[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Genesect is "registered" to a Pokeball. This gives you NO control over the Legendary Pokemon, though they can choose to be recalled when you recall them, or sent out when you send them out. It still only works on the one Pokeball.

Some of the moves it has include: Fell Stinger, Hyper Beam, Extreme Speed, Screech, Camoflauge, Slash, Night Slash, Bug Buzz, Mimic, Iron Defense, Signal Beam, U-Turn. Of course, these are all Plot Device moves. Just looking at the mon you can tell that most normal attacks will do NOTHING to this monstrosity. However, some of the Scimitar spells might be able to affect it.

Rose is a good Pokemon for this training, as well as Shrimputy. Shrimputy knows both Fire and Water.
By day you work hard to master summoning your flame while water flails all around you - at first drawing on the heat from the underground cavern, but later learning to do it in more and more humid places. Same for Rose's moves.

Primal Kingdra is also willing to work with you at nights. You go there each night and see if you can summon your flame underwater - a task you are unable to complete until the seventh night. The secret, of course, is to make sure no more than one of the legs of the triangle are missing.

Quote:By the end of the in-game Week, Nucleon would be entirely used to your presence - Loyalty +1. But it's still not a good idea to use her in battle yet.

However, she is ready for a surprise.
Shiva/Source: https://pokemonuranium.co/forum/showthre...0#pid74490

Entirerly used to my presence is great, very great indeed, that counts as an important step in my book! <3 Shiva likewise can barely be happier about this success, it's incredibly sweet❤ for her to see smol Curie chewing on the offered All-Natural food with her around. That, and of course her having ceased skittering away from Shiva! Yet the natural fae-enthusiast is careful and cautious around her smol and unique Eeveelution to not accidently scare her with hasty movements and noises... And despite it itches Shiva to pet and stroke though the Nucleon's soft greyish blue fur, she holds back.

Something Shiva noticed quickly is that it's kinda interesting to just watch her smol Nucleon, she soon finds herself noting down these observations in some diary-form. Actually, the young Nucleon doesn't behave that differently than a young Eevee she feels, how cute...! (Or does it in some way, Iron?)

Onwards to the promised suprise!! Shiva carefully catches Curie's attention someday after breakfast. "Hehehe, you've been such an adooorable and good lil' one, of course you deserve the suprise I have promised you earlier, haven't you?~ *sweet smile and cue Shiva's heart almost melting as Curie expectantly waggs her green detached tail* "I need to withdraw you into you Pokeball for it and attach you to my account on Bill's PC Network... *places  said Pokeball in front of Curie* "It will not hurt a single bit, and I'm, uhm, hoping that you'll like it, yes? I'm certain you will, yes! ☆(^v^ ) "

With Curie in her Pokeball and Shiva having logged in to view her PC Boxes, she draws a whitish grey disk from her stuff [Image: Bag_TM_Normal_Sprite.png] and inserts it into the CD-ROM drive.

+++

Back in her dorm, she quickly summons Curie again and semi-nervously smiles at her. "Oh you, don't give me such a questioning look!~❤ Let me explain, will you...?~ *coughs* What I've put you through is a special procedure that not every Pokemon can be put through - you could say that not every Pokemon is compatible, haha! So, you're something special now in another aspect..." Curie listens attentively, but looks like she isn't able to understand fully - she staaaares at Shiva with all her three eyes.

"Listen, and please focus on yourself and ypur small body - don't you feel a tiny little bit more capable now? Don't you notice that there's something different about you and your Moves, something that's feeling GOOD and NICE? ...Yes? That's because this procedure I've put you through - that you likely haven't even noticed fully, haven't you?~ - has let you learn a new move! You see, it's been coded on this disk before-" Shiva lets Curie sniff on the whitish grey disk from earlier, "-and now it's within YOU! Sounds odd, doesn't it? But it's very helpful and positive. The move you now know is called 'Safeguard' - it summons and encloaks you in a very pleasant and protective veil. Come one, please try to use this move now!~"

To briefly sum up the two researchers general reaction, they were for the most part surprisingly calm about the Primal Genesect and Nathan parlaying with it , though that didn't prevent them from expressing supreme interest in the literally Legendary exchange or their own personal feelings about it.

With Ventus, he was of course stood in awe at the ancient Mythical insect, but it was in a.....subdued and almost sad sort of way. And after getting over the slight scare Nate gave him when they briefly relinquished The Sword and started connecting with the behemoth Bug their was a flash of bittersweet nostalgia and rueful envy across his face, before he was back to smiling as always.

