[Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands
#91
Oh whow, that Festival of Innovation sounds incredibly fun and cool, like a festivity to celebrate MAGIC! I'd visit and be amazed what epic things done with it are showcased.

Heart does very so deserve being most celebrated, me feels! It kind of comes as a suprise though that even Ven is celebrated on his birthday with a moderate wave of...'followers', while Shiva... it pains somewhat that she's being labeled as having abandoned her Destiny and being partly responsible for the Tragedies (more specifically, being the Third and last loss Ven had to face), but I kinda prefer that + her abandoning than she would be staying with the group and continuing to silently suffer. Whether that's a happy end for her or not - that's up to personal preferance.

While I'm on it and already writing: Did good progress on filling out and setting up my chara sheet yesterday and today, even if it takes a little longer due to one special Pokemon and me doing lots of customization and physical notetaking during it. One question came up during it:

Quote:Tough, Beauty, Cool, Smart, and Cute are merely cosmetic in this campaign and do not count in Attack Rolls (Sub with DEX or SPE in those Moves), unless you're trying to do something Performative or WANT to use them (In which case you have to keep track of them and run by me whenever you want to use them for something)
If these Social Attributes are not used at all, is it okay if in the space they're noted in the Pokemon's sheet I note down how high the respective Cap of the Attribute is? Since the Cap kinda DOES matter from what I am understanding.
Example: In the field 'Strength' the Mon's current STR Score is stated (3), in the field next to it where the TouchSocial Attribute would be it stated what the Cap of STR is for that Mon (6).

As a fellow player, I think that's a perfectly fine use of that column!  I have cells like that on my character sheet for Shattered Earth, and it's a great way to keep track of that info without having to refer back to the rules and modifications to them.

I'm using the column a little differently on my WL sheet atm, but I might change things up a little bit at some point.  The current layout I have is a little messy with all the info I've crammed in there.

T-thanks! (/>/ω/<//) I like customization. It takes so long and so much work, but...worth it? Maybe? I guess? If it makes things easier for player AND GM, then for sure so.

What Dragonstrike said - the Sheet I offer is ultimately a easy to use Template for keeping track of stuff for all of us. If you want to customize it to be better for you, be my guests! So long as I know what everything is supposed to be I got no problems with overhauls to the Sheet , or even making a new one from scratch if you got a different way of making them!

Mika, I can’t really C/P ‘ l ‘ s since that would effectively quarter my writing output, which is already a bit slow due to editing and how my creativity works. I’m just going to have to bite the Bullet Punch and get the wireless keyboard ASAP if my J k l ; key’s continues to be more carports than I can brute force past.

Venous is both famous and infamous for the whole ‘Actually Killing a Legend (A GOD Queen of Bugs, as this was BEFORE Legends were made Mortal) ‘ and holding another over at Super sword point to basically bow to his Will or join the body count. He’s considered a symbol of ‘righteous indignation’ and Vengence in general, which gels REAL well with Post Betrayal attitudes that a good portion of Cheshire holds, but the Legend Killer angle he has going tempers things to roughly even for him specops wise. Shiva, on the other hand… well, Heart didn’t do the best job of representing her in anything but a somberly light. Hard to get behind some that embodies ‘Hit Da Bricks - Real Winners Quit ‘ Meme for festivities, but still offering a good lesson for others to learn and honor/mourn.

Last, Social Attributes are basically condensed into their Body Attributes for simply sake. A STR man will logically be Very Tough, while a man full of VIT would be more Beautiful due to having a inherently better bod than most. Just use your Attributes in Social for what you want, and if it makes sense/Fortune favors you the it’ll work out!

And as a fellow character sheet customizer, I'd say the effort is definitely worth it!  Making character sheets both nice to look at and easily readable as a reference is a bit of an art form, but oh so satisfying to pull off.

What you should do is type the post in a text editor, like Notepad, and then do a Find and Replace at the end to replace all 1s with Ls. You'd only have to ctrl-c ctrl-v once xD

and of course if you're actually using a 1 as a 1, you'll have to address that somehow.

Heh, its such amazing worldbuilding you doing there mate. The council, the days, the map itself...Cant wait to explore everything and a little more!

Also, I quite honestly surprised each of our old characters have such their birthdays celebrated. Cant help but to wonder what kind of festivities happen in such days. If Heart still have its love for puns, cant help to imagine a competion of puns xD He was once called PUNisher trainer for a reason hehe. I feel a bit sad for Shiva be such controversial figure, while I cant help to understand some people for feel that way.

I do have a question about the Scimitars members as in general. We do know they are kind of heroes for some people, and despise by others. But in general they consider what they did "good". But there is any Scimitar members (or members) that doesnt agree that much what they did? Maybe a tip of regret?

Also, could you explain a bit about each of the faction of Scimitars? Their know goals, and what the members of those do and believe? Or maybe their methods?

Unfortunately,  I can't answer any of these questions, since not enough PCs would know of the minutia of the Scimitars to actually have Insight on these topics for me to freely share such Info. That, and generally speaking the Scimitars are infamous for how Private they like to be - any answers a Non-Scim PC would find would be heavily subject to Author Bias and mis/incomplete information unless they got the intell straight from a Scim. Generally speaking that ain't happening, so you'll have to be content with the clues I've already provided + what you know about them from Iron's Campaign.

*raises hand* Windos! A question, a question that I only now came by as I was distributing and calculating things for one of my chara's Pokemon:

Quote:HP is calculated based on the following formula:
Base HP + Pokemon's Highest Capped Defense Attribute Value + Your PC's Alt. Defense Attribute to Their 'Main' one
EX: If a Pokemon has 3 VIT (Cap 6) and 2 INS (Cap 4), they would add + 3 HP to their Total; if their PC has + 3 INS, then + 3 HP would be added to that Pokemon's Total

What if these Defense Values are exactly the same, even capwise? The Pokemon has BOTH a base Stat of 2 AND a cap of 5 in BOTH Vitality and Insight. Which one shall I then use for calculating the HP in that case, can you tell pretty please? Does it matter at all which one is used then? Maybe it does not right now as the chara has still the same value in Defense and Sp.Defense, but it will matter once I decide to level either of these Stats.
