new regal power!"

(In other words, Paula's staying out for Round 2! Time for Bryon's and Lucas's next Pokemon and their Initiatives!)