Terra, on the other hand, had brought out a journal and was quickly (and somehow quietly) scribbling every detail about the Primal Genesect and its behavior into it, looking back forth between his notes and it with stoic intensity. Beyond that he was less emotive than his boss about the ancient predator, though that may be in of itself a sign of confidence and trust in the creature since he was not hyper vigilant and one edge with worry and caution about it instead.

Now to fast forward to the boy hero's question to them. The eternally wearer of tweed at first could only chuckle and shake his head to himself, before looking up at them and share a bemused smirk.

"Dear oh dear, Nate. I imagined you would hit it off superbly with Genesect, but the way you so recklessly endangered yourself to better facilitate such trust and respect? I'd be furious at the unnecessary risks you took if I didn't expect such behavior......or if I hadn't done similar feats of fearless friend making with my old friend. Did I inspire such brazen confidence, I wonder? *Chuckles* It's all so uncanny, honestly....."

Again he shook his head, this time in amusement at how history was repeating before his very eyes with a person he equal parts admired and was vexed by.

"You seem to be well in hand with our now mutual friend, so I don't believe I have anything to say about it. Beyond offering my own experiences for you to mull over later if you so desire, of course. No need for lengthy explanations or question spoiling this wondrous occasion, hmm? Oh, and I suggest you teach Genesect FLY ASAP. With it, that should greatly decrease the likely hood those vile archmages can their sullied mitts on it - after all, it's hard to catch something that can blip away in mere microseconds."

Despite saying thus, Ven would turn his attention to the Primal Genesect and offer to it a short but polite bow, along with some greetings (or none, if Nathan already introduced him/Terra) and advice.

"My friend will do good on his promises, Genesect, but it would be remiss of my not to say this to you: don't be afraid to exercise your own caution, power, and independence if need be. Though they are quite the reliable Trainer now in days and has a wealth of opportunities and safety for you, he has the unfortunate tendency to overindulge in reckless heroics and to be too strong Willed for his own good. Should you believe he is leading or involving you in matters to risky for your liking, object to it, or remove yourself from it even if he and you can't come to a compromise. Inversely, don't let his limitations and codes fetter you, unless they are to your liking. You are your own being with your own free will, so exercise it duly."

And that's all Ventus has to say! Terra, by contrast, only has this to say to the Lore Master, after carefully reaching over to clasp them on the shoulder with a slight smile : "Thank you, Nathan. For letting me be here, and.....help make this all possible so good. Maybe later you can convince it to let me study it, but not now."

The sagely monk too has words for the Primal Genesect, or rather something to inform them about....

"Hello Genesect. My name is Terra. Terra Sanaa Ismet. Friend of Nathan, and hopefully friend of yours. *Beat, then coughs, somewhat nervously* .....Let you know that I....have my own Genesect, as my.....friend and kin. It is much smaller than you. Less powerful, less.....Legendary. If you see me Summon it, don't hurt her. Please. *Frowns* Unless she tries to hurt you first. Then you can punish her. Just....don't kill her. Be a...friend or inspiration, if you can. That is all."

For now, that's it, so onwards to the next scene!

"You and your notes are part of what inspired that, yes.  I'm only repeating history and building upon what's been done by others before me.  So hopefully, this occurrence will end...differently.  And I have your experience to thank for making a lot of this possible in the first place.  If enough issues blow over eventually, I'd like to properly credit you in writing one day.  I wouldn't know half the stuff I do about Genesect if it weren't for you."

Nathan does sigh a little when Ventus cautions Genesect about the reckless heroics, but he will pull the orange haired researcher aside and say thus privately:

"...well, I won't say you're wrong, and it's not like I could stop this Genesect if it decides to do something contrary to what I might ask of it.  On that topic, though, I've recently come to believe that the Water Scimitars happen to likely be connected to what happened to Azelf in some capacity, so it's quite possible that we'll be facing the upper ranks of the organization when we go on our trip.  Though that was also part of my little speech, which Genesect seemed to like.  I plan to take the fight to the Scimitars when possible this time.  No more waiting around for disaster to strike first, like what happened over the last few months.  I'm tired of being the prey instead of the predator.  But to do that properly, I am going to need information in the future.  I trust you and Dagny will keep me updated on their activities?"

Among the obvious question, though, is also this one: how does Ventus respond to that little revelation that the Water Scimitars are likely involved in splitting the Lake Trio?

It's probably fair to say that of all the eevolutions, Nucleon is one of the ones that acts most like its base form. The bond with a trainer allows it to remain normal despite everything that's happening inside.

I like that flavortext for Safeguard, especially considering this Nucleon's backstory. A great surprise! The summoned trainer could be kind of like Curie's perspective - ie mostly boots and a labcoat looming above!

Lol Genesect definitely doesn't need to be told to retreat if the going gets tough! And as a true Legendary, a Trainer's ability to impose their will on Genesect is extremely limited. Your goals may align - and the baby monstrosity may not have enough life experience to define goals yet - but Genesect is no servant.

Terra's bargain about Arete sounds fair to Genesect.

You two can have 6 character XP for this moment. (Windos, pick one character to give it to, probably Terra as he's your real character).

Ventus smile grows a bit wider as Nate confirmed his suspicions and give him (in his opinion) too much credit, and soon after nods back to them.

"Thank you, Nate. I can hardly imagine what the fate of this Genesect would be without your unique and splendorous qualities, though, so don't sell yourself now, hmm? *Shakes Head* Don't think they'll ever be a time where my findings can safely be non-covertly divulged, but I appreciate the sentiment regardless."

When the conversation moves onto the Water Scimitars and their potential and most definitely malevolent involvement with the Lake Trio the eccentric researcher's turns brittle as Ice, and his eyes almost seemed to glow as they took on an intense gleam. After they finish up and posed their question, he was quiet for several long and awkward second before they answered with a big, positively saccharine grins.

"But of course, Nate. If our assistance can put a utter end to them idiotic, blasphemous villians, you know I'd be ecstatic to render any aid I possibly can."

His grins turns somewhat sardonic at that point, giving the boy hero a question look.

"Honestly, all of that said should've been a given. Makes me wonder what you're trying to accomplish by tempting my feelings of retribution like so, you know?"

Another short paused passed, until his smile flattened out into a neutral line as he regarded his oft vitriolic friend with an unreadable expression.

"....I still have yet to come to a decision regarding helping that certain friend of yours, so if you're expecting an answer soon I won't be able to give it. You should know this, however: I will not be doing anything for them without them guaranteeing rewards or Favors for my service, and that if those vile archmages are involved with it and its siblings current problems I will act as I see fit with those fiends. I'm done doing charity work for those with great power without promise of payback, and I'm equally done playing nice with the Scimitars after all the trouble they caused and corrupting our mutual associate. Should you have issues with either of those things, then I'd think it would be for the best I remain uninvolved for everyone's shake. Do you understand, Nate?"

(Yay, happy to hear that! I support the summoned Trainer being from Curie's view, aka it's more a labcoat and boots instead fullbody!)

'Everything thats happening inside'... Shiva can only imagine what is happening inside her dear Nucleon. It's a Pokemon belonging to that ominous NULCEAR Type - the process the nuclear radiation has and is affecting these must be scary and dangerous, but also very interesting. As she rejoices over Curie enjoying her new move and carefully tries to summon her passed-away Trainer a few times, she finds it even harder to believe that a Nucleon posses a real threat... Curie's looking so smol and dear after all! <3

She carefully packs the used TM away to the other used TM-disks (she's keeping those), and carefully catches Curie's attention. "You're enjoying it, do you? Very happy about that! *cute smile* ...*cough* Well, ehm, it's about time for you to return to your Pokeball for some rest then, as I need to go out and don't wish to leave you alone here, alright? Later at night I'll let you out again, promise!" As she rummages for Curie's Ball, she draws another small item from her stuff and places it in front of her special Eeveelution. It's...
...the Soothe Bell she acquired sometime during her journey. "Will you allow me to attach this little pretty bell to your knitted scarf, Curie? Or do you prefer to keep a hold of your beautiful Nuclear Gem? It'll make a sweet low chimming sound whenever you take a step! So, what shall it be...?" (Aka, what does Curie prefer to hold? Or how does holding the two Items in turns sound to her)

++Flashing forward after the above scene++

Now, while Shiva's at it already... While having packed away the disk of Safeguard she noticed that she's still having various not-yet-used TMs on her from the adventure down the Underground Lab of Garlicburg. That means...
...a TM Give-Out!!

That's it for now!~ Before moving on, does any of the Pokemon react in a specific way to the gifted TM, any unique quirks they show upon upon testing the move, any increases of Loyalty/Happiness or otherwise input from you, Iron?

Sad Pokemon are always attracted to the soothing sound of a Soothe Bell. She'll take that.

Most moves go how you'd expect - When Comite moves or summons rocks, they temporarily shimmer like a Deyo flower.
Chi in her base form doing Dragon Dance sounds really adorable. That can be worth 1 Happiness.
